Reported this morning:
Aaron Rupar @atrupar.com
Rep. Jason Smith: “I think that if this continues too long, the Senate should have a real conversation about in the time of the government shutdown, to look at making sure that you can pass a continuing of funding with just 51 votes.”
[….]
Some of the responses:
Of course they can do it now but keeping it the way it is allows them to keep blaming Democrats for their own ineptitude. This is just gaslighting so the public will think they can’t do these things and still maintain both the power and the “poor me” attitude.
How long is too long?
We’re about to find out.
Or you could, follow me here, find middle of the road legislation that 60% can approve. 60% just doesn’t seem like a high bar. Isn’t that still an ‘F’ in the classroom?
Let them and take full responsibility for taking away people’s healthcare.
“Nucular” option. He pronounces it just like Geo W did. It didn’t help at all for the reporter to say it correctly. Also, who sits like that? A dude that’s posing for camera? 🤭🤦
THEY WON’T DO IT. The GOP doesn’t want the government open. Full stop.
Loathesome as that guy is can he at least pronounce nuclear properly?
This is the only way forward. Republicans want to continue their neo-confederate / nazi project and are torturing the other side to make us sign onto it. They either stop it or take ownership of it. Since we all know they wont stop… making them own it is all we’ve got.
No. No. No. It’s your job to negotiate. Do your job.
They can do that now, but would rather starve children instead.
New-kyuh-lerr. Not a word. Also, nothing opens until orange mafia says it should. Stealing not done, y’know.
