Too bad they didn’t think of that when they dismantled the Post Office sorting machines in Kansas City

In late August:

USPS removes 4 mail-processing machines in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An official at the United States Postal Service confirmed Friday that four mail-processing machines have been removed at its Kansas City, Missouri, facility.

The removal of machines comes as part of changes made by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, according to a report from CNN.

The USPS official said that in addition to the four machines removed in Kansas City, the USPS had removed two machines in Springfield and one in Wichita “for efficiency and lower mail volume.”

[….]

“We are seeing the destruction of the postal service,” U.S. Rep Emanuel Cleaver II, a Missouri Democrat who represents KCMO, said. “I don’t think there are any questions about it.”

[….]

The St. Louis Post Dispatch reported Friday that Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft was notified in late July that the USPS may not be able to return all mail-in ballots to election authorities by the Nov. 3 election.

That delay could invalidate some ballots for the general election, when the country will elect a president and Missouri will elect a governor, among other races.

[….]

That was then, this is now.

A campaign piece, from Uniting Missouri, the PAC propping up Governor Mike Parson (r), arrived in our mail yesterday:

“Officials say you should return your mail or absentee ballot now to ensure it is received and counted in time.”

No shit, Sherlock. Who’s responsible for this state of affairs?

Wait a minute. In Donald Trump’s (r) world aren’t mail-in ballots rife with fraud?

This right wingnut mail piece is just oozing cognitive dissonance and gaslighting. Not that their target audience would notice.

Oooh, scary stuff.

Fascists gotta Fascist.

It has to be that.

In our mail this week from Uniting Missouri, an extremely well-funded right wingnut PAC propping up Missouri Governor Mike Parson (r):

“Law and order” – Uh, who’s been in charge in Missouri? You know, like the current governor, almost all of the statewide office holders, and the General Assembly? It’s going that well?

“Election and postal experts recommend returning your absentee or mail ballot NOW to ensure timely arrival” – They must really believe weir awl stoopit. Has this ever been an issue before? Again, who’s been in charge? Who ordered the dismantling of sorting machines across the country? Who was that?

“Getting back to normal” – “Yes…we are OPEN, welcome” – We notice the proprietor of the establishment (probably a stock photo) isn’t wearing a mask. How convenient. No, thank you.

From the Missouri DHSS COVID-19 Dashboard, October 16, 2020:

Back to the address side of the mail piece:

“St. Louis Post Dispatch ‘Absentee Voters Surge'” – Not particularly subtle, is it?

“Join your neighbors” – Even less subtle.

Or if you’ve overseen an incompetent [accessed 10/13/2020] state response to COVID-19.

Thank you for accessing the Show Me Strong COVID-19 dashboards. The public health dashboards are currently under maintenance and were last updated on Saturday, October 10. They will be back up and running soon once a database extract error is resolved. Read more here on the website of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

The indicated link at “here” in the announcement on the Missouri DHSS COVID-19 dashboard site is broken.

…As of Tuesday afternoon, there have been at least 149,731 cases and 2,486 deaths in Missouri since the beginning of the pandemic, according to a New York Times database…

Or if you’ve cut off 100,000 Missouri Children from access to health care.

“…one of more than 100,000 Missouri children who have been dropped from the state’s Children’s Health Insurance Program since 2018. In September 2019, the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission reported that Missouri had the largest decline — 15.1 percent — in children covered by those two insurance programs between May 2017 and May 2019. Parson became governor on June 1, 2018, following the resignation of Governor Eric Greitens…”

We got mail today from the right wingnut PAC, Uniting Missouri, propping up Mike Parson’s (r) gubernatorial campaign:

"Little" Tuesday, campaign finance, mail, Mike Bloomberg, missouri, president, Primary

The Missouri presidential preference primary will take place on Tuesday, March 10th, a week after “Super” Tuesday. Here in west central Missouri we’ve received our first piece of campaign mail.

Slick.

“…He’ll be president for the entire country…” Uh, that’s how it used to work.

It is a Democratic Party primary. But, since voters in Missouri don’t register by party, any voter can pull a Democratic Party primary ballot.

Americans for Prosperity, mail, Proposition A, right to get paid less, Right to work, right wingnuts

That is the message in the anti-union Proposition A “right to get paid less” campaign mail strategy of Americans for Prosperity – Missouri.

Proposition A would allow workers who don’t want to pay Union dues for the Union representation in their work place to accrue the benefit of that Union representation without paying their fair share for it.

The “right to get paid less” powers that be keep mailing their anti-worker propaganda to Union households:

Chains? Really? What genius thought of that?

Uh, pro-choice, eh? “Freedom to choose” – they can’t believe we’re all that stupid. Well, yes, they can.

Note the state seal (in the gray background) – “United We…Divided We Fall”. That’s a rationale for collective bargaining.

“Right to work” gives some people the right to sponge off of the resources and hard work of their co-workers.

The diversity in the photo is just knocking the message out of the park. Not.

As if this about workers? This is about right wingnut corporatists who don’t want anyone to pay workers meaningful living wages. Period.

Vote “No” on the anti-Union Proposition A in the August 7th primary.

Is that model wearing one of those stone washed jackets? Just wondering.

Uh, Unions have regular elections for their leadership. That’s how union members keep their Union leaders “accountable”. How do workers keep their corporate “leaders” accountable? That’s easy. With Union representation.

Vote “No” on the anti-Union Proposition A in the August 7th primary.

They’re wrong.

They keep sending these mail pieces to a Union household.

By the way, who’s paying for this crap?

Right wingnut millionaires or billionares don’t fund propaganda mail pieces to your household telling you…

…which church you should join or support.

…which charity you should join or support.

…which YMCA (seriously, WTF?) you should join or support.

If they were truly concerned about the welfare of working people and their families in Missouri you’d think they would, right?

Nah, they just believe that peeple in misooree our stoopit.

Astroturf. You know, fake grassroots.

They sent this to a union household:

“Union bosses” are elected by their members. Are billionaires? Just asking. Yeah, right, billionaires and multi-millionaires are going to choose to pay working people higher wages.

Just asking.

So, who funded this? Who wrote the check(s) to Americans for Prosperity Foundation – Missouri?

Their concept of diversity appears to begin and end with hardhat colors.

Who benefits from “right to get paid less”? It ain’t working people.

Their mail vendor managed to send this piece to a dues paying union household. They apparently have plenty of money to waste on propaganda.
