From an audit of former Attorney General Josh Hawley (r), released yesterday by State Auditor Nicole Galloway’s (D) Office:

…In a December 31, 2019, letter (Appendix I, page 435) in response to seeing a draft copy of this report, the AGO formally objected to the inclusion of interview transcripts in this report, and stated the inclusion of these transcripts would be a disclosure of audit working papers, and therefore, a felony violation of Chapter 29, RSMo. The SAO disagrees with this conclusion. Objections to the inclusion of interview transcripts and audit communications citing Chapter 29, RSMo, are without merit. The confidentiality provisions of Chapter 29 are intended to protect the SAO’s working papers from public disclosure. The interpretation that those confidentiality provisions are intended to keep the SAO from disclosing information obtained during the course of the audit is at odds with Chapter 29, RSMo, and Yellow Book requirements, which both require a report of information obtained during an audit be made public. In addition, the statement that the inclusion of working papers as appendices to a public report is unprecedented is not accurate. Including information obtained during an audit as appendices is very common and not unique to this administration. Appendices have been part of audit reports issued by the SAO for decades…

Yesterday evening, from Josh Hawley (r):

Josh Hawley @HawleyMO
When you have to break the law to try to score political points, you know you’re desperate. Given the evidence of rampant political manipulation in her office, Galloway should recuse herself from all audits if she’s going to keep running for Governor #mogov #moleg
[….]

Says the ladder climber.

“Evidence”? Since when has evidence been something Josh Hawley (r) cared about?

“The most dangerous place to stand in Washington D.C. is any place between Senator Josh Hawley and a live microphone” – Charles P. Pierce

As always, there was much hilarity in the responses:

Yeah Josh, speaking of breaking the law, where do you come down on Trump stealing money from his foundation, admitting guilt in a court of law, and being fined $2,000,000? Is that ok with you? If so, WTF did they teach you in law school?

Chutzpah.

Oh, lookit. Newly made man in the Trump Crime Syndicate has thoughts about ethics. You can take your thoughts about what Auditor Galloway should or shouldn’t do and stuff them. Republicans are just crazy, thinking that anyone believes anything they say anymore.

Please! You looked the other way at the rule of law when you acquitted your dear leader refused to allow evidence into the trial. Now you invoke it for your own political purposes. All I can say is that this isn’t surprising. You’re a hypocrite & we’re paying attention.

“When you have to break the law to try to score political points, you know you’re desperate” pretty much summarizes you and the rest of the GOP under Trump.

Shall we start calling you Josh the Desperate? Desperate Hawley?

Works for us.

I think you have already burned all your “rule of law” capital on the president’s get out of jail free card.

IOKIYAR*

* it’s okay if you’re a republican

Your complete lack of self awareness in the phrasing of this tweet is absolutely astounding!

It’s amazing, He does know the Head Grifter.

Dem corruption?? Freaking hilarious!
Remind me again How many Dem associates pled guilty or are serving/ have served/ will serve prison time??
Meanwhile at least 6 Trump associates have/will.
But please tell us all about the Dem corruption!

Lol. Nope, you can never allege political wrongdoing of another after letting Trump off.

isn’t that what you’ve been doing for the last 3 years? what a buffoon

No wonder you voted to acquit tRump. You’re made in the same mold as he is.

When I read the first sentence of your tweet, Senator Thirsty, I thought somehow a conscience has emerged and you regretted your vote for a corrupt acquittal of Trump.
I see it’s just leftover flyover-state corruption baggage that isn’t resolved.
Carry on.

Typical Republican modus operandi. Break the law, get caught, claim partisanship!

“When you have to break the law to try to score political points, you know you’re desperate.”

That’s the truest thing you’ve ever said about Donald Trump.

Too much transparency for you?

So your buddy @GovParsonMO is nervous about the support Ms. Galloway is generating among voters here in MO?

Says the Sycophant Senator whose took dark money and literally had his staff using secret messaging while he “investigated” Greitens for doing the same.

You may be guilty……..so don’t LIE

Looking at cover ups on national level is embolding you to pursue same on state level. You’re as corrupt as your idol.

For some reason, Trump and get away with lying to people. I suggest you not try it. That’s actually friendly advice.

You’re an embarrassment to our state. We deserve better leaders.

*When I had to break the law to score a political position, you know I’m desperate.
There, I fixed it for you.
#showmeethics

You swore under oath that you would listen impartially to the house managers and yet you didn’t, so there’s that.

There’s that.

“The stew of high intellect and low principle is ghastly. “ Love that quote about you, so fitting.

You voted to acquit a criminal president despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, you are not allowed to pretend to have integrity, morals, honor or a backbone.

You voted for the presidency having absolute immunity.

Why did you vote for a King?

Seriously! You just voted to acquit a lawless president and you’re calling for Galloway to recuse herself. You covered for Greiten and his sleezy blackmail as you were climbing the ladder to your next position. I feel that you’re the desperate one, clutching on to Trump. #Corrupt

“When you have to break the laws to score political points, you know your desperate.”

Cool admission here, you corrupt hack.

Dude…you just voted to acquit President Trump for irrefutable facts that he attempted to coerce/bribe an ally by withholding military aid unless there was an announcement of an investigation. You are an embarrassment to our state, and I am optimistic you will end up I prison.

We don’t live in a just world.

You’d know a lot about selling your soul to score political points.

Stop telling us what Galloway’s audit says. Your version is unrecognizable. And we can read it for ourselves. We know what it says.

Bad faith Senator says what?

And on and on…

Trump: [Inaudible.] You have some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people on both sides. You had people in that group — excuse me, excuse me — I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.

Reporter: Do you support white nationalists, then?

[Cross talk. Reporters shout questions.]

Trump: Well, George Washington was a slave owner. Was George Washington a slave owner? So, will George Washington now lose his status? Are we going to take down- Excuse me. Are we going to take down, are we going to take down statues to George Washington? How about Thomas Jefferson? What do you think of Thomas Jefferson? You like him?

A bill, introduced by Senator Denny Hoskins (r):

SB 366
Establishes the Show Missouri Film and Digital Media Act
Sponsor: Hoskins
LR Number: 1846S.01I
Committee:
Last Action: 2/7/2019 – S First Read–SB 366-Hoskins
Journal Page: S214
[….]

Current Bill Summary

SB 366 – This act creates the “Show Missouri Film and Digital Media Act”.

This act reauthorizes a tax credit for certain expenses related to the production of qualified film production projects in this state, as defined in the act. Tax credits for such expenses under previous law expired on November 28, 2013.

For all tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2020, this act authorizes a tax credit equal to 20% of qualifying in-state expenses, as defined in the act, and 10% of qualifying out-of-state expenses, as defined in the act, associated with the production of a qualified film production project. An additional 5% may be awarded for both qualifying in-state and out-of-state expenses if at least 50% of the qualified film production project is filmed in Missouri.

This act shall sunset on December 31 six years from the effective date of the act, unless reauthorized by the General Assembly.

This act is substantially similar to HB 1661 (2018).
[….]

Oh, that’s rich. Remember this, almost nine years ago?:

…My own questions were based on those I received from constituents concerning the film festival. As you can see, I did not request funding be withheld or rescinded. I simply asked how people who need assistance would be helped by the film festival. Since the film festival was held, I have received even more questions from constituents. The idea of a film festival or similar event to shine a spotlight on the Warrensburg community is not in itself a bad idea. How to pay for this event is what concerns me…

Ah, the benefits of a long memory and a blog archive.

Apparently, supporting the art form of cinema is back in vogue.

Josh Hawley [2016 file photo].

Yeah, we know our file photos of Josh Hawley (r) are getting old. It’s not like he’s traveling around Missouri holding open public town halls in every little town with an even smaller diner on Main Street.

Thursday, from Josh Hawley (r), via Twitter:

Josh Hawley @HawleyMO
Delighted to vote to advance @realDonaldTrump nominee for AG, Bill Barr, to the Senate floor. Experienced, capable, trustworthy. Can’t believe not a single Dem would put politics aside to vote yes
3:17 PM – 7 Feb 2019

Some of the reponses:

Did he promise not to stop Mueller and to release the entire Mueller report unedited?

Darn those checks! Curse those balances!

Sarcasm. Nice.

Might mean he has issues.

Did you not see him whiff the softball question on systemic racism in the justice department? I guess they probably didn’t cover it on Fox News…

@ChrisCoons per @thehill “I believe that my responsibility to assess Mr. Barr’s candidacy requires me to consider Mr. Barr’s entire record, including his more recent writings and statements.”

Nothing about politics.

Do you mind asking him about his support for pardons for people involved with the Iran-Contra Affair? This constituent would just like to have his statements on that on the congressional record.

More sarcasm. Nice.

I said, “I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.” I took her out furniture—I moved on her like a bitch. But I couldn’t get there. And she was married. Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.”

From the pearl clutchers at the Missouri GOP:

MOGOP Statement on Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s Vile Comment
Immediately after being sworn in, Michigan Democrat and member of the Democrat Socialists of America Rep. Rashida Tlaib told a group that “we’re going to impeach the motherf****r”. The comment was made in reference to President Trump. Today, Tlaib doubled down by insisting she showed no remorse via her Twitter account. In response, MOGOP Executive Director Ray Bozarth released the following statement calling on Missouri Democrat Party Chair Jean Peters Baker to denounce Tlaib’s comment:

“If the Missouri Democrat Party and their Chair Jean Peters Baker don’t want another shellacking at the polls in 2020, the math says they have to court Trump voters. Which means Baker needs to find the courage to start pushing back on these attacks on President Trump. That starts with her denouncing Rep. Tlaib’s comments about impeaching “the motherf****r.” said Bozarth. He added “Baker needs to denounce this attack now, or risk alienating more Missouri voters.”
###

Some of the responses to the Missouri GOP Twitter announcement of their press release:

Oh please. I guess she learned it from the “president.”

Hypocrisy and Republican seem to be interchangeable nouns these days. A three second internet search is all that’s needed to provide ample samples of similar or much worse coming from our fearful leader.

So, you’re saying that Dems shouldn’t take cues on decorum from the @GOP president? How many times have you moved to denounce Trump’s reprehensible remarks? There are plenty to choose from.

MOGOP has nothing better to do? I would disband if i were MOGOP.

U literally invited racist/bigot Arpaio to your event. Take a hike MO GOP.

Well, yes they did.

Your boy is threatening to declare a national emergency to build a wall that intelligent people know is rooted in racism and fear-mongering.

Take your #FakeOutrage and shove it.

The GOP put a man accused of sexual assault on the Supreme Court and are referring to a video of a college-aged AOC as “scandalous.” They don’t get to be upset about the use of the word “motherfucker.”

Didn’t know you were such a bunch of snowflakes

Oh, please.
You voted for and continue to support a lying, racist, sexual predator who cheats on his wives.

My latest Op-Ed: Will Dems work with us, or simply put partisan politics ahead of the country?

3:43 PM – 13 Nov 2018

Some of the responses:

My latest Op-Ed: F*** off, Treason Turtle.

Paid for by the ShutYoLyingAssUp Super PAC.

Care to comment on Merrick Garland? Or the bipartisan legislation to protect Mueller?

Incredble. You’ve been obstructing and devisive for years, putting party over country and allowing this travesty of a president run amok. Resign, you cretin.#impeachtrump

My latest op-ed: Will the Democrats be the adults in the room, per usual, and work with Republicans—or will they do the exact same thing the hypocrite GOP “leader” McConnell did for 8 years? #GOPhypocrites

Wait, what? hahaha — oh senator, this is rich…… Remember “we’ll make Obama a one term president?” Remember, “we’ll just say no to everything” meeting? Remember Merrick Garland?

LOL. Did you work with President Obama? There’s your answer, you Vichy pimple.

Okay, we’re stealing that.

More notable than Merrick Garland, which speaks to the irony of this article, is that he wrote it for Fox News rather than an outlet that caters to Democrats, betraying his true intentions.

You haven’t worked with Dems for 10 yrs. Now you’re the aggreived party? Most of this country is sick of your crap. I hope it all catches up with you. I hope you have to pay for what you have done to this country and your own party. Jerk.

“One of my proudest moments was when I looked Barack Obama in the eye and I said, ‘Mr. President, you will not fill the Supreme Court vacancy.’ ” – Mitch McConnell

You’ve done more personally to tear down our faith in institutions than any single individual alive. I can’t wait until you’re gone but until then, have a seat.

How about we make Trump a “One Term President”?

See how I just used your thing against you?

Lolololol, I’m hilarious.

“The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.” – Mitch McConnell (Oct. 23, 2010)

I cannot imagine a hell of nearly enough torment to suit the treason and fuckery you have Inflicted upon people to destroy this nation in favor of the rich. God damn McConnell to motherfucking hell

Hey Yurtle, you mean like how you proudly obstructed Pres. Obama for 8 years you corrupt, calcified, hypocrite

Oh please explain partinship to us when you wouldn’t allow the FBI to issue a statement about RU election interference and you wouldn’t allow Merrick Garland to have a hearing for almost a year. Your the definition of a political hack & I’m praying you have criminal liability.

I suspect you will reap what you’ve sown.

And I think you know that.

Merrick Garland

You’re a terrible human being.

The guy who said his number one legislative priority is making Obama a one-term President and invented excuses to keep a Supreme Court seat open for over a year wants Democrats to put country over politics and work with the other side.

ratio’ed, bitch

You got some nerve, you bag of shit.

I’ll give you one thing:

You do hypocrisy like no other person alive.

By opposing the Trump/McConnell agenda as vigorously as possible, the Democrats would be putting country over partisan politics.

Bingo.

Nobody will work with you. Take it personally. #merrickgarland

Will Dems work on the agenda the Americans people elected them to enact, or simply put doomed efforts to reach out to recalcitrant Repubs who will never reciprocate ahead of the country?

Really mitch. How about Garland? And everything Obama had proposed we wont forget what you did to our country during Obama years or during this administration. You sold our democracy to Russia.

You shameless sack of shit

Pressed for time, quick answer: fuck you.

Merrick Garland says what?

The gall is astronomical here

Coming from you… this is the most ironic thing I’ve seen all year. Congratulations.

Did you say Merrick Garland?

Because Merrick Garland.

This is like the pot calling the kettle the most cynical partisan leader of my lifetime

Dude you are hilarious, will you work with us since we seem to have the majority of solutions.

Remember your response when asked about working across the aisle with Dems under Obama? “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.” Yeah…that’s how YOU “put country ahead of partisan politics”, hypocrite.

We elected them TO GET DJT out of the WH.. so you figure it out

Oh Turtle when did you become funny?

eat shit

You have no moral standing to advocate for bipartisanship. You and the President have done more than anyone to destroy statesmanship in our time.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Don’t worry, McConnell, we’ve been taking notes and studying the #GOP to learn how to cooperate.

#McConnell #gop #partisanpolitics

Mitch McConnell, 2010: “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”

Mitch McConnell, 2018: Democrats probably won’t work with us because I personally reforged Congress into a partisan machine. And it’s all their fault.

Oh will history savage you. The worst of the cynical wretches. You are a bad person, sir.

I’m sure they’re going to work with you just as much as you’ve worked with Democrats over the last ten years.

No. Senate Dems will not work with you unless it’s to pass legislation passed in the House. But we know you have no plans to work with the Dems.

This is the onion right ?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha GO FUK YOURSELF ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

We will do the same thing you have done. Winter is here.

Mitch is to bipartisanship as Trump is to honesty.

Heh.

My suggestion; hold your breath until you find out in January.

Is this like a DDoS attack where you try to take down twitter’s servers with a massive surge of irony?

You never worked with them. Why should they work with you?

I’m going with the third choice of “we’re going to do what republicans didn’t have the patriotism or courage to do because they’re partisan hacks” Good chat Yurtle!

You schedule that Merrick Garland confirmation hearing yet?

The same way you put partisan politics ahead of human rights, lives, and any consideration of others who aren’t in the 1% white old men’s club?

Oh that’s rich…..

And with that, self awareness died.

This is a parody account right?

Probably not.

Some of the responses:

Merrick Garland.
And don’t pretend to give a damn about Missourians. You’ve been bought and paid for.

If the 8th circuit position was vacant for 4 years it still wouldn’t make up for the shenanigans you pulled with Merrick Garland.

You need to research & check with your constituents. How about a #TownHall to discuss him.

Needless delay in confirming Supreme Court nominee is bad for MO. Time to vote on Judge Garland’s nomination.

Merrick Garland sound familiar to you? We will not forget.

There’s an election going on right now. We don’t confirm judges in election years, Roy.

Weird. You weren’t this enthusiastic about filling vacancies from 2010-2016. It’s like this isn’t a good faith argument…

Needless delay in even interviewing Merrick Garland made you look like what you are..a partisan hack who cares NOTHING about MO

You held up Merrick Garland for a year, you perjury supporting hypocrite

After Blocking Surgeon General Nominee, Republican Blames Obama For Surgeon General Vacancy

by Adam Peck Posted on October 19, 2014 at 12:55 pm

It has been nearly a year since Vivek Murthy was nominated by President Obama to serve as the next Surgeon General, but thanks in large part to the gun lobby and their Republican allies in the Senate, there has yet to be any movement on his confirmation.

That vacancy has become a central focus in the last week as government officials and medical professionals try to calm the public about the spread of Ebola.

On Sunday, Meet the Press host Chuck Todd asked Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO) about the NRA’s role in blocking Murthy’s confirmation, but the Republican senator dismissed the question outright…
