From former news reader Mark Alford’s (r) 4th Congressional District campaign Facebook page:

Mark Alford
2d
What’s the FIRST thing you want the 118th congress to do when we are sworn in Jan 3rd?
[….]

He asked. He got answers from his true believers:

Abolish property tax

There is no Federal Property tax, friend. Talk to your State Reps.

Heh.

Get rid of Pelosi and her puppets!

Bad timing there.

Term limits for all elected officials, and eliminate property taxes

Because the first worked so well in Missouri, the second is a local issue (see above).

Defund the 87000 new IRS agents and the student loan forgiveness plan.

Wait, aren’t IRS agents law enforcement?

Get rid of personal property tax. We pay taxes and then pay again every year

Again, that’s local, not federal.

I agree Term Limits would be a great! This Kansan is pulling for you!

I’m pretty sure this means that they have to vote in Kansas.

Have reasonable abortion laws!

Not with Mark Alford (r).

Term limits, open pipe lines, no tax social security, close borders

You might want to ask Mark Alford (r) about republican plans to get rid of Social Security. No Social Security, no tax on it. Easy peasy.

Replace Pelosi, and then defund the FBI and IRS

Wait, aren’t FBI agents law enforcement?

Revoke the charter of the FBI, defund them, and start over.

They have an agency ready to take over. Федеральная служба безопасности Российской Федерации (FSB).

Put God back in everything they have taken Him out of

By general definition isn’t that impossible? Just asking. Oh, you meant imposing your specific beliefs on everyone else. Sorry.

Help the American people, who was born here and worked and paid taxes

And no sleeping your way through school.

Open up the pipeline from Alaska

Blame Canada. What would Brian Boitano do?

Protect Social Security, strengthen Medicare and more help for keeping the elderly in their home rather than in understaffed facilities at outrageous costs.

See above. They have a plan for getting rid of Social Seurity and you won’t like it.

Limit the power of exec orders and in that get the oil flowing. Then start the Biden Family investigations so the world can see who they really are.

And, a reply from Mark Alford (r):

Mark Alford [….] on it

Interesting.

Make America great again!

See above.

On Saturday afternoon Representative Emanuel Cleaver (D) and Trudy Busch Valentine (D) spoke at a get out the vote rally outdoors at the Clay County Democratic Party headquarters in Gladstone, Missouri. This was the third or fourth campaign appearance of the day for Trudy Busch Valentine in the Kansas City metro area

Teamsters!

Yes, it was a union crowd.

Trudy Busch Valentine (D).

The elephant in the womb:

A significant number of women in attendance were wearing progressive and pro-choice tee shirts.

This candidate is enjoying the experience:

Both Representative Cleaver and Busch Valentine spoke at the rally.

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D).

As in all of her campaign events, people in the crowd waited after its conclusion to speak with and personally greet Trudy Busch Valentine.

A number of women hugged her.

It’s retail politics. This grassroots politicking clearly energizes the candidate and her campaign.

Somebody should give Eric Schmitt (r) a hug.

…This election is about an individual’s access to health care and their bodily autonomy. Yes, abortion is a personal choice. It’s about access to public education. It’s about access to good jobs and a living wage. It’s about access to affordable housing. It’s about the future of Social Security and Medicare and the ability of our citizens to spend their later years living with some measure of dignity and comfort… And it’s about cutting the cost of essential medication for those who need it to survive. It’s about the survival of Democracy and the ability of people to participate with their vote. It’s for the future.

It’s actually considered no excuse absentee voting, apparently.

We decided to vote today.

This involved gathering our government issued photo IDs (U.S. Passport, Missouri Driver License) and trekking over to the County Courthouse. We found the voter office. An individual in the office almost apologetically took our IDs, checked them with the voter roll, and printed two forms for signature. One form had our printed address from the voter roll. We were instructed to print our address on the second form and sign it. Another individual at the counter pointed out, when given that instruction, that the office had already printed our addresses from the voter roll on the first form (which we were also required to sign). The response from the other side of the counter was that this is what the law required. I thought of that other irritated voter, perhaps unfairly, “You voted for this.”

We got our ballots, were escorted to a nearby room, were instructed to not photograph our ballots (it’s in the statutes), finished our voting, took an “I voted…” sticker, and were then on our way.

Just do it.

Trudy Busch Valentine (D) returned to Kansas City yesterday. In the evening she met with voters at a campaign event at La Fonda on Southwest Boulevard.

Listening:

An introduction by Ramona Farris:

Kansas City in October:

Health care and bodily autonomy. Abortion is a personal choice. Access to a good public education. Access to good jobs and a living wage. Access to affordable housing. The future of Social Security and Medicare and living with some measure of dignity and comfort. They are all on the table.

One older gentleman, seeing my media ID, asked me, “What do you think about abortion?” He continued, “It’s none of my business for anyone else. It should be up to the individual. Not the government.”

Kansas City, missouri, Trudy Busch Valentine, U.S. Senate

Trudy Busch Valentine (D) returned to Kansas City today to campaign with her trademark enthusiasm for retail politics. Early this evening she met with voters at a meet and greet event held in a meeting space at the Gregg/Klice Community Center next to the 18th and Vine Jazz District.

This election is about an individual’s access to health care and their bodily autonomy. Yes, abortion is a personal choice. It’s about access to public education. It’s about access to good jobs and a living wage. It’s about access to affordable housing. It’s about the future of Social Security and Medicare and the ability of our citizens to spend their later years living with some measure of dignity and comfort.

If you don’t believe in any of that then just go ahead and vote for Eric Schmitt (r). You’ll richly deserve the results.

There is a difference.

Trudy Busch Valentine (D) – Kansas City

Trudy Busch Valentine (D) succintly presented the stakes in this upcoming election.

As always, Valentine then spent time answering questions from the voters in attendance and listening to their concerns.

Listening to and answering questions.

And, as always, anyone who wants spend some time talking one-on-one with Trudy Busch Valentine (D) at these events actually gets to do so.
