A mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic is happening right now in Bollinger County at the Knights of Columbus in Leopold. Officials say they still have over 1,000 doses to give out. No appointment is necessary, but you can register before hand at MOStopsCOVID.com/navigator. The event goes until 5pm today. KFVS-TV

4:40 pm update: 648 shots administered. 1,302 still available

this is insanity. Can you find out what they’ll do with the leftover vaccine? Possibly send them to St. Louis?

I just got this answered! I was told they will not go to waste. They will be transferred to another agency following MO DHSS protocols!

So many thanks! My daughter made a mad dash, two and a half hours on a moment’s notice hoping that a shot might be there and it WAS!!!

What percentage of the population isn’t able to drop everything and make a mad dash? Just asking.

Thanks so much for the great lead! My daughter (an educator) is rushing there but coming from STL is still a couple of hours away. If anyone gets there and finds they’re out of vaccine, I’d appreciate an update so I could keep her from driving the rest of the way.

Can you confirm address? I’m struggling to find the exact location

This wasn’t advertised well. I live 15 miles from there and didn’t know it was open to the public. I have been waiting for a vaccine for over a month. I have had two appointments that were canceled. I Amon a waiting list. Frustrating!

Missouri town with 65 residents receives nearly 2,000 vaccines for reasons unknown
February 25, 2021 Lucie Krisman

A mass vaccination clinic in Leopold, MO operated on a first-come-first-serve basis yesterday due to overallocation.

Gov. Mike Parson allocated almost 2,000 vaccines for the clinic. The Bollinger County town’s population of 65 did not fulfill that allocation, leading the health department to open the clinic up to anyone who wanted to be vaccinated.

[….]

In today’s COVID-19 press conference update, Gov. Mike Parson was asked if instances like this one, where rural counties have more shots than people showing up to get them, are a waste of vaccine.

“I’m not aware of that,” Parson says in response to the assertion that almost 66% of the clinic’s vaccines went unused. “Maybe you know more than what I evidently do, because I don’t think that’s the case at all.”

Killer defense, Mike. Great job.

While St. Louisans wait, rural vaccination events in Missouri have leftover doses
Governor Parson again defends vaccine distribution

EFFERSON CITY, MO (KMOX) -A Wednesday mass vaccination event in southeast Missouri’s Bollinger County, that saw only 648 of 1,950 available doses administered, has Missouri Governor Mike Parson defending the state’s distribution plan. Parson denied again that rural areas are getting more than their fair share of the vaccine. “The formula is the same wherever it is,” he says. “It’s based on the population where you are at so there’s nobody in rural Missouri getting vaccinated any more than anyone in urban areas. It’s just not happening.”

A state spokesperson says the 13 hundred doses that were not given out at the event, were sent to a major pharmacy in the area so they could be administered.

Thursday in northwestern Missouri, some 1,100 doses were sent to ta mass vaccination event in Princeton, Mo. Only 401 shots were given out Wednesday.

Roy Blunt (r) [2016 file photo].

Tuesday, on social media:

Senator Roy Blunt
January 26 at 2:45 PM ·
Statement on my vote to declare it unconstitutional for the Senate to proceed with an impeachment trial of a president who is no longer in office:
“I believe the constitutional purpose for presidential impeachment is to remove a president from office, not to punish a person after they have left office. No consideration was given to impeaching President Nixon when he resigned in 1974. The Constitution hasn’t changed and the Congress should not set a new, destructive precedent.”

Some of the responses:

How about removing his secret service protection after he spent his term making money off them. How about making sure he can’t run again. And most importantly, keeping him from getting intelligence briefings that he can’t be trusted to keep secret. Are those things worth doing?

I disagree Senator

You are helping to perpetuate the myth that trump won, and I suspect there will come a time when you will regret helping to destroy the Republican Party.

The house impeached him before he got out and the first time he should have been removed this was a unforgivable move on his part you cannot let him get by with this do your job

So, the president can not be held accountable while in office, because he is in office, and he can’t be held accountable when he leaves office, because he has left office. Using your logic, EVERY president is in fact a king or ruler, answerable to no one. Remember that when the Democrats use it against the Republicans.

So let me get this right(correct) – The senate decided to hold the impeachment trial after the inauguration so as not to disrupt the inauguration. Now, impeachment is wrong because he is no longer president. He was not going to be president on February 8th when Moscow Mitch decided that it was best to wait. So maybe Mitch should be tried for being an accomplice to Trump’s insurrection.

This guy is freaking nuts. He definitely needs to go.

I guess Roy doesn’t understand the constitution, but hey whatever.

Trump did incite an insurrection against the United States. That is a fact. And the Republican Party has supported him in all his antiAmerican behavior. Watching you stand behind Trumps shoulder in front of the cameras was always disappointing to me as a citizen of MO. You have been on the wrong side of all the care that we as a nation has taken to better our world. You will never have my vote, and I pray that you will have second thoughts about your backing of Trump, and instead back our country.

If only we had some arm of the government who’s job it was entirely to decide constitutionality…. oh wait isn’t that the Supreme courts job?
Pretty crazy were in a time where “unconstitutional” has become a catchall for anything Republicans don’t agree with. Lost an election, disagree with a long established policy, different point of view? Unconstitutional.

I say if the Senators do not want to do their jobs, just resign. In the years to come we will all find out exactly why all the GOP people are so terrified of #45. I remember the look on all their faces 4 years ago. The GOP party has lost their minds hopefully the conservatives will renew their fate in their party. Right now they look like fish on shore flopping around. Pitiful looking cowards for not doing their job!!!

So as a US Senator you choose to IGNORE and LOOK THE OTHER WAY when trump, the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES incited insurrection BY URGING his followers to storm and destroy the U S Capital – SEAT OF AMERICAN DEMOCRACY? YOU ARE NOT A PATRIOT.

Except he was in office when he did what he did, and the whole point is to keep history from repeating itself with another Trump campaign. Weird how anything the right disagrees with suddenly becomes “unconstitutional”.

I’m incredibly tired of Republican stall tactics that block legislative actions and enable individuals to avoid consequences. Former President Trump should be held accountable despite Mitch McConnell’s insistence on waiting until the day before Trump left office to accept the articles of impeachment from the House. We ARE paying attention and will vote accordingly in the mid-terms. If anyone believes Trump is done causing trouble they are wrong. Now is the time to stop this blight on our democracy.

Disagree. The destructive precedent is to ignore the dangerous actions of someone holding or having held the office of President. Maybe your position is guided by self-interest

Congress needs to follow through, and provide consequences for actions that led to some tragic events. They need to act accordingly to show future generations that behavior such as Trump’s and his cronies is not acceptable, and that there are consequences. To say, yeah well he’s gone now is also not acceptable and the process needs to be completed.

Fuck you Roy. Don’t you have anything else better to do? You fucking waste of space

There is whole list of people that need to be held accountable. Everyone is responsible for their own deeds and words.

Fuck all the way off man

For 4 years you have condoned everything that Trump has done. I believe that makes you just as guilty as Trump for the Jan 6, 2020 attempt to overthrow the will of the people. If you can’t prosecute Trump because he is no longer the president, then every politician that commits a crime while in office merely needs to resign and then you would say it’s too late to prosecute and for the sake of unifying the Country we need to just forget about it and move on. Get real Senator.

Without accountability there is no justice. Do your job Senator. If this was not an impeachable offense, what is?

Given the fact that we’ve impeached people who’ve left office before, your “belief” is obviously self-serving bullshit. You are giving license to future office holders to break the law, betray the country, and act horribly without possible consequences. You are a terrible human being.

And on and on…

Governor Mike Parson (r) [2018 file photo].

Today on Facebook:

Governor Mike Parson
This Christmas, let’s work to keep our families, our neighbors, and ALL Missourians safe during the pandemic. This means social distancing, wearing a mask, and washing your hands, not just one of these, but all three.
Be responsible. Avoid large gatherings and crowds. Limit interactions to less than 15 minutes. We know our actions DO make an impact. This is a critical time for our state, so let’s do our best to protect one another.
[…]

Some of the responses:

We’re not all Christians, Mike, keep your preaching to your personal page.

free speech. Not everyone is an atheist or or religion

and he is representing a government office which, by the constitution, means that he may not show favor to any one religion.

well I am and I want to hear it and give thanks. If you don’t like it simply log off

hah you have no authority either.

nah but the constitution does ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

well the constitution was written by Christians. Duh

good for you, go to church

well the constitution prohibits the government from favoring any one religion. Duh

ok take god off the almighty dollar

yes please. It was added in the 50s, like with the pledge.

bah humbug

I celebrate Christmas. That doesn’t mean I give my representatives a pass for violating the constitution.

sin e you don’t believe,,,it doesn’t exist, shouldn’t bother you in the least ,,,so move on,,,,,

I believe the constitution exists,,,so I won’t move on,,,

as I’ve pointed out multiple times, it prohibits favoring any one religion. See the Establishment Clause.

if you’ll notice in my original comment I suggested the governor post his personal beliefs on his personal page. This page represents his office.

it’s part of who he. Like I mentioned before if you don’t like it just log off

and like I’ve mentioned, that’s not how government representation works. If my representative is not following the constitution, I’m well within my right to express that and demand he do better.

all religion besides Christianity will get you thrown into hell fire.

That’s good to know.

I don’t care. That’s for church, not government offices.

I disagree

yeah, with the constitution.

Another thread:

5,000 dead Missourians. Failed leadership.

was he supposed to wipe your nose for you? Take care of yourself or move to one of the nanny states.

don’t worry.
Pelosi made sure you got 600 bucks. And illegal aliens get 1800.

WTF?

And 500 monthly in accidents car. 4000 a month in abortion. And all the killing 500 get real

those numbers simply are not true… MO averages about 700 or so auto fatalities EACH YEAR, not 500 a month… And who knows where you pulled that abortions number from… you’re clueless and a bit incoherent.

Take it up with China

Do you complain about flu deaths every year?

Now that you ask, yes.

yes because one man can control the actions of millions of people as well as a microscopic virus that was man made by Fauci in China.

could have done those 3 things 7 months ago. Could have worn masks and avoided public gatherings and social events with no masks. That’s a start. Failed leadership. Answer that

ot is called individual responsibility for your own actions. Freedom means there are consequences to choices and each must pay the toll for their own choices. If you want government control move to Germany, they are inspecting houses to be sure people never leave and fining them 500 Euros if people are not home when inspected.

Yes, but people are paying the toll for other people’s choices.

noone is paying a toll for anyone’s choice but their own. Avoid hotspoylts and danger zones and you will be fine if you keep yourself clean, get rest, exercise and stay away from people you ou do not know.
Everyone but me in my family is high risk and noone has gotten it yet because we have all been careful.

Not everyone has the luxury of staying away from people they don’t know. There are elderly and compromised people that are still in the work force. I know of an Amish woman who got it and she never leaves the community (she survived, at least).

Another thread:

You are in a secular office of the people. Not all of them are Christian. Do not use your public office to make wishes of just one religion. You have not noted Hannukah, Diwali, Kawanza, or Yule or any other winter Holidays. If you are only going to mention the holiday of your religion put it on your personal page.

Has reading comprehension issues:

obviously you know nothing about our constitution or what it was patterned on or what guidelines it followed. Try reading Leviticus in your Bible if you have one. It was based on Godly, biblical principles. And Christmas is the time we celebrate the birth of Christ. Other holidays have their own dates, so let them celebrate then.

Christmas isn’t a Christian holiday, it’s a pagan holiday.

hah. You have no authority.

WTF?

as a constituent I can ask that my leaders respect the people, and follow both the State and federal constitution. Based on your view, you have no power either, so what it the point of that statement?
[….]
…Yule is the Pagan Holiday. Christmas, specifically in the context of the Governor’s post is a Christian Holiday. It celebrates the birth of Christ. Hence the name Christ-Mass. As both a member of the Pagan Clergy, and having a degree in Religious Studies, I am a bit of an expert on this.

Whatever faith you are you must not observe kindness and not judging others!!!

High ideals. No follow through.

ah shut up. Read, view and pass if you can’t say something nice go protest somewhere else!

No, our constitution was not based on Biblical principles. You need to drop your Bible and read a factual history book. Here’s a real shocker for you, the people of Israel aren’t Christian and neither was Jesus.

once again you take something out of context. Did I say that America was a Christian nation. NO…I did not. I said it our constitution was based on Biblical principles, which in fact was given to Israel, God’s chosen people and nation. Read your Bible.

clearly you missed the post where he wished Happy Hannukah

the point is that Parson is only acknowledging one religion/religious holiday, and marginalizing other religions..

I didn’t take anything out of context. Maybe you need to return to school and quit reading the Bible.
The constitution protects your right to read the Bible, but is not based on Bible teachings.

yes! We are all free to worship who and how we please and our leaders should not be representing their personal beliefs. He should keep it to his personal page, not as the Governor

Democracy = majority rules over the minority. Majority voted him into office. He can express his religion as he likes whether in office, or after hours. If you wish to control others that much, go to a communist country.

WTF?

I do have authority. Given to me by Christ Jesus. I may be an expert too. Since I have an associate degree in theology and working on my bachelors degree. Your either for Jesus or your against Him.

one nation under God. Kick rocks…

Stay in school, kids.

Another thread:

Now the governor tries his hand at preaching to deflect from his gross lack of pandemic leadership, all the while chomping at the bit to get the vaccines going to somehow compensate for coronavirus deaths on his watch.

no worries you’re going to get your free $600. Born to live: live to die. Get a life lady.

get a life. He sure as hell didn’t cause the virus and what about you take care of yourself? I took care of myself. Didn’t wait around for anyone to tell me how to take care of myself.

“He sure as hell didn’t cause the virus”. Whoa that’s got to be yet another Parson level diversion quote. “Take care of myself”? Unfortunately not everyone in Missouri has that absolute luxury. Plenty have to get out in the public to earn a living and when the other do not use Covid precautions they expose the virus and infect others. Selfish Parson doesn’t want to require the mask to protect others obviously because it would hurt him politically. Instead, he diverts by preaching masking at us.

if you then think a mask protects you, then wear one. It does not need to be government mandated.

Uh, it protects others. Sociopath.

be happy for once!

It’s hard to “be happy” when infected Missourians are cramming our hospital beds and when Covid eats their lives away.

Mike Parson has done an excellent job. Probably why he was re-elected by the majority.

you make stupid look natural

if a mask can’t protect YOU, then how is it supposed to protect others? And there are millions of mask wearers, yet the numbers aren’t going down. Why? Because it’s a virus…only a good immune system can fight a virus. An continually worn masks deplete your own immune system. And fyi, I wear one where required, but am not stupid enough to wear in in my own car alone with windows rolled up, or outside in my yard with no one around. This is not about a virus. It’s about government control. Wake up!

This in definitely not the American Century.

That’s funny, you don’t look Jewish…

Primaries and caucuses that is.

Over the years on the social media platforms I use I restrict who and what I follow to the point that I know the vast majority of people who I encounter (read) to a few degrees of separation and/or I am fairly certain they’re real people.

And, I post on Show Me Progress. When someone comments here it is held until I approve it. Since I hold the keys to the shop I see all of the background information not available to the casual user, which includes the posting IP address and the commenter’s e-mail address. Again, I can ascertain if a comment comes from a real person with a fair degree of certainty.

In 2016 (see below) I wrote about the disaster that was the Missouri State Democratic Convention. That drew interactions and comments from Bernie Sanders supporters that ranged from polite condescension to outright hostility. Nothing, really, about party unity.

Now in 2020, at this point in the presidential nominee selection process after the Nevada debate and the question about having a plurality of delegates, not a majority, posed by NBC’s Chuck Todd (I know, he’s useless), I started seeing posted material from Bernie Sanders supporters, contrary to the DNC 2020 rules which all the candidates and their campaigns know, that the candidate with a plurality (if no one has a majority on the first ballot) should feel entitled to the nomination on the second ballot.

The last multiple ballot nomination at a Democratic convention took place in 1952.

Back to 2020. In my comments on various discussions about the issue I have pointed out that if no candidate achieve 50% + 1 on the first ballot, that’s what the subsequent ballots are for (and those ballots include “uncommitted” PLEO delegates).

Nothing has changed from 2016. In these various venues I have encountered self-identified Bernie Sanders supporters who have responded with comments, again, that range from polite condescension to outright hostility. One accused me of possessing a “broken centrist brain.” Heh.

There was one prominent exception. One. This person wrote, after I invited them to read my 2016 account and the subsequent comments on Show Me Progress: “…thanks to the link to your report on the state convention in 2016. I don’t dispute anything in it. You did a good job of reporting. I will say that I have put considerable effort into figuring out what to do with the ‘car we caught’ that day…”

So, here we are, four years later, in two caucuses and one primary out of 57, and very few people have learned any lessons from 2016.

I have no confidence that enough people will do so in time so that we can save ourselves.

Certainly thoughts and prayers are having no effect.

Representative Vicky Hartzler (r) [2018 file photo].

From Representative Vicky Hartzler (r) on Facebook:

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler

I’m truly heartbroken over the heinous shooting in Texas today. Events like these are a reminder that cold, cruel reality can show up at anytime. It reminds us to hold our loved ones close and to always pray for our neighbors and our community.

Now more than ever, it’s time for America to have an honest discussion on the causes of these horrific events.
As these events too frequently dominate the headlines, I urge my colleagues to address the core problems that lead to these senseless acts of violence – addressing the pervasive mental health issues in our country, having an open dialogue about motivators of hatred and violence against other fellow Americans, and stopping criminals from illegally obtaining guns. Above all, we need to re-embrace values of life, respect, and the intrinsic worth of every human being.

Like clockwork.

Some of the responses:

Thought , prayers, mental illness.

How about we have background checks on private sales ? I also think we need a Red Flag law in every state 72 hour hold on your weapons if you are talking self harm or hurting others.

I have known a lot of people with mental health issues. I’m not afraid of them. I’m afraid of people who own guns and feel empowered to use them. Don’t hide, Rep. Hartzler, behind a party line. Be an independent thinker and work to protect Americans from gun violence.

You did nothing to address this issue the whole time you were on your break. You are always heartbroken but never willing to take any action. You talk about mental health but represent a state that is one of the worst for people getting access to healthcare. When will you be willing to do something besides post about it?

I think we need to do more than pray.

Y’all cut funding at CDC for mental health, so once again your concern about how mental health is playing a roll in all the mass shootings is nothing more than a party talking point! I want a BAN ON ALL ASSAULT WEAPONS! I WANT UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS! Pretty simple steps that YOU refuse to initiate or endorse!

Crocodile tears.

Respect for life is all but gone from pur society. Kids watch violence and play violet games from the time they are toddlers. Then we expect them to grow up compassionate humans. We need to address what gets put into the minds of people, the lack of parenting, drugs, bullying, and so much more. Mental illness is a part of the equation and getting the fear out of being open is a huge obstacle.

Uh, people in other countries consume video games at a higher rate than Americans, and yet their gun violence rates are significantly lower. You think it’s the water, maybe?

That last statement is truly laughable given your record.

How would you know the underlying factors? The CDC can’t effectively study the problem because of people like you. Those with mental health challenges have been shown through research to NOT be any more likely to conduct mass murder. The NRA owns you.

You have an opportunity to enact common sense solutions to this challenge based on evidence.

You choose to do nothing.

Blah, blah, blah…. Your party FAILED to do ANYTHING after 20 BABIES were slaughtered in Connecticut. Not just shot, their bodies were blown to bits.. Live with that… THEY voted DOWN legislation that the people of this country wanted passed..

So, are you now for background checks? I can’t tell by the way you characterized the problem.
–
From the evidence available, it’s perceived racial superiority that motivates most of the mass shooters.

Vickie. These shooters do not have mental health diagnoses

Children are in cages – “re-embrace values…worth of every human being.” Umm

How about you start with an honest actual townhall, and then start to enact some GUN CONTROL? Oh wait, the NRA controls you.

How about telling McConnell to bring the house bills to the floor for a vote? Your party refusing to do anything is a BIG part of the problem.

Let the CDC and others actually study the situation and PROVE the connection to mental health … oh – right – they have – there isn’t one.

Hint: IT’S GUNS, VICKY

You’re a joke. You have no spine. How about a #townhall to talk about gun violence and real solutions, like background checks on every sale?

You don’t appear to care about life or you would stop cutting food stamps, encourage MO leaders to expand Medicaid, and impeach Trump before he starts WW3.

Did the NRA write this for you?

Well, someone asked.

Why is it sometimes this way out outstate street fairs/festivals?

In the Kansas City Star:

Spotted at a Missouri fair: Uncle Sam manning a ‘shooting gallery’ of GOP opponents
August 24, 2018 02:06 PM
By Matt Campbell

A GOP “shooting gallery” manned by an Uncle Sam at the Holden, Mo., Street Fair has some people concerned….

[….]

Not to put too fine a point on it, yesterday an individual dressed up as Uncle Sam set up shop with a representation of shooting gallery, complete with a toy gun, made up of photos of Democrats – this next to a republican college student group booth at the Holden, Missouri fair. Of course, either intentionally or randomly, who knows, the fair organizers had placed the Johnson County Democrats booth directly across from the republican booth.

People took pictures and then posted them on social media.

Raymond James
Small town Missouri racism. Booth selling KKK/ Confederate flags with no US flags for sale or present. The US flag in the picture is the booth next door. You do not get to pick your neighbors.
GOP had a “game ” toy gun and a Shooting Gallery with Senators pictures on it. Great Family Fun shooting at Senators.

Raymond James is a Johnson County Democrat who was manning the Democratic party both at the fair.

The flag vendor booth was another booth which was in close proximity to the other booths.

A photo of the republican booth and shooting gallery posted in the Facebook post comments:

In case you’re not convinced, the shooting gallery is labeled “shooting gallery”.

We’ve seen this individual at public events before.

With a Hillary Clinton (D) effigy in a tiny jail cell outside the Missouri State Fair Governor’s Ham Breakfast in 2016:

Outside the Missouri State Fair Governor’s Ham Breakfast [August 2016 file photo].

And at the same venue a little over a week ago:

Outside the Missouri State Fair Governor’s Ham Breakfast [August 2018 file photo].

In addition to the newspaper coverage we’ve heard that a Kansas City metro market television station sent a crew to the fair today.

In an interesting turn of events, demonstrating brilliant public relations and damage control strategies, the street fair authorities have apparently issued an edict of “a plague on both your houses” and booted the Democrats and republicans from the fair.

Don’t you just love small town Missouri?

Update:

Johnson County Missouri Democrats

This post is from Ray James Chair Johnson County Central Committee.

As previously posted, the Holden Chamber of Commerce asked the Democratic Booth to leave at the same time as the Republican Booth from the Holden Fair Tonight. We did not ask or discuss reasons why. We packed up when told to do so and left. We were told we may still participate in the parade 5 pm Saturday.

At this time we are considering it. I will post by 2 pm Saturday if we will participate.

For those scheduled to staff the booth I thank you for your time.

Any questions or concerns about the actions of the Holden Chamber of Commerce Fair Committee and what / how they reached a decision should be directed to them. Remember they put in long hours to put on a fair in a very thankless job.

There was no yelling, name calling, heckling, interference by Democrats staffing the booth with any other booths at the fair.

We did not complain to the Fair organizers, Holden Police or the staff at the Republican booth about any actions by any booths at the fair.

We did notify the Johnson County Republican Central Committee, Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler staff, Secretary of State [Attorney General] Josh Hawleys campaign staff of the unacceptable actions of the Republicans at the booth with their having a Shooting Gallery “Game” complete with Targets of US Senator Claire McCaskill and a toy gun.

Tonight the game was renamed as the words Shooting Gallery were replaced and the toy guns were not present. I did not see if the pictures had been changed. The Gentleman who brought the “game” was again in attendance. Interestingly he brought an American Flag and insisted he had one present on the 23 Aug. I refer you to the pictures posted from the 23 Aug. The Gentleman clearly has memory issues or was untruthful on this issue.

I was contacted by several media organizations and did give two interviews between 3:30 and 4:00 pm to Channel 5 and Channel 41. In which, I stressed the unacceptable actions of the Johnson County Central Committee Sponsored Booth.

It is never OK to Joke about shooting a person or to encourage others to actually commit violence. As to the intent of the “game ” I would direct all questions to the Johnson County Central Committee as it was their booth.

Any further questions by Johnson County Democratic Club members or Central Committee members please contact Ray James.

The CC does not intend to issue a press release or to contact media concerning this matter but we do anticipate further media interest. I have referred all questions, as to why we had to suspend operations, from media organizations back to the organizers of the Fair as we did not discuss/ask.

Rep. Vicky Hartzler @RepHartzler
Glad to see the President clarify that he accepts the American intelligence community’s assessment that Russia meddled in the election [….]
1:50 PM – 17 Jul 2018

Most commenters aren’t buying it:

You must be getting tired. Carrying all that water has to be exhausting.

Okay, that was funny.

Right, but replacing the “would” with “wouldn’t” acrually doesn’t change what he said OR make any actual sense. You are an intelligent woman, Congresswoman, if you are really playing along with this new excuse, you are willfully trying to decieve decent, hard working Missourians.

You’re as awful as he is.

You have got to be kidding me..right?! Let me guess the staffer running your feed is the one who lays hands on to rid the spirits….eyeroll. Maybe you should apply at the NRA I hear they have an opening today Mueller just caught another one…

Thanks! Literally the best LOL of the day. I’ve seen chocolate covered 4 year olds give more convincing denials than that.

You are worthless and a homer. I can’t believe you bought this or did you listen to something I didn’t

I’m honestly disappointed you are now my representative. If this is the kind of behavior you will acquiesce and make ridiculous excuses knowing full well he didn’t stand up to Putin behind closed doors I will be happy to vote against you.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you weren’t my rep.? What an insult to your constituents’ intelligence. #trumppuppet

If you actually believe him I am even more disappointed in you as my congressional representative than I was. You have sold all your dignity and integrity. It is so sad to watch you kowtow to this administration.

You’ve got to be kidding me. You’re being ridiculous.

Not really a clarification when he contradicts it in the very next sentence, is it?

When specifically asked to denounce Putin’s actions and warn him not to do it again, he punted.

He did not clarify! He said it could be others which indicates he does not trust his intel from American intelligence.

Accepting that “clarification” is a dereliction of duty by you.

Disappointed that you are still blindly following party politics. Have you been listening to Mueller? Trump spoke the truth in front of Putin. He lied today. If you can’t stand up &speak out against him &his shady dealings (business &personal) then you should resign

Trump did not take back his statement that he believed Putin’s denial of meddling.

No he didn’t!! The intelligence agencies reported that it was Russia. IT WAS RUSSIA ONLY!! Trump said today it could have others. Trumps afraid to say it was Russia only because he is compromised. So delete your tweet because it is a lie. GOP TRAITORS!!

Bullshit, Trump can’t make up his mind on his story! Plus 2 hours of private time with Putin, is not except able! You work for the COUNTRY, not the PRESIDENT and you should NOT stand for this! I will be glad when you are voted out.

So convenient you have a soundbyte to counter the reality that it wasn’t just one statement misspoken but a continued pattern of refusing to state publicly that it was Russia. Surely you listened to the entire press conference and know this though

He accepted it before he didn’t, and then in the same breath he did it again. and you’re okay with that. Precisely what I’d expect from a #HelsinkiRepublican.

You’re a joke, Vicky.

You really are dumber than a post!

Well that settles it then.

That could be sarcasm.

The full statement, via Facebook:

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler
I’m glad to see the President clarify that he accepts the American intelligence community’s assessment that Russia meddled in the election. There is overwhelming consensus that Russian individuals hacked into DNC headquarters and stole emails which were shared publicly. They also amplified political divisions within America by spreading discord and misinformation on both campaigns through social media. While the investigation is still ongoing, at this time there is no evidence these actions changed the outcome of the election nor evidence of collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign. However, these known actions of hacking and social media meddling cannot be tolerated. We experienced Russian meddling here at home in Missouri when a Russian Twitter bot spread disinformation during the Mizzou protests. We know very well that the Russian threat is real and the President must lead on this issue.

Some of the responses:

Have you ever seen a flock of Starlings all flying in the same direction and then for no apparent reason, the birds all suddenly wheel in unison and fly in a different direction — only to all wheel again a few seconds later and, as one, head in yet another direction, and so on, and so on?

Now, just for the fun of it, replace “starlings” with “Republican politicians”……

Traitor!

And if you believe that, Vicky, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

That tells me all I need to know. You clearly can’t think for yourself. You sit around and wait and then join in. We deserve better

He misspoke in front of the cameras. We can only imagine about what he misspoke on behind closed doors.

Take out the Mizzou reference and this is basically a canned response going throughout congressional pages

Any time that Trump agrees with our intelligence agencies that Russia interfered in our elections, it is because he is forced to say it by public and even GOP backlash. I am sure in a few days he will be right back at saying. “it might have been Russia, it might not have been Russia. ” while hr travels the world, or makes his 5 am tweets, or phone calls to foreign leaders, he continues to insult the leaders of our most precious allies, while he is full of compliments and praises to the leaders of dictatorships. He seems to despise free democratic countries while wishing he could also be a tyrant like Kim Jong Un or Duarte or , even Putin. I don’t think he will change. no matter how much we may wish that he would act more pro-America and more favorably to our allies. It is clear he does not have the best interests of America at heart. He does not hold dear the values that made America great. We are losing credibility all over the world. The fact that you, and others in the GOP continue to support him is tantamount to treason. Please put America before Party.

You are a sell out. I have no interest in being able to travel to Russia without a passport. I’ve voted for you in the past, but never again. And please, don’t return to teaching. I’d hate to think of you teaching your ignorance and prejudice to our children.

You believe him as he read his prepared remarks. I call BS! Hateful nasty Liar Man!

What he should’ve said was, “I’m scared to death of Vladimir Putin, and you should be too.”

This President showed his true colors yesterday. He was disgraceful! “Misspoke” is just one more lie! You follow him in lockstep and join in the disgrace. It’s time the Republicans in Congress get a backbone, take some initiative and govern for what is right for all Americans.

Trump’s clarification is a lie. You are being complicit.

Really? You’re going to believe that BS! You’re acceptance of these lies are part of the problem. He needs to be held accountable!

Dear representative : Yesterday Donald Trump committed TREASON by standing with Putin over our own intelligence services. He is giving aid and comfort to a foreign government who attacked us via the web. US Constitution, Article III, Section 3 says, “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in ADHERING TO THEIR ENEMIES, GIVING THEM AID AND COMFORT. (Capitals mine, for emphasis.) You swore to uphold and defend the Constitution. Only through the impeachment process can you fulfill your duty after today! PLEASE, House, IMPEACH, and, Senate, REMOVE TRUMP!

Oh please……. he doesn’t have a backbone to stand up to Putin face to face. Your backing of Donald shows your lack of a backbone also since you will not hold him accountable. You really need to be voted out of office.

At first you didn’t criticize Trump when he said spontaneously that he believed Putin, not American intelligence, on the question of election interference. You evaded the issue altogether, saying that you couldn’t know what was said behind closed doors in their private meeting. In other words, you are scared to criticize Trump. Now that everyone and his dog – even Fox & Friends! – are critical of Trump you find the incredible courage to say you’re glad that he accepts the US intelligence consensus but then you go on to misstate it! The recent election hacking indictments were against Russian intelligence officials, i.e. agents of the Russian government (not just Russian individuals). Then you refuse to describe what they did accurately. Just as when there are mass shootings you won’t use the word gun in any of your posts, with this issue I note you will not use the phrase “election interference.” But that is what we are talking about – the Russian government interfering in US elections. Why are you so afraid of that phrase? Because it’s true? Because it may be that while there is no evidence that any voting machinery was tampered with in a way that changed a tally, there is still a question as to how Russian government hacking and social media campaigns influenced American voter behavior, particularly because the social media campaigns were carefully targeted. You are not forthright and you’re still trying to protect Trump and your own political career rather than telling people what is going on. It’s behavior like yours and like Trump’s that leads to a loss of faith in elected officials, assuming there is any left. For a change consider the big picture, without reference to your personal ambition.

Yea, you will comment now…sycophant

omg… apparently you really don’t know anything about Russians meddling online. I believe it goes something along the lines of perpetuating fake propaganda through social media…? Kinda similar to posts by Republican law makers…

Guess that means we shouldn’t expect any Congressional leadership on these issues.

Are you kidding me? Trump is lying through his teeth with this “clarification.”. Someone forced him to change his story. He said exactly what he meant at the press conference. While I was watching him yesterday, it reminded me of Nixon going before us on TV declaring “I’m not a crook.” We are in deep trouble here folks and Rep Hartzler chooses to believe a liar over what is glaringly staring us in the face.

Maybe tomorrow he changes his mind again? WTF ?????

Oh, all of this is going to get very interesting. To say the least.

“So far, so good…”

Eric Greitens (r), on Facebook:

Eric Greitens
[….]
Today, the prosecutor dropped the false charges against me.
This was a great victory and a long time coming. I’ve said from the beginning that I am innocent.
This experience has also been humbling, and I’ve emerged from it a changed man.
I believe that in all of our lives, we have to deal with pain, and that if we deal with it in the right way, we can learn wisdom.
We all have to deal with suffering, but if we deal with it in the right way, we can emerge with strength.
I also believe, as many people of faith do, that even in the hardest situations, we can find blessings.
Above all, I am sorry for the pain that this process and my actions have caused my family, my friends, and the people of Missouri.
I am extraordinarily grateful for the tremendous patience and courage of friends, family, and people of faith, who have all recognized that in time comes the truth.
We have a great mission before us. And at this time, I’d ask people of goodwill to come together so that we may continue to do good together.

Some of the responses:

Governor Greitens you lied from the beginning of your campaign, so much dark money, hypocrisy and abuse. You cannot govern Missouri.

I thank God the judge dismissed the case. I can’t imagine the stress and heartache your family has been through. We are all sinners, and thankfully we have a forgiving heavenly father. Bless you and your family.

Uh, the prosecutor dismissed the case, will seek a special prosecutor, and has stated that the case will be refiled.

I’m glad this is over with for you and your family. Keep up the good work for the state of Missouri.

Uh, it’s not over.

Bull.

The mistresses ex should be prosecuted..he did all of this!!

Think about that for just a second.

This changes nothing about the behavior exhibited by the governor and his lack of ethics, lack of transparency, dark money, etc, etc, etc. His hubris will be his undoing.

What about your other cases? This one is being refiled. Tell the whole story, Snowflake!!!!!

You left the part out about how they plan to re-file with a special prosecutor.

Now thank Hawley for throwing you under the bus

“So far, so good…”

He’s such a victim, so much pain.

You spelled “gave it to the special prosecutor” wrong

Talking about your faith and your blessings. You really are unbelievable.

The real tragedy is that there are people like you not only in our world, but in our government.

Dude it is not over. Liar!

Wow this very nightmare has ended? Glad

Uh…

Really? So you’re completely innocent?

Trump my president, Greitens my governor. Proud deplorable.

You gutted our education budget. You’re still a terrible person and a poor excuse for a governor.

Did you take a picture of it

Now that we got that taken care of , let’s get this nonsense crap charges and B.S and rumors to bed that the so called free press is yackin about and throw the whole lot in jail along with some Democrats pretending to be Republicans and the Communist pretending to be Socialist. And we might need to remind people that the leader of the Democratic party is hardcore Nazi that help kill thousands by turning in Jews. Makes me sick !!!

That’s a lot to unwrap.

You phony SOB. Let’s see how the ‘donor list’ goes. Hypocrisy and Republican family values march goes on.

You’re guilty as hell. Phony baloney

Impeach this man!

It’s not over yet.

Today Missouri Governor Eric Greitens (r) was indicted for a felony.

Eric Greitens (r) [2016 file photo].

From Eric Greitens (r), via social media:

Eric Greitens
As I have said before, I made a personal mistake before I was Governor. I did not commit a crime.
With today’s disappointing and misguided political decision, my confidence in our prosecutorial system is shaken, but not broken. I know this will be righted soon.
The people of Missouri deserve better than a reckless liberal prosecutor who uses her office to score political points.
I look forward to the legal remedies to reverse this action.
This will not for a moment deter me from doing the important work of the great people of Missouri.

Some of the responses:

I’m putting your mugshot on my Winter Solstice cards. Thoughts and prayers.

Then please step down and stop embarrassing Missouri.

You may want to pre-record some footage of you firing guns for your next campaign ad. If you’re convicted of a felony you won’t be allowed to own a firearm. #thoughts&prayers

Bashing our state’s legal system does not look good on you. Stand up like a man.

Take responsibility for your actions.

I will add that at the very least it is nice to see the dimocraps have so little to run on that they are recycling McCarthyism.

Uh, does someone want to tell him that Joseph McCarthy was a republican?

Please, just leave office. You are not fit to represent Christians who actually follow Biblical law.

Uh.

We all know he’s not stepping down even though he should.. the Big Money is too invested in grooming him

The people of Missouri deserve better than a lying hypocrite who is sending the state a on the same path as Kansas.

Bunch of hypocritical bastards. Like all of you big mouthed punks haven’t made bad decisions in your lives. Quick to jump on other people about their mistakes. You people are what’s wrong with society. Can’t mind your own damn business.

This is ironic on so many levels.

You’re a fraud

You should have kept your damn pants on, liar.

The Russian trolls are out in force tonight. God bless you governor…DRAIN THE SWAMP!

That, I believe, is the example which is used in the dictionary definition of cognitive dissonance.

This could only happen in St Louis, biggest Democrat shithole in the state. Stay strong Governor, we support you.

That was so…presidential.

“I am not a crook”.

Ok really that is your statement? Wow! Sounding more like Trump every day!

Covfefe

Blaming Democrats instead of taking responsibility for your own actions. Nice.

damn, how you get out the pokey already? You know somebody?

Yada yada yada

The doings of the DNC, Barack Obama and the Clinton’s.

Damn, someone figured it all out.

Did Trump’s people write this? Or is it that this is just becoming so common? Feel like I’ve heard this before. Yeah, all of the sudden the system is broken when you’re in the crosshairs. Liberal this, liberal that. You’re supposed to be a leader, all you do is blame media and people in power you disagree with. So many have resigned over less, but I bet the donors want their money’s worth. You’ll never be President so give it up.

Wait, see above.

You’re seriously trying to paint yourself as the victim?

You’re right about one thing, we do deserve better.

Have you even a molecule of humility?

You’re the victim. Got it. Thanks for the clarification.

You must have stepped on a lot of toes. Keep up the good fight.

By all accounts toes weren’t involved. You know something the rest of us don’t?

Still being divisive I see. You suck.

What a joke

All I can say is “wow”.

“Wow” works.
