And a Fascist, to boot.

Mark Alford (r) [2024 file photo].

Today:

Congressman Mark Alford
[February 5, 2026]

ICE agents wear masks for one reason: to make it home alive to their families.
Doxxing is real. Threats are real. Protecting law enforcement shouldn’t be controversial. [….]

Because masked paramilitaries kidnapping people off the street in violation of the Constitution are only following orders?

“Fuck Ice” “This is some NAZI bullshit”

Some of the responses:

Criminals also wear masks to hide their identification so they can make it home to their families

I’m calling ice criminals

[….] we’re calling ice criminals who are afraid of being doxed for acting like a criminal enterprise. I wonder why other administrations have had no/hardly any issues concerning ice, but now we’re having massive scale issues with it. Go back to the shadows like they were and quit treating humans like garbage.

just like your j6 heroes

if being an American means bending over and kissing trumps ass and believing everything that his administration is saying and being ok with everything his administration is doing, then I don’t want anything to do with it. Hopefully all you people who live in his alternative reality and wearing Rose color glasses wake up and realize what is happening soon

You can support ICE and want them to do their job ethically and morally. The two aren’t mutually exclusive.

They are now a masked death squad. Dissolve, prosecute, and move on to something else.

the DHS is enforcing administrative law with a militarized police force. It is unnecessary and dangerous. If they were truly concerned about the immigration problem, they would have hired lawyers and administrators to work on the giant backlog of immigrants waiting for their paperwork to go through and they would have properly funded the INS. The current immigration push is racist and based on a white nationalist narrative

undercover operations. This is not that. This is Nazi bullshit.

Those are not “dramatic changes” those are the baseline rules for law enforcement in the United States.

Protecting the Constitution shouldn’t be controversial.

How about visible badge numbers ?

try that again…. the situation is “masked men with guns” are being accused of violating constitutional rights, and are actively using “the law” to do so. To aide their efforts, they’re using facial recognition software to target and harass otherwise “peaceful protesters” simply for wanting the “masked men with guns” out of their city. I don’t think this in an equal measure scenario…. and “pride” doesn’t come from a shameful situation: those protesters shouldn’t feel the NEED to be on the street defending their homes anymore than an officer acting in good faith of the law should hide their identity or intention from the public.

All of those proposals look reasonable. Trump is the champion of doxxing. No one else in law enforcement, the judiciary, public office etc. wears masks.

What percentage of federal, state and local law enforcement are routinely wearing masks and no identification? How many government officials (executive, legislative and judicial) officials are wearing masks and no identification?

WRONG! Legitimate law enforcement that is not violating the Constitution and being the President’s goon squad do NOT need masks and ICE should be held to the same standard as law enforcement everywhere.
Heck, even the GESTAPO (which they are emulating as anyone who knows their history recognizes) did not wear masks. Only crooks wear masks to hide their faces when committing crimes.

So if this is the case, should local police also wear masks? For that matter, should All Law Enforcement officers wear masks? Should Court Judges wear masks? Should the military wear masks? By wearing masks they are not only hiding their identity, but also they are not being held accountable for their actions!
Why do you think robbers wear masks, because they don’t want to get caught doing something illegal! Same thing for ICE agents!

That’s funny. My father was a cop for years and never wore a mask. He even wore his name and his badge number on his uniform.

Most law enforcement officers don’t wear masks and do display their names and badges on their uniforms. There is NO good reason for ICE or CBP to operate any differently than any other legitimate law enforcement agency

bull! They wear masks to frighten people and hide their identities because they’re violating people’s constitutional rights

They why don’t other better trained law enforcement officers wear them?🤔

nope, a person existing in a private capacity can wear whatever face covering they desire when they desire. A government employee is subject to public records act and we demand transparency from all law enforcement. DHS does not have extra authority to arrest, detain, assault, murder anyone without probable cause and/or RAS of a crime. Fucking arresting people because of the color of their skin is against everything America was built on. So, I was trained to eliminate facists and if I have to, it would be my honor.

you really do hate the constitution, dont you?

Protestors are private citizens, not agents of the government with the power they hold. Can you seriously not tell the difference?

If they do the job properly they wouldn’t need to worry. All other law enforcement have identification and don’t wear covering.

Weird. Local law enforcement don’t wear masks…it’s as if following laws and doing it the right way would negate needing to wear masks.

We don’t let city cops — who are much better vetted and trained than ICE and CBP agents and who face at least as much danger as ICE and CBP agents — wear masks. They wear badges with identifying numbers or name tags. ICE and CBP agents should be held to the same standard.

So why don’t local police and sheriff’s officers conceal their identities as well? They actually are tied to the localities they police so i think that the potential for people seeking retribution against them would be even more of a danger for them.

Local cops don’t wear mask Mr. Alford…..why is that ??

If they follow the law there is no reason they should be afraid.

Cops don’t cover their faces plus name tags and badge numbers.

They wear mask so complaints cannot be filed against them or named in lawsuits when they violate the Constitutional rights of individuals. No matter what the Admin says, they are not immune if they commit a crime. It’s pretty hard to sue someone when you can’t ID them

Law abiding law enforcement officers and military personnel do not wear masks.
If you have nothing to hide, hide nothing, including your face.

Odd. My local law enforcement doesn’t usually wear masks, and they make it home alive. People harassing ICE agents and their families should be held accountable, but that doesn’t mean agents should be able to hide from accountability for their own actions.
Of course, if they actually follow the proposed changes, they won’t have so many people mad at them in the first place.

If the actions of these men and women who are wearing masks are legal and moral then they have no reason to hide their identity.

What are they doing that would make them afraid? Why didn’t they need to do this before?

afraid of accountability

Police officers do a much tougher job in the same streets every day and they never wear masks unless they’re suspicious of potential harm through inhaling something during a bust. These guys where masks because they know what they’re doing is messed up on some level and don’t want their faces to be seen.

If ICE agents weren’t acting illegally and treating human beings with an astounding lack of respect for human life, they wouldn’t have the pushback that they do.
If you’re going to be a violent and unsafe person, you’re going to get called out. The public has a right to know who which of their neighbors are committing evil acts so that we know who to avoid.
If you cared about the safety of your constituents, you would understand that.

Mark Alford (r) [2025 file photo]

No Sir, they wear masks to not be held accountable! Every single day police officers go out and risk their lives unmasked and names on their shirts, that’s what true law enforcement does.

Law Enforcement should not be executing people.

There’s that.

So why do ICE agents get to but police can’t? The double standard is wild.

Or to abuse their authority and escape accountability…

IF ICE officers are law enforcement, they should follow what all other law enforcement officers (who also work in sometimes dangerous situations) have to do: provide identification and not cover their faces. They are not the secret police! We need accountability. Without this, these folks are acting with impunity and that will no longer be tolerated. The public is against you. And this.

Only criminals worry about their identity this much. If they have nothing to fear, they’d have nothing to hide.

Then why don’t police need them????? Oh yeah, because they follow humane laws…

Why are you against due process?

All of those things are the *minimum* standards of any law enforcement agency.
If they cannot meet those standards then they can’t be “reformed” and must be abolished.

“Abolish ICE”

Congressman Mark Alford They publish ICE Agent deaths. There have been ZERO deaths due to agents being targeted going back to at least 2012. There have been deaths due to cancer from toxic exposure at the 9-11 site, several due to COVID exposure in 2020-2021, an officer’s weapon misfiring on himself, one from dengue fever, a heart attack, a drunk driver striking an officer (wrong place, wrong time). The most recent incident of an ICE Agent dying from an aggressor as a result of his actual work was Jaime Jorge Zapata in February of 2011. Between 2011-2024 160 people died in ICE custody, so… get rid of the masks. Add body cameras and security cameras in the detention facilities. [….]

Never worried about it before, Mark. What changed? If all they are going to do is uphold the law, why do they need to hide, who would care if they were “doxxed” if they were following the law? Not me.

Why is it that local and state police can “make it home alive” without concealing their face?

B.s. every commendable law enforcement officer i know proudly shows there face. And let’s be clear they face far more dangerous criminals on a daily basis, and have from through our history. These masked thugs hide in shame.

There must be transparency

Basic law enforcement requirements. Nothing radical they’re asking for.

I would say police are in more danger every day than ICE and they don’t wear masks and they have to wear body cams. The real reason is so they can be as lawless as they want without any repercussions.

Too bad the American citizens they cross, often don’t make it home in the same shape the started the encounter with, or even make it home at all.

Why would they fear for themselves and their family? Are they doing anything that would make a significant number of moral and reasonable people angry?

If I can’t confirm you’re law enforcement then I can’t be expected to comply.
If I can’t expect you to face consequences for abuse of power, then I can’t expect you not to abuse that power.
Accountability for law enforcement. Justice for Alex Pretti.

Local and State law enforcement do not wear masks. If you need to hide you know what you are doing is wrong. I also equate this to celebrity. If you decide to be a celebrity than you signed up for what celebrity brings. If you sign up to be an ICE Agent then expect your life will not be an easy one.

This is a nonsense debate. In a free country, citizens shouldn’t have to show their papers at the drop of a hat, and in a free country every law enforcement officer should have to prove they’re law enforcement before forcing you to comply with their orders.

Funny our local police don’t wear masks. There must be a difference.

Why is it radical for ICE to be held at the same standard as police?

Please make an argument about why ICE needs to be anonymous when they are grabbing and trafficking a 5-year-old child. Police that are doing their jobs within the bounds of the law don’t need masks. Local police and state police manage to do it while enforcing the law in their communities every day. They don’t wear masks because we trust them with a lot of power and with that power comes accountability. We are their bosses like we are your boss. If you don’t need anonymity for protection, they don’t either. And if you think otherwise, maybe neither you nor they should have the job.

We’re going to Nuremberg you Mark.

==========

There’s this:

Principles of International Law Recognized in the Charter of the
Nürnberg Tribunal and in the Judgment of the Tribunal

1950

[….]

Principle IV

The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him.

[….]

==========

Word is, they are more afraid of the reaction of their friends and neighbors if their identities are revealed. Don’t do jobs you aren’t proud to have people know you do.
[…..]

More US citizens have not gone home alive thanks to ice in the last month than ice agents haven’t gone home to their families in the last year… so try again.

If not gestapo, why gestapo shaped?

So police officers should wear masks too then ? They shouldn’t wear name badges on their uniforms then anymore huh?

Funny, real law enforcement don’t feel the need to hide behind masks.
That’s probably because they are actually following the law, though. It’s just a little old thing called The Constitution of The United States.

For the millionth time: LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL CANT BE DOXXED. We do not have secret police in this country. Police are public servants and clear identification is how they are held accountable.
The argument that masking for the safety of the officers falls apart easily because it is not practiced by any other law enforcement entity in America. Their safety is equally important, but so is accountability.

Local police face the same danger of doxxing and still do their jobs without masks and are required to identify themselves when asked. The only difference in the danger level is that ICE agents know that they are breaking the law and violating the constitution and don’t want to be held accountable for that when the fascists inevitably lose power.

So we’re clutching our pearls over doxxing (all the while knowing these thugs are heavily armed),
BUT
We think it’s ok to grab kids out of school, or worse, grab folks from the courtroom at their immigration hearings.
Irony deficiency??

They wear masks to escape responsibility and accountability.

Unmasked legitimate law enforcement officers make it home to their families every day.

How is that “dramatic”? Those should’ve been their procedures from day one

So by that logic ALL law enforcement should be wearing masks and completely anonymous. But of course, they’re not. BECAUSE THEY ALSO NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.

Really? Police officers don’t need to wear masks…why does ice? If they’re proud of their work then show their face

Weird how REAL police officers don’t seem to have this problem.

Every single one of those items is completely reasonable. If the agents don’t like it, Walmart is hiring.

ICE has devolved into secret police and a tool of retribution. To say nothing of how they are carrying out their work. I’d wear a mask, too.

Why is it less important then for innocent citizens to make it home alive to their families???

Agencies that get to operate in anonymity without accountability or repercussions for grievances are never going down in history as the good guys.

Bull. They wear them because they don’t want to be identified because they are acting illegally.

Police don’t wear masks. Secret police under dictatorships do. If you are afraid of doxxing, don’t do that job.

Crazy, police officers don’t wear masks. Neither does the national guard.

Police, FBI, DEA, ATF, (Any alphabet agency really) nor US military are masked when performing their duties. ICE isnt special, you want the anonymity because you want to protect the criminals from their legal consequences

Not one american has killed an ice agent yet. The reciprocal is not true.

So now we can have criminals masquerading as ICE and how would any know the difference between criminals violently abducting someone off the street and ICE who do the same thing?
Beyond that, have you asked yourself why ICE needs to worry about being doxxed and not our police forces who don’t? Have you asked yourself why previously ICE didn’t need to be masked up at all times? Maybe it is how ICE is operating now and they should be accountable for it. If they were doing what is right and just, they wouldn’t need to hide

they wear masks for one reason NO ACCOUNTABILITY

I guess wearing masks would be OK if they would follow the rules, you know not dragging people out of their cars after breaking out windows, not giving a reason for search and seizure, not kicking in doors and dragging families out of their homes, not accepting people’s papers when offered. Kinda following the constitution.

ICE didn’t need masks until they stopped following the law.

You appear to be confused again, Mark.
Tell us again who is doing the shooting.

They should have badges and badge numbers like real police. And follow the 4th Amendment like real Americans.

Public officials should be identifiable to be held to account for anything. Name, badge number and face should be visible to anyone.

City police officers don’t have to wear masks, sheriff’s departments don’t wear masks, FBI agents don’t wear masks… If you have to wear a mask to hide your identity, you’re not doing it right.

Hey Congressman Mark Alford, judicial warrants are following the law.
Body cameras and ID are lawful activities, especially since agents are demanding everyone they encounter has ID.
Schools have FERPA, hospitals have HIPAA, both are federal protections for students and patients. Churches is safe under the bill of rights.
I thought republicans were against masks? And doxxing is something teachers, doctors, police officers, congressmen, judges, many public officials have to deal with. How many ICE agents have been targeted and hurt? Even the person who murdered Renee Good was doxxed but not hurt. He should be in jail awaiting arraignment. So should at least two of the officers who murdered Alex Pretti.
Use of force standards are important so no officer of any kind can use force just because they want.
This list seems entirely legal and essential to protect rights of all involved. You seem to understand very little of our legal system. I hope all the MO4 voters remember this.

Police don’t wear masks, judges don’t wear masks, prosecutors don’t wear masks, juries don’t wear masks. Doing a job that the citizens support, while above all respecting constitutionally guaranteed rights doesn’t require masks. Secret police, sent to inflame the population, trample rights, and commit wholesale kidnappings require masks.

Why them? Other law enforcement officers do not cover their faces. What are these officers doing that would require their anonymity? Surely everything is above board.

What terrifies me is the lack of accountability when NO identification is required of ICE agents. I believe the majority of agents are good people. Which means we need to be able to identify those that do not follow the law themselves and need accountability. At the very least, replicating the uniform of an ICE agent can be very simple when identification is not required. Which puts people at risk when they can’t identify if the “agents” that show up to their doorsteps are real or not.

Perhaps if they weren’t participating in such heinous activities the public wouldn’t be so angry with them. As my Mama used to say: You can choose what you want to do, but you can’t choose the consequences!

If armed. masked government employees don’t have to show ID why should anyone else have to ?

Well?

And yet the real police don’t have to.

Uh, pretty sure everyone else also wants to make it home to their families. They don’t have an exclusive or better claim on that.

In no decent society do POLICE shield their faces from accountability. You are a moron.

I was a cop for 24 years and didn’t hide my identity. Of course, I was not the Gestapo, so there’s that

How come only ICE officers are in danger of being doxxed?
Is it because they abuse their powers and are not hold accountable for anything?

Asking ICE to perform their duties lawfully shouldn’t be controversial either idiot but here we are.

If ICE behaved like law enforcement, instead of masked gangland thugs, people would have no problem with them.
If they feel they’re somehow threatened, how do they think their victims feel? They’ve brought sny problems on themselves. If they behaved properly, they’d have no need for masks

Law enforcement actually following the law shouldn’t be controversial.

Doing away with an anonymous secret police shouldn’t be controversial. All police run the same risk and understand when they take their oath. They should find another line of work. No other municipal or state police force allow masks.

If they were acting like law enforcement and not unregulated armed thugs they would not need to wear masks

These are all reasonable practices for law enforcement. What would you not support these?

Bullshit. They wear masks to hide their identity while they commit assault and murder, to keep them from being tried and jailed like the thugs they are. LEGITIMATE LAW ENFORCEMENT has NO NEED TO MASK. They’re NOT legitimate, they’re THUGS. Military reject high school dropout idiot masked gestappo goon thugs. THUGS.

… how many ICE agents have been killed? Couldn’t be “zero” could it?seems they’ve been going home this whole time…
Police officers who LIVE IN the neighborhoods they police and are easily recognizable and identifiable in name and residence by the people they arrest WITHOUT running internet searches to tease them out can do their fucking job in a uniform, with a badge, with a name tag, showing their face.
The ONLY reason ICE officers now have to worry about “doxxing” is because they are acting illegally, unconstitutionally, without the consent of the governed, with no respect for the communities they are operating within, and they don’t want to be held accountable to the law.
And we know that because this administration has gone out of its fucking way to prevent them from being held accountable, blatantly lying publicly and under oath, to keep that from happening.
And they keep getting called out for being liars because the people have filmed it – and now the administration is trying to say that filming is obstruction to intimidate the people away from being able to show the truth and DEMAND accountability.
But it’s not going to work. The people are stronger than you think. And your constituents will hold YOU accountable for adhering to the Trump line and standing against the people. Remember while in the unemployment line that your fall is your own doing.

No one would be doxxing them if they weren’t murdering people in cold blood, harassing and detaining people in the US that are here legally or who are citizens, infringing upon constitutional rights or acting like reject Target security guards instead of Law Enforcement. Biden, Obama and Bush had way more deportations than Trump – most people don’t even know that. Want to know why? Because they did it it ways that followed the constitution and they weren’t racially profiling little abuelitas in Mexican restaurants or throwing construction workers off roofs. They didn’t have to wear masks. Not only are you nazi scum but you suck at your jobs compared your predecessors. Quit and go back to smoking weed in your mom’s basement where you belong.

Another MAGA clown.

You’re on a sinking ship

And he’s rearranging the deck chairs.

This is dishonest spin from Congressman Mark Alford. Hiding behind masks while dodging warrants, IDs, and body cams isn’t “safety”—it’s evading accountability. Those so-called “Dem demands” are basic law-enforcement standards. If ICE can’t operate transparently, that’s a problem with ICE, not the public.

Why do they need special treatment more than police? Are they snowflakes? Maybe untrained? Maybe doing terrible things?

But peaceful protesters do not need to get home alive because masked and unidentified ICE agents can shoot at will. So much for 1st Amendment rights and proper police ethics, these men and women are the goons squad and should be identified. Proper police enforcement will not be masked and show proper identity with no fear of reprisal because they perform proper police enforcement.

What about the people’s right to know who is picking them up and that they are legit and not kidnappers? F- ICE

Masks, no badge numbers, big guns, minimal training, and otherwise unemployable thugs roaming the country without regard to boundaries and local laws.
It is indefensible.

And yet, Mark Alford (r) keeps trying.

Zero ICE agents have died violently in the line of duty on US soil and 1 died violently in Mexico in the entire history of ICE. And they killed dozens of people last year and two US citizens in the street last month.
Want to guess how many Postal Inspectors have died violently in the line of duty since their inception despite being 1/10th as many officers as ICE has? Seven.
Being in ICE is not dangerous. Being AROUND them is dangerous.

They hadn’t had to worry about this until after they began their current over-militarized, illegal brutality at the encouragement of their political bosses. And the masks came first. They can behave this way because they know they are protected from the consequences of their actions. Regular cops still show ID and are expected to follow the law…because they might be held accountable.

Makes sense, since some ICE victims didn’t make it home alive to their families and they weren’t masked. You’re an ass.

Don’t you get tired of writing bullshit?

Gestapo fucks. Fuck them and fuck you. That’s all the respect you are due. Fascist prick.

Unidentified masked men running around sounds like a real stupid ass idea.

Due process is real, your values are not

Horse manure. Husband was in law enforcement for over 30 years and never wore a mask. Interesting how it’s only these newly hired, poorly trained cowboys acting like bullies that are wearing masks.

This a sick joke????

Look! Another MAGA boot licker crying about poor masked Nazis being held accountable for terrorizing peaceful communities, brutalizing people and executing protesters.
There is a special place in Hell for anyone who tries to candy coat, gas light or excuse away what ICE is and what they are engaging in.
Shame on you.

You insult us with this bs. Do you really think that we are dumb enough to believe your lies. Total embarrassment to yourself and Missouri.

4th Congressional District, former newsreader, gaslighting, Mark Alford, missouri, right wingnut, social media, sycophant, toady, Trump sycophant

“…Asking the people who are the problem what the problem is…”

Mark Alford (r) [2023 file photo].

Friday:

Congressman Mark Alford
[March 14, 2025]
For the past ten years at 2 PM every day,
Gary, Carl, Terry, and Jake have been sitting on these benches at a gas station in Lockwood Missouri, Dade County, watching the world go by and solving life’s problems.
I sat down and had a conversation with them about where we’re headed in America and what they thought of DOGE. There was no yelling and no hysteria.
They simply said “Just keep Trump going” and “keep shrinking the government”
THIS is the 4th congressional district and these are the conversations I love having with our constituents.
We don’t always have to agree but we do need to be respectful of each other.
I love our district!!!
[….]

There was much hilarity in the responses:

I bet if you told them YOU are doing away with Social Security that they would have took you out back and fixed your clock and your attitude. You’re a city slicker and these folks weren’t fooled by you, they are fooled by the media they follow. If you told the truth about what you Rs are really up to, you would have been out back. Your clothes don’t look like theirs and neither does your shoes. Where is your hat? See it is plain for me to see that you don’t fit in there, no matter how they made you feel about yourself. If you came to my city in the Fourth District, I would ask you why Trump is so buddy buddy with Putin? You would not tell me the truth of course and the next time I see you somewhere I’d throw you another hard ball and you would not recognize me.

There is no town in Dade County named “Lockton”
How can you know your district if you don’t even know what town you’re in?
EDIT: The original post said “Lockton” and I have photo proof. They changed it after I called them out on their ignorant and false grab at pandering to rural areas. My family has a farm in Dade County, and Alford’s big city crew probably didn’t even hear of Dade County before this trip. Shameful.

Okay, that’s funny.

If you want to shrink the government, then start with congress, let’s start with some pay cuts, then end the free health care you receive, then end the pension you get, being a politician was never meant to be a full time job and sure wasn’t meant to make you rich! This is where the cuts need to start. But instead you cut jobs of the middle class. America’s citizens need to wake up and pay attention! Elon Musk is out for is own gain, he’s not even an elected official and Trump is letting him make these decisions. Trump goes and play golf on his golf course, and the taxpayers pay for it and who gets the money, Trump gets it. The biggest con game ever!

Go to the redest places you can find, and ask someone what they want. That’s easy. I was through Lockwood yesterday. It was an easy cherry pick. You have staffers research friendly territory, and then you show up for a photo op. You’re not fooling your constituents, and you’re not fooling America. Your cowardice is making national television.

Safe spaces.

That looks pretty representative of a cross section of America. Asking the people who are the problem what the problem is. I’m embarrassed for you Mark Alford. You used to be a respected person to Kansas City. You should be ashamed of selling your sould to fascism

Amen
Rural Americans get it. God bless President Trump, those of you that are fighting along beside him, and God bless America.

Rural Americans get it, until they stop getting government support.

Wonder how they are gonna feel when social security is taken away from them? Did you perhaps chat about that? How about a little topic called Veterans Affairs and the 80,000 jobs with associated cuts in services to the men and women who served this country? I doubt those good old boys were on board with that too. It’s real simple. Tax the billionaires at the same rate as middle class Americans. No loopholes. No tax cuts. Same deal for them as for the rest of us. Budget balanced. Debt solved. Funding for school lunches, medical research to cure childhood cancers, Veterans services, Free College Education all around, heck while we are at it give yourself a raise. Oh wait. I think I read you guys already did.

Just to name a few.

Cuts to Social Security are coming, Representative Mark Alford . . .

So you found a group of old white guys rooting for trump. Color me shocked.

I knew his MAGA cronies would keep him out of prison and his monarchist followers would elect him. 😉 I hope you have the day you voted for! Thoughts and tariffs, bro!

Bad combover. Check. Too long red tie. Check. Orange spray tan. Check. Tiny hands. Check. Cluelessness. Check. Conviction. Check.

the real question is, why are you so proud of putting the first convicted felon into the white house? Do you think federal laws only apply to democrats?

You’re pathetic.

Thank you, Congressman Mark Alford, for working as hard as you do to meet with your constitutents where they live, and have civil discussions about complex issues that face Missouri and the US. I may not always agree with your positions, but I very much appreciate your willingness to listen and engage in a reasoned back-and-forth conversation.

you clearly weren’t at the last townhall

I actually was. Rep. Alford responded to that mob with class and did everything he could to have a civil discussion with hateful fools that just wanted to curse and shout and spit and stomp their feet like spoiled toddlers.

“Mob”? Some people are so sensitive.

a handful of constituents with actual grievances and without pitchforks is what a townhall is supposed to look like. A mob is what happened on January 6.

from what I heard, he answered with Republicans talking points, instead of thoughtful answers. That’s why people were so upset.

That, and the constant gaslighting.

Did you ask them what they think about Elon saying that social security is a ponzi scheme? Did you ask them if they are okay giving up their SS checks? Did you talk about tariffs and farm subsidies?

If you loved our district, you should do another town hall and answer the voters questions.

yes, and we all need to hold each other accountable. No yelling, and no talking around the answers.

and no parroting, Mark. We want your answers with some thought about how your constituents are going to be hurt.

And I DARE him to show his face there again once consequences of DOGE settle in.

firing employees at the Social Security offices will only make it slower and more difficult to get Social Security. It already takes a month just to get a telephone appointment. How is making the workforce even smaller a legitimate “waste” saving plan?
I agree with not taxing Social Security; however, in order to sustain the program, the cap needs to be removed on the amount of income Social Security taxes are charged on. Why is the government so invested in “helping” those of us who are already doing extremely well, and leaving the rest hanging out to dry?

When’s the next townhall Mondays with Mark?

Heh. Never. This has been another edition of Short Answers to Simple Questions.

Sounds like you’re just afraid to do town halls

Or, ordered not to.

Sounds like they agreed with you. Wow, such bravery to face people who support you.

Hmmm. Wouldn’t expect any different out of the demographic you chose to sit and have a chat with. 🙄

So… thoughts on January 6th?

Tourism? Just a random guess.

You are the furthest thing from one of them.

Said the town’s name is Lockwood not Lockton.

Congressman Mark Alford how can I contact your office regarding an issue with how FASFA determines a students eligibility for loans/grants?

Good luck with that.

All I see is a bunch of old men gossiping about how the country was in the 60’s when women wore dresses and had dinner ready at the table. Times have changed. We have evolved the country under duress we have a corrupt president who is a felon convicted on 34 felony counts. We have unelected official tearing down the needs of good people. A president who is friends with putin. A dictator who wants to take ukraine down so he can take control back. I’m appalled I’m mad and I’m afraid. What have we come to. The weather has change from good to bad because we have a president who fails to acknowledge the climate has changed. Doest want any part of the Paris climate agreement to better the earth. I really hate Donld J Trump for causing so much hatred in the world. We are more divided then ever. Instead of loving one another and helping each other.

After that trash corrupt Joe Biden and what he did to our country you have nothing zero not 1 one thing good you can say about Biden. Move on with your hate and lies!!! By the way in your stupidity what Trump is doing is trying to make Peace around the world with All leaders!! Putin destroyed the bio labs in Ukraine that y’all’s corrupt democrat president Obama started there!!!!

Alford’s golden era. Back before the civil rights.

“There was no yelling and no hysteria” translates to “I wasn’t talking to women or people with a different opinion” Good job at avoidance. Sit down with just me! I’m a Dem, promise not to be hysterical or yell. I’m not even good at debating!

Mr. Alford, when are you going to stop blindly following trump and his rich friends? You need to stand up to the bully/nazi and his henchman elon and start doing what is right for the people you represent. I think the reception you got in Belton a few days ago should give you a clue!

Sycophant has to sycophant.

You’re such a disappointment.

I’m sure this isn’t something you completely made up.

This photo looks planned and not genuine.

Wonder how your boys will like it when the rural hospitals close and they lose social security and Medicare. Good times.[….]

with the goal to privatize everything, many services will be lost to rural communities because what the federal government previously had to provide, the private businesses no longer do. This will include health care, education and mail service. It’s amazing this is what his base voted for.

No respect for you
You sold your soul to the devil

It’s Lockwood! At least get it right. Did you tell them you plan to cut Social Security? At least a couple of them are probably veterans, did you tell them that you support Musk’s cutting the VA?

Shame they haven’t found work in ten years.

Heh.

or that their social security checks and medicaid/medicare/va benefits are likely going to get slashed.

Why can’t you talk to all your constituents, not just the ones who echo fox news? One time I was a Republican. The party platform under dt has disappeared. I have no idea what he stands for except himself. As leaders of the free world we stood with our allies against aggressors, we participated in fair trade, we upheld our treaties. What is happening now is dangerous. You are ceding all power to a power grabbing authoritarian. Please stand up for the people of your district and stop giving tax breaks to the wealthy. I don’t believe dt or elon are in our district and their lives are not impacted by owning 10 less homes. Our kids access to health care, home ownership, retirement should be your priority.

They used to hate Russia. Now, not so much.

“Make America Great Again” – in Russian.

Maybe listen to some folks who have things other to do than sit on the same bench every day at 2?

Of course you loved them. They’re low information voters. Talk to some who stay informed, and I’ll bet you won’t enjoy the conversation.

Want respect? Give it!

I think you’re a liar. Just like Trump.

Why dont you resign and join them full time. You would be just as useful to the country.

Welfare queens.

Found four people who wouldn’t question your every assinine move? Congrats. You sure they weren’t “paid?”

Did you tell them the truth Mark ?

All you do is use gaslight and now you act like you want a group hug. You are a disgrace.

Congressman Mark Alford
In reality.
Truth is these die-hard Republican men don’t really pay attention.
They are old white retired men that haven’t been affected by Trump…yet…
They pass their day sitting at an old gas station in deep RED redneck hillbilly country & are clueless.
That’s why you liked it.
They knew nothing about anything, only gotta remember to head home before 5:00 for supper.
Come back to where people ARE paying attention & their lives are affected.
You’re a 🐓 💩 panty waste!
Always have been.

If you come for the turtle you best not miss.

Josh Hawley (r) [2016 file photo].

Today, as Josh Hawley (r) plays with matches:

Alex Isenstadt @politicoalex
McConnell held a conference call with Senate Republicans this morning in which he pressed Hawley multiple times to explain his plans to object to the Electoral College. McConnell was met with silence, per multiple people familiar with the call. Turns out Hawley wasn’t present
1:30 PM · Dec 31, 2020

McConnell has expressed concern that GOP senators up for re-election in ‘22 will be forced to take a vote on a seemingly pointless endeavor that will imperil them either in a general or primary election

Hawley has launched a small dollar fundraising push around his move. He sent out an email this afternoon asking donors to “stand” with him. Contributions go to Hawley’s campaign account

Why is it always about the grift?

A tip of the hat to Nelson Muntz.

Vicky Hartzler (r) [2016 file photo].

This morning:

Rep. Vicky Hartzler @RepHartzler
On the desk this morning:

8:41 AM · Feb 6, 2020

And, as usual, there is much hilarity in the responses:

And around your neck (like an albatross) in November.[….]

The saddest thing is your glee. It shows a complete lack of respect for a significant portion of your constituents. This is the very definition of partisanship. Your hypocrisy knows no bounds much like the President’s respect for the law.

“Acquitted” doesn’t always mean “innocent.”

You may be ok with potus soliciting foreign help in upcoming election and withholding congressional approved aid to try and get said help, but WE THE PEOPLE are not ok with it.
#FireVicky
#CorruptGOP

Orange God will be happy you shirked your duty. #GOPtrumpSycophants

Save those! The Trump Crime Syndicate can use them as blankets in their jail cells once Daddy Don is out of office here soon.

Oh wow, it sure is impressive that a slim majority of senators, all from the president’s own party, decided against removing him from office. What an accomplishment.

Good reminder that senate republicans failed to do their jobs and uphold their pledge to be impartial jurors.

Also, in every history book…

I enjoy giving money to the strong, smart, principled lady who will take your office from you. Enjoy it while it lasts. You’ll actually have to work for that seat next time

Political fear is a strong thing!

Republicans worship a man above the constitution. Republicans are corrupt af. Don’t be like republicans. #VoteBlueToSaveAmerica

Also from the WP (on your desk) The WH is now sending around anti-Romney talking points, including:
•Romney’s decision was unsurprising as this display of self-serving political expedience has come to define his career.
•Romney has a long history of flip-flopping.

It was a fake trial, resulting in a fake acquittal. Valueless, really. I’m voting for @LynzforCongress to get someone who understands the law.

#impeachedforever

Cult of Trump

Still IMPEACHED!

That you are proud of this is profoundly sad

A travesty. I hope you will be held accountable for the part you played.

And still guilty.

In the trash this morning…

Yes, Vicky, your tribe won. America lost.

I question your understanding of the events ma’am. You seem to be celebrating a party and president who was impeached and will remain forever impeached. Acquittal was publicly assured before the articles found their way to the Senate. This should embarrass you and the GOP.

Not surprising, when you have a fixed jury.

Good people don’t defend a bad person. You are not a good person

Vicky thinks it’s appropriate for a sitting president to use congressionally allocated aid as leverage to a coerce a FOREIGN GOVERNMENT into interfering in a US election for his benefit.

Vicky is unAmerican.

Remember, ‘Not Guilty’ is not the same as ‘Innocent’. It means the case wasn’t proved beyond a reasonable doubt, not that the accused didn’t do it. There just wasn’t enough evidence to warrant a conviction. And, how do you think that happened?

Uh, they refused to look at any evidence? Just spitballing here…

I can see you doing high kicks cheering on dear leader as he starts extorting more countries to meddle in our elections. But this means you get a few more farm subsidy checks! Congrats!

#ForeverImpeached. And he set a new record. The greatest bipartisan vote for conviction and removal in our history. What a winner you are kowtowing to, ya coward.

I thought the media was fake and against our dear leader?

How are you not sick of Trump’s behavior?

And you are okay with this? Why are you supporting such a vile, incompetent, hateful, lawless person? Seriously, as a constituent and business owner in your district, I am ashamed of the “leadership” in this country. It is disgraceful.

Shame on your party for doing this to America. I hope you are voted out.

This is not a good thing, Vicky. Uphold the constitution or we’ll find someone who will.

Hey Hartzler! President Trump: “I don’t like people who use their faith as justification for doing what they know is wrong. Nor do I like people who say ‘I pray for you’ when they know that that’s not so. So many people have been hurt and we can’t let that go on.”

It all depends on whose ox is being gored, eh?

Don’t be a partisan hack. Don’t be Vicky.

It’s in her nature.

Some of the responses:

Ok. Where is your proposal to protect people with pre-existing conditions?

Trumps in court right now to remove that, so Senator Joke Hawley won’t go against his party. America be damned, Hawleys gonna kiss him some orange trumpy ass. #HawleysATraitor

Get your mouth off the President’s ass and grow a backbone.

How dare you disrespect a wounded vetran. You have every right to disagree with anyone but ni right to disrespect them this is not one of you housewives reality shows stop your trash talk

Uh…

Blah Blah ….

If you want to end the “cycle of bitterness” then stop using terms like “The Dems”.

What foreign nations are you going to use for your next campaign?

…umm…the people’s priorities were that you call witnesses. You blew off our priorities, pal.

P. S. It’s galling that you say “it’s time to end this cycle” while you yourself perpetuate it.

Might want to drop a note to the #ImpeachedPresident about your *concerns* .

That would be great! Does this mean you’re going to stop trying to belittle the other side of the aisle in your tweets and host some town halls to share a vision of unity and progress with your constituents?

How do you know what the people’s priorities are when you never meet with your constituents?

Can you list my priorities? I am your constituent. Hint…you’re suing to take away one of them.

I listened to Senator Romney and I listened to you. Enough said.

And…you could have begun listening to the American people by voting to allow the witnesses that 75% of Americans were asking for. You clearly only care about listening to a certain demographic.

ROMNEY: “Were I to ignore the evidence that has been presented and disregard what I believe my oath and the constitution demands of me for the sake of a partisan end, it would, I fear, expose my character to history’s rebuke and the censor of my own conscience.”

Watch Mitt’s speech and the way he voted.
How craven you are.

I, too, wish to turn to the future of voting you out of office for this embarrassing behavior.

#sycophantsenator

I believe this will be possible when Trump is no longer dividing our nation.

You, sir, are not worthy of being in the same room with #MittRomney.

Our priorities are having a president who obeys the law and does not lie about literally everything.

We can’t rebuild if you allow our president to deconstruct our society piece by piece. He shows he really doesn’t care about us in his recent tweet saying the Chiefs were in KS!! Seriously! He doesn’t care! He is all show and no knowledge! Unfit! and you will be too!

you mean #trump’s base….. everybody else you say is the enemy

From the dude that is trying like hell to get rid of safeguards for preexisting conditions

He literally said to a reporter after a townhall, “I believe insurance companies should be able to charge more for preexisting conditions.”

𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯’𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦. 𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘪𝘥, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘷𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴.

And you’re in the loop…

coward

Romney made you look small.

You are trying to take away people’s ACA healthcare.

Hack.

Respectfully, eat turds, man.

So, what ladder are you going to try to climb next? Aiming to be the next #MoscowMitch?

Ok then!! How about holding town halls? With “the people”? Hahahahaha Right!!!!! It’d be nice, wouldn’t it? Oh well, maybe we could be rich lobbyists and get a meeting!!!

Coward.

I have no interest is anything you have to say…you deny the truth and therefore I can’t trust you.

Congratulations on the cover up! And thanks for letting your constituents not hear all of the evidence. Thanks for never working with us too, BTW!! Well done. I can’t wait to see what Trump will get away with next because he’s totally above the law! Wish I could be that. GFY.

I’ll remember your vote on this. You’ll never get my vote again.

ALL of the people Josh? Or just the ones whose backs you use to climb the ladder?

Come to MO and hold a town hall with your constituents…blue and red, and we shall see how true this Tweet was.

It seems treason does pay.

If you were actually listening to the American people, like you claim, you would have voted for witnesses and evidence. 75% of the American people you say you represent wanted to see witnesses…

What are you afraid of?

You couldn’t find the truth if it was water and you fell out of a boat. Resign.

You have shown clearly that your priority is not the American people. Resign you partisan hack.

are you a senator or a late night televangelist?

Are you kidding? @realDonaldTrump is the KING of bitterness@and revenge. #delusional #AliceinWonderland #VoteBlueNoMatterWho2020

“people’s priorities” from one of the most notorious DARK MONEY beneficiaries of all time

a man is truly dangerous when he believes his own BULLSHIT

Mr. Hawley the state of Missouri and the people of the United States will hold you accountable for your vote. Trump is guilty and you know it. You’re not gonna tell me that you are so naive that you can’t see that for yourself. Wake up..

Your words are meaningless. You work for special interests and your own selfish political ambitions.

The people want the truth. You blocked witnesses.

Fake much? You are so transparent. You could care less about anything but your own political career. I guess you are if the Lindsey Graham school. You know the ones that would sell their mothers to stay in power. Can’t wait to vote you out

Can you imagine what we could do if we didn’t have a president that with every turn endangers are republic and the future of our country. You can ONLY imagine and that’s the problem. Shame on you #GOPCowards

Won’t happen because Republicans are allowing a criminal to forever taint our elections!! When this is said and done Trump will be more emboldened to lie and cheat! Hope you’re proud you have helped destroy democracy in this country!!!!

Dishonoring your oath and bringing more bad repute to a failing institution isn’t the way forward.

You freakin Trump toadie!

You don’t answer letters in a timely fashion, your staffers don’t answer the phone, you don’t hold town halls. You are all that the Republican Party represents: Bullshit, Gaslighting, and Mediocrity.
Resign!

You don’t know what the people’s priorities are.

You put party before country and made it easier for future presidents to abuse their power. Shame on you

You know what would help end the cycle of bitterness & payback? Actual consequences for lawbreaking. Rule of law. Concern about the Constitution.

Sweeping crime and corruption under the rug because it was done by _your_ asshole isn’t a road to reconciliation.

Senator, for too long the GOP has played nice with the opposition. Now, we have a coup de etat on our hands, Bolsheviks as serious presidential contenders, and a violent Brownshirt wing of the democrat party. I think the gloves need to come off.

Ooh, a Fascist.

It’s time to shut the fuck up, Joke Hawley, because you don’t listen to the American People. Why in the fuck do we need to hear the bullshit coming out of your mouth? #GOPBetrayedAmerica #Traitor #HawleysLyingAgain

You’re a complete asslicking idiot, eat shit!

Fuck off.

Hard to rebuild our great national life together when your party likes to do crime-ing and obstructing. Hard to rebuild when your Dear Leader elevates a racist blowhard over a Tuskegee Airman at the SOTU. Hard to rebuild when you’re up the president’s ass as much as you are

You are a slack-jawed, spineless, gutless coward.

You utter coward.

Eff you, pig!

The people’s priorities were hearing the witnesses, you sniveling little sycophant.

Not a particularly strong group of ringing endorsements, eh.

“…A Fascist kakistocracy, if you can keep it.”

He’s “disappointed”?:

Josh Hawley @HawleyMO
I am disappointed we were not able to vote to acquit @realDonaldTrump tonight – but I look forward to casting that vote next week, and ending this bitter, partisan circus
7:06 PM · Jan 31, 2020

Says the partisan hack and sycophant who can’t be bothered to hear witnesses.

It’s so cute that the junior senator from Missouri thinks it’s over.

Some of the comments:

Just think about all the times you get to go on Fox and talk about how pressuring an ally to investigate a political opponent and withholding crucial information and witnesses are not an impeachable offense. After all, if the President does it, it’s not impeachable.

“The most dangerous place to stand in Washington D.C. is any place between Senator Josh Hawley and a live microphone” – Charles P. Pierce

Impeached forever. No exoneration. The Dems should impeach him again on new charges.

Imagine hitching your wagon to Donald Trump (r) and believing he won’t do the same shit, eh Josh?

Voting for ending free, fair elections so Donald Trump can select himself president like Vladimir Putin does.
Sounds like you expect a patronage position as an American Oligarch out of the deal to vote for acquittal.

I believe your side has the elephants and the clowns.

Your party wants to do it Soviet style – pre determined outcome, attained with no witnesses or evidence. Not one scrap of paper. That does not exonerate DT – he is impeached forever.

In similar fashion, we’re disappointed in you.

To put it mildly.

You also refused to hear all the evidence. I think that’s sad for a former attorney general. Or anyone for that matter.

I’m completely disappointed that I even voted for you. #HawleyHidesTheTruth

It’s only partisan because you choose to be complicit instead of honoring your oath of office

I’m disappointed that you’re my senator. You have abandoned the constitution and your nation in your furvor to acquire more power for your party at the expense of this country and your dignity.

So disappointed you weren’t able to legalize bribery and obstruction?

The only reason it was partisan was because one side decided to double down on the cover up.

You violated your oath of office. Plain & simple.

i am so disappointed someone in your position isn’t taking this extra time reviewing the materials presented to them and seriously, IMPARTIALLY coming to a conclusion they keep to themselves until voting
#RIPAmerica #RIPGOP

You’ll never actually be able to acquit because you never actually held a trial. You just let him off like good puppets.

Although you’ll vote for acquittal, he’s guilty and you all know it.

Again, I ask; how did it feel to recite the pledge of allegiance, only to turn around and shred the Constitution?
The circus is nothing compared to the crimes that will come to light. We will not forget. History will revile you, toady.

Well, okay, the first one is a little poem written for children by a socialist minister in the early 1890s, the other is the governing document of the United States of America and is apparently no longer operative.

Look at that!

We have a Senator from Missouri showing he has no intentions of being an impartial juror.

Too bad his seat isn’t up until 2024.

Yes you would take joy in acquitting a criminal and not listening to the people who pay your salary.
@GOP knows trump should be impeached and removed. 75% of Americans know how a trial is supposed to work!
@GOP do not want the American People to hear from witnesses! #GOPCowards

What was your soul worth?

I’ve lost all respect for that darn GOP
And it’s not just because we so rarely agree
It’s their lies and deceit
How they shamelessly cheat
That’s distasteful, disgraceful, disgusting to me

Can’t aquit with a sham trial. 80% wanted witnesses. Only little people have to follow the law.

I’m embarrassed to be represented by you.

The democrats just don’t get it do they? They cannot accept election results unless they win and when they don’t we’re going to have continuous temper tantrums because they didn’t get their way.

Projection doesn’t just happen in movie theaters.

We appreciate that you support President @realDonaldTrump, it’s painful to see this disgusting trial go on another day. Hasn’t he been put through enough?

And, wait for it:

No

Gives you plenty of time to shine his shoes.

Problematic if you can’t tell shit from Shinola.

You mean you look forward to licking the boots of a corrupt dictator as you abandon any pretense of working for anyone but him. And the Kremlin.

Okay, not Shinola.

The American people are disappointed in you and the 50 other senators that are perpetrating a cover up. What kind of trial doesn’t have witnesses and documents? You are proving just how corrupt our government is and how much of a need there is for us to rise up against it.

tRump is IMPEACHED for life, even if he is acquitted in the Senate. He will still go down is history as being impeached. As @MickMulvaneyOMB would say “Get over it”.
#GOPCowards

We at least still got the victory knowing he will be acquitted.

“Knowing,” as in pre-ordained? How extra-constitutional. [see also: Pyrrhic]

With all due respect…you might be watching alternative news too much.

I understand your hurry. After all, the truth might come out.

The bitterness will not end with your gift to Putin and transnational crime, I guarantee you that.

“Россия” (Russia) – a variant of the Russian presidential flag.

I look forward to your next chapter in life when you’re voted out of the senate….

Partisan?!The majority of THE PEOPLE would like to hear witnesses.Have this be a true trial. Not the us vs them crap that you and other sycophants are parroting to save your rears.Wholly unbelievable.History won’t be kind to you Josh. The damage will be irreparable.#RIPAmerica

You and your Impeached Leader, enjoy it while you can. Tick, Tock.

If you think Trump’s troubles will end just because 51 sycophants and scaredy-cats cast a vote, think again

53, actually.

I can’t believe ANYONE agreed to leave this Trial open while the Democrats, as they are admitting, want more witnesses and to continue digging. 49 / 51

That is absolutely outragous!

#WeThePeople want you ALL too Get Back to WORK!

That’s so cute. They think that #MoscowMitch keeps the U.S. Senate working.

Its what will happen this week that concerns me.

Well, we are talking about Donald Trump (r) here.

Like it or not – you’re still an irrelevant nobody and no matter how much you kiss Trump’s behind you can bet he’d throw you under the bus in a minute.

Well, we are talking about Donald Trump (r) here.

Let’s hope, Senator Hawley, that you’ll do your part to end the partisan behavior. That means you’ll have to seek common ground and find compromises.

What color is the sky in their world?

If only there was a way you could have made it non-partisan, like actually listening to witnesses, looking at evidence and DOING YOUR DAMNED JOB.

Do you think, like Senator Alexander, that Trump did what Schiff said, but it wasn’t impeachable? Or do you think Trump’s call was perfect?

We could ask, if Josh Hawley (r) ever held open public town halls in Missouri.

Josh doesn’t think. At least not for himself.

He proved he’s just another GOP hack this week.

#GOPCorruptionOverCountry

I’m disappointed to see the GOP continue to put party over country, constituents, and Constitution. The corrupt must be very deep and very wide. #ShamTrial #TruthMattersRightMatters

Follow the money.

Rush to judgement to decide without even considering all the evidence, witnesses. What a shameful exercise.
#SenateGOPCoverup

I could not be more embarrassed of my elected senators right now. Cowards, both of you. This is a fake trial and there will be a fake acquittal.

He may be acquitted in a few days, but he’ll never be exonerated.

This tweet won’t age well. You’ll see it again at election time.

Frame that, and put it up on your wall.

This tweet will come back to haunt you. Get ready. And yeah, history has its eyes on you. So do millions of thoughtful, thinking people everywhere. Craven sycophancy isn’t a good look; nor is shredding the Constitution.

Donnie was impeached…forever and lost the popular vote. You went against the American public too, we wanted witnesses (if just one could have cleared Donnie we would have seen them=this means YOU know he is guilty and don’t care)

Well, at least this gives you the weekend to find a nice scepter and crown for his majesty.

This afternoon:

Trump’s lead attorney in the impeachment trial could also be a witness, according to Bolton’s book
John Haltiwanger
…Cipollone was at this meeting, the manuscript said, suggesting he witnessed Trump order a top adviser to get involved in the coordinated effort to pressure Ukraine. This raises ethical questions about whether it was appropriate for Cipollone to lead Trump’s defense in a trial pertaining to matters he’s said to have firsthand knowledge of…

Claire McCaskill @clairecmc
1) Bolton is telling the truth
2) Cipollone was in the meeting
3) Cipollone is a fact witness and has misled the tribunal
4) Cipollone has violated the ABA Rules of Professionall Conduct
5) Cipollone should be disciplined by the Bar and potentially lose his bar license.

A trial without witnesses or documents in evidence. Really.

So their cult leader can take a victory lap before a sporting event?

Rest in peace.

Hopeless sycophant.

Josh Hawley (r) [2016 file photo].

Last night:

Josh Hawley @HawleyMO
As their case unravels, today Dems gave us a tour of leftwing conspiracy theories. Schiff said @realDonaldTrump stole 2016 election, said Trump has rigged 2020, berated senators for questions he didn’t like, & repeatedly used the word “coup.” They’ve lost it. Let’s vote
9:58 PM · Jan 30, 2020

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

People aren’t buying it. Some of the comments:

Josh, you aren’t fit to carry Adam Schiff’s briefcase.

I thought Adam Schiff was remarkable. You could only wish to be half the man/lawyer/Senator that he is!!!!

Ashamed of you, Senator.

I loathe the premise of you being a senator, much less one from my state.

I am ashamed that you represent me.

The American people want witnesses. You work for us. Do your job.

How can a case unravel if you can’t even bring in witnesses to assess the facts? You’re a bad lawyer and a worse senator.

this is the death by suicide of the republican party that we are witnessing. No longer can there be any respect for republicans’ stances, deplorable display! -from a voting republican.

GOP doesn’t believe in the truth or the rule of law or the constitution. A trial without witnesses is a sham. GOP dishonors our country with their cowardice. They now own all of the President’s crimes and corruption. Vote them all out.

history will record your shittiness in this crucial moment for our nation, senator.

Ridiculous Josh. You cant have a trial, especially one against a president, without witnesses or evidence. I’ll remember your actions in 2022.

You choose to be blind to the facts that show your president is deserving of removal. There is no gray area here, it’s right versus wrong and you know it. We won’t forget this betrayal to the Constitution and the people you represent. #OneTermJosh

You’re the dishonest one, Josh. This constituent will not forget your shameful behavior. I’m only sad that I have to wait so long before I can vote against you

The White House ignored all the subpoenas and obstructed Congress
Please do your job!

Josh sit down

It’s in his nature.

“The most dangerous place to stand in Washington D.C. is any place between Senator Josh Hawley and a live microphone” – Charles P. Pierce

Around 3/4 of Americans think that you should hear from witnesses at this trial. Do your job.

Josh equates the oath he took to some graffiti near a bar urinal

COWARD.

I don’t think it would be humanly possible for someone to suck as much as you do Josh.

Senate Republicans will be remembered for continuing Trump’s obstruction in admitting no documents or evidence.

Their case was fine. The final nail in the country’s coffin was when Senator Alexander admitted they proved their case without the need for witnesses but that being completely corrupt and tampering with elections is now ok. The case was airtight; our country’s soul was leaking.

Hack.

Cool story, bro. Needs more dragons and shit.

The coup is trump’s, he has hijacked the Constitution. I am so ashamed of you.

The first senate trial with no witnesses. Sham.

Your legacy is sealed and it is not good.

Quisling says what?

Apparently, you don’t even acknowledge letters, phone calls, and replies to your tweets, demanding witnesses and a fair trial.

You’re only performing for the audience of one, Trump, by tagging him in your tweets.

There’s that.

And Josh Hawley gives us a tour of the GOP-issued talking points that show the GOP coverup.

GOP is now totally the party of grifters and corruption.

Josh, what’s it feel like to be the answer to the question, “What if Trump, but more weasel-like?”

Okay.

You’re a smug one-term Senator who has decided to be a tyrant’s accomplice.
Shame on you for supporting corruption over democracy and country.
By standing with Trump, you are committing political suicide.
The people will remember your choice.

You are a coward and I question your ability as an attorney. An attorney who doesn’t call witnesses. #OneTermJosh

“…he went to Yale, I think, or Harvard, one of those, one of those fancy ones…”

Heh.

Wow, you’re a full on Trumpist. Do you ever think about the harm President Trump has done to your party? Do you think your party will be able to survive after the cancerous Trumpism that has infected every level of it?

They have a lot of money.

Bolton says he has relevant info

Republicans have decried lack of witnesses

Why have your balls shrunk so quickly?

We don’t have a photo for that.

What’s it like to be a complete moron every day?

Heh. Maroon.

How is abusing presidential power to get a foreign country to make up fake investigations not rigging an election?

How is lying to the American people about illegal Russian election interference *in the middle of an election* acceptable conduct by a president?

Their case didn’t unravel, you and the rest of the Republicans simply decided you are happy with a president seeking foreign interference in our elections.

Coward

What an insult to your voters that you think they are dumb enough to fall for this brazen lie

“ A civilization is not destroyed by wicked by wicked people. It is not necessary that they be wicked, only that they be spineless.” The current GOP whose historical legacy will be trash. You did your country no good service.#VoteBlueToSaveAmerica

No, wicked people are doing their part.

You’re a lawyer???

That’s what we thought. “…he went to Yale, I think, or Harvard, one of those, one of those fancy ones…”

You’re too stupid to understand, Josh. But you’re right about voting, at least. Voters will have quite a lot to say.

You are such an incredibly poor excuse for an elected official. You’ve completely given up your country to protect your dear leader. How are you going explain this to your children?

Your constituents can see how fake you are and we will work harder than ever to ensure you don’t get a senate seat again. Your lack of values and integrity will haunt you.

You’re a hack. Pander on, #senatorflatbed

Voters remember.

The Ivy League vision of a flatbed truck.

The current Republican senators are a disgrace to what the Republican party is supposed to be. You have driven hundreds of thousands of people away from the party. You will find out in November that you have destroyed the Republican party..

The case didn’t unravel. You are covering for a corrupt president and there are many of us in Missouri that won’t forget your cowardice and lack of impartiality in this process.

One or the other. It can’t be both.

Lamar Alexander (r):

Alexander Statement on Impeachment Witness Vote
Posted on January 30, 2020
[….]
Washington, D.C., January 30, 2020 — United States Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement on his vote regarding additional evidence in the impeachment proceedings:
“I worked with other senators to make sure that we have the right to ask for more documents and witnesses, but there is no need for more evidence to prove something that has already been proven and that does not meet the United States Constitution’s high bar for an impeachable offense.
“There is no need for more evidence to prove that the president asked Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter; he said this on television on October 3, 2019, and during his July 25, 2019, telephone call with the president of Ukraine. There is no need for more evidence to conclude that the president withheld United States aid, at least in part, to pressure Ukraine to investigate the Bidens; the House managers have proved this with what they call a ‘mountain of overwhelming evidence.’ There is no need to consider further the frivolous second article of impeachment that would remove the president for asserting his constitutional prerogative to protect confidential conversations with his close advisers.
“It was inappropriate for the president to ask a foreign leader to investigate his political opponent and to withhold United States aid to encourage that investigation. When elected officials inappropriately interfere with such investigations, it undermines the principle of equal justice under the law. But the Constitution does not give the Senate the power to remove the president from office and ban him from this year’s ballot simply for actions that are inappropriate.
“The question then is not whether the president did it, but whether the United States Senate or the American people should decide what to do about what he did. I believe that the Constitution provides that the people should make that decision in the presidential election that begins in Iowa on Monday.
“The Senate has spent nine long days considering this ‘mountain’ of evidence, the arguments of the House managers and the president’s lawyers, their answers to senators’ questions and the House record. Even if the House charges were true, they do not meet the Constitution’s ‘treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors’ standard for an impeachable offense.
“The framers believed that there should never, ever be a partisan impeachment. That is why the Constitution requires a 2/3 vote of the Senate for conviction. Yet not one House Republican voted for these articles. If this shallow, hurried and wholly partisan impeachment were to succeed, it would rip the country apart, pouring gasoline on the fire of cultural divisions that already exist. It would create the weapon of perpetual impeachment to be used against future presidents whenever the House of Representatives is of a different political party.
“Our founding documents provide for duly elected presidents who serve with ‘the consent of the governed,’ not at the pleasure of the United States Congress. Let the people decide.”
