With a dollar.

From the Missouri Ethics Commission [pdf]:

….all individuals and campaign finance committees required to file campaign finance disclosure reports must electronically report any contribution by a single contributor, over $5,000, to the Missouri Ethics Commission. The contribution must be reported to the Commission within 48 hours of receiving the contribution and included in the committee’s next full campaign finance disclosure report….

We’ve been noticing these campaign contributions over the past week or so, via the Missouri Ethics Commission:

C071362 11/04/2013 CITIZENS FOR STEVE STENGER McCulloch for Prosecutor Committee 1036 Durham Garden Dr. Dardenne Prairie MO 63368 11/4/2013 $5,005.00

C071362 11/06/2013 CITIZENS FOR STEVE STENGER Citizens to Elect Mike OMara 19 Lowery Estates Dr. Florissant MO 63031 11/6/2013 $5,001.00

C071362 11/07/2013 CITIZENS FOR STEVE STENGER Eastern Missouri Laborers’ Educational and Benevolent Fund 3450 Hollenberg Drive Bridgeton MO 63044 11/7/2013 $5,001.00

C071362 11/08/2013 CITIZENS FOR STEVE STENGER J.M. Marschuetz Construction Co. 15 Truitt Dr. Eureka MO 63025 11/8/2013 $5,001.00

C071362 11/11/2013 CITIZENS FOR STEVE STENGER CHIPP Political Account 1401 Hampton Ave., 3rd Floor St Louis MO 63139 11/11/2013 $5,005.00

C071362 11/12/2013 CITIZENS FOR STEVE STENGER Hoisting Engineers Local 513 Political & Educational Fund 3449 Hollenberg Dr. Bridgeton MO 63044 11/12/2013 $5,001.00

[emphasis added]

So everyone else knows they made the contribution right away, eh?

Steve Stenger (D) is a candidate [pdf] for St. Louis County Executive.

Stenger to make challenge to Dooley official on Tuesday

October 14, 2013 4:15 pm

By Steve Giegerich

One of the region’s worst-kept secrets will burst open Tuesday with the official announcement that St. Louis County Councilman Steve Stenger will challenge incumbent Charlie Dooley for the county executive post in 2014.

The two men will face off in an August Democratic primary.

Stenger is scheduled to announce his intentions at an afternoon press conference in downtown Clayton.

He will be joined by labor leaders and other county officials who have broken with Dooley since a spate of scandals broke over the executive branch of county government….

Ah, those single dollars are an immediate and very public message.
