Fancy that, it’s not Tom Schweich’s (r). We already knew it wouldn’t be Chris Koster’s (D).

A petition at the White House site:

We petition the Obama Administration to:

Revoke The Tennessee Religious Viewpoints Anti-discrimination Act

Tennessee governor Bill Haslam has just received a bill that allows and encourages anti-gay bullying in the name of “religious freedom.”

The ACLU warns that the bill, SB 1793/HB 1547, “crosses the line from protecting religious freedom into creating systematic imposition of some students’ personal religious viewpoints on other students.”

“Should this pass, students with a range of religious beliefs, as well as non-believers, would routinely be required to listen to religious messages or participate in religious exercises that conflict with their own beliefs,” the ACLU adds.

No Democrats filed in the 54th Legislative District against incumbent Representative (and Speaker Pro Tem) Denny Hoskins (r). Representative Dean Dohrman (r), legislative yes man and freshman representive, who narrowly won the 51st Legislative District seat in an open race with Gary Grigsby (D) in 2012 is facing a rematch in 2014. The 51st and 54th are neighboring districts.

The end result? Denny Hoskins (r) is free to prop up Dean Dohrman’s (r) campaign coffers since Representative Hoskins won’t have to spend any appreciable amount of money on his reelection effort.

SECOND REGULAR SESSION

HOUSE BILL NO. 2185

97TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY

INTRODUCED BY REPRESENTATIVES HURST (Sponsor), MILLER, POGUE AND ROSS (Co-sponsors).

6378H.01I     D. ADAM CRUMBLISS, Chief Clerk

AN ACT

To repeal section 644.051, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to water pollution.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Section 644.051, RSMo, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 644.051, to read as follows:

[….]

[However, nothing shall prevent the department from taking action to assure protection of the environment and human health.] [to be removed from the statute]

[….]

[emphasis added]

This is a good idea because no one thinks protection of the environment and human health is that important?
