This afternoon:

Claire McCaskill @clairecmc
Trump never would have gone to Ukraine because

A)Putin would not approve.
B) He never understood the importance of standing up for democracies.
C)He would not support unified effort of NATO to check the war crimes of Russia.

D)HE WOULD BE TOO AFRAID.

answer? Hint: ALL of it
1:57 PM · Feb 20, 2023

Bad combover. Check. Too long red tie. Check. Orange spray tan. Check. Tiny hands. Check. Cluelessness. Check…

Some of the responses:

The only way trump goes to Kyiv is if he’s there standing next to Putin

Heh. Make America Great Again, in Russian.

Trump would have asked for a favor first, and then Kushner would have chipped in asking what $$$’s were in it for him.

E) Not enough Depends in the world.

No Trump hotel or golf resort there

Grifter has to grift.

It’s cold over there. Bad for the hair. Also, he said people that fight for their countries are losers.

I believe Trump always asks the question, what’s in it for me. If there was an angle that would have enriched him, he would have done it. But that’s the only reason.

E)..He is a soulless grifter and he couldn’t figure out how to make money from a visit.

Eric Schmitt (r) [2022 file photo}.

This morning, on word (obviously) that President Joe Biden (D) traveled to Ukraine:

Eric Schmitt @Eric_Schmitt
If you want to understand why so many Americans are frustrated right now:

Biden is in Ukraine before Ohio.
8:46 AM · Feb 20, 2023

Herbert. Herbert. Herbert.

What a dick.

Some of the responses:

Americans are frustrated because people like you keep lying and misleading them.

Joe Biden is President of the United States, not Governor of Ohio.

Speaking of which, let’s check with the Governor of Ohio, shall we?
[….]

The reason why a majority of Americans are so frustrated that we have to listen to manipulative and inaccurate drivel like this from people like you.

I’m a constituent of yours out here in rural MO farm country (you should visit us out here some time, btw), & I’m thrilled the President traveled to Ukraine. It’s one of the most important presidential visits in the past 20 years.

I’m not frustrated at our President. Our President is doing today what America used to believe in; fighting for freedom and democracy around the world. You have seventeen gov’t agencies on the ground in East Palestine right now, what else is there to do?

Interestingly, Eric Schmitt (r) isn’t there.

GFY!

The trip to Poland was planned a long time ago. President Biden took the opportunity to visit Ukraine.

What are you doing about Ohio, Eric, besides tweeting snarky comments about the President?
Why don’t you get your Republican colleagues on board to tighten railroad safety regulations that were relaxed under Trump?

It’s in his nature.

You sully your comms team by making them shovel this waste. This work will be a permanent stain on their resumes.

Actually it’s gaslighting like this that frustrates me

If you want to understand why A FEW Americans are frustrated right now it’s b/c they have been indoctrinated to hate democracy, root for it to fail, & clearly don’t get that if our (and others) democracy fails, they will rapidly lose all the FREEDOMS they so cherish.

You’re literally making a living out of advocating for deregulation and shitting on the EPA. How about sitting this one out?

I LOVE all your tweets. Zero substance. Keep them coming.

Clowns have to be clowns.

You’re pathetic!

If you want to understand why so many Americans are frustrated right now:

You’re a U.S. Senator.

Straight up Vladimir Putin talking points.
[….]

I’ll bet EPA, FEMA, and Transportation are all there doing their jobs. Quit gaslighting people and do YOUR job.

You’re an embarrassment to Missouri.

Idiot.

Nope. But look at the crap you and Josh pulled while advancing your political career at the expense of the Missouri people. That’s frustrating.

You lie so easily.

Color me frustrated that an idiotic portion of our country wants to complete ignore US History and the Cold War to justify allowing Putin to invade an independent country. But, you’re an idiot, so there’s that.

You can’t be that stupid, can you?

He is.

No time to visit East Palestine, Ohio but plenty of time for this
[….]
10:09 AM · Feb 20, 2023

What an ass.

Some of the responses:

Do you see how efficiently MAGA uses the US supporting its allies in Europe and standing up to Putin as a wedge to campaign against Biden? Do you see how closely aligned trump and Putin’s interests are? And how they have been since putin illegally helped trump take power in 2016?

Will Trump be holding JD’s hand in East Palestine or vice versa?

Your party deregulated the rail industry, and declined the use of hazardous materials cars even after you saw the disaster in Canada where an entire town was burned to the ground. Dewine got federal assistance after delaying asking for it. All you do is lie.

They consider that a feature, not a bug.

ok insurrectionist

See you got the Republican memo.

When did you last live in Missouri?

Valdimir Putin approves of this tweet.

You are not a serious person.

So when will you be visiting East Palestine, Ohio, Josh? They’re waiting for you.

It’s a relatively short hop from Virginia.

Why aren’t you in Ohio Josh? Full of great photo opportunities.

He was.

Josh Hawley: No time to work, but plenty of time to tweet and do Fox News hits.

Joe Biden, president, Ukraine, White House

“I Stand With Ukraine” [2022 file photo].

From the White House:

FEBRUARY 20, 2023
Statement from President Joe Biden on Travel to Kyiv, Ukraine

As the world prepares to mark the one-year anniversary of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, I am in Kyiv today to meet with President Zelenskyy and reaffirm our unwavering and unflagging commitment to Ukraine’s democracy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

When Putin launched his invasion nearly one year ago, he thought Ukraine was weak and the West was divided. He thought he could outlast us. But he was dead wrong.

Today, in Kyiv, I am meeting with President Zelenskyy and his team for an extended discussion on our support for Ukraine. I will announce another delivery of critical equipment, including artillery ammunition, anti-armor systems, and air surveillance radars to help protect the Ukrainian people from aerial bombardments. And I will share that later this week, we will announce additional sanctions against elites and companies that are trying to evade or backfill Russia’s war machine. Over the last year, the United States has built a coalition of nations from the Atlantic to the Pacific to help defend Ukraine with unprecedented military, economic, and humanitarian support – and that support will endure.

I also look forward to traveling on to Poland to meet President Duda and the leaders of our Eastern Flank Allies, as well as deliver remarks on how the United States will continue to rally the world to support the people of Ukraine and the core values of human rights and dignity in the UN Charter that unite us worldwide.

What about some regular folks? Just asking.

The responses:

Hey Eric, is there anyway we can talk? I sent you a message and I think it would benefit Missourians very well.

Okay.

Do you support @RepThomasMassie bill to abolish the department of education?

Okay.

Maybe. Just maybe, you would investigate requirements being made by youth club coaches that their athletes be mRNA shot in order to participate. Just maybe.

Okay.

Currently, Ukraine serves as a shield for NATO and holds the frontlines.

By including Ukraine in NATO, the US could help to promote military interoperability and strengthen defense cooperation between NATO members and Ukraine.

Слава Україні!

An open public town hall in the district would definitely be epic. Heh.

Fascist pig, gaslighting, Josh Hawley, MATURE Act, right wingnut, S.419, U.S. Senate, Virginia

You guessed it.

Josh Hawley (r) [2016 file photo].

Josh Hawley (r) introduced a bill, not naming a post office:

S.419 – A bill to require social media platforms to verify that all individuals who create an account on the platform are age 16 or older, and for other purposes.

Sponsor: Sen. Hawley, Josh [R-MO] (Introduced 02/14/2023)
Committees: Senate – Commerce, Science, and Transportation
Latest Action: Senate – 02/14/2023 Read twice and referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
[….]

From S.419 – MATURE Act – introduced by Josh Hawley (r)

Josh Hawley told us all about it on social media:

There is only one true clause to the one true Amendment, everything else is just noise. (February 14, 2023)

There is something very interesting in the bill text:

From S.419 – MATURE Act – introduced by Josh Hawley (r)

[….]
(2) AGE VERIFICATION PROCESS REQUIRE10 MENTS.—The requirements specified in this paragraph are, with respect to an age verification process and a social media platform, that the platform require any individual who attempts to create an account on the platform to provide the platform with—
(A) the individual’s full legal name;
(B) the individual’s date of birth; and
(C) a scan, image, or upload of government-issued identification of the individual that verifies the information required under subparagraphs (A) and (B).
[….]

Dude, you can’t constantly whine on social media about social media corporations’ failings and then introduce a bill which would require their users to give those same corporations their legal name, date of birth, and a copy of a government ID.

Josh Hawley (r) is a maroon. And an ignoranimus.

Great interview all around. Happy to hear someone actually interested in America first policies and programs. I look forward to following your leadership.

Probably not sarcasm. Heh.

Good job glad you are out front and fighting unlike some reps we have.

Ooh. Do tell.

It speaks volumes that a “news” channel that has been outright exposed in court for lying to the American people gets you all excited to appear on.

Hobby Club’s Missing Balloon Feared Shot Down By USAF
Steve Trimble February 16, 2023

A small, globe-trotting balloon declared “missing in action” by an Illinois-based hobbyist club on Feb. 15 has emerged as a candidate to explain one of the three mystery objects shot down by four heat-seeking missiles launched by U.S. Air Force fighters since Feb. 10.
[….]
“I’m guessing probably they were pico balloons,” said Tom Medlin, a retired FedEx engineer and co-host of the Amateur Radio Roundtable show. Medlin has three pico balloons in flight in the Northern and Southern hemispheres.
[….]
Launching high-altitude, circumnavigational pico balloons has emerged only within the past decade. [….]it was possible to calculate the amount of helium gas necessary to make a common latex balloon neutrally buoyant at altitudes above 43,000 ft. The balloons carry an 11-gram tracker on a tether, along with HF and VHF/UHF antennas to update their positions to ham radio receivers around the world. At any given moment, several dozen such balloons are aloft, with some circling the globe several times before they malfunction or fail for other reasons. The launch teams seldom recover their balloons.
[….]
In fact, the pico balloons weigh less than 6 lb. and therefore are exempt from most FAA airspace restrictions…
