Principles of International Law Recognized in the Charter of the Nüremberg Tribunal and in the Judgment of the Tribunal, 1950.

Principle IV
The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him.

Yesterday:

Homeland Security @DHSgov
It is absolutely sickening to compare ICE law enforcement agents to the Gestapo.

Attacks and demonization of ICE and our partners is wrong. ICE officers are now facing a 413% increase in assaults.

Our message is clear: DO NOT come to this country illegally. If you do, we will arrest you, deport you and you will never return.

Wouldn’t be a problem if they just bothered to wear their brown shirts, Sam Browne belts, and arm bands, eh?

Noticed:

You know you’re winning when you post “We are NOT the Gestapo!”

Some of those responses:

Trump is going to be mad that DHS put out a post that didn’t mention how lucky we are to have Trump.

When does the container ship with your Brown Shirts arrive in port from China?

Maybe Homeland Security should be renamed Gestapo too. Because, well, what we see now in the streets has nothing… to see… with a democracy.
Or the fascists in charge of this for now can also resign and giving back the Homeland security to responsible people…
They are so embarrassing….

If it threatens and acts like the gestapo, it’s a gestapo. They just keep proving the point.

They forget that they are arresting people who are here legally and are US citizens. So yes Gestapo seems to fit.

I mean if they stopped acting like the Gestapo people would stop comparing ICE to the Gestapo. We have no need for Gestapo tactics.

If it goosesteps like a…

Homeland Security can deny all they want that they are not Gestapo, but we see the same tactics , the same lack of empathy and honesty that the Nazi armband wearing criminals did under Hitler. The similarities are spot on. Just because they deny it doesn’t change the facts.

Perhaps wearing masks, not identifying themselves and not producing warrants might be a start to figuring out this conundrum.

If the jackboot fits…

No they are SS…. But with GESTAPO manners.

They aren’t the gestapo. The gestapo wore identifiable uniforms and didn’t burn through money like a California wildfire.

Sarcasm, probably.

It’s true, they are not the Gestapo. They are more like the SA.

Yeah, sarcasm.

Gestapo says what?

And on and on.

Today:

Mark Alford
[February 25, 2024]
I’m committed to serving ALL 772,047 constituents in the 4th congressional district, Republican, Democrat, independent, political agnostic.
So when I get comments like this from [….] on a Sunday scripture we post, I have to remind myself of that, suck it up and move on.
When I was on tv I wanted everyone to like me and watch our station. Once I got into politics, I quickly realized I can’t worry about being liked. Simply do what’s right, stand for what is right and follow God’s voice every day.
This is a spiritual battle, and our nation is at stake.
Love you ALL! And I do mean all.
~Mark

“…on a Sunday scripture we post…”

On the social media page in question:

Official page of Congressman Mark Alford | Proudly representing Missouri’s 4th Congressional District

That opened the door.

Avoid the end by avoiding the beginning.

Good look, that, a member of Congress naming someone and punching down.

As for the rhetorical slap fest on orthodoxy, we don’t have a dog in that fight.

Probably not attributable to Ghandi.

Where ya gonna park your car?

Denny Hoskins (r) [2022 file photo].

Spin, via email addressed to constituents, from Denny Hoskins (r):

Greetings! Adversity comes before every great victory, and that is never truer than as someone working within the Missouri Senate.

This week I was met with bitter news. I was unexpectedly removed as the Chair for the Committee on Economic Development and Tax Policy during a press conference held on Jan. 23, 2024. I was also removed from the Appropriations Committee. From what I understand this was not due to a failure to fulfill my duties as a chair or committee member. Rather, it seems to relate to the use of certain strategies used on the Senate Floor to pass initiative petition (IP) reform. It also comes after I voted alone against Senate Bill 748, which extends Missouri’s law relating to the federal reimbursement allowance (FRA).

Removing a senator from their position as chair hasn’t occurred during session in over a decade, and it is completely unheard of in our Senate’s history for a group of senators to lose their positions as committee chairs all at once. In a more comical development, they also moved my parking spot further away. I’ve heard leadership discussed removing my office furniture as well. Unfortunately, you can’t make this stuff up folks.

On top of that, these decisions were made without any attempts to compromise or discuss solutions directly with me, and I can’t help but feel it is a punitive action meant to try and silence me as I work to bring my conservative ideals, and the ideals of my constituents, to the forefront of the discussion on the Senate Floor.

Despite this, I will remain steadfast in pushing for the immediate discussion and passing of IP reform on the Senate floor. IP reform is a priority of conservatives throughout the state and I will do everything in my power to make sure it is a priority here in the Senate Chamber. We cannot wait until the last day of session to pass IP reform like we have previously.

I hope to open negotiations with my colleagues to help us all move forward in our work.

[….]

“…certain strategies…”

Translation: “reactionary obstruction”

“…In a more comical development, they also moved my parking spot further away. I’ve heard leadership discussed removing my office furniture as well. Unfortunately, you can’t make this stuff up folks….”

This is done all the time in Jefferson City.

The cult of the victim.

Sure. The goal of curtailing and effectively eliminating initiative petitions for Missouri citizens by using obstructionist tactics is just so democratic. The irony escapes Denny Hoskins (r).

“…I hope to open negotiations with my colleagues to help us all move forward in our work…”

Sure. The republicans have controlled the General Assembly for over twenty years. What gives anyone the impression that they’ll change the way they do business any time soon, if ever?

What a clown show.

A whine connoisseur. Go figure. As if Leni Riefenstahl was available?

There is much hilarity in the responses:

They make documentaries about people who are inspiring. There’s nothing inspiring about an attorney general who repeatedly files frivolous lawsuits against already-cash-strapped school districts.

He even had a title in mind – Triumph des Willens.

Yeah! Why isn’t Hollywood doing the story about a man from humble beginnings, who rose to power, ready to take on the challenge of removing rights from marginalized communities, subverting election results, and protecting wealthy special interest groups… a real hero

I said it before and I will say it again, I have no problem with your upbringing. I am proud of where you came from. Your positions now, your hatred and bigotry are problems for me. Your policies are trash and deserve to be in a circular file.

Awww. Whining isn’t cute.

Schmitty, you have been worthless as AG; there isnevery reason to believe you would be even more worthless in the Senate. Perhaps giving tours is your untimate job advancement.

Careful, your misogyny and stereotypes are showing

But what have you done for the State of MO in your current job? How much money have you wasted on frivolous lawsuits that we are all paying for?

Any guesses?

Josh Hawley (r) [2016 file photo].

Yesterday:

Josh Hawley @HawleyMO
The corporate left begins the banning of books. Openly and without apology. Welcome to the new normal
[….]
8:08 PM · Feb 22, 2021

The comments are hilarious:

You incited an insurrection and you’re polling at 1% for 2024… would you say it was worth it?

Thanks Josh. Any chance the book cancellation is about anything the author might have done to depress sales and turn off would be buyers?

Something about a raised fist? Just guessing.

Great brand brah

A school district in your state banned Kurt Vonnegut’s “Slaughterhouse Five,” but I’m sure you were fine with it.

Your book is available for pre-order–on Amazon, no less. It has not been banned. Also, you should resign over your role in the Jan. 6 riots that endangered your colleagues and killed five people.

You break your oath of office every day you don’t resign.

It’s so funny that party that celebrates banning books from public libraries gets in a hissy fit over private companies deciding what books they want on their own shelves. It’s almost like 2A is the first amendment they recognize.

Has your book been banned? I missed that. You must think your followers are stupid.

Well, if his followers are buying the “banned” rhetoric, are they not, in fact stupid? So I think he knows exactly who is followers are.

More grievance.

I don’t think you have enough of it in your heart.

Also, I am sure you can print your own book.

Timmy McVeigh, Junior, says what?

I think you have taken the rejection of your manifesto in a strange direction. Maybe publishers felt you were so off kilter that nobody wanted to hear what you had to say? Accept the feedback, it’s a gift, grow from it.

It’s the market. You love free markets. The free markets know your people don’t buy books as often and don’t want to offend those that do.

Capitalism.

“My God, they’re using our own weapons against us!”

Sorry Josh, insurrectionists don’t get to publish books. Do a Twitter thread. That’s all it’ll take.

It’s a free market.

America is sick of hearing you wing nuts gripe about not being heard.

Show some of the “Personal responsibility” you brag about and keep quiet.

Maybe that can’t be expected from people who supported overturning an election and a violent insurrection.

So the new “conservative approach is to have government FORCE corporations to carry speech they find necessary.

You’re a constitutional lawyer
Tell us what part of the constitution says the government gets to decide what speech is carried by a corporation.

Why are you so against the free market? What, you want the government to *force* bookt sellers to carry those books? Isn’t that kinda… Communist?

Fascist, actually.

I’ll might buy your book a year from now when it’s being sold at Dollar Tree or at a garage sale, so I can line my kitty liter pan!

Why would a private company want to associate with an author who lied in order to subvert an election and incited violence against the seat of the US government?

It’s the old normal. Publishers never did like to be associated with things the majority of people disapprove. This is why most fringe movements feature a wide selection of self-published literature, stapled together by the author.

The alternative is just as dystopic: publishers are forced to sell books they don’t want to sell. Now that is what sounds un-American.

Personally, I would be happy for you to fire up your stapler. You can make it look pretty snappy with PhotoShop, ya know. That’s your right.

I thought y’all loved it when private companies did whatever they wanted.

Wait, you want Congress to have more control over corporations, for example telling publishers what books they can and cant publish?

Wait, you want to tell a private corporation how to run their business? Whatever happen to Capitalism? Whatever happen to deregulation?

If he had a third side of his face to talk out of, he would.

What about his ass? He seems to talk out of it plenty.

Now that you mention it.

Better than inciting an insurrection openly and without apology. When are you going to resign?

Well?

Why do you believe that your words and actions should have no consequences?

Just bad business to publish a book that no one is interested in.

Heh.

It’s not censorship or anything else of the kind. It is akin to a publisher deciding not to publish Hitler’s Mein Kampf because it’s simply hate speech from traitors and cowards.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: There is no such thing as “the corporate left.”

Oxymoron.

Private companies choose what merchandise they want to carry. They can’t be forced to carry political and idealogical filth.

Feelings still hurt Josh? Need a safe space?

Seditionist. Don’t try try to change the subject.

That raised fist image is going to follow him everywhere.

Hes a f#ucking lawyer???!!! c
Clearly hes smart enough to know better, right? or is law school that easy?

He was a legacy?

Always playing the victim card.

Josh “anything I don’t like or understand is the left” Hawley.

Are you still whining about your former book deal man?

Representative Vicky Hartzler (r) [2016 file photo].

This evening:

Rep. Vicky Hartzler @RepHartzler
After months of talking about bridging our political divides, House Democrats are now trying to silence dissenting opinions from Republicans.

This rule change is an outright assault on the rights of the minority and debilitates our ability to fully represent our constituents.
[….]

Chutzpah. On so many levels.

The comments are, as always, priceless:

Look at you, one day in and #SlickVick over here with more lies looking to add more $$$ to the $2M pot she’s already made for herself at our expense.

You’re a seditionist, Vicky. A traitor to the nation. You will go down in history as the worst of the worst. Congratulations.

No worries. I try to be nice to the deranged and delusional.

Just wait until you find out what Mitch McConnell has been doing for years.

Oh, she knows.

Ahh we care about the cost of things now

Resign.

Boo hoo cry about it

You don’t speak for your constituents when you rely on gerrymandering and voter suppression to win your seats.

Considering that the only constituent that Hartzler represents is herself, I can’t say that I’m especially concerned.

Boy, if you’re upset about dissenting opinions being made silent in the House, wait until you hear how many dissenting opinions you’re trying to silence in the absurd and reckless electoral college challenge you’ve signed onto.

You are the one fostering the divide by denying the legal election

I’m listening oh yeah not buying it

Sorry, Vicky, elections have consequences. I heard that somewhere once.

After years of Trump…. uh…. you deserve nothing.

You voted to throw out the results of a Presidential election. And you’re going to do it again on Wednesday.

You are a fucking traitor.

I’m sorry, you’re complaining about the Dems “maintain a grip on power” when you just supported an attempted coup by the loser of the Presidential election with fake charges of election fraud? Yeah, you gave up that right, when you tried to kill off our democracy.

Your boy is trying to overturn an election and openly breaking the law. STFU

You really are the worst kind of self-serving liar. Shame.

STFU, seditionist. Fake ass patriot.

You do nothing in Washington
You sit on B committees
You don’t pass laws
You are enslaved to your corporate donors
You benefit from the laws you vote for; and
You are a seditionist

Ike Skelton once held that seat
He delivered for Missouri
You deliver for #SlickVick

There’s that.

Sounds like a #snowflake statement.

Lol sure, Republicans are famously long suffering protectors of rules and norms. Don’t remember your outrage when your senate colleagues sharted out a supreme during the middle of a presidential election. Save your hysterics.

“Fake!”

Josh Hawley (r) [2016 file photo].

Josh Hawley (r) is such a robot that he can’t even bother to find or use original attack talking points.

This morning:

Josh Hawley @HawleyMO
Nice to see that even now the media still has time for fake personal attacks. I have done 200! local tv interviews in last year. Nobody in Senate does more. KOLR has agreed to an interview precisely 4 times. Four. I am constantly available and you are constantly turning me down
[….]
7:40 AM · Apr 10, 2020

Some of the responses:

Look what Donald Trump taught him.

He’s Trump’s sanctimonious plus one.

Senator @HawleyMO this is not fake, it’s not personal, it’s not an attack. It is a question. You were on premises in front of a rolling camera with a microphone on. Twice. Are you saying reporters need to agree to your interview times? Did you set the time for @TuckerCarlson?

Hawley’s skin is thinner than Trump’s.

I’m going to go with @JoyRobertson version of this story.

How many town halls have you hosted?

No one in Missouri will deny that you are so eager for a microphone and camera you will knock anyone out of the way to get one.

OTOH, we can totally believe you want no questions of substance, and would rather share the Frozen Fish Heir’s glow than deal with us plebes.

“The most dangerous place to stand in Washington D.C. is any place between Senator Josh Hawley and a live microphone” – Charles P. Pierce

I know some constituents who would love to sit down with you in the Lou. Maybe you should come on by and get to know us.

We have questions and want answers…

He seldom shows up in Kansas City, either. Too busy advancing his career on Fox “News” to speak to the proles.

Such a weak tweet. Too big to talk to Missourians. Come to STL.

This is a terrible look, Senator. You didn’t challenge the substance of the tweet but went on a rambling semi coherent attack. Unfortunately, Tucker Carlson gets more face time with you than home state journalists. You’re the Senator from the Show Me State, so show up!

“Nobody in the Senate does more.”

FFS, you even sound like him now.

Bad combover. Check. Too long red tie. Check. Orange spray tan. Check. Tiny hands. Check. Cluelessness. Check…

Running for higher office already.

Ladders, too.

200 local interviews????? Not in the Missouri media market. Must be somewhere else.

Yeah, I’m calling B.S.

Do you need cheese with that whine?

Heh.

Just because it’s Good Friday doesn’t mean you have to claim you’re being crucified.

Where’s the tests?

She didn’t claim that you never did local interviews, but that you denied them interviews in those two moments. Your response in no way addresses her claims.

If she’s wrong, then respond to her actual claim. Otherwise, your dishonest whining is an embarrassment.

Uh, it’s not fake if it’s true, Joshy.

Why are you whining? Do your job!

Where are the tests and PPE?

You just blocked a critical bill to aid small businesses, all because it also included help for communities on the frontlines, hospitals, and nutrition benefits for those going hungry. Shameful.

Last town hall? You are the swamp bro.

You are not readily available to your constituents. You’re a freaking liar. How about a town hall?

You’re just a pathetic publicity whore.

Sit down you soulless blowhard.

Attorney General, audit, chutzpah, Josh Hawley, ladder climber, missouri, Nocole Galloway, orojection, social media, State Auditor, Twitter, whining

State Auditor Nicole Galloway (D) is living rent free in Senator and former Attorney General Josh Hawley’s (r) head.

Josh Hawley (r) [2016 file photo].

Josh Hawley (r) is publicly whining about an audit released on Thursday about a portion of Hawley’s (r) short tenure as Missouri Attorney General.

From the audit [pdf]:

…In a December 31, 2019, letter (Appendix I, page 435) in response to seeing a draft copy of this report, the AGO formally objected to the inclusion of interview transcripts in this report, and stated the inclusion of these transcripts would be a disclosure of audit working papers, and therefore, a felony violation of Chapter 29, RSMo. The SAO disagrees with this conclusion. Objections to the inclusion of interview transcripts and audit communications citing Chapter 29, RSMo, are without merit. The confidentiality provisions of Chapter 29 are intended to protect the SAO’s working papers from public disclosure. The interpretation that those confidentiality provisions are intended to keep the SAO from disclosing information obtained during the course of the audit is at odds with Chapter 29, RSMo, and Yellow Book requirements, which both require a report of information obtained during an audit be made public. In addition, the statement that the inclusion of working papers as appendices to a public report is unprecedented is not accurate. Including information obtained during an audit as appendices is very common and not unique to this administration. Appendices have been part of audit reports issued by the SAO for decades…

This evening Josh Hawley (r) again took to Twitter:

Josh Hawley @HawleyMO
Don’t think @nicolergalloway attacks on me & other Republicans are 100% political? Now she’s fundraising off of audits! Is it too much to ask that she just do her job – and quit using her office to campaign? #mogov #moleg
[….]
4:46 PM · Feb 9, 2020

Let’s see: projection, chutzpah, entitlement, lack of self awareness, ladder climbing… That’s a lot to pack into one Tweet.

What a maroon.

Of course, there is much hilarity in the responses:

I guess you shouldn’t have given her the ammo now, shouldn’t you? The only one you have to blame is yourself. Stand up and take it like a man.

Projecting. Like Trump.

One word, projection!

These ppl weaponize everything against Republicans..the IRS, the FBI, the FISA Courts. They are truly totalitarian

What a friend they have in Putin.

“Россия” (Russia) – a variant of the Russian presidential flag.

Didn’t you do THE SAME DAMN THING??…Oh wait yes you did and her audit showed it

You’re the worst, Josh

She must be getting close to the target to have so many tweets from you. Also don’t use any of your ‘achievements’ when you attempt to run for office again.

Golden coming from you #senatorflatbed

The Ivy League vision of a flatbed truck.

You didn’t do your job…..you swore to uphold the Constitution and yet you voted to acquit the most corrupt, immoral President in the history of the US.
We will not forget.

You used your office and staff to campaign. Get off your high horse, little Josh. It’s tiring.

‘do her job and quit using her office to campaign’???? That is rich coming from you.

Why Senator!
You seem worried.
#iStandByFBI

Why don’t you worry about serving the people of the state you really don’t represent well?

You have lost all of your credibility and any respect that I may have had for you. It sounds like it isn’t just me either.

You did

VP of trump water carriers. Speaking of doing your job, did you forget your office? When are you gonna come back and face your constituents? You’re a joke.

Lol, you outsourced the AG job while you campaigned for Senate! You are perfect for Trumpian times, a shameless liar and hypocrite. You still don’t want us to have healthcare, even as you lied about it. Weasel.

No one want to listen to your BS anymore. We have no respect for you. We would actually prefer you resign.

You seem like the type that has gotten into a heated argument over FaceTime, only to find out your selfie cam was on. You’re a hypocrite. Resign.

You must be kidding. You never really did your job in MO. Went to the gym and then started campaigning for senate. At least she can point to actual completed tasks

Ouch. That one left a mark.

Dude..you are a political hack extraordinaire. Very recently out took an oath to God and trashed it. You lustily cheered the medaling of a racist and said nothing when a war hero was jackbooted out of the White House! I think the natives call this “speaking with a forked tongue”.

Let’s see… how did Josh get elected Senator? He fundraised off his BS record as AG.

You belong with Trump. You’re both full of shit.

Lol you have to be kidding….what the heck did you do even after you said you weren’t interested in a senatorial position you are such a liar wow
