Yesterday:

Eric Burlison
[July 13, 2025]
Before we even *think* about legalizing illegal workers, we should kick the freeloaders off the couch and back into the workforce.
Welfare is the real job killer.

Some of the responses:

Your rural constituents make up the majority of welfare recipients in Missouri. What jobs and matching skills are open to them?

There’s an abundance of jobs. The problem is, people don’t wanna do em..

Living wage anyone? Earned sick leave? [That’s a “no” in Missouri.]

interesting that Eric and the GOP have had state control for 20+ year and driven this state to the bottom of every quality of life indicator.
What kinds of jobs? Minimum wage with no benefits? Welcome to Walmart. MO GOP shot down sick leave and wage increases. Underfunded schools and funded “school choice” which allows schools to pick and choose what students can attend. Sounds great right?

If it’s so terrible in Missouri you are free to leave at any time. I’d suggest Colorado which is 100% controlled by your pals the Demonrats and I’m sure you’ll fit right in.

“When the gods want to punish you, they give you what you wish for.”

well she’s correct about schools and school funding. Vouchers will make public schools worse than they already are. Here in SW Missouri there are not many high paying jobs, especially if you don’t have an education. Educated people tend to be more left leaning. So it seems this is the GOP plan.

It’s factual. I live in a town with under 5000 people total, and our county is well under the poverty level. People do not want to work, they will lose their government benefits. This is factual. I was a manager at a restaurant years ago, and someone actually came in and told me they could only work 12 hours a week or they would lose their food stamps.

Left out the parts about paying a living wage and providing access to employer paid health insurance, right? The plural of “anecdote” is not “data”.

Many of these people are already working.

Hey Eric, you are the one on the dole. 🙂

What, exactly is ” welfare”?

Uh, subsidies for corporate agriculture?

Isn’t it freeloading by asking people to pay for your election, instead of using your own money?

I think it’s called something else when the money comes from corporate interests.

Time to wrap up your campaign Eric : Not a SINGLE good thing said about you : While you sit in your FANCY home (with aliens lol 👽) getting Tax Payer Paid PREMIUM Health Care : It’s time for you to pay for that YOURSELF! You’re completely out of touch (👽) And definitely not for the people!

Cancer patients should work?

Most of my friends who have or had cancer all worked and some are now cancer free and some have sadly died.

so because they had to do that it makes it a good thing?

yes!!! Says the GOP. Have seizures? I’m sure there’s a factory job for you!
Transplant patient you can work in customer service. Alzheimer’s? Meat packing plants. Dialysis patient? Into the fields.

that’s not true at all, that requirement is only for able bodied people who can work. It’s a minimum of 40 hours a month and they can volunteer somewhere, if they prefer!!

And what percentage is that?

how thoughtful of the oligarchs

Ma’am. Are we ALL going to have to go in to get our government mandated physicals to determine if we’re “able bodied?”
Government is going to make an “able bodied” worker class, and give us a star to wear?
Do me a favor, DO NOT lie to me that the GOP is about “small government.” Just own that it’s all about being intrusive, controlling and greedy.

if they are on disability, then technically by the records of doctors, they are not able bodied..

Well, actually, it’s actually.

exactly, but not everyone is disabled. You know, some disabled people want to work and may find more purpose in their lives. I had a deaf mute man who begged to be a dishwasher at the restaurant I managed, we were concerned due to hot and sharp things being carried and him unable to warn others. But he was determined and wouldn’t quit coming in to ask. We hired him, worked out a system and he was a great employee, it gave him such pride in hisself.

Left out the parts about paying a living wage and providing access to employer paid health insurance, right?

Keep beating that dead horse sir.

Elderly are suppose to work to the death, correct?

Or die earlier. Their choice.

Rural folks aren’t afraid of work. Freeloaders are.

That’s quite a persuasive marketing slogan there. Profit will follow soon.

Injured vets should work ?

What does that have to do with Jeffrey Epstein?

Well, somebody had to bring it up.

There are more important matters that need to be dealt with, like what are you doing to get the Epstein files released?

Do you even know what the current unemployment rate is? In Missouri it’s 4%. That’s near historical lows. For being in a Republican economy that’s good.

Most fraud, waste, and abuse comes from the provider side.

You know who are the real freeloaders? Representatives that ignore their constituents. I’m looking at you Eric.

Around 70% of welfare recipients are employed. Wtf are you talking about? How about not giving the guys who created this environment tax breaks if you want to save money, Eric Burlison?

Anf how the heck are you going to identify these “freeloaders”? By cutting funding? Delete thousands, good and a few bad. Great plan. NOT!

Just ask Rick Scott, who the fraudsters are! [….]

There’s that.

Rich mothers should stay home with their kids because it’s best for the kids, but poor mothers should work because getting assistance is freeloading? Just more mental gymnastics to justify screwing over poor kids because they deserve to be punished for being born poor.
Read Acts 4:32-35 if you ever actually open that Bible you thump.

The truth must be made known about Epstein and everyone involved!
Otherwise no one will ever trust the government or this administration again!

“…I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced…”

Epstein

Yeah …so when do you get a real job and quit shitposting on FB and shilling for the gun lobby?

How bout we get the healthcare you enjoy

Politicians like Burlison make policies that make life unaffordable and then demonize them. I think district 7 can do better with representation.

There you go.

Wolverines!

Josh Hawley (r) [2016 file photo].

Today:

Josh Hawley @HawleyMO
Joe Biden saying the Second Amendment is a “phony argument” – which about sums up his view of the Constitution in general
[….]
12:24 PM · Apr 8, 2021

As always, there is much hilarity in the responses:

How does what Biden did invalidate the 2nd Amendment?

While you are at it, why do we ban almost all civilians from owning a machine gun? Is it a phony argument that this ban is not supported by the 2nd Amendment?

Tell us, Josh.

What does well-regulated mean.

Whatever the NRA tells him it means.

Even in the 2nd Amendment, The word “regulated” appears several times in the US Constitution. Its meaning is clear.
Inciting insurrection is yet another matter and you are
#GuiltyAF Josh Hawley!

Tfw well regulated militia means nothing to you
[….]

You should watch this again because that’s NOT what he said.

You obviously believe the Constitution is a phony argument as you were a leader of the terrorist attack on January 6. I guess the saying “It takes one to know one” is true.

Well REGULATED militia. Y’all seem to forget that part all the them. Thank goodness Biden doesn’t.

That’s not what he said but nice try with the clip out of context for more fear mongering. Doing nothing isn’t working
[….]

When did he EVER refer to the whole constitution? He speaking about the 2nd amendment and gun laws, don’t twist his words

Josh here doesn’t understand the concept of militia apparently.

…said a guy who literally incited an armed seige of his own government.

Senators that are owned by the gun lobby & incite insurrections can sit this one out

even Scalia said the Second Amendment was not absolute and gun ownership could be regulated.

Were you upholding the constitution when you invited a mob to invade the Capitol resulting in 6 deaths?

“Josh Hawley: The Face of New American Fascism”

“Hawley was the first senator to announce his plan to oppose the certification of Biden’s Electoral College win. Hawley’s action was “motivated by ambition” & to be the first member of the “Sedition Caucus”
[….]

you’re putting words he didn’t say in @potuss mouth and you know it full well

@POTUS said that no constitutional provision is absolute, and furthermore that he’s not doing anything contrary to the 2nd Amendment

Why do Republicans have such an aversion to the truth?

Why aren’t you in prison for sedition yet?

Don’t you ever get tired of misleading the American people Josh? Because we’re sure tired of it.
And we’ll never forget 1/6/21.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Admitting you’re part of a militia may NOT be in your best interests right now Joshy.

The new phrase appears to be “minutemen of the state”.

Didn’t they teach you “no amendment to the Constitution is absolute” when you were in law school? How could you have been a constitutional law professor and not know that?

Aww Josh..someday..when you grow out of puberty you’ll understand

Remind me again how many amendments have the word “regulated” in it.

1.6.21

Yeah, that and the photo are gonna keep coming up in perpetuity.

“Well-Regulated”

How come they won’t let me have a nuclear warhead ? My right to bear arms is being infringed !!!!

Trebuchet. What it lacks in rate of fire it makes up for in ammo flexibility.

That’s rich coming from the guy who tried to bring down our government.

You’ve finally answered the question “is Josh Hawley full of shit or just stupid?”.
Clearly you’re both!

Well what part of “well regulated militias” is true and applicable to life in 21st century America?

Using old language and obsolete circumstances to justify unregulated use of firearms is phony.

Like if you care about the constitution.

#ExpelJoshHawley
#SeditiousGOP

What part of “well-regulated” don’t you get, Josh? And what part of the 2nd Amendment isn’t a suicide pact?

Also, every constitutional right isn’t without limits, even the 2nd Amendment. But you know you that already, Yale Boy. You’re just leveraging white grievance for power.

but josh you’re an insurrectionist that supported overthrowing american democracy. if you think you’ll be remembered for anything else, you’re kidding yourself.

Maybe Josh or some other constitutional scholar can explain why I can’t buy Stinger missiles at Cabela’s. I can see why the 2A won’t let me buy arms that I can’t physically bear, but shoulder fired missiles seem like they’d be covered.

We’re telling you. Trebuchet is the thing.

Your sedition demonstrates your hate for that American document.

Always superficial in your argument; rarely any depth of understanding.

Whereas Hawley has always preferred sedition and treason.
[….]

Says the man who pumpfisted the insurrectionists before they stormed the capitol and tried to undo our whole consitutional system.

If you’re so strict about the Constitution then you should resign based on the 14th

Thank you for demonstrating another phony argument. This is fun, do another one

Josh tried to cancel half of America’s votes in the last election because he thought it would be an easy way to kickstart his 2024 campaign.

Maybe he should sit this one out.

Insurrections lecturing about the constitution, that’s rich

What part of “regulated militia” is it hard for you to understand?

People who raise a fist in support of insurrectionists lose their seat at the table. The FBI is comin’ for you, it’s just a matter of time…

That is called broken logic. He said the arguments abusing the second amendment are phony, not the second amendment.

I don’t expect you to be able to manage consistent logic.

All criticism and no action. That sums you up.

Ahh January 6 guy thinking he can speak with authority on the constitution.

We don’t take advice on the Constitution from seditionists.

Dude, you backed an insurrection to try to overthrow the government. You have no interest in the Constitution. THIS is a phony argument.

No. He said there were phony arguments about the second amendment.

Sedition is not constitutional….

Remember that “well regulated” part? You guys always forget that part.

Republicans: “The Constitution is absolute!”

The Constitution: “I have 27 Amendments.”

He didn’t say that. Do better.

Benedict Hawley says what?

Go fuck yourself, traitor.

What does the term “well regulated” mean to you?

Big sale on Amazon Prime tactical gear, get it now before it goes out of stock. XXXL and XXL are the most popular.

We see what you did there.
