On Monday evening, Jan 4, on national tv (Fox) Hawley response to question as to whether he was “saying as of Jan 20 Trump would be President”?
His reply… “Well, Bret, that depends on what happens on Wednesday.”

This morning:

Claire McCaskill @clairecmc
We have a Governor who was too afraid to do anything but follow the Trump playbook on Covid, including getting the virus. It has caused death and economic destruction in my state. We are at a new hospitalization record today in Missouri. Shameful. Vote.

Bob Woodward [2013 file photo].

Bob Woodward wrote a book. Apparently based on a lot of interviews with Donald Trump (r). There are audio recordings.

Claire McCaskill @clairecmc
It is hard for me to justify having the tape of Trump admitting the deadly danger of this virus while he was telling Americans it would just disappear…and sitting on it until a book release. That’s some bad stuff. Ugly.
12:09 PM · Sep 9, 2020

Some of the responses:

How many people would have acted more cautiously had Trump been honest? How many lives saved? My heart goes out to all the families who lost friends and family members. We’ll never know if they could have been saved.

Everyday something else that no one can keep up. 190,000+ dead, children still separated from parents and in cages, millions without jobs, soldiers having bounties on heads. I can’t take it. Now this and it’ll be news for a couple of days.

Many people warned trump about the virus. He was briefed in Nov 2019 about it. He ignored, he demoted people, he called them fanatics. Now is the time for the tape to come out. We knew trump failed. Now we have proof. I knew trump knew and that he did nothing.

Claire McCaskill: ‘…I would, you know, think about this for a minute. Let’s dwell on this just for a second. He’s [Donald Trump] obviously never read a [Bob] Woodward book. He doesn’t understand what Woodward books are. [Nicolle Wallace: laughter] And so this is, that’s, that’s strike one. Strike two is he sits for eighteen interviews. Okay, who in their right mind, who’s running for office in a year, within the year, sits for eighteen interviews with a journalist? This is not a smart thing to do [Voice: “With anyone.”] This is beyond folly. This is ultimate stupidity. He is so stupid. And he knows, he does, he did the last interview like a month ago. He did the last interview a month ago. So when is the book coming out? The book is coming out within two months of his election. With tapes. Eighteen hours of tapes. Hours and hours of tapes. So, this president is the stupidest president that has ever held the office. Forget about for a minute, for all of his followers, forget about the integrity issue, forget about the character issue. This guy’s too dumb to lead this country ’cause this was really, really stupid…’

Some of the responses:

She’s from Missouri!

Yes, she certainly is.

Auntie Claire don’t play da radio

It is what it is.

We see what you did there.

This just out. Trump has agreed to allow access to Melania Trump for a third book in this trilogy with Bob Woodward, tentatively titled “I’m With Stupid”.
#DumpTrump and save our country from this imbecile.

For Missourians…let it sink in that conservative members on the U S Supreme Court today did what Republicans in Jefferson City refused to do. They have continually embraced that it was ok in our state to fire someone just because they were gay. No more. Thank goodness.

Someone doesn’t like CLEAN Missouri restrictions on lobbying expenditures:

Robert Cornejo @CornejoForMO
This great idea is banned here in Missouri #moleg thanks to the unconstitutional sham of Clean Missouri! People of all political stripes should get together over a drink and work towards common ground. Prost!

Harpoon Brewery @harpoonbrewery
Govt shutdowns impact all of us. As a brewery, we can’t get approvals needed to keep new beers headed your way. We’re asking our reps to share a beer (on us) with a colleague and help America’s brewers get back to doing what we do. So all of you…

12:36 PM – 12 Jan 2019

You want a brewer to buy you a beer?

Uh, at least use the correct spin. The beer purveyor’s post was about the #TrumpShutdown. You know, a federal issue. Own it, dude.

And, Claire McCaskill (D) lands a punch:

Claire McCaskill @clairecmc
Whooaaaa. There is nothing in CLEAN Missouri that stops YOU or any other legislator from buying a beer for your colleagues, no matter what their party. Says a lot that you think LOBBYISTS buying you booze is necessary for the work towards common ground.
