Bill Goodman, Denise Heberle, dissent, National Lawyers Guild, protest, shut the fuck up, video

Oh, hello.

We’re just talking about you kids

I’m Denise Heberle. And I’m Bill Goodman.

Together we’ve been fighting Fascism for over fifty years. And so much has changed over those fifty years, such as the ingredients to a successful fire bomb. And the glass that bank windows are made of.

But there’s one thing that hasn’t changed over fifty years, something that is so important to tell you kids who are new to this movement.

Shut the fuck up.

You’re sitting in the sitting in police transport van after a protest?

Shut the fuck up.

In a holding cell with your comrades?

Shut the fuck up.

Cop knocks on your door?

Shut the fuck up.

Texting on an unsecured device?

Shut the fuck up.

Pulled over by the cops after a protest?

Shut the fuck up.

Cop just asking about your day?

Shut the fuck up.

Feds call your mom? Tell your mother to shut the fuck up.

Now, repeat after me, when the cops come calling, what do you do?

Shut the fuck up.

Shut the fuck up.

Capitol “Pardon Me” Tour – January 5, 2021

Barry Loudermilk, capitol, dumbasses, Georgia, Insurrection, insurrectionist, right wingnuts, Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol, video, Washington

From the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol, including video of individuals given a tour of the capitol complex by Rep. Barry Loudermilk (r) who had previously denied giving any tour:

A letter to Barry Loudermilk (r) from the chair of the committee:

[….]
June 15, 2022

Representative Barry Loudermilk
United States House of Representatives
2133 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Representative Loudermilk:

On May 19, 2022, the Select Committee invited you to meet with us about evidence of a tour you provided on January 5, 2021. Based on our review of surveillance video, social media activity, and witness accounts, we understand you led a tour group through parts of the Capitol complex on January 5, 2021. That group stayed for several hours, despite the complex being closed to the public on that day.

Surveillance footage shows a tour of approximately ten individuals led by you to areas in the Rayburn, Longworth, and Cannon House Office Buildings, as well as the entrances to tunnels leading to the U.S. Capitol. The below image shows you leading individuals on the tour:

[….]

Individuals on the tour photographed and recorded areas of the complex not typically of interest to tourists, including hallways, staircases, and security checkpoints. [….] For example, the below image shows an individual appearing to photograph a staircase in the basement of the Longworth House Office Building while you speak with others nearby:

[….]

The below image shows members of the tour you led also taking photographs of the tunnel leading from the Rayburn House Office Building to the Capitol:

[….]

The behavior of these individuals during the January 5, 2021 tour raises concerns about their activity and intent while inside the Capitol complex.

The Select Committee has learned that some individuals you sponsored into the complexattended the rally at the Ellipse on the morning of January 6, 2021. According to video recordings from that day obtained by the Select Committee, the individual who appeared to photograph a staircase in the Longworth House Office Building filmed a companion with a flagpole appearing to have a sharpened end who spoke to the camera saying, “It’s for a certain person,” while making an aggressive jabbing motion. Later, these individuals joined the unpermitted march from the Ellipse to the U.S. Capitol. While standing near the Capitol grounds, the same individual made a video that contained detailed and disturbing threats against specific Members of Congress. For example, as the individual filmed the march to the Capitol, he said, “There’s no escape Pelosi, Schumer, Nadler. We’re coming for you.” As he looked up at the Capitol, he went on:

[“]They got it surrounded. It’s all the way up there on the hill, and it’s all the way around, and they’re coming in, coming in like white on rice for Pelosi, Nadler, even you, AOC. We’re coming to take you out and pull you out by your hairs. … When I get done with you, you’re going to need a shine on top of that bald head.[“] [….]

While we had hoped to show you the video evidence when you met with us, and since you have thus far declined, the Select Committee provides the video in question for your review [….].

The foregoing information raises questions the Select Committee must answer. Public reporting and witness accounts indicate some individuals and groups engaged in efforts to gather information about the layout of the U.S. Capitol, as well as the House and Senate office buildings, in advance of January 6, 2021. For example, in the week following January 6, 2021, Members urged law enforcement leaders to investigate sightings of “outside groups in the complex” on January 5, 2021 that “appeared to be associated with the rally at the White House the following day.” [….] The Select Committee’s review of urveillance footage showing the above-described tour is consistent with those observations. [….]

We again ask you to meet with the Select Committee at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,
s/
Bennie G. Thompson
Chairman

“…coming in like white on rice…” They don’t even attempt to hide it anymore.

There’s always video. They weren’t tourists.

Josh Hawley (r) [2016 file photo].

We are Americans committed to the rule of law. We watched in horror at the insurrection of the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

The mob of seditionists who stormed the seat of American democracy were inspired and supported by several members of Congress including U.S. Senator Josh Hawley and others.

Just Oust Seditious Hacks PAC (JOSHPAC) is a permanent effort to call these irresponsible officials out for who they are – Traitors.

A video from Josh PAC:

The transcript:

It started with a lie.

Are you trying to say that as of January 20th that President Trump will still be president?

Josh Hawley: “Well Brett, that de,that depends on what happens on Wednesday.”

Shots have been fired inside the Capitol building.

The Capitol being overrun, lawmakers diving for cover, hearing flashbangs, armed standoff at the doors of the House floor.

Missouri Senator Josh Hawley helped to incite the riot at the U.S Capitol, fanning the flames of a lie. Hawley spearheaded the movement to object to the Electoral College certification. At the Capitol with his fists raised, gave a supportive fist to the insurrectionists as they descended on the capitol and then sent out a fundraising text message during its invasion.

Hawley was dropped by donors and disavowed by his mentor John Danforth. Four people died in the chaos. The Kansas City Star writes plainly that he has quote blood on his hands.

Senators swear an oath to the Constitution and loyalty to this country, not aid and abet an attempted coup against both.

This will not be the last of these.

Center for Medical Progress, Chris Koster, Claire McCaskill, missouri, Planned Parenthood, video

I wrote earlier today about how necessary it is that Democrats stand up against Republican efforts to slime Planned Parenthood with a patently bogus video. Then, later, I read this:

Reps. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Yvette Clarke (D-N.Y.) asked U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch and California Attorney General Kamala Harris on Tuesday to review whether the anti-abortion group Center for Medical Progress broke state and federal laws when it created a fake human tissue procurement company in order to gain access to and secretly film Planned Parenthood staffers. The Huffington Post reported on Friday that the CMP may have also illegally deceived the IRS and its donors by posing as a biomedicine charity in 2013.

“I am deeply concerned about the allegations that federal and state laws were violated in an attempt to attack Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides critical health care services to more than three million men and women each year, and that the attack was coordinated by conservative activists who want to discredit Planned Parenthood and its work,” Clarke said in a statement. “I urge Attorney General Loretta Lynch and the Honorable Kamala Harris, Attorney General of California, to initiate a full investigation into this incident to determine if any fraud or other illegal activities were committed.”

The Center for Medical Progress, which has ties to the violent anti-abortion activists at Operation Rescue, has released two heavily edited undercover videos that purport to show Planned Parenthood employees discussing the sale of fetal tissue. Planned Parenthood said the videos actually show employees discussing the donation of fetal tissue to scientific research, which is legal, not-for-profit and done only with the permission of the woman seeking the abortion. FactCheck.org debunked the CMP’s claims, noting that Planned Parenthood cannot possibly profit from the donation of fetal tissue based on the small reimbursement costs the doctor was caught discussing.

Nobody from Missouri’s on that list of righteous Democats – right, Claire McCaskill? In Missouri they line up with the Republicans – am I telling the truth Chris Koster – or else they keep their mouths shut and hope nobody notices.

But, outside Missouri the news is getting out that as far as “scandal” goes, there’s no there there in the CMP video, As today’s New York Times writes in an excellent editorial:

The Center for Medical Progress video campaign is a dishonest attempt to make legal, voluntary and potentially lifesaving tissue donations appear nefarious and illegal. Lawmakers responding by promoting their own anti-choice agenda are rewarding deception and putting women’s health and their constitutionally protected rights at risk.

Now just tell me how we go about getting some good, stand-up Democrats in Missouri to get that message out there.

2012, Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, president, video

Obama/Biden 2012 released a “theatrical trailer” video in anticipation of the start of the republican National Convention in Tampa:

[Romney advisers believe he’s viewed as “stiff, aloof, and distant”

and that the GOP convention will be “a chance for a fresh start”

their plan includes mad men “slick packaging” and a “theatrical,” Hollywood-style reinvention.]

Narrator: In a world where thousands of jobs were destroyed by his corporate takeovers.

Worker: One day we had a job, the next day we didn’t.

Narrator: From a state where his economic record was a failure, he faces an election where the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Mitt Romney (r): This a battle for the soul of America.

Narrator: And he’s tried it all.

Mitt Romney (r): I love this state. It seems right here, the trees are the right height.

Corporations are people, my friend.

I stand by whatever I said, whatever it was.

Narrator: But nothing is working.

Pundit: Mitt Romney’s favorability rating is about half President Obama’s.

Second Pundit: fifty percent of Americans view Mitt Romney unfavorably.

Narrator: His only hope is a convention reinvention.

And an etch-a-sketch of epic proportions will be shaken to its core.

Mitt Romney (r): I’m running for office, for Pete’s sake.

Narrator: On August 30th Mitt Romney stars in The Do-over. critics have called his previous work “wildly misleading”, “four pinocchios”, “pants on fire”.

Rated N, for not gonna work.

2012, Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, president, Ted Strickland, video

From the Obama/Biden 2012 campaign:

Al Sharpton: Now, Governor Strickland, uh, I was reading, uh, and watching a wise man. Uh, and let, uh, me read to you what he said about the President. He said, President Obama is betting on America and American workers and Mitt Romney is betting his resources in the Cayman Islands, in Bermuda, in Switzerland and god only knows where else. President Obama is the insourcer of jobs and Mitt Romney is the outsourcer of jobs. That wise man was you, Governor Strickland, introducing the President yesterday. Would you care to elaborate?

Former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland (D): Well, Reverend Al, I mean, we have two men who want to be the next President. And, uh, one of them, our President, our, our current President, has worked to build the middle class. Uh, he’s brought us out of this, uh, deep, deep recession and we’re moving forward. Uh, and on the other hand we have Mitt Romney, uh, a man who made great wealth, uh, as a result of the privileges that he had of living in this country. And, uh, what did he do with his wealth? Well, we don’t know everything he did with his wealth because he refuses to release his income tax returns. But we do know that he took part of his wealth and he invested that wealth in the Cayman Islands, uh, a recognized tax haven. Uh, he opened up a bank account in Switzerland. He established a corporation in Bermuda. Um, he, he went to South America when he formed Bain Capital and he got money from shadowy, um, uh, investors. Uh, some of them anonymous that we don’t know who they were. And, uh, and, and now he wants to be the President. And he says I’m the one who is worthy of leading this country because of my business experience. And I say give me a break. What is Mitt Romney hiding from the American people? Reverend Al, why isn’t he releasing his income tax returns? His father released twelve years of income tax returns when he ran for president. And Mitt Romney has released only one year. And, uh, we need to know, uh, more about this man’s business dealings. And, uh, he wants to be the President. The President, uh, has an obligation, I believe, to be candid and transparent and open with the American people. Someone said rightly that, uh, Mitt Romney is the most secretive, uh, American politician since Richard Nixon. And when it comes to his finances and what he’s done with his wealth, I think that’s absolutely the case.

Ouch.
