Today:

MSNBC @MSNBC
.@GarrettHaake discusses Sen. Hawley’s conduct on the second day of fmr. President Trump’s impeachment trial: “He’s been sitting with his legs up on the seat in front of him, essentially reading non-related material.”
[….]
1:19 PM · Feb 10, 2021

Some of the responses:

Hawley told my colleague @JulieNBCNews that he was reading the trial briefs while in the gallery.

Can he comprehend? So far the signs are not good.

Not paying attention to the actual case he is supposed to be a juror for because he was too busy reading the briefs? Like reading Cliff Notes before a big test on Chaucer?

This is a jury trial, and Hawley is a member of the jury. Therefore, if he is not paying any attention to the case being presented, he should be removed.

I’m starting to hate Hawley as I much as I hate Cruz

Hawley knows the truth. He chooses to ignore it. That’s the worst part.

And he’s making it clear, despite the facts, he has zero worry about accountability.

It’s remarkable how our political system elevates and rewards people who have so much contempt for our system. People like Hawley think the system serves them.

Well, it always has.

And he made sure the press noticed, because it is all a big show to him

“Constitutional lawyer” your ass.

Josh Hawley (r) [2016 file photo].

Last night:

Josh Hawley @HawleyMO
Today Democrats launched their unconstitutional impeachment trial while President Biden cancels thousands of working class jobs across this country. Americans deserve better
7:34 PM · Feb 9, 2021

Tell it to the microphones:

“The most dangerous place to stand in Washington D.C. is any place between Senator Josh Hawley and a live microphone” – Charles P. Pierce

Some of the responses:

Trump knew the capitol building was under attack, and that Pelosi, Schumer and hoyer were begging the governor of MD for assistance. He denied it for 2+ hours. According to us code, assisting in rebellion is insurrection.

[….] This game is called which human insecurity is Josh Hawley trying to exploit for political gain TODAY?

False: The impeachment is constitutional, that is why they voted in the Senate today. U were there so u know. President Biden’s initiatives will create millions of clean sustainable jobs.
We definitely deserve better than someone who showed a fist in solidarity with rioters.

Missourians deserve better

Really where? You GQP want to go back to horse & buggy days and coal furnaces. Americans want clean energy. Clean water air and less illness. Unfortunately, GQP have canceled science. Science has always been superior in the US but not for the GQP it’s a threat. Get over it.

There was a bite in this. Apparently 6 Republicans didn’t agree with you.

Sit down Senator Proud Boy

[….]You saluted neo-Nazis. But go on and try to talk about American values.[….]

You need to know that the 81 million of us that came out and defeated Donald Trump are going to come out and defeat you if you even *think* about running for the presidency.

You
Will
NEVER
Be
President.

Ever.

Josh, it was Mitch who refused to vote on impeachment before Trump left DC, so this is an extra cynical cup of hogwash.

We absolutely deserve better than whiny, phony sycophants like you who peddled the big lie encouraging violent insurrectionists to storm the capitol to execute the VP and members of Congress. There’s blood on your hands. Resign!

You’re Q

You’re guilty too

Where did you go to law school again? I think you should ask for a refund.

Senate votes trial constitutional. Go sit down.

I thought you were being silenced. Everywhere I look I end up reading one of your rants.

“Repeat the lie until it becomes true” eh, Josh? I am not an exceptionally intelligent man and I see through you. If your voters can’t, they must be exceptionally unintelligent.

I’ll explain this again. Your argument essentially is saying the Founders were idiots. That they didn’t see the loophole. They included two remedies, removal AND disqualification. They saw that there may need to be accountability trials of former officials.

I’m not for sure why you post Josh. You get very few positive replies. Maybe if you moved back to Missouri people might like you better

He’s so starved for attention that he doesn’t care if it’s good or bad attention.

Imagine thinking anyone listened to your constitutional opinions anymore.

We need more of you to be Patriots and save our country from the elite and the rich liberals that want to destroy our country!
Thank you Josh

There are so many of “them”.

We deserve better than you, that’s for sure. #MOdeservesbetter

I wish you could feel shame.

Hawley prefers his alternative universe to reality.

I see that your insurrection fist is still high in the air.
Traitor.

They certainly deserve better than having you represent them.

“…For now, I will take her at her word, but I will be watching.”

Last night:

WAGNER STATEMENT ON CONGRESSWOMAN MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE

Feb 4, 2021 Press Release
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO) released the following statement on Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene:

“The statements and conspiracy theories promoted by Representative Greene, including QAnon, calling into question school shootings, anti-Semitic and other offensive slurs and threats, have no place in the Republican party. To be clear, I find the statements and actions in question abhorrent and firmly untethered from reality. They only serve to place people in harm’s way and should be shunned by all Americans.

“It is also true that these actions took place before she was a Member of Congress, and her constituents appeared to largely be aware of them when she was elected. This is the People’s House, and removing Members from committee assignments for actions and comments prior to their service would set a bad precedent in Congress.

“I spoke with Representative Greene one on one last night and she made it clear to me she no longer believes the dangerous views espoused in her previous statements, and that she will not advance such views as a Member of Congress. She has now publicly expressed regret on the Floor of the U.S. House for her past actions and statements.

“For now, I will take her at her word, but I will be watching.”

Rep. Wagner (r) must have missed Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (r) floor speech last night.

“…It is also true that these actions took place before she was a Member of Congress…”

From Marjorie Taylor Greene (r), while a Member of Congress:

Congressional Democrats Threaten Yet Another Coup Attempt Against President Donald Trump
January 11, 2021
Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JANUARY 8, 2021

Washington D.C. — Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene released the following statement on the Democrat threat of Impeachment:

“For the entire four years of the greatest Presidential term of our lifetime, Democrats led by Speaker Pelosi and radical Socialists in her party attempted coup after coup against President Donald Trump.

Whether it was threatening to remove the President with phony 25th Amendment attacks, ridiculous Russian collusion conspiracy theory lies, or false criminal accusations about a perfect phone call with the Ukrainian Prime Minister, Democrats tried to overturn the 2016 election because they simply couldn’t handle the results.

Not only have the radicals in the Democrat Party tried to throw out the will of the American people, they have attacked anyone who dares support this President.

Everyone remembers the last four years of political censorship by the Silicon Valley Cartel targeting President Trump and his millions of supporters. Everyone remembers the occupation of the Senate office buildings by the Communist Women’s March screaming lies about Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Everyone remembers the harassment of Republicans including Senator Rand Paul, who was surrounded by a violent Black Lives Matter mob in the streets of Washington, DC. And, of course, everyone remembers the entire year of domestic terrorism conducted by Antifa / BLM militants, and championed by Democrat elected officials.

Now, 12 days before the 2021 Presidential Inauguration, these same Democrats, following their marching orders from the activist spokesmen in the Fake News Media, are launching another lie-filled assault on our Republic by threatening to impeach our duly-elected President, yet again.

Speaker Pelosi’s pursuit of impeachment will not “heal and unite” this nation as Joe Biden has called for in speeches. Another coup attempt will only further inflame half of the country.

This Hail Mary attempt to remove President Trump is another attack on the Silent Majority that Democrats have always looked down upon.

I have a message for Democrats, including Joe Biden: the time of demeaning and destroying conservative Americans simply for their beliefs has come to an end.

The new generation of MAGA Republicans will not back down to your threats. We will not back down from the smear campaigns from the Enemy of the American People, the Fake News. And we will not be silenced by Big Tech who wants to end free speech.

We will stand up and defend the 75 Million Americans who you are trying to cancel and ruin the lives of for daring to reject your Marxist ideology.

President Trump taught us how to defend our values.

We aren’t going away. We will never give up.

America First. Always.”

That was after the sedition and insurrectionist breach of the Capitol.

Gaslighting again.

Representative Vicky Hartzler (r) [2018 file photo].

Today from Representative Vicky Hartzler (r):

Rep. Vicky Hartzler @RepHartzler
Today, we remember the life of Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick as he lies in honor in the Capitol Rotunda.

The sacrifices made by Brian, as well as officers Howard Liebengood & Jeffery Smith, will never be forgotten.

May these heroes rest in peace.
[….]
8:24 AM · Feb 3, 2021

Some of the responses:

Vicky: Where is your condemnation of those members of the House and Senate, members of your party, who, through their words and deeds, helped facilitate the death of Brian Sicknick and attempted to overthrow our government?

she was one of them

What hypocrisy! Your refusal to acknowledge election results played a supporting role in this tragedy. You have refused to impeach the man who caused the riot that led to the officer’s death. You should be ashamed.

Narrator: “She isn’t.”

HOW ABOUT APOLOGIZING FOR YOUR HELP CAUSING THE INSURRECTION THAT GOT HIM KILLED.

If you go, be sure to apologize for being part of the insurrection.

Honor him by convicting Trump and then resigning

ummmm you helped kill him

And we remember that you signed up to overthrow the results of the free and fair election thus giving oxygen to this group of domestic terrorists to take apart our democracy.

We won’t forget. You are culpable, look at his casket and know that you helped do this.

Let’s face it , Vickster.
The one and only reason you are tweeting this is because you got ratioed badly on your last tweet.
That officer is dead because of your actions.

These heroes died because you incessantly lied to your kooky constituents. Those thugs tried to finish the job YOU started trying to overthrow the election results.

#Shame

Please spare us the empty posturing.

Those heroes died because of an angry mob fired up by lies told by Trump and perpetuated by Hartzler.

Hartzler has yet to admit to to those lies or apologize so the notion that she has any plans to honor anyone is ghoulish.

Weren’t you part of the conspiracy to commit sedition group? His death is on your hands.

You were complicit in his death through your failure to accept the results of a free & fair election where Biden won overwhelmingly.

You fed hatred that resulted in our nation’s capitol building being overrun by terrorists.

Sticknick deserved better than you & so does America

Too bad you didn’t think about our Capital Officers before you supported terrorists who killed one and beat and maimed others.

How can you sleep at night knowing you participated in an insurrection that caused his death? Shame on you.

He sacrificed his life to protect Congress from the angry trump supporters. The people that believed lies about the election and you did NOTHING to dispute those lies. You let them grow and fester until these terrorists came to believe they could overthrow the government. You are…responsible for this officer’s death by being complicit. You chose not to protect democracy. I will never vote for a republican again after the insurrection that the GOP allowed to happen.

There’s that.

Insurrection, Josh Hawley, Lincoln Project, missouri, sedition, U.S. Senate

Josh Hawley (r) [2016 file photo].

From the Lincoln Project:

The transcript:

Narrator: Senator Josh Hawley.
You ran in the right circles.
Went to the right schools.
Your path was set, but you blew it.
After a lifetime of preparation, you’re going to lose it all.
And as the walls close in, remember,
you
did this.
You did this,
and this,
and you did this.

Videos like this one,
showing an officer being crushed by rioters

Narrator: It’s your fault, Josh.
You led it.
You own it.
You spent your life
trying to become someone that history would remember
Well, Josh,
you got your wish.

A center of attention. Isn’t that special?

Some of the comments:

This take down is going to be satisfying to watch.

He’s still trying to hang on by his fingertips……but the spectacular fall is coming. A creep in denial is pathetic to watch.

Pop some popcorn!

Pass the popcorn.

He’s put his money on the wrong horse. He’s going to lose.

Hawley is everything that a leader shouldn’t be.

It is called to be on the wrong side of the History.

I prefer my elected officials to NOT be traitors.[….]

The condemnation and consequence and accountability has to come within the ‘current’ republican party and McCarthy and McConnell and all of their leader ship has shown only cowardice, this country will continue to pay the cost of their failure.

And definite traitor, whether witting or unwitting doesn’t matter. Traitor is the name history will remember him by.

Oh it’s witting. He knows exactly who he incited.

There is no room for sedition in our democracy. Hold every seditionist accountable. No one is above the law. Ashamed that he represents MO a state he doesn’t even reside in. For shame.

I wouldn’t trust this guy to dog sit my pooch, much less govern.

As someone who lives in Missouri and is ashamed of Josh Hawley’s conduct, I love this ad.

Yep, Josh Hawley belongs in the Hall of Shame for sure.

100 years from now when somebody down his line does some ancestry research ,they’ll probably be disappointed, embarrassed and sad

Josh “fist bump to traitors” Hawley you did this

Put all your eggs in the Trump basket. Would have been easier to work for respect.

Ain’t that always how it goes?

I wonder how him and his family feels seeing this devastating ad all over the airwaves? When will these people understand that everything that Trump touches dies

Great takedown! He deserves this and SO much more for his actions.

As bad as he’s been, Hawley will get worse.

He says he’s not being allowed freedom of speech. I do not think it means what he thinks it means. Such a tool.

The word “deplorable” comes to mind.

They used to say “The most dangerous place to stand in Washington DC is any place between Senator Josh Hawley and a live microphone.”

Now, the most deadly place in America is anywhere between Senator Josh Hawley…and the Lincoln Project.

Phenomenal ad. Phenomenal.

Still do.

“The most dangerous place to stand in Washington D.C. is any place between Senator Josh Hawley and a live microphone” – Charles P. Pierce

Unprincipled ambition. If he is willing to do this to get ahead, what else has he done?

When I see the pictures of that day,I feel sad, angry, mad. History won’t forget Josh, you were on the wrong side of it. Someday the books will say so.

Another over-ambitious, self-absorbing politician who doesn’t have any principles. I will never trust this man.

You’d think that his Stanford and Harvard law education would shape him into a person guided by a moral compass , coupled with civility and wisdom- to differentiate between right and wrong. Well, it seems all of that went out the window on Jan 6th…

In anything having to do with numbers and data: “Garbage in, garbage out.”

Some people just have the heart and soul of a fascist. He is one of them.

Ouch.

And on and on.

The first rule of holes: When you find yourself in a deep hole, stop digging.

The first rule of republicans: Projection doesn’t just happen in movie theaters.

The first rule of Josh Hawley (r): “Where’s the microphone?”

Today, in self-serving arrogance:

Hawley Calls for Investigation into Democrat Abuse of Senate Ethics Process
Monday, January 25, 2021

U.S. Senator Josh (R-Mo.) is filing a counter-complaint today against seven Senate Democrats who called for an ethics investigation into his objection to certifying Pennsylvania’s electoral count. The Democrats admitted in their complaint that Hawley’s electoral college objection was lawful. In a letter to the seven Democrat Senators, Senator Hawley called out the senators for their historic partisan abuse of the Senate ethics process and potential coordination with dark money groups.[….]

Project much?

Billboard in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Missourians are going to be reminded of that raised fist for a long time.

You think he sees that billboard every day on his commute between his home in Virginia and the Capitol? Just asking.

This is what we get:

Josh Hawley @HawleyMO
It’s time to stand up against the muzzling of America
[….]
8:35 PM · Jan 24, 2021

Seventeen days of silence from the seditionist on his Twitter account until today. And all we get is self-serving whining.

Some of the responses:

Strange muzzling. You announce the muzzling on a Big Tech platform about a column in a major newspaper. Me thinks you protest too much.

#JoshHawleyIsATraitor #joshhawleyisaliar #JoshHawleyResign

You wanted to disenfranchise MILLIONS of voters. You wanted to muzzle people of color. WTF is wrong with you.

Sweetie, you’re not being cancelled. You being held accountable for your actions in supporting insurrection. Take several seats, Josh.

How can someone who is cancelled have an op ed in the Post?

You don’t seem terribly muzzled.

“The most dangerous place to stand in Washington D.C. is any place between Senator Josh Hawley and a live microphone” – Charles P. Pierce

The senator is complaining about being ‘muzzled’ for challenging the results of a free and fair election. He believes ‘cancel culture’ is silencing him after he helped incite an insurrection that left five people dead, including a police officer.

He also believes it’s unconstitutional for a private company to cancel a book deal. The victim complex on this one…

You tried to disenfranchise millions of voters in a seditious plot and are whining about this?

Have you no honor?

Oh cut the shit. You are guilty of sedition and need to be removed.

You are a disgrace to the office and we will never forget what you did.

It’s time for you to Quit.

This guy literally incited a riot…on his own free will… and now he’s whining about some censorship bs

It’s time to stand up to seditionists

You’re a traitor and that’s how you’ll be remembered, Senator.

So you wrote an op-ed that made the cover of the NY Post and it’s about (checks notes) having your voice muzzled.

How fortunate the US would be if that was in fact true.

The irony is completely lost on him.

So elitist to write for a New York paper. I thought you were the senator from Missouri. Is Missouri not good enough for you?

If it were good enough for him he’d live there

You weren’t muzzled. You spoke out and caused a bloody insurrection.

Stop deflecting from your sedition

The muzzling of Americans?

You mean like when you tried to muzzle the votes of 81 million Americans? Including me?

Literally fuck off, dude. Consider, just for one hot second, that you might have been in the wrong.

Our State is dying Senator. Stop whining about your book deal and do your job.

Since your actions are deserving of censure and expulsion from the Senate, I’m not surprised you are opposed to consequences.

The picture of privilege – having a national platform from which to speak.
You’re not being muzzled, you’re being held accountable.

Five people died in a right wing attack on the Capitol you incited. They’re silenced now. You did that. Resign.

Difference between being silenced and being ignored.

New York Post op ed. Very relatable to a Missourian.

Your. Career. Is. Over.

Stop fighting it. It only makes it sadder.

Your first tweet in days could have been much, much better than this.

Your actions will have consequences, now it’s time for you learn about the 14th Amendment.

It’s time to resign, you lying, seditious traitor.

But you had no issue with trying to muzzle me and the millions of others who didn’t vote for Trump, though, did you?

“I’m being censored… here’s a link to an op-Ed I wrote in a major publication about it.”

It’s time to stand up to seditionist, inciting, traitors and expel them from the Senate. Your whining isn’t going to make us forget.

“Local DC socialite and Ivy Educated lawyer Josh Hawley is furious after being unable to find constitutional clause that would force private bookseller to publish his fascist manifesto after attempting overthrow of American democracy“

I’m constantly amazed that there a group of ppl that believe ppl like @HawleyMO when they say they are silenced, “muzzled”, etc. when they see them say it in front of a camera or read their exact words they have tweeted or told a reporter to report.

How can silence be so loud?

You refuse to talk to local media. You aren’t muzzled.

You misspelled “I resign.”

I too have been muzzled by the New York Post’s front page

Man, I really hope you just shut the fuck up soon

Now you are doing fascist op-eds in the New York Post?

You are free to say whatever you want, and we are free to call it seditious.

The irony of being published in a New York City newspaper, sharing it on Twitter, and then having the audacity to say you’re being muzzled. The mind boggles.

republican campaign supplies.

And on and on…
