Various news sources have reported that Former State Representative Keith English is dead in an apparent suicide. He served two terms in the General Assembly from 2013 to 2017. He ran for reelection as an Independent in 2016, losing to a Democratic Party candidate by over 2400 votes/14%.
The final vote to override Governor Jay Nixon’s veto of SB 509. Representative Jeremy LaFaver (D) (left) – bearing witness, Representative Keith English (center) – casting the 109th vote necessary for the override, and Representative Ron Hicks (r) (right) – his escort on and off the House floor. May 6, 2014.
In May 2014 then Representative English was the only Democrat in the House to vote to overturn Jay Nixon’s (D) veto of a republican tax cut bill. His vote, the last one cast (see photo), was the deciding vote in the override.

At 3:45, Republican Missouri House leaders will announce the formation of a committee to investigate allegations against @EricGreitens. Shortly after, a group of Republican legislators will hold their own press conference to call on @EricGreitens to resign. #MoLeg 2:28 PM – 26 Feb 2018
Today, a statement on Facebook from the Missouri republican party:

Here’s our full statement on the recent new re: Governor Greitens
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – The Missouri Republican Party released the following statement:
“Kim Gardner has received more that $200,000 from George Soros groups,” said Sam Cooper[,] Executive Director of Republican Party. “Missourians should see this for what it is, a political hit job. This law has never been prosecuted in this way and it is safe to say if Eric Greitens wasn’t governor, it wouldn’t have been this time either. We have a progressive anti-law enforcement Democrat wanting to single-handedly oust a law-and-order governor. We look forward to a bipartisan committee of legislators elected by people across Missouri to find out what’s really going on – ensuring St. Louis liberals aren’t controlling the future of our state.”

Apparently George Soros used his vast wealth to corner the duct tape futures market.
Getting indicted doesn’t exactly equate with “law and order”.
A reminder that some people never get out of junior high school.
Today Missouri Governor Eric Greitens (r) was indicted for a felony.

From Eric Greitens (r), via social media:
Eric Greitens
As I have said before, I made a personal mistake before I was Governor. I did not commit a crime.
With today’s disappointing and misguided political decision, my confidence in our prosecutorial system is shaken, but not broken. I know this will be righted soon.
The people of Missouri deserve better than a reckless liberal prosecutor who uses her office to score political points.
I look forward to the legal remedies to reverse this action.
This will not for a moment deter me from doing the important work of the great people of Missouri.
Some of the responses:
I’m putting your mugshot on my Winter Solstice cards. Thoughts and prayers.
Then please step down and stop embarrassing Missouri.
You may want to pre-record some footage of you firing guns for your next campaign ad. If you’re convicted of a felony you won’t be allowed to own a firearm. #thoughts&prayers
Bashing our state’s legal system does not look good on you. Stand up like a man.
Take responsibility for your actions.
I will add that at the very least it is nice to see the dimocraps have so little to run on that they are recycling McCarthyism.
Uh, does someone want to tell him that Joseph McCarthy was a republican?
Please, just leave office. You are not fit to represent Christians who actually follow Biblical law.
Uh.
We all know he’s not stepping down even though he should.. the Big Money is too invested in grooming him
The people of Missouri deserve better than a lying hypocrite who is sending the state a on the same path as Kansas.
Bunch of hypocritical bastards. Like all of you big mouthed punks haven’t made bad decisions in your lives. Quick to jump on other people about their mistakes. You people are what’s wrong with society. Can’t mind your own damn business.
This is ironic on so many levels.
You’re a fraud
You should have kept your damn pants on, liar.
The Russian trolls are out in force tonight. God bless you governor…DRAIN THE SWAMP!
That, I believe, is the example which is used in the dictionary definition of cognitive dissonance.
This could only happen in St Louis, biggest Democrat shithole in the state. Stay strong Governor, we support you.
That was so…presidential.
“I am not a crook”.
Ok really that is your statement? Wow! Sounding more like Trump every day!
Covfefe
Blaming Democrats instead of taking responsibility for your own actions. Nice.
damn, how you get out the pokey already? You know somebody?
Yada yada yada
The doings of the DNC, Barack Obama and the Clinton’s.
Damn, someone figured it all out.
Did Trump’s people write this? Or is it that this is just becoming so common? Feel like I’ve heard this before. Yeah, all of the sudden the system is broken when you’re in the crosshairs. Liberal this, liberal that. You’re supposed to be a leader, all you do is blame media and people in power you disagree with. So many have resigned over less, but I bet the donors want their money’s worth. You’ll never be President so give it up.
Wait, see above.
You’re seriously trying to paint yourself as the victim?
You’re right about one thing, we do deserve better.
Have you even a molecule of humility?
You’re the victim. Got it. Thanks for the clarification.
You must have stepped on a lot of toes. Keep up the good fight.
By all accounts toes weren’t involved. You know something the rest of us don’t?

“Gov. Eric Greitens was indicted Thursday afternoon by a St. Louis grand jury on felony invasion of privacy. The charges stem from a 2015 affair and allegations that he threatened to release a nude photograph of the woman, taken while she was blindfolded and her hands were bound”
