Less 1984
More 1776 [….]

Missed it by that much.

Irony challenged. Much closer to 1984 than 1776.

1984 is fiction, 1933 is reality. Maybe read books instead of burning them?

Organizers and activists in Missouri have been gathering signatures for an initiative to place women’s reproductive rights, women’s health care, and access to abortion on the ballot. Missourians for Constitutional Freedom is the conduit for the petition drive.

A significant number of volunteers gathering those signatures will occasionally set up a folding table in a public place and announce via social media and other means that they’ll be at that particular location for a few hours.

This afternoon a group of volunteers set up a table outside the police station on Third Street in Sedalia.

They were accompanied at a distance by a small group of anti-choice protesters holding signs.

If the petition drive gathers enough signatures they’ll get their chance to vote on this initiative along with everyone else.

You think that’s what they’re afraid of?

It was a cool and blustery Sunday in downtown Sedalia. People showed up to sign the petition while I was there. Otherwise, it was comparatively quiet.

Sign the petition. Encourage your friends and family to sign the petition.

Yesterday, from Mark Alford (r):

Congressman Mark Alford
[March 16, 2024]
No one is safe in Biden’s America, and each day puts more people at risk.
This situation at the border is nothing short of a national security crisis.
Days before Trump was scheduled to visit the border, terrorists are flooding across.
Shut it down.
[….]

Some of the responses:

Quit whining => it’s what you VOTED for. And no, “terrorists” aren’t “flooding” anywhere, ffs. Y’all just like to scare yourselves. [….]

Vote on the Bipartisan bill. Easy as that.

This is one of the most embarrassing things I’ve seen. The guy that posts pictures of getting a cookie is now trying to pose as a WWE gangster. You have done 40 episodes of your little show and NOTHING about the border.

rage farming is all the clown caucus has

for someone who claims to be such a devout Christian you sure ignore your savior’s words. Jesus instructed you to welcome the stranger. Go fuck yourself hypocrite.

Immigrants, even undocumented commit 60% fewer crimes than homegrown Americans.
Also, congress was working on an immigration bill, until Citizen Trump** said shut it down.

Mark Alford = You Are Full of [….]! You Are a Embarrassment ! Please Just Make a Attempt to Do Your Job (the Right Thing) ! ! ! A Attempt Please ! ! ! . . .

Cause him and Obama are traders

Kids, stay awake in school.

You could have taken action, but the admitted and adjudicated rapist and failed businessman told you not to.

Liar. You voted against the Bipartisan bill that would have hired More Border Patrol, Additional Judges to process applications, Reduced the number of ineligible applications by deportation and Additional Technology Detection systems. WHY? Because trump, the liar in charge of your maga party told you to Not give President Biden a win. You voted against protecting the Nation.

Studies have proven that illegal immigrants commit crimes far less often than elected GOP officials.

We see what you did there.

Idle Alford = All hat, no cattle.

There is the hat.

More faux populism.

Eric Schmitt (r) [2022 file photo}.

On social media:

Eric Schmitt
[March 13, 2024]
The Democrats are completely out of touch with the concerns of working families. I’m proud of my working class roots and glad Republicans are their voice and pushing back against Biden and the Dems’ radical agenda.
[….]

They’re not buying it:

I never actually hear a plan to help the working class. What policies are you putting in place? How would you bring down the gas and food prices?

Wait, what, profits?

Name one bill that republicans have up that helps working families.

What exactly have the Republicans done in the last 20 years to help the American people

You went to a private school that costs $21,000 a year in tuition.
You were saying something about working class roots?

You are toast, people all see right through you

Sigh. MO can/must do better than this ring kissing, panderer. He doesn’t plan on ever leaving his cushy new job. We will see, senator. Keep spewing your special brand of BS. We see through it all!

You are out of touch with everything, but Trump’s taint. You are a disgrace! Resign!

Bad combover. Check. Too long red tie. Check. Orange spray tan. Check. Tiny hands. Check. Cluelessness. Check. Arraignment. Check.

You carry on about that but your orange dictator wannabe wants to cut social security and medicare. How do you reconcile your comments? Resign you complicit pandering lying hack.

so according to Scxhmitt every Democrat in the world is wealthy and never worked for a living kinda like Trump. Schmitt is on Foxnews where he is loved and sheltered. Schmitt claims that Biden is in charge and every day he sets prices worldwide. The only thing Schmitt is in touch with his lips on Trump’s orange butt.

Out of touch? Saids the man whose party is led by a corrupt “billionaire”…..who has exploited those who have worked for him and the system for his own personal gain….Trump did not pay his piano tuner in his casino…..took money from his charity intended for kids with cancer…..failed business man sham university, sham charity, failed businesses…Trump steak, vodka, air shuttle, football team and whole league thanks to Trump.
I will support the man backed by union workers, and raised by working parents….not born with 2 million in the bank and a silver spoon in his mouth…Who thinks he is above the law.

Now the truth: For the last 7 years the GOP has done NOTHING for the American People. They talk BS and DO NOTHING!!! Eric and Trump is the Number 1 and 2 that do nothing but put out misinformation. What Eric doesn’t tell you: Anytime you see the word “inflation” in the news, replace it with “record-breaking corporate profits.” Biden didn’t cause it they did!!

Definitely not buying it.

It is that season

Josh Hawley (r) [2016 file photo].

Today:

Senator Josh Hawley
[March 13, 2024]
What should you do if you have TikTok on your phone?
“. . . Take it off your phone right now and then crush your phone in a blender, I mean, run over it maybe with your truck.
“[TikTok] is a backdoor for the Chinese Communist Party into everything you’re doing.”
[….]

What kind of truck?

The Ivy League vision of a flatbed truck.

Just asking.

Some of the responses:

Very few are going to take adivice from Hawley as he as shown us time and time and time again that he can not be trusted to have our country’s best interest at heart and certainly not the best interests of we citizens of Missouri at heart.

Really…”Democrat leaders love the CCP”…??? Trump changed his mind about TikToc when one of wealthy sugar-daddies told him he’d lose money if they banned TikTok. Talk about being bought by communist!!!!

This move is so the government can shutdown any and all platforms to keep us from communicating with each other when there is an up rising. It’s all about control which our government has to much of.

I thought that you were an advocate of free speech, or at least free speech for everyone but those who disagree with you. This is outright authoritarian censorship worthy of China itself, which has banned American social media such as Google, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Netflix, and X

But his bill is so vague that it will give the feds unlimited power to determine who and what we can listen to. NO NO NO.

Thank you for standing against Trump, trying to protect us all from TikTok data manipulations from China. Please quit generally supporting Trump.

It’s hilarious that this is posted on Facebook which is notorious for spying on every user!

Sure, let’s take a $1000 phone and run it over.

Populism!
