The more than five-hour closed-door interview with Devon Archer by the House Oversight Committee, released hours before Trump’s appearance to face a third list of charges, provides fresh insight into how President Joe Biden’s youngest son used his relationship with his father, who was then vice president, to court foreign investors. Archer said Hunter Biden was using the “illusion of access” in Washington. Republicans on the panel hope to use their work to prod impeachment proceedings against the president. However, though pressed repeatedly, Archer offered no tangible evidence that Joe Biden’s role in his son’s work was more than saying hello during their daily family calls. Archer testified that over the span of their decade-long business relationship, Hunter Biden put his father on the phone around 20 times while in the company of associates but “never once spoke about any business dealings.” At one point, Archer was asked point blank: “Are you aware of any wrongdoing by Vice President Biden?” He responded, “No, I’m not aware of any.”

What’s unprecedented is a President with over 70 indictments. Over 400 witnesses that have testified and not a single one is a Democrat, all were Republicans. Multiple judges ruling against him that were nominated by Trump himself. And now three different grand juries of his peers have indicted him. Not to mention his own Attorney General has called him out for being crooked. But go ahead and blame it on Biden…because you have nothing else to offer. Other than the fact you are a former Attorney General who doesn’t believe in the rule of law.

Stop your lies. Over 70 witnesses, all REPUBLICANS and associates of Trump testified to the grad jury. Based on their SWORN testimony he was indicted. Our justice system works. And frankly you should also be indicted for what you did.

Thank you; I’m trying to understand how Missouri elects someone who doesn’t care about improving the lives of its residents. Missouri is one of the states listed as receiving the highest Federal Aid for underserved residents. Wages are low, the school systems are rated at the bottom, the wealthy are not fairly taxed, health care is abysmal, especially for women and children. I hope the voters educate themselves before marking their ballots in 2024.

He (Hawley) should be investigated for fomenting insurrection and then running like a little girl.

Good grief. Then we should look into the criminality of Hawley and his support/association with Jan 6 insurrectionists. Hawley continues to support the former president who has 71 pending felonies, and it appears there more to come. Until only recently, Hawley’s cover photo “proudly” displayed a picture of himself and the former president, who led an insurrection based on lies. Hawley promoted this man’s lies while giving the insurrection crowd a raised fist of support. And glory be, a Twitter post from Dec. 2020 shows that Hawley even has the support of currently indicted Meshawn Maddock, one of the Michigan fake electors, then Hawley went on to contest the Electoral Count even after the horrendous attack on the US Capitol.
But Hawley has never raised an eyebrow or criticized their lies or lawlessness. Biden has never had a hint of criminality in his past while the former president has a long history of questionable acts and immorality, many based on court testimony and court judgments, as well as testimony of close GOP close and attorneys. Recently, Hawley spoke at a Florida conference that featured the former president and many who reportedly participated in the Jan 6 insurrection plans, who still peddle 2020 election lies, and who continue to support the twice (soon to be three maybe four) times indicted former president who has already been found civilly liable for sexual abuse, whose charity was dissolved for misusing funds (stealing from charity), who closed his own university (settled out of court) due to “shocking pattern of illegality,” whose attorney and CFO were sent to prison for actions either ordered or approved by him.
Maybe the Congress should question Hawley’s criminality based upon his support, without reservation or remorse, of those who have and those who have allegedly committed crimes against our government. How much money does he receive for his on-going attempts to deceive his constituents?

And you tried to interfere in a fair election! Now you are scared you might be held accountable for your actions! Run, Josh, run!

I wish Missouri had a Senator that worked for the people of Missouri.

Your problem is not that a President may be corrupt. Your problem is that YOUR ex-President is being accused of serious crimes and you don’t want to have to admit, if necessary, that he was anything but perfect. It’s certainly not too nationalistic when you make up Patrick Henry quotes out of the blue. My question to you sir is this: If you indeed are all about being a good patriotic American, why didn’t you serve in the military? The US Military exemplifies all great virtues you claim for yourself. And yet, I have to call into question your honesty, integrity, and loyalty to anything other than yourself and your own ambitions and agendas.

Nationalism is just a polite word for Nazism.
We fought a war about this.

There is nothing wrong with pride in our country or protecting ourselves from economic attack by other countries. Nationalism, however, is not directed at one country, such as China, it closes our doors to all countries enemies and allies alike, and to all groups of people who do not agree with a single ideology, It is more like a child locking himself in the bathroom because his parents took away his tablet than it is like standing up to bullies. Globalism, on the other hand is like the six-year-old who stands up to the bully calling her her best friend with autism names. It takes the ability to be strong and confident as well as compassionate and willing to accept differences. I am not surprised you advocate so strongly for nationalism.

Hawley just can’t wait till he can recite the 14 words in public without worrying about his own well-being after.

Nationalism means identification with one’s own nation and support for its interests, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations. If this is what you are for, you don’t have my support. After all, our trade agreements are primarily done through the WTO along with several bilateral agreements. The US has done an awful job taking China to the WTO and fighting them there on trade practices. We are a great country, but we are nothing without our allies and most are also trading partners who buy American made goods and services.

Hey Josh…if the pandemic taught you nothing else it should be that we live in a global society, this country is affected by every other country on this planet. Its global. We have a global economy. What Hawley should’ve realized before promoting the quote is that Henry didn’t say it. The line was reportedly published instead by a white nationalist publication in 1956 — more than a century and a half after the founding father’s death.

On the surface, it’s obviously unfortunate to see a senator — a graduate of Stanford and Yale — make a mistake like this, especially as so many other Republicans also fall for fake quotes.

But let’s not brush past the underlying point the Missouri Republican was trying to make by way of a made-up line: Hawley seems certain that the United States was founded as a Christian nation, with members of one faith tradition — his own — enjoying exalted status over others.

This is really the most deceptive post, both in words and intentions to date. This is one of the GOP’s goals – “its okay to not be Christian (of the Government’s choice, but if you are not, then a different set of rules will apply to you.”) You must not be a real American if you are not Christian by their definition. This is not a stretch theory as the GOP controlled SCOTUS proved last week. They did something the courts have never done – they made a decision based on a hypothetical (there was no party in danger and the man’s name in the case was straight and married with kids and had no idea how his name ended up in court paperwork) and in their decision, the SCOTUS ruled that a Christian woman can legally discriminate against another protected class of people. The GOP and its policies are dangerous enough, but combined with SCOTUS, our democracy and freedoms are on the line. Who will be considered American anymore? DeSantis wants to end birthright citizenship, so you can be born here but not be automatically “American.” It’s time people took this rhetoric more seriously and less of a fad that we hope passes.

Someone should ask why would a Senator allow his staff to post this kind of divisive rhetoric the day before we celebrate our nation’s birth. Especially lies that are meant to do nothing but appeal to the base fear and ignorance of the population. Deliberately driving a further wedge into the cracks that are dividing our great republic. This is a perfect example of what is wrong with our political leadership.

Some of Hawley’s comments and those who agree with him mirror the Nazi comments when they were trying to take over Germany……that is what is really scary about Hawley and those who agree with his statements and actions.
