Yesterday evening:

Governor Mike Parson @GovParsonMO
Yesterday, the advanced life-support ambulance strike teams transported an additional 20 patients to hospitals outside the Springfield area to reduce hospital censuses in the region.

Governor Mike Parson @GovParsonMO
The 10 ambulance teams have transported a total of 107 COVID-19 patients outside the area — some roundtrips of seven to nine hours or more.

Some of the responses:

Thank You Governor Parsons for creating these new jobs. For a cow farmer your are pretty smart. More Covid cases more jobs! They will need to be transported to other hospitals due to Springfield being overwhelmed. You must be so proud!!!

Uh…

A declaration isn’t enough, but actual action is needed if you want to stop overflowing hospitals. Stop trying to do nothing to appease deniers.

Maybe you shouldn’t have let it get to the point of needing this but in doing something like that you would have actually been a governor.

You’d think.

And yet the census in said hospitals still going up.

It’s weird to talk about there being so many people in the hospitals in SW MO that you are having people transported to hospitals 4 hours away like it’s some great accomplishment.

Sounds like a great reason for you to have a state wide mask mandate and stronger stance on vaccination. How many people need to die?

How about a “please get vaccinated” to go with this senseless bragging?? [….]

Help us out, Hee Haw. Is this one of those GOOD NEWS tweets orr nah?

Can you say…….. crisis?

Who pays for these transports?

Which shouldn’t have been necessary IF YOU WOULD DO YOUR JOB.

Yeah, not seeing the positive of having to transport people due to overcrowding [….]

And what did you do to address this growing concern yesterday ??

Photo op chases photo ops

@GovParsonMO staff finds these fun field trips for him, like the corn cob fest. No hard questions. @GovParsonMO is Missouri’s #dumberdesantis

To StL? Where your AG is suing to stop a mask mandate that will save lives? Asking for people who actually care about saving lives.

Yep.

Yet 3 days ago he held a huge unmasked event in Springfield (which is in crisis) now he’s bragging about how fast ambulances are hauling extremely sick people out of here. [….]

So, you going to do anything other than tweeting at the problem? Maybe suggest or (gasp!) mandate masks for indoor public spaces?

Wonder what could be done to prevent the need for this?????

That’s great. How about a mask mandate to help slow the hospitalizations and give our medical hero’s some relief?

Nah, he doesn’t give a shit. Never has. [….]

Would have been better of you could have acted faster in granting resources foe the ACS. You dragged out the decision and they had to find another solution.

And . . . .? You are doing WHAT to help stop this?

Rural hospitals are disappearing, and you brag about a fleet of ambulances that can do round trips to the big cities in 6 hours.

Yeah, about that…

I thought the virus was a hoax and we don’t need to vaccinate, wear masks?

Transporting them outside one area does not reduce burden on healthcare workers, including this “strike team” (whatever that means) Do you think if Springfield #s are low MO will quit making national news and you won’t look like the terrible leader you are?

Too bad you failed to do your job. We wouldn’t even be seeing this.

Finish the tweet….

due to your inept leadership and not actually giving a crap about your citizens.

No hospitals beds available in Springfield? That is part of the reason STL and KC felt it was necessary to safeguard the limited urban hospital beds w. a mask mandate. Can you call off your attack dog @AGEricSchmitt with his worthless lawsuits so we can protect all Missourians?

There’s that, too.

And let’s not forget about the State Fair coming up in covid central. [….]

Your vaccination strategy FAILED!! As of 7/16/21 Mo vaccination rate – 41%. Your refusal to implement a mask mandate killed people !!In Mo New Delta Covid cases have spiked over the past month. One in every 350 people in Mo has been diagnosed with COVID !! Worst Governor ever!!

Why are you having to transport patients? Are they going on your bicentennial tour with you?

I am tired of the political mask debate! It is about LIFE or DEATH. Hospitals in KC are filling up & going on diversion which means if you or a loved one get sick w/COVID, has a heart attack or is seriously injured in a car accident, there may not be a hospital bed for you.(1/3)

Patty4MO @Patty4MO
(2/3)I support @QuintonLucasKC #MaskMandate. This is an evolving virus. According new info from the @CDCgov even if you are vaccinated, you can still get the Delta variant, be asymptomatic, have a LARGE viral load in your system & spread the virus. The entire state is in the red.

Patty4MO @Patty4MO
(3/3)If you care about your neighbor, those with underlying health conditions & children 11 yrs old & younger, PLEASE, please, please #GetVaccinated. And let’s all #MaskUp until we reach heard immunity. #HealthCare shouldn’t be political. #MOLeg #MaskUp

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas [2019 file photo].

Last night:

Mayor Q @QuintonLucasKC
I have stuck with CDC guidance throughout the pandemic and today is no different.

I will return Kansas City to a mask mandate indoors based upon national and regional health guidance and discussion with other Kansas City leaders. I will provide further details in the morning.
6:49 PM · Jul 27, 2021

Mayor Q @QuintonLucasKC We cannot ignore the rapid spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant in Missouri—outpacing much of the country. We will do all we can to ensure our corner of this state is safe.

Some of the responses:

So frustrating. People do the right thing and get vaccinated and those that don’t cause masks to come back.

There will not be any enforcement

I really, really dislike masks. I’m vaccinated and I’m over them. But this is the right call as people continue to gauge their comfort level with the vaccine. Hopefully we see more shots and fewer masks down the road…. for now, we gotta keep folks safe.

I voted for you and will vote for you again, but as a vaccinated adult, I absolutely hate this and will shop, spend money in Overland Park instead of KCMO whenever possible. I doubt I am the only one.

You didn’t vote for him, you never will. You shop there all the time anyway.

Good call. You hire a professional engineer to design a bridge . You don’t let the guys at the bar draw it on a napkin .

Use the professionals.

How long will this last? I really want my senior year to be normal. I’ve seen what the class of 20 and 21 went through and how badly it affected them, I don’t want the same to happen to class of 22

Tell that to the anti-vaxxers.

Ya my husband and I were gonna honeymoon in kc but not now

And they said it wouldn’t last…

Thank you for ignoring the giant toddlers who can’t handle wearing a simple piece of cloth.

Thank you. I’m vaccinated but had a positive test. We still need masks until people get vaccinated.

Thank you for leading our city in a better direction because the honor system just was not working here.

Thank you for following the guidance of experts and healthcare leaders in our community.

If you don’t like it then get the vaccine. The more people vaccinated the quicker we can get out of this. Anti-vax babies are ruining this for everyone. Grow up and think about someone other than yourself for a change.

So why did I get vaccinated???

I have 2 littles under 6. I’ll do it so they don’t get it. They cannot get vaxed like me and my wife. MO hillbillies can kiss my ass.

This makes no sense. Masks only protect others from getting the virus. People who have had the vaccine cannot pass the virus to others therefore we should not have to wear masks. This is just a control thing.

Has difficulty paying attention and keeping up.

Glad I don’t live in kcmo..all fear porn to get more people into the worlds biggest science experiment

Thank you for post thinking this. It was getting hard to spot you wackos when you took your red hats off

Risky and Reckless.

I do have a question actually. What is the particle size of the droplet of water the COVID virus travels on when it goes from their sneeze into your mouth?

Slept through school, will never understand science.

This is the right thing to do for our communities. If all get on the same page, we are stronger. Thank you.

Nope. I will support and provide commerce to anyone who opposes this mandate.

Yes, with your billions of wealth.

Awesome! I will keep my spending in Kansas then! I like it better over here anyway!

Has difficulty understanding simple concepts.

I will not, under any circumstance comply.

Some people never get out of nursery school.

Good. Had to be done unfortunately. Its ashame not everyone did their part to end this

Thank you mayor Q. Everyone, please know this isn’t a punishment. The delta and lambda variants are more deadly because they rapidly replicate in our bodies to the point where even when vaccinated, you can still transmit the virus – but will most likely not have severe symptoms

Even though breakout cases are rare (when vaccinated people contract and spread covid), they are still happening. Any amount of prevention could be the difference between having enough medical staff/supplies to help those who do get sick.

Civil Disobedience will rain supreme. I won’t wear one and will enter businesses at will without one

Might want to rein that in a bit. The reign in Speign falls meignly on the pleign. Even better:

Don’t cut yourself on that edge

Thank Mayor Q for your leadership. I know it’s really hard with all the pushback you’re sure to get, but it’s definitely the right thing to get things back under control, especially until we can get our kids vaccinated.

Kc will lose money thanks and so if anyone that enforces this. That’s not what we need

Believes that people can take it with them.

Thanks anti-vaxxers. For nothing.
Why? We have a major major problem that’s actually fixable. Only problem is, it requires a general sense of civic responsibility.

They’d have to have morals for that

Morals for taking a non-fda approved experimental vaccine for a virus with a 99% survival rate?

Slept through school, has difficulty with actual facts and large numbers.

I’m vaccinated. I dont want to mask again. If its because I can spread it to others who refuse to vaccinate, its their problem. Hospitals should just refuse covid cases. Have them go home, see what happens and deal with the consequence. Cant save those who don’t want to be saved

Tempting, but our society is not supposed to be made up of sociopaths. Oh, wait…

Thank you. Who didn’t see this coming? It was just a matter of time. An ugly world we live in where people don’t care about one another and have been consumed with conspiracy theories and hate. What a thankless job you have to maintain some civility.

We never stopped wearing masks. When I go to a public indoor place and 40% are vaccinated but 90% are not wearing masks. The numbers just never added up. Those who have chosen to not be vaccinated are the reason for this.

Thank you for announcing this in time for me to move my birthday party to Johnson County!

Since you’re so popular they’ll really appreciate hosting that super spreader event.

I hate mask, I am vaccinated. That being said, I think you are making the right call, and if this saves lives, even of those who fight it, it’s worth it.

We are all tired of wearing masks, but I am *so* relieved to hear this! Definitely the right call to keep the vulnerable population safe!

It’s reached a point where now it’s simply unfair to those who have done everything they could to not have to wear masks and go back to normal… What do you plan to tell rising seniors who will have now almost completely missed out on their high school experience???

Uh, they’re saving lives and helping prevent the pain and suffering for many others? That should do.

Thank goodness Mayor Q

Thank you. Also thank you for my frail elderly mother and my grandkids who are not yet old enough for the vaccine.

I’m done with this. I’m leaving kc and moving rural. You guys are crazy.

Are you sure about all of that?

Nobody likes masks, but I’ve never stopped wearing one. We need to beat this to ground.

We have the stupid anti-vaxxers to thank for the this. Thanks a lot, a-holes!

WE WILL IGNORE YOU!! Time to stand up !!!!!

You think you’re so big and bad huh? You can’t stand up when you’re on a ventilator, princess

This isn’t what the science shows. Damage to a child’s lungs begins in as little as THREE MINUTES and 68% of children have problems. The damage you are doing far exceeds the intervention.

(The lawsuits will cost billions.)

Wait for it:

That study has been retracted because it used bad methods and measurement equipment.

These babies cant wear a mask to walk in a store for ten minutes while doctors and nurses on front lines wear them for 12 hours plus a day. Who are the real snow flakes?

That’s their job they get paid to do and chose a careeer path in…they’re not going grocery shopping they are performing surgery.

That’s so cute, thinking surgeons are the only people in hospitals.

How is making vaccinated people wear masks going to help stop the spread of the Delta Variant? I’ll wait…

Didn’t have to wait long:

Breakthrough cases. Also immunocompromised aren’t as protected from the vaccines. #leukemia

This has been another edition of short answers to simple questions.

If you haven’t already done so, get vaccinated.

Wear a damn mask.

I, Josh

He left out the Pledge of Allegiance this time. What’s the matter, too socialist?

Josh Hawley @HawleyMO
Liberals at @HuffPost say my bill requiring schools to teach our kids the Constitution, Bill of Rights, & Declaration of Independence is “whitewashing” history. That’s crazy. Those documents ARE our history & the high principles that unite us as Americans are worth celebrating
5:53 PM · Jul 26, 2021

Some of the responses:

Literally no one is saying that, Josh.

They did say Josh’s bill is white washing history, but that’s because of its stupidly narrow focus. Context to the documents is needed. But Josh is also fascist, so expect many distorted truths from him.

So when they learn the founding document states that black people count as 60% of a person, what conclusion should they come to?

You are a disingenuous ass

Yes, I left the Republican Party for many reasons, but it comes down to truth. Since Trump took over, my former political party is made up of people who don’t tell the truth. People who can’t handle the truth. People who rejoice in lying.

I can’t be a part of that.

Are we also going to teach them that Senators instigating insurrections is against the Constitution . . ?

How about a bill that teaches the GOP what a Certified Election means.

We should absolutely teach those things as well as slavery, the Civil War, Jim Crowe, reconstruction and the 1/6/2021 insurrection

My 3 adult kids graduated from MO public schools. You did not. They all learned this material in MO public schools. You would know that if you lived here, had kids in public school, or ever attended public school. Cool it with this hysteria.

You forgot that on 1/6/2021.

Those things are already taught in school. Try to keep up, Hee Haw Hawley.

Josh: *thinking* “what made up controversy can I stir up? Got it: I’ll lie & say kids aren’t taught about the Constitution in school which literally everyone knows that they are”

*ignoring a real crisis* story: “Missouri hospital just hit its all-time high for Covid cases”

You do realize that those are already taught in Missouri classrooms, and classrooms all over America, right? That’s literally the whole point of AP US History. And every 11th grade history class. Sheesh.

Schools across Missouri are already teaching those things. What exactly is the point of your bill?

Just shhh.

You are a lying POS. You helped lead a revolt against our country.

You know what one of my favorite documents is the United States is? The Congressional subpoena. You should get one. Really.

Students do learn about those important documents (did you miss a lot of school??-it might explain some things). I also taught students one of America’s greatest strengths was it’s smooth transition of power. And now you ruined that. Very disappointing.

Okay, come back at us with what they really object to. Nobody is going to believe that anyone would object to teaching the Constitution, Bill of Rights or Declaration of Independence. What else does your “proposal” call for? What are they REALLY objecting to?

Self-Own – if that’s what he thinks “his bill” says, he hasn’t read his bill.

I’m imagine your bill is as vague and selective of this here tweet of yours?

It is.

Will they also be taught about the January 6th insurrection that your traitor ass participated in?

You should study those documents. Give em a good read.

Not sure where you went to school, but all three of my kids were taught these things. Do you ever get exhausted with all the lying?

On Friday, from Lake Regional Health System, centered in Osage Beach, Missouri:

Letter to Our Community (7/23/2021)
Please consult your doctor, not the comments section.

You may have seen recent discussions on social media related to Lake Regional’s care of COVID-19 patients. Although our duty to protect our patients’ privacy prevents us from commenting online, we want our community to know the following.

Our care teams are giving all we have to our patients, but this virus is a formidable opponent.

The patients in the current wave of COVID admissions are sicker and declining more quickly than those in previous waves. They are also younger. About half of the COVID-positive patients we’ve admitted this month are younger than 59. Seventy-five percent are 69 or younger.

This is a virus. There is no cure — only avoidance through vaccination and preventive measures. Treatments are limited and marginally effective. We can address the symptoms and support the patients, but their bodies have to do the hard work of overcoming breathing difficulties, blood pressure drops and eventually failure of the lungs and other organs.

Sometimes all we can do is provide comfort measures. That may be difficult for families to accept, especially when the patients are middle-aged or younger, but it’s the sad reality.

Today is July 23. We have experienced 22 COVID-related deaths in the past 23 days. That’s 22 grieving families who have looked to our team for answers and support, a heartbreaking burden for our caregivers who have dedicated their lives to healing.

Lake Regional’s Ethics Committee met this week to discuss our approach to COVID care, specifically the treatments available to patients at the end of their life. Their determinations are outlined below.

Our doctors will make clinical decisions based on scientific evidence and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, and the National Institutes of Health.
Lake Regional will provide treatments approved or authorized by the FDA or recommended by the CDC or NIH.
Lake Regional will not administer pharmaceuticals or therapeutics that have not been proven to benefit hospitalized patients. Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine fall into this category.
The physicians serving on this committee are some of the best and most caring we have had the pleasure to work with in our careers. We are blessed that they choose to call the Lake of the Ozarks home because, undoubtedly, they are top performers who would be welcomed by any hospital nationwide. They have the full support of our hospital’s leadership; we hope our community will reach out and support them, as well.

As we carry on, remember that we have more wins than losses in this fight. We’ve talked a lot about COVID-related deaths recently because the Delta variant is claiming lives at a higher rate than previous variants. But that doesn’t change the fact that we’ve helped more than 425 hospitalized patients overcome this illness. And, our Emergency Department and clinics have helped countless more patients, who had less severe infections, regain their health.

Vaccines remain our most powerful weapon in this fight. And we urge you to talk to your physician if you have any questions about their safety or efficacy. Otherwise, they are readily available at any of our seven primary care locations, area health departments, Central Ozarks Medical Center and local pharmacies. Just choose the location that’s most convenient for you.

As the leading health care provider in the region, we’re here to serve everyone who needs us. It’s our calling. And while we will always be here to help, we hope everyone will do what it takes to protect themselves and get vaccinated.

Our Commitment Runs Deep,

Josh Brickner, D.O.
Chief of Staff

Harbaksh Sangha, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer

Dane W. Henry, FACHE
Chief Executive Officer

If you haven’t already done so, get vaccinated.

Wear a damn mask.

Today:

Mandatory COVID-19 face mask policy resumes at Whiteman AFB, effective July 26
509th Bomb Wing Public Affairs / Published July 25, 2021

WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. —
To help combat the spread of COVID-19, Whiteman Air Force Base officials have released an update supplementing existing Department of Defense guidance on the use of cloth face coverings, effective July 26.

Beginning Monday, all individuals on installation property will again be required to wear cloth face coverings at all times when indoors and when the maintenance of six feet of physical distance in outdoor work areas is not possible, regardless of personal vaccination status.

Base public health officials observed recent increases in COVID-19 cases in Missouri and local counties and advised the updated guidance to improve installation protective measures against the growing risk of community spread. In addition to adherence to the updated mask guidance, personnel should also continue to follow strict health protection measures to include, but not limited to, social distancing and disciplined personal hygiene, such as hand washing and disinfection of commonly touched surfaces.

This guidance applies to Total-Force military personnel, DOD civilian employees and contractors, family members and all individuals visiting base facilities.

Any cloth items worn as face coverings (e.g., neck gaiters, neck warmers, balaclavas, etc.) should be functional, cleaned and maintained in compliance with current Air Force instructions, and need to cover the mouth and nose.

“Every adjustment to our public health measures is carefully considered and not taken lightly,” said Col. Daniel Diehl, 509th Bomb Wing commander. “We take this step with the best interest of our personnel and our mission readiness in mind. All members of our teams are vital to our success and task of providing the nation with persistent strategic deterrence and lethal global strike capability. Everyone’s continued commitment to fighting the spread of COVID-19 is critical.”

Exemptions:
• Children under the age of two should not wear a face covering due to potential choking/suffocation hazards.
• Any accompanied minor with a medical condition or mental special needs that makes wearing a face covering difficult or potentially hazardous.
• A face covering must be worn into the Whiteman AFB Fitness Center. Face coverings may be removed while actively performing cardiovascular exercise (running, biking, elliptical). Face coverings should be re-donned after completion of cardiovascular exercise.
• Face coverings are required at Whiteman AFB pools; however, they are not required while actually swimming.

Today:

Rep. Vicky Hartzler @RepHartzler
President Biden helps Russia with their pipeline while killing America’s here at home.

Under Biden, it’s Russia first, America last.

Keystone? That was Canadian.

Remember this?:

“Make America Great Again” – in Russian.

As usual, there is much hilarity in the comments:

Wtf? Where are you coming up with these lies?

What a ridiculous statement, after TFG especially.

Bad combover. Check. Too long red tie. Check. Orange spray tan. Check. Tiny hands. Check. Cluelessness. Check…

Wtf? Where are you coming up with these lies?

I’m embarrassed that I voted you in the past

Umm….please remind us of the name of the former president who claimed dictators were his friends?

The GQP lie, lie, and then lie some more.

* Keystone wouldn’t have brought lower gas or energy prices to Americans.
* Keystone wouldn’t have created more than a couple dozen new jobs at most.
* Nord Stream 2 is already nearly done and follows the same pathway as the original.

Hey remember when a bunch of your GQP colleagues visited moscow on july 4th and then came back pushing russian propaganda?

LOL. Is this a parody account ?

You are abusing prescription meds, aren’t you?

Full on Q.

Stands to reason…….
Vickster rode the #racist birther, tea party wave into office.
Of course she’d embrace the #Q movement to garner votes.

Rep. Vicky Hartzler (r): the black helicopters will be dropping microchip infested toasters on us (April 8, 2012)

America benefits in no way from the leaky tube of toxic Canadian sludge Vicky is shilling for, so you have to wonder is she being bribed or does she just really love poisoning Native lands?

Please do Missouri a favor, Go Away.
Oh yea take hawley with you also

It wasn’t “America’s” pipeline. It was for Canadian oil to pass through the USA for shipping elsewhere out of the Gulf. Do you have ANYTHING accurate and worthwhile saying or are you just a pipeline for lies and misinformation?

Yes. This has been another edition of short answers to simple questions.

Vicky doesn’t care about anyone except an endorsement from Trump. We need someone to vote her out. She is a traitor

Does anything come out of your vicious mouth that isn’t a lie. You have no business being in congress. And I guarantee you will never make senator! This country is fed@up with your kind! Vote you out!
