Really. This is too easy.

As always, we’re not allowing ignorant comments like these out of moderation to be linked with the original post, but we will present some of them in subsequent posts for the purpose of public derision and mockery. As we see fit.

We get another comment:

This article is completely laughable and highly biased. The author is obviously incapable of accepting proven research that differs from his opinion.

The post is a first hand source. That is, we were there. We took photos. We published the photos. We recorded audio. We posted the audio. There is no bias in those elements. There is no opinion in those elements. We agree that the public comments were completely laughable. We stated:

…“they” showed up to complain about masks and vaccines, spouting misinformation which would be laughable if it weren’t so dangerous to others…

What “proven” research? Cite it. Explain how that works. We’ll wait.

In a later post:

[….]It was definitely not a virtuoso display of critical thinking skills. Thirty or so people in a county with a population of approximately 54,000.

Whining about a local school district “making” school children wear masks, while being lax in their enforcement, while being too strict in their enforcement, and possibly making students follow established policy.

Masks designated for biological use don’t work for paint (uh, wrong type), therefore they won’t work for their intended purpose.

Wearing a mask will cause you to breathe excessive amounts of carbon dioxide, never mind that highly skilled surgeons and medical personnel wear masks for hours. Seriously, would anyone want their medical team to do otherwise?

How many individuals in Johnson County have been fully vaccinated? Definitely more than thirty anti-science luddites. [….]

Maroon. Ignoranimus.

Experimental.

We get another comment:

How can any business or entity threaten its employees with firings to take an experimental vaccine? All while the Biden Administration is letting tens of thousands of illegals into the country that are testing positive for Covid and not requiring them to be vaccinated. There will be many lawsuits to come in the future.

Ask again in a few weeks.

Ignorant sociopath.

From the CDC:

People Vaccinated – Total – % of Total Population
At Least One Dose – 193,199,353 – 58.2%
Fully Vaccinated – 165,637,566 – 49.9%

At this point the only “experiment” taking place is the Delta variant one using self-selected unvaccinated individuals as subjects.

Uh, if anyone tests positive for Corona virus, from the CDC:

People with a current infection: Defer vaccination of people with known current SARS-CoV-2 infection until the person has recovered from acute illness (if the person has symptoms) and until criteria have been met for them to discontinue isolation. This recommendation applies to any vaccine, including the first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

Yeah, good luck with those lawsuits in Missouri:

GOVERNOR PARSON SIGNS SB 51: PROVIDING HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS, OTHERS PROTECTIONS AGAINST COVID-19 RELATED CIVIL ACTION
Press Release
JULY 7, 2021

JEFFERSON CITY Today, Governor Mike Parson signed SB 51 into law, which protects health care providers, businesses, religious organizations, and others from being held liable in COVID-19 exposure civil actions.

“When COVID-19 first struck Missouri, health care providers, manufacturers, businesses, churches, schools, and other entities quickly altered their operations to protect public health and accommodate the needs of Missourians, and they should not be penalized for their efforts,” Governor Parson said. “SB 51 will protect those who helped protect us during some of the hardest days of the pandemic, and I thank Senator Luetkemeyer, Senator White, and Representative Wiemann for getting this legislation passed to prevent these unnecessary and frivolous lawsuits.”

SB 51 limits liability for COVID-19 exposure claims unless the defendant engaged in reckless or willful misconduct that caused an actual exposure and resulted in personal injury. These protections are extended to health care providers, manufacturers, and others who may have altered their practices to accommodate the changing needs of patients and customers during the COVID-19 crisis.[….]

Heh, that may be a reach, but it might be worth a try just for laughs.

As always, we’re not allowing ignorant comments like these out of moderation to be linked with the original post, but we will present some of them in subsequent posts for the purpose of public derision and mockery. As we see fit.

We’re getting a massive traffic spike from this, posted this morning:

This morning in Springfield, Missouri (July 11, 2021)

A hospital administrator in Springfield, Missouri enumerated, via social media, the severity of the increase of admissions due to the COVID-19 surge. The math isn’t good.

Invariably when a traffic spike like this occurs we get comments, some from right wingnut trolls. If you’ve ever been around here before you’d notice we don’t get a lot of comments. That’s mostly because we’re normally only read by dozens of people. So many that even international spammers don’t bother us with investment solicitations or prescription advice anymore. Sadly, when we get a massive traffic spike it predicts the return of those spammers. Not to worry too much. Our system filters those out for the most part.

We also had the foresight to set our comment default to “moderation” when we moved to this platform. This means that a comment doesn’t get posted unless we approve it. Generally, we approve relevant comments. We save all the violence and death threats, but don’t publish them (really, there haven’t been that many). By the way, when you post a comment we also get your email and IP addresses.

This afternoon we received a trolling comment, held in moderation. We’re not going to allow it go up with the post, but it is such a perfect example of right wingnut talking points and willful ignorance that we’re presenting it here. This is what we face as a state and nation, and why we can’t have nice things:

[….]
Your people are in denial to be honest with you they don’t have a testing process that is full proof we have more false positives than anything besides let’s talk about what incentive the medical community has to follow the push of the government they get paid extra if they flag it person as covid positive. This is gotten out of control and to be honest with you the taxpayers are tired of the medical community only being concerned with money in their pocket this is all bullshit

So, here we are.

Get vaccinated.

Wear a damn mask.

“Agents”? “Compel”?

Governor Mike Parson (r) [2019 file photo].

Last night, from Missouri Governor Mike Parson (r):

Governor Mike Parson @GovParsonMO
I have directed our health department to let the federal government know that sending government employees or agents door-to-door to compel vaccination would NOT be an effective OR a welcome strategy in Missouri!
7:47 PM · Jul 7, 2021

Also, what an asshole.

Some of the responses:

Wait. I thought they were coming door to door to take our guns. You said!

Congrats, Governor. You have successfully shut down the Feds from forcing people to be vaccinated. Excuse me—when did the feds say they were going to do that?? Grow a pair & encourage people to get the vaccine. ERs are filling up again.

What exactly is your strategy?

REALLY? I guess being put on a ventilator is a welcomed strategy in MO?

Governor – this is such an irresponsible statement. You are stoking the fire of fear when our state is a hot spot. The same fear that is stopping our friends & families from getting the vaccine. Here I’ll fix it. “If you can’t travel you will be able to get vaccinated!”

If people just cared about each other we wouldn’t even be here in the first place. I demand @GovParsonMO televise his support for the vaccine to turn this tide and get us back to normal. This is embarrassing.

Yeah because when they open fire due to all the vaccine fear mongering, we can’t cooperate with federal authorities for violent gun crime.

Save me Jesus.

We see what you did there.

A waste of money is paying politicians with zero medical knowledge to handle a public health crisis like Covid. Last year more people died than were born in Missouri. If this keeps up, we will make that 2 yrs on a row. Think.

What strategies are you suggesting that the federal govt try since our state govt has failed to use any effective strategies to eliminate this virus? Seems like getting the vaccine is the best and easiest way to get out of this mess. Much easier to prevent Covid than treat it.

Please yell it loud enough for the poor communities/minorities in the back that don’t have easy access to vaccines and that have also been disproportionately affected by covid during the pandemic. Please tell them louder that you don’t care about them and their health.

Translation: “I have decided to lie like a lying liar about the intent of the federal government sending Health Care workers door-to-door to offer vaccinations & make getting a vaccination easier/safer in Missouri since we’re in an escalating death spiral of Covid infections”

Wow, hospitals in Springfield are begging for ventilators. We haven’t even seen the 4th of July surge yet. Missouri is a disaster and you’re the one that didn’t want mask mandates and thought it was a hoax.

You know, it would be really great if the governor of this state helped counter the crazy anti-vaccine mania that we see all over rural Missouri. That’d be great. Since you went without masks all the time you were saying to wear them, people are skeptical.

Sorry Gov, I guess not everyone is on board with your “let the poors die already” plan.

I don’t see how turning down federal assistance benefits Missourians especially when they’re trying to help people breathe.

they are NOT compelling anyone to do anything… they are offering another option and assisting those needing it. Words matter. please stop

It’s a good thing to inform people of the benefits of getting the vaccine. No one is forcing anyone to get it, if you could please just do your job and help people that would be great!

Let me score a cheap political point first, then as a side note say something about getting the vaccine and in an even more understated way, encourage people to get vaccinated in the sub-sub tweet so as not to offend my voting base who have been misinformed and brainwashed.

You misspoke Gov, you meant to say Offer… not Compel. For those who want the vaccine but can’t get to a location, this is a blessing.

The reality, from President Joe Biden (D):

Remarks by President Biden on the COVID-19 Response and the Vaccination Program

[….]
But our fight against this virus is not over. Right now, as I speak to you, millions of Americans are still unvaccinated and unprotected. And because of that, their communities are at risk. Their friends are at risk. The people they care about are at risk. This is an even bigger concern because of the Delta variant.

In today’s briefing, we discussed how the Delta variant is already responsible for half of all cases in many parts of this country. It’s more easily transmissible, potentially more dangerous. And it should be — because of reconsideration and —

Look, let me put it another way: It seems to me that it should cause everybody to think twice. And it should cause reconsideration, especially in young people who may have thought that they didn’t have to be vaccinated, didn’t have to worry about it, didn’t have to do anything about it up to now.

But the good news is that our vaccinations are highly effective. Fully vaccinated Americans have a high degree of protection, including against this Delta variant.

Study after study after study has shown that, since early May, virtually every COVID-19 hospitalization and death in the United States has been among the unvaccinated.

So, if you’re vaccinated, you’re protected. But if you’re unvaccinated, you’re not, and you’re putting yourself and more importantly maybe, from your perspective, your family and your friends at risk.

So, please get vaccinated now. It works. It’s free. And it’s never been easier, and it’s never been more important. Do it now — for yourself and the people you care about; for your neighborhood; for your country. It sounds corny, but it’s a patriotic thing to do.

In today’s briefing, we discussed how our administration is going to devote the remainder of the summer to a special focus on five ways to make gains in getting those of you who are unvaccinated, vaccinated.

Because here’s the deal: We are continuing to wind down the mass vaccination sites that did so much in the spring to rapidly vaccinate those eager to get their first shot — and their second shot, for that matter, if they needed a second.

Now we need to go to community by community, neighborhood by neighborhood, and oftentimes, door to door — literally knocking on doors — to get help to the remaining people protected from the virus.

Look, equity, equality — it remains at the heart of our responsibility of ensuring that communities that are the hardest hit by the virus have the information and the access to get vaccinated.
[….]

Nothing about “agents” or “compel” in there.

More of the Twitter responses to Missouri Governor Mike Parson (r):

The risk of getting the vax? Becoming a rational adult who grasps scientific facts!

“I am determined to keep our vaccination rate low!! I want my citizens to die!” [….]

Big surge in Springfield! Big big surge in the non-vaccinated population of Springfield Missouri! Will you let the federal government come in and help with that?

Imagine Branson is 45 minutes South and COVID can be spread to all of your incoming guests and they can receive a free case of Delta Variant Covid courtesy of the Show Me State. to take home with them when they depart. The gift that keeps on giving.

Can we get some of those cool mobile units though? It’s as American as an ice cream truck, but for saving lives! Pretty please.

They have to do something since the state government has failed to convey to people how important it is to be vaccinated! Too many people don’t seem to understand the science or the need for everyone to do the right thing & get vaccinated if you want this to end!

Mike Parson works for the virus.

No one is being “compelled.” This inflammatory rhetoric reinforces the paranoia about getting vaccinated. And that same federal govt. that you disparage is sending workers to help deal with the overwhelming # of Covid cases in Springfield. This is just tragic.

Some science and common sense would be a welcome strategy in Missouri. [….]

Yes, fear mongering and utter apathy towards the issue is working splendidly.

Wow! You are actively making it harder for folks to get vaccinated. What is your problem @GovParsonMO

See above.

Has anyone told you we are leading the nation in new cases of the Delta variant? And that 99% of recent deaths could have been prevented with the vaccine? Can you step aside and let someone smarter take over?

It will be a strategy something that is lacking here at MO.
What is your strategy? Waiting? What actions have you done since June to get ppl vaccinated (Twitter doesn’t count). [….]

Mr. Biden never said door to door workers would COMPEL the vaccine. There may be homebound people who need someone to come to them.

See above.

What news source are you listening to and why do you choose to continue to be manipulated by it?

Just a guess:

“Faux News channel, fascist groupies” – protest sign, circa 2003- 2004.

At this point, you need to do whatever necessary to get people vaccinated. What you’ve been doing clearly is not working.

Do we still have a health department?

By “compel” do you mean asking people who can’t get to the pharmacy if they would like to one?

No one in government is “compelling” shots. That is not a thing.

Calm down chief, it’s just an outreach campaign.

He already knew that. And yet…

GovMike, where exactly did the DOH say it was going to force anyone to do anything?
We’ll wait.

Stop using the word compel. You know that’s not going to happen.

What do you suggest? What you’re doing isn’t working.

I wonder what he would say if he needed more than just his base to get elected? Or like, be a governor for his constituents?

So, what’s your plan to save lives? Or do you even care to save lives?

Governor- Your fears are sprouting fears. Might want to get that checked.

Of course not! Do nothing, that’s so much easier!

I think that doing literally ANYTHING at this point is a great idea. What are you doing to raise vaccination rates? Because what you’re doing right now ISN’T WORKING.

I mean, your strategy is totally working right? We’re not having issues with getting people vaccinated, right?

Is the verb compel or is it offer?

No one is going to compell vaccination, stop the fear mongering.

So…..do you have a better idea?

A perfect strategy in Missouri’s never-ending race to the bottom.

Imagine having a platform and opportunity to help save lives and choosing not to.

I’ll never understand that kind of evil.

Do you have a strategy or are you praying it away?

You know they are not compelling anyone to do anything. What an irresponsible comment. Your incompetence is costing lives, resources, dollars.

And on and on…

Representative Billy Long (r) [2013 file photo].

This morning, from Billy Long (r):

Billy Long @auctnr1
Buddy of mine went to the Hospital in Springfield with #COVID Stayed 48 hours and just got home. Sent me a picture of himself on oxygen at home with this tag line… “Sent me home. Not dead enough to vote democrat.”
8:58 AM · Dec 1, 2020

That was so hilarious.

Some of the responses:

You’re an absolute embarrassment.

Mr. Long you represent me and my family in the United States House of Representatives, this is an office of high honor, your joke is not funny.

Our friend just lost her dad to Covid last week in a Springfield hospital. How can you represent our area that is seeing such an increase in deaths and make jokes about it? Absolutely disgusting!

One of my neighbors got sick in March with COVId and still cannot work full time.

I bet you think that’s hilarious.

Evidently he does.

It is more distasteful to tweet about death or conspiracy theories? Asking for a friend who cares about moral character and ethical behavior.

3,981 Missourians have died from COVID, but you’ve got jokes.

The voice of the GOP.

I truly sincerely from the bottom of my heart hope that you have a bad day

This is fucking disgusting.

No one is surprised by the company you keep.

This is disgusting. You have no honor.

You think this is somehow funny?

Amazing joke. Now do one about someone suffering from cancer.

hey there Billy, I’m a nurse in your congressional district who is EXHAUSTED, thanks so much for your support and all your hard work on my behalf, I’m gonna go make a donation to planned parenthood in your name as a token of my appreciation

Hahaha yes it’s funny because people are dying and you aren’t doing anything about it. Go kick rocks.

people are dying. you are a horrible person

good god man, wtf is wrong with you

I’m sure all the Missourians who died from COVID-19, Republican or Democrat, will think this is hilarious. You’re the reason we can’t get a damn thing done here because you take nothing seriously.[….]

Why are you all so proud of your stupidity and cruelty?

Why aren’t you visiting him at home? You’re not afraid are you?

Unbelievable slap in the face to the 100s of people that have died in your district from C19 while simultaneously belittling the efforts of health workers exhausting themselves to care for the perpetually increasing # of patients about to overwhelm our medical centers. Disgusting

I am deeply embarrassed you are my congressional representative. You are an embarrassment to us all. 159 people are at Cox South today. Why don’t you come home and see for yourself?

Jackass. 4000 dead in MO, Springfield hospitals full and this is the best you can do? How many of your constituents are mourning the loss of loved ones? Do you care at all?

You are hilarious!!! You are also a piece of shit!!!

You sick bad?ard, you actually think that’s funny? While people die everyday? I hope you rot in hell.

Aren’t you tired of always being the stupidest person in the room?

You are such a profoundly, deeply stupid human being, but what makes you notable is your lack of empathy.

Imagine posting something like this in the midst of a pandemic that has killed 267,000 Americans. You must be a pathetic shell of a man.

Wow, that you can make this joke and laugh shows your total lack of concern for your constituents who have died or are still suffering from this disease. You are a disgrace

Sad.

➖WE WILL BE PROCEEDING WITH THIS EVENT➖

Come enjoy the outdoor activities and the beautiful fall decorations!

#ParsonFamilyFallFest #FallFest2020
[….]
11:15 AM · Sep 25, 2020

Some of the responses:

#CovidFest2020

Free Covid-19 respiratory droplets for all visitors. No limit!!!!

#WTFiswrongwithyou You both have COVID right now. What part of “QUARRENTINE” Do you not understand?

Sounds like a really great plan to hold an event after testing positive for COVID. Seriously? People are dying. I think your “fun outdoor events” and pumpkins can wait.

Hey, maybe consider NOT doing this during a pandemic? Didn’t you and your husband just test positive?

I mean, as far as I know you can’t get DOUBLE covid, so they have nothing to lose but the lives of their most vulnerable constituents

This is not a good idea. I would think twice about inviting children and families. Missouri remains a problem state for coronavirus. We’re all better off with a mask mandate, right? Get well soon!

42 people died from Covid in the last 24 hours just in Missouri.

Apparently that means nothing to these people.

#governorCOVID

This is selfish.

In addition to getting #covid19, other #fallfest2020 events include unprotected sex with strangers, sharing needles and Russian roulette. Should be a knee-slappin good time.

this is irresponsible.

This is wildly irresponsible, disrespectful and dangerous

#ParsonFamilyCOVIDFest

I’m a RN. Please do not go through with this event. Please listen to the scientific community. We are worn out.

Terrible call! Such disregard for the health of the people of Missouri.

This seems…not smart.

Come share Covid with everyone.

Come for the cookies, stay for the ‘rona

Didn’t your husband back out of a debate tonight because of covid?

didn’t y’all JUST test positive for COVID-19? Maybe sit this one out.

Do you have to bring your own thoughts & prayers or will the event be providing them along with the free coronavirus diagnosis?

Will you and your husband be manning the kissing booth this year?

I’ll be avoiding it like the plague, thank you very much.

Dammit. I’ve already got plans to go lick carts at Walmart that day….

Do those who show up have to sign a waiver?

Free covid for all!

Totally Irresponsible.

What could go wrong?

No thank you. I’d rather be healthy.

Proceeding with an event like while both YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND have tested positive for COVID-19 is asinine! Its no wonder our states cases are out of control when you haven’t cared one bit about the safety of the people who live here. #voteparsonout #COVIDIDIOTS

Are you trying to get everybody sick?

“Masks optional, social distancing whatever.”
THEY LEARNED NOTHING.
#PoliticsOverContagion

What’s wrong with you?

Irresponsible. Deadly. Disrespectful. You are the worst.

Got to keep pretending everything is okay and normal!

Uhhhhh that’d be a hard no. You should have worn a mask like the CDC told you to. You’ll be shedding virus like a maple tree doffs it’s leaves in October.

Are you effing kidding? The governor NEVER gets to say he cares about Missourians ever again.

This is outrageous and irresponsible. I’d hoped your experience would impress upon you both the desperate need for a statewide mask mandate, which that “radical” state of Arkansas has. Are you determined to press your foolishness on the rest of us?

Your festival will spread #COVID19 ; if you had a conscience or sense of moral responsibility that would upset you.

Yes, why keep the covid all to yourself.

Gurl, if you’re supporters really want to own the libs, no masks! Kiss each other! Lick door knobs!! It’s all a hoax, right? Have fun!

Wow, so tone deaf. Meanwhile our nursing homes continue to battle COVID every day because of the irresponsible policies and behaviors of you and your husband. We lost another soul at ours yesterday. But by all means, have a party.

Uhhh ….No Thanks. Keep your Covid to yourself.

At almost 60 year old, I make my first tweet to say “Are you fucking nuts?” You are COVID + and that shit kills. Did you know that?

No thanks…I don’t go to super spreader events held by those who don’t give a damn about spreading COVID.

I think there is something wrong with you.

I would try to explain how idiotic it is to host an event like this when you are currently actively recovering from Covid, but that would require you to have the mental/emotional capacity to understand why it is bad to spread Covid to others. You are a disgrace to this state.

Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes.

What is wrong with you? #ShowMeCovidiots

From the CDC, in May:

High SARS-CoV-2 Attack Rate Following Exposure at a Choir Practice — Skagit County, Washington, March 2020

…On March 17, 2020, a member of a Skagit County, Washington, choir informed Skagit County Public Health (SCPH) that several members of the 122-member choir had become ill. Three persons, two from Skagit County and one from another area, had test results positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Another 25 persons had compatible symptoms. SCPH obtained the choir’s member list and began an investigation on March 18. Among 61 persons who attended a March 10 choir practice at which one person was known to be symptomatic, 53 cases were identified, including 33 confirmed and 20 probable cases (secondary attack rates of 53.3% among confirmed cases and 86.7% among all cases). Three of the 53 persons who became ill were hospitalized (5.7%), and two died (3.7%)…

Of course, we can count on Josh Hawley (r):

Please find a new topic to harp on. Here’s one that concerns all of us. How come it takes 10-14 days to get a Covid-19 test result back? It’s unconscionable that 6 months into the pandemic, we’re still this bad at the most basic aspect of controlling it. #GOPFAILEDUS

Singing in California, Confederate statues in the South, the NBA… Is Josh Hawley ever concerned about what is happening in Missouri? Nope, he just likes novelty issues that he can virtue signal over. Easier than governing.

Have you read the statistics on how many people have gotten Covid from indoor services? On no, that’s right, the President removed the statistics from the most knowledgeable source. Are you sending your children back to school? Do you attend services with singing?

My church actually values the safety of its congregation by holding virtual services. We are still able to gather and worship God without putting each other in harm’s way.

Yes because you can’t pray at home in a pandemic- it’s in the Bible somewhere – also I love that verse about not helping others and protecting each other is not allowed.

Stop pandering and do the right thing.

Not gonna happen.

How foolish.

Just stop

Quit Whining

Since I’m from Missouri, flattering words neither impress nor convince me. I’m gonna need you to show me.

So if the parishioners would like to attend in-person services with dozens and hundreds of others, and spray each other with potentially contagious droplets, and then go out in the world and do the same to others, whose freedoms have been violated?

So your god only cares about you if you gather in large groups and sing? Those prayers are somehow more important to your god than they would be if your prayed silently by yourself to keep others safe? Sounds like a pretty crappy god.

Senator, you’re full of crap.

Your lack of common sense is astounding.

We knew that.

Representative Vicky Hartzler (r) has a solution with no actual plan:

Rep. Vicky Hartzler @RepHartzler
As a mother and a former teacher, I know firsthand students rely on their schools for sense of purpose, vital nutrition, and a place of stability. That is something worth fighting to protect. It’s time for students to return to the classroom.

Sociopath.

Some of the comments, as always, priceless:

You could fight for increased funding to our schools to ensure they’re safe…

…but you oppose sending federal money to help state and local governments.

You’ve also cast votes to underfund education.

You can’t decrease resources + increase responsibilities.

Killing teachers and children.

What is your plan to protect school employees and students’ families from becoming infected? Should they suffer and die in order to get our kids back in school? We’ll be turning some of those kids into orphans. Educated orphans, but orphans nonetheless.

It is really hard for kids to enjoy school when they are fighting brain damage, lung damage and blood clots. Also when they accidentally kill Grandma, it isn’t good for their mental health.

Vital nutrition , place of stability and sense of purpose. If your dead none of this matter.

What’s the plan for keeping our children safe?

If we’re going to reopen we need resources to be committed to that effort immediately, not siphoned off to private schools by the Secretary of Education. We need to start securing bigger spaces, hiring staff, and planning and all we get in Missouri are directives and budget cuts.

It will be time when it is safe to do so and not a moment sooner.

You’re a fucking idiot.

Teachers, custodians, staff — are you going to have enough testing available? Currently nursing home staff is being tested 2x week. Not bad if you’re in a low infection state and people are wearing masks. But are you all ramped up for the fall? I bet not.

Which public school will you be volunteering at this fall?

You first.

Yet another Republican willing to throw average citizens under the (school) bus.

Forcing school to reopen with out the financial assistance to efficiently combat COVID is the dumbest policy proposal ever.

What about the teachers you are getting ready to kill?

But protecting young people from spreading the virus to their homes and communities is also vitality important isn’t it? Are school employees over 60, whether it’s a teacher or a cleaner or a bus driver, exempt from being forced to return? Otherwise it’s like a Petri dish.

You know, science.

It’s time for students to return where it’s safe. Schools are superspread events waiting to happen, a number of kids bringing it home to their families, followed by exponential growth. Don’t be a killer, show some common sense and compassion. Show some independence from Trump.

“…Show some independence from Trump.” Not gonna happen.

I’m a constituent and a teacher, I can’t even by lysol wipes or spray for my home? How are you going to keep my young adult students safe when we can’t even wipe down their desks?

No. Children need their parents alive and healthy and able to care for them. Get rid of the virus first. Children will spread and bring the virus home to the adults. It’s not rocket science. Then what? Sick adults. Who takes care of the children? Use logic, have patience.

As a parent of children still in school, I prefer my children alive.

My kids will go to school when it’s safe for trumps buddies to go to prison.
You can’t have it both ways…it’s either safe, or it’s not.

As a former teacher, how do anticipate opening safely? Districts have been chronically underfunded so where will they find the money to pay for the equipment and supplies needed to keep students and adults safe? Who will be responsible for the medical expenses of sickened staff?

Thats a bold take for my home town newspaper. Actively condoning the death of over 600 teachers. With a million K-12 students in Missouri some will die. No mention of the impact our representative is ok with. No push to get her to take a firmer stance on masks and PPE. Total BS

I can’t believe the Republicans picked this hill to die on.

No, they picked this hill for you to die on.

The windows to your soul are vacant.

I don’t think we’re ready for that yet, we need to make sure that the teachers and staff won’t be adversely affected by this decision. They didn’t sign up for that kind of hardship, and they aren’t paid for it.

Can you assure that it is as safe as possible, amid this surge of cases? Are you confident it won’t make the the pandemic worse? No of course not, you don’t care about our lives or our children, you care about politics and money.

Go to hell

We’re all already there.

I’m so damn happy you’re not teaching. Last thing we need is dumber students.

Kids rely on their parents protection, first, last and always. That was a stupid statement. If we have placed so much responsibility on our schools, we have MUCH bigger problems and need to work on that before sending kids to germ pools.

it frightens me that someone so opposed to facts used to be a teacher.

I Already set up my classroom so where I can barricade the door in case of a school shooter.

I guess I’ll just have to figure out how I’m supposed to keep the kids and myself safe when schools are barely cleaned during the school year as it is.

This tweet…. did not perform well, honey.

The Republican Party is a death cult.

And how are you going to protect them? Easy to say that they must go back to school, but what precautions are being taken to protect them and their teachers?

And on and on.
