Just one more cult of the lost cause.

Oops.

Today:

Trudy Busch Valentine @buschvalentine
As soon as I became aware of an NRA event at Grant’s Farm, I knew I couldn’t just sit on the sidelines. That’s why I’ve made a personal contribution to @MomsDemand, that exceeds the rental fees the NRA is paying to Grant’s Farm for the event.

So, is someone in the family unhappy she’s running?

A few words from Roy Blunt (r)

Roy Blunt (r) [2016 file photo].

Yesterday:

[….]

Senator Roy Blunt @RoyBlunt
The freedom we have as Americans is not guaranteed. It must be secured from one generation to the next.

On Memorial Day, we remember our service members who made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives to secure our freedom.

A few of the responses:

Words roy, just words. Your actions speak much louder than your words.

Thanks for trading our liberty for that amazing DC country club, Roy

Cool. What are you doing to keep my daughter safe in her school?

My freedom is infringed by Republicans allowing weapons of war to be easily accessible in the US.

And let’s not forget the children..that we have determined are an acceptable loss instead of taking action on gun violence. More than 4k in 2020, but your party will continue to do nothing.

I’m so excited for the end of your political career.

And upon your retirement, what have you done while in service? Obstruction? Unfair packing of the courts? I can’t think of ANYTHING else.

Yet you dishonor them daily by failing yourself to protect the democracy they fought for. Your obstructionist partisan behavior steps all over freedom and potential this great experiment promises. Shame on you. Your party and power over country is the way you chose to go out [….]

Says the party trying to overthrow democracy?!?!? Right!

American Children be slaughtered in school isn’t FREEDOM. Our Military doesn’t want their weapons used against their Children. #BanAssaultWeaponsNow #GunControlNow

Please support the expansion of background checks on all gun sales. The 4th graders of Ulvade were more important than your stock portfolio and your NRA blood money.

The legacy of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice should not be so that someone can legally purchase an AR-15 along with thousands of rounds of ammunition and go out a kill a bunch of school children and elderly shoppers, Roy!

Your party dishonors their sacrifice every day with attacks on democracy and the rule of law.

March for Our Lives:

In Kansas City, Missouri on March 24, 2018:

“Protect people…”

“Change the damn law…”

“Thoughts and Prayers don’t stop bullets…”

“Background checks on every gun sale”

“A gun should not have more rights than a child”

“Shooting my mouth off…”

“Am I next?”

“I am not a target”

We’re still protesting this shit. It’ll continue until it’s fixed.

This evening:

Then:

Jason Kander @JasonKander
I deleted a tweet about my anger about Republican politicians and guns.

Not because I don’t stand by the feeling or because anyone disagreed with me (y’all seemed to be rooting me on).

I deleted it because it just didn’t add anything and I wasn’t proud of it.

So innocuous.

In the metro Kansas City area:

Flintlocks only? Or, wheellocks, too? Apparently, nothing too dangerous, right?

Just asking.

Denny Hoskins, guns, massacre, right wingnut, social media, Texas, thoughts and prayers, Twitter, Uvalde

Denny Hoskins (r) [2017 file photo].

This morning:

Senator Denny Hoskins, CPA @DLHoskins
Please pray for the victims and their families.
[….]
8:44 AM · May 25, 2022

Some of the responses:

Faith without works is dead.

Praying doesn’t seem to work, maybe we should try something else.

Please do something to prevent this from happening again. You weren’t elected for your ability to pray, you were elected to pass laws.

Your prayers mean absolutely NOTHING!!! You are a disgrace!

Prayers do not stop bullets common sense gun laws would be a fresh approach. Your pro birth but post birth children are collateral damage it’s GUNS no matter how many children die
[….]

This is what Dennys answer is to school shootings. 212 mass shootings in our country so far this yr, when will it happen in Mo.? Blame the elected officials who get rich off the NRA to pass laws that favor GUNS over your child’s life.
[….]

No outrage only prayers that don’t stop bullets
[….]

You passed #SAPA which was opposed by law enforcement and would prevent federal authorities from helping when (not if) there’s a school shooting in Missouri. You’ve made it easier to buy guns.

You don’t care about any of these people. Spare is your false prayers.

Log off, Denny.

#moleg

Obviously we’ve been praying for over 20 years. It doesn’t seem to be working because it keeps happening and you all are complicit and choose unfettered access to guns over living, breathing human beings. So you too can STFU.
