7th Congressional District, bigot, Eric Burlison, LGBTQIA+, missouri, pearl clutching, social media

Just asking.

This afternoon from Eric Burlison (r):

Rep. Eric Burlison @RepEricBurlison
Having a “family-friendly activity,” drag shows, and a performance by “Crystal Methyd” all on the same stage & in the same afternoon is wrong. Kids shouldn’t be seeing this stuff!

The City of Springfield and Greene County Health should be ashamed to sponsor this event.
1:15 PM · Jun 10, 2023

Give it a rest, you pearl-clutching busybody.

Rhonda Santis works as a drag queen name in Florida, Crystal Methyd works for Missouri. You go with what you’re famous for.

“…all on the same stage & in the same afternoon…” Why, next they’ll be mixing cotton and polyester fibers in their clothing. The nerve.

Different shows for different crowds? Do tell.

Some of the responses:

Take your kids to Hooters, instead.

I bet you watched the Munsters as a Kid. So maybe you should take a seat.
[….]

Apparently the Munsters mixed fibers, too.

We have one in Kansas City today too. Come on by, homophobe. Cleanse yourself.

We had a Pride Festival in Warrensburg on June 3rd. I had a beer from the bar after standing out in the heat covering and photographing the bigots with signs across the street.

The City of Springfield and Greene county as a whole should be ashamed to have such an ignorant bigot representing them.

There’s that.

Former president Donald Trump (r) has been indicted by a grand jury on Federal charges related to classified information. He will appear in a federal courtroom in Miami, Florida on Tuesday.

Read the indictment [pdf].

Bad combover. Check. Too long red tie. Check. Orange spray tan. Check. Tiny hands. Check. Cluelessness. Check…

Much hilarity and hackery from Missouri republicans ensued via social media:

Eric Schmitt (r) [2022 file photo}.

Eric Schmitt @Eric_Schmitt
Joe Biden has now indicted his top political opponent.

Full on Banana Republic stuff.
8:31 PM · Jun 8, 2023

One of the responses:

Chris Kelly @repckelly
You don’t know one single fact about this indictment.
As a lawyer and former Attorney General that is is unethical for a lawyer to cast aspersions on the Court.
You are a disgrace to the office you hold.

Mike Parson (r) [2022 file photo].

Governor Mike Parson @GovParsonMO
We know these aggressive investigations are only taking place because President Trump dares to challenge Joe Biden’s disastrous presidency, and I am deeply concerned for the direction of our country. These political prosecutions must end.
9:29 AM · Jun 9, 2023

One of the responses:

Stay in your lane, governor. If he did crimes he should do time, same as anybody

Attorney General Andrew Bailey @AGAndrewBailey
Never before has a sitting President weaponized the security apparatus of our great nation to take out a political opponent.

This is not the America our Founders knew.
9:42 PM · Jun 8, 2023

One of the responses:

If you commit a crime then you need to be held accountable. If he’s innocent then he has nothing to fear, right?
Stop with the lies AG Bailey. Are you going to uphold the law or just gaslight and spew garbage??

Mike Kehoe (r) [2022 file photo].

Mike Kehoe @MikeLKehoe
Americans deserve to have trust in our nation’s justice system.

Voters in 2024 should choose our next president, not Biden’s politicized DOJ.
8:26 AM · Jun 9, 2023

Some of the responses:

I really wanted to support you b/c you seemed like the old guard republican that believes in liberty and small gov’t… while preserving the rule of law. Sad tweet.

Well you just lost my vote. I was hopeful you would be in the group of Republicans that believed our country and preservation of democracy is more important than protecting a reality TV star that conned America into one term as President. But seems like you’re no different…

Donald Trump, dumbass, indictment, special counsel

Bad combover. Check. Too long red tie. Check. Orange spray tan. Check. Tiny hands. Check. Cluelessness. Check…

“On November 18, 2022, Jack Smith was appointed by Attorney General Merrick B. Garland to serve as the Special Counsel by Order No. 5559-2022.”

On June 8, 2023 a grand jury returned an indictment of Donald Trump (r).

[….]
3. The classified documents TRUMP stored in his boxes included information regarding defense and weapons capabilities of both the United States and foreign countries; United States nuclear programs; potential vulnerabilities of the United States and its allies to military attack; and plans for possible retaliation in response to a foreign attack. The unauthorized disclosure of these classified documents could put at risk the national security of the United States, foreign relations, the safety of the United States military, and human sources and the continued viability of sensitive intelligence collection methods.

4. At 12:00 p.m. on January 20, 2021, TRUMP ceased to be president. As he departed the White House, TRUMP caused scores of boxes, many of which contained classified documents, to be transported to The Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, where he maintained his residence. TRUMP was not authorized to possess or retain those classified documents.

5. The Mar-a-Lago Club was an active social club, which, between January 2021 and August 2022, hosted events for tens of thousands of members and guests. After TRUMP’s presidency, The Mar-a-Lago Club was not an authorized location for the storage, possession, review, display, or discussion of classified documents. Nevertheless, TRUMP stored his boxes containing classified documents in various locations at The Mar-a-Lago Club—including in a ballroom, a bathroom and shower, an office space, his bedroom, and a storage room.
[….]

[….]
17. Pursuant to Executive Order 13526, information classified at any level could be lawfully accessed only by persons determined by an appropriate United States government official to be eligible for access to classified information and who had signed an approved non-disclosure agreement, who received a security clearance, and who had a “need-to-know” the classified information. After his presidency, TRUMP was not authorized to possess or retain classified documents.

18. Executive Order 13526 provided that a former president could obtain a waiver of the “need-to-know” requirement, if the agency head or senior agency official of the agency that originated the classified information: (1) determined in writing that access was consistent with the interest of national security and (2) took appropriate steps to protect classified information from unauthorized disclosure or compromise and ensured that the information was safeguarded in a manner consistent with the order. TRUMP did not obtain any such waiver after his presidency.
[….]

[….]
54. On May 23, 2022, TRUMP met with Trump Attorney 1 and Trump Attorney 2 at The Mar-a-Lago Club to discuss the response to the May 11 Subpoena. Trump Attorney 1 and Trump Attorney 2 told TRUMP that they needed to search for documents that would be responsive to the subpoena and provide a certification that there had been compliance with the subpoena. TRUMP, in sum and substance, made the following statements, among others, as memorialized by Trump Attorney 1:
a. I don’t want anybody looking, I don’t want anybody looking through my boxes, I really don’t, I don’t want you looking through my boxes.
b. Well what if we, what happens if we just don’t respond at all or don’t play ball with them?
c. Wouldn’t it be better if we just told them we don’t have anything here?
d. Well look isn’t it better if there are no documents?
[….]

[….]
62. In sum, between May 23, 2022, and June 2, 2022, before Trump Attorney 1’s review of TRUMP’s boxes in the Storage Room, NAUTA—at TRUMP’s direction—moved
approximately 64 boxes from the Storage Room to TRUMP’s residence and brought to the Storage Room only approximately 30 boxes. Neither TRUMP nor NAUTA informed Trump Attorney 1 of this information.
[….]

[….]
71. Shortly after Trump Attorney 3 executed the false certification, on June 3, 2022, Trump Attorney 1 and Trump Attorney 3 met at The Mar-a-Lago Club with personnel from the Department of Justice and FBI. Trump Attorney 1 and Trump Attorney 3 turned over the Redweld folder containing documents with classification markings, as well as the false certification signed by Trump Attorney 3 as custodian of records. TRUMP, who had delayed his departure from The Mar-a-Lago Club, joined Trump Attorney 1 and Trump Attorney 3 for some of the meeting. TRUMP claimed to the Department of Justice and FBI that he was “an open book.”

72. Earlier that same day, NAUTA and others loaded several of TRUMP’s boxes along with other items on aircraft that flew TRUMP and his family north for the summer.
[….]

[….]
79. From on or about May 11, 2022, through in or around August 2022, in Palm Beach County, in the Southern District of Florida, and elsewhere, the defendants,

DONALD J. TRUMP and
WALTINE NAUTA,

did knowingly combine, conspire, confederate, and agree with each other and with others known and unknown to the grand jury, to engage in misleading conduct toward another person and corruptly persuade another person to withhold a record, document, and other object from an official proceeding, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1512(b)(2)(A), and to corruptly conceal a record, document, and other object from an official proceeding, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1512(c)(1).
[….]

[….]
91. On or about June 3, 2022, in Palm Beach County, in the Southern District of Florida, and elsewhere, the defendant,

DONALD J. TRUMP,

in a matter within the jurisdiction of the judicial branch and executive branch of the United States government, did knowingly and willfully make and cause to be made a materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statement and representation; that is—during a federal grand jury investigation and a federal criminal investigation being conducted by the FBI, TRUMP caused the following false statements and representations to be made to the grand jury and the FBI in a sworn certification executed by Trump Attorney 3:

Last night:

Mark Alford @RepMarkAlford
The political persecution and witch hunt continues for Donald Trump.

I guarantee that if he weren’t running for President this would NOT be happening.

They’re scared s***less that he is actually going to win and when he does, it’s game over. Everything gets exposed.
8:09 PM · Jun 8, 2023

Bullshit.

Some of the responses:

Your guarantee ain’t worth s…!

We see what you did there.

You’ve always been a cheap suit, Mark.

You are a embarrassment.

But what about the crimes?

You are a disgrace to the #ShowMeState

You are embarrassing your constituents.

It would be happening because he is a lifelong criminal. Someone finally managed to nab him; someone he couldn’t bribe, coerce or manipulate.

Go ahead, claim he’s innocent.

Dude you should just be quiet. When you see what they have this will be embarrassing for you.

Actually, it’s called accountability.
[….]

cry harder treason lover.

You’re horrible. You’re an arrogant, mean, nasty little man. We loathed you as a morning Fox 4 anchor and you’re just as bad in Congress.

Keep crying.

You’re an even worse congressman than you were a news anchor. What an embarrassment to MO

This tweet alone is sufficient evidence that you are utterly unfit for office. Disgusting.

Leadership? Yikes

Are you tweeting this off Putin’s teleprompter?

“Make America Great Again” – in Russian.

This traitor has believed he was above the rule of law if you believe in the rule of law and believe in America this is a just day. It’s a sad day because he thought he could skirt the rule of law. NO ONE IS ABOVE the rule of law.

You can’t guarantee anything

They (democrats) have nothing to do with this. This is all on Trump, himself. He was given multiple chances to turn over those TS documents. Not only did he not do it, but he lied about having them.

It’s laughable that you’re lawmaker.

In a normal world, you’d have a sense of shame at spouting such nonsense.

No, not Mark Alford (r).

Clown.
You
And him

So classified docs mean nothing to you?

Apparently not.

Ever heard of the Presidential Records Act? Ever heard of obstruction?

Apparently not.

I guarentee you it would be happening. He announced so early because he knew he was toast and was trying to shield himself. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.

You’re embarrassing yourself.

I’ve watched you read a teleprompter for what feels like my whole life. Find some integrity.

A grand jury of his peers voted for the indictment. It’s not a witch hunt. He’s not a victim. He has confessed to doing it. Get a clue.

You’re a joke.

WTF?

You seem to forget that this started well over a year ago when Trump decided to blow off the request to return all the missing documents. He did not so the FBI executed a search warrant. Then they were lied to. Trump is finally being held accountable.

Trump isn’t running for office, he’s running from accountability.

Sit down.

You’re pathetic

You are pathetic.

It’s your view that former presidents should steal classified documents, keep them at their homes unsecured, lie about having them and refuse to return them when asked? Really?

You didn’t say he’s innocent

Um…the investigation was underway before he declared his candidacy.

Sweetie, we know all of you feel compelled to follow the GOP script on this. But maybe think of Trump as a real person and not an untouchable king? Nobody is above the law. Let the courts do their job.

Shame on you!! He broke multiple laws and is now suffering the consequence for his bad actions. What exactly do you teach your kids? You should lie, cheat and steal and then whine when you get caught? Pathetic!

Nah. It’s the constant criming.

Being dumb doesn’t make it go away.

Of course this would be happening.

He decided to run for POTUS again in hopes they wouldn’t jail a sitting President.

No one is above the law. Especially a former or sitting President.

Among his indictments is ESPIONAGE, Mark.
E S P I O N A G E !
Take that seriously. FFS.

So you would vote for a violent serial lying sexual abusing insurrectionist traitor?

Please grow up and say the word “shitless.”

Trump is a career criminal.

He is not persecuted.

It took him 50+ years but he finally came up against an opponent he can’t bankrupt or bribe.

#TrumpIndictment
Justice is truth in action.

Weird how he hasn’t exposed anything except his own crimes. Why does he have to be elected again? How is that game over?

They have meds for delusions, skippy.

You should sit this one out. He stole classified documents, then refused to give them back. If you do this, they will arrest you to Mark. Don’t be stupid for once. No one is above the law.

You are embarrassing yourself. No one is above the law. He is being held accountable for his actions. He broke the law.

If you think *some* people are above the law, you have no business being in your position and should resign. Shame on you.

Wipe the cheeto dust from your face, take out the earwig and step away from the teleprompter you arrogant little excuse for a man. Its amazing how anyone thought you had morals and ethics.

The DOJ began their probe months before he announced his candidacy. Stop your false narrative. He thought announcing would save him. Do you support espionage?

He was indicted by a grand jury. Not by the Democrats. Not by the President. Not by the DOJ. Trump did this all to himself.

And here you are defending him. The party of “law and order” can’t even police themselves from keeping a criminal con man at the top of their ticket.

There are people in the news all the time going to jail for mishandling sensitive documents. Your guarantee doesn’t hold water Mark. This has nothing to do with his candidacy and everything to do with his criminality. Have some respect for yourself.

Life expectancy in the US has fallen for 2 consecutive years. Incentivizing healthier lifestyles should not be controversial, but Democrats are making it such.

The “N” in SNAP stands for nutrition. It is time to put nutrition back in the program.
11:13 AM · Jun 7, 2023

“…Life expectancy in the US has fallen for 2 consecutive years…”

Why would that be? Has something been going on for the last two or three years?

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
National Center for Health Statistics
Excess Deaths Associated with COVID-19
Provisional Death Counts for Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

…Estimates of excess deaths can provide information about the burden of mortality potentially related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including deaths that are directly or indirectly attributed to COVID-19. Excess deaths are typically defined as the difference between the observed numbers of deaths in specific time periods and expected numbers of deaths in the same time periods. This visualization provides weekly estimates of excess deaths by the jurisdiction in which the death occurred. Weekly counts of deaths are compared with historical trends to determine whether the number of deaths is significantly higher than expected.

Counts of deaths from all causes of death, including COVID-19, are presented. As some deaths due to COVID-19 may be assigned to other causes of deaths (for example, if COVID-19 was not diagnosed or not mentioned on the death certificate), tracking all-cause mortality can provide information about whether an excess number of deaths is observed, even when COVID-19 mortality may be undercounted. Additionally, deaths from all causes excluding COVID-19 were also estimated. Comparing these two sets of estimates — excess deaths with and without COVID-19 — can provide insight about how many excess deaths are identified as due to COVID-19, and how many excess deaths are reported as due to other causes of death. These deaths could represent misclassified COVID-19 deaths, or potentially could be indirectly related to the COVID-19 pandemic (e.g., deaths from other causes occurring in the context of health care shortages or overburdened health care systems)…

Some of the responses to Mark Alford (r):

Hmm….what happened in the last two years that your party likes to pretend was just a cold but we lost 1.1 million Americans that could have been lessened by following preventative protocols??

Covid, Mark, it was Covid.

Wonder why ppl died last few years?

So you’re saying our healthcare is bad Mark?

Uh…HEY uh Mark…uh…nutrition is important…uh but the 2 year decline in life expectancy wasn’t because of poor nutrition. My gawd you are really bad at his leading stuff. This tweet of yours makes me think you might be a parody account. Tell me about the championship rings.

You should be promoting access to health care then instead of voting to defund Medicare and Medicaid. You know SNAP recipients can’t afford to eat healthy.

The “A” in SNAP stands for assistance. It is time to put assistance back in the program and stop placing roadblocks that prevent Americans from getting the help they need.
