Marks flying their flags:

Did not get the recent memos about Mike Pence (r):

There were a few more of these, but we couldn’t get the camera set in time.

Bad combover. Check. Too long red tie. Check. Orange spray tan. Check. Tiny hands. Check. Cluelessness. Check…

Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia, demonstration, flags, Israel, missouri, open carry, protest

Interesting. I can honestly say I’ve never seen anything quite like it before.

Early this afternoon in west central Missouri:

On an overpass on U.S. Highway 50 in Warrensburg, Missouri - November 14, 2015.

On an overpass on U.S. Highway 50 in Warrensburg, Missouri – November 14, 2015.

I spoke with one of the participants as the group was taking down their flags and banner (“Arrest Obama”) at the end of their two hour long demonstration. When asked he stated that they had received a mixed response – there were supportive passersby and a few people flipped them off. We spoke of public demonstrations, the First Amendment, the student protests at the University of Missouri, last night’s terrorism in Paris, and Hillary. Apparently they believe we’re next and that Americans will wake up when the inevitable attack occurs. They definitely don’t like Hillary Clinton. I didn’t ask if that was more or less than Obama. They definitely believe in open carry.

Sign Wars

The Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia flies below the Stars and Stripes near a highway in west central Missouri.

Detail – Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia below the Stars and Stripes.

We’ve driven back and forth on this highway for almost twenty years. Shortly after the November 2008 General Election we drove past a location and for the first time saw (or noticed) the Confederate flag flying below the Stars and Stripes.

Today I brought along my small camera – as we drove by we noticed the flag was out. I wasn’t quick enough with the camera on the first pass, so we found a crossover and backtracked. The resolution with the small camera from a distance at highway speed is not the best – it leaves a bit to be desired when it comes to image clarity.

I have a question. Uh, didn’t the Confederate States of America lose the Civil War? Why do people continue to fly and display the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia in this fashion? It’s not exactly the same as being a fan of the local professional football franchise. Just curious.

Earlier in the day as we were out and about we spotted this vehicle stopped at a traffic signal:

The triumphal antidote. “Had Enough? Vote Democrat.” on the left and “Obama 2008” on the right.
