4th Congressional District, former newsreader, it's okay if you're a republican, Mark Alford, missouri, national security, right wingnut, social media, sycophant, that ridiculous hat, Trump sycophant

* it’s okay if you’re a Putin stooge

Mark Alford (r) [2024 file photo].

Pete Hegseth (r) fucks up:

Mark Alford
[March 26, 2025]
[….]

Mark Alford thinks everyone else is stoopit…

There was, as usual, much hilarity in the responses:

Nobody with an IQ over a brussell sprout believes this BS from Pete Whiskeyleaks or you. You, as a former “journalist” should know better.

That one left a mark, Mark.

Mark,
I retired from intelligence work in 2016 as a member of the Army. Secretary Hegseth is wrong. In my experience, those plans about he strikes, and the end results of what they saw, would at the very least be SECRET//NOFORN until after the press releases were ready. The finer details would still be kept classified.
Please exert your Article II powers and ensure the classification regulations and laws are followed. Concerns would be the following:
1.) Adversary nations would potentially be able to break the encryption on Signal, as has been done before. This could provide early warning/detection to targets we do not want to have it.
2.) Acknowledging our TTPs through unclassified/unsecured networks also helps to develop enemy countermeasures to how we conduct operations.
3.) Personnel assigned to these groups may be targeted by hostile intelligence services looking for information to complete our operational picture.

Hey Mark –
Ya’ll are supposed to be about ‘transparency’, right? So curious as to why ol Tulsi wouldn’t even admit she was in the chat when questioned? Why did Hegseth say there was no chat before getting busted on it?
I mean if there is nothing there, why lie in the first place and look like incompetent cover up artists? Why the hell are they using unofficial ways to communicate (and that deletes records of the conversations) and who was the braniac who invited the journalist into the chat – the same journalist that Hegseth and company are now trying to demonize for their own mistake?
You can try to downplay this all you want and just continue churning out what you’re told to say like a good little sheep – but the people are seeing things they don’t care for – and much of it is super hypocritical.
People won’t forget

Alford, did you even read the transcript?
Hegseth is a known alcoholic, a liar and a hypocrite. He fits in well with trump. How can you not be irate and demanding the truth from this joke of a regime? Would you be reacting if the Biden admin ha done this. Give us, we, the people, an honest answer for once.
Thursday, March 13
How Pete Hegseth Signal group chat reacted to war plans. How Pete Hegseth Signal group chat reacted to war plans leak
White House National Security Advisor Michael Waltz: “Team – establishing a principles group for coordination on Houthis, particularly for over the next 72 hours. My deputy Alex Wong is pulling together a tiger team at deputies/agency Chief of Staff level following up from the meeting in the Sit Room this morning for action items and will be sending that out later this evening.
“Pls provide the best staff POC [point of contact] from your team for us to coordinate with over the next couple days and over the weekend. Thx.”
There’s your target.

Wasn’t the group chat named Houthi PC small group or something like that? And Hegseth listed off times and what was happening at those times?
If this had been something done during the last administration, I’m pretty sure you’d have a different response.

Bingo!

Deflect much? Real shame to see “military supporters” downplaying this idiotic mess. They ALL screwed up big time. Most of us expected something but 2 months in was quite the achievement. But go ahead and double down, per usual.

Regardless of the content it should not have been sent to the journalist. If you appoint incompetent people you get incompetence.

Stop acting like this wasn’t news or a serious security breach. Hegseth is woefully under qualified and his response shows it.

Sounds like a cover up!

Dancing around the Facts! Classifed or not (1) use of an unsecured app. (2) The National Security Agency sent out an operational security special bulletin to its employees in February 2025 warning them of vulnerabilities in using the encrypted messaging application Signal.
A question: Was this the only time any member of the used Signal? A full investigation is warrented of each participants to determine previous security and disclosure abuse.

So tired of unqualified people in highly sensitive positions screwing up, putting real Americans in danger, trying to lie their way out of it and other Republicans misleading Americans about the truth. Trump doesn’t love you Mr. Alford. He will turn on you in a Russion red minute.

Funny you should mention Russia.

“Make America Great Again” – in Russian.

Wasn’t the journalist added on the the group by a staffer of Mr Waltz? If so why, where did he get it, if anyone needs to go I’d think it would be him after explaining what happened.

Stop sticking up for those living a××holes

Today at the Department of Justice:

Department of Justice
Office of Public Affairs FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Friday, November 18, 2022

Appointment of a Special Counsel

Attorney General Merrick B. Garland announced today the appointment of former career Justice Department prosecutor and former chief prosecutor for the special court in The Hague, Jack Smith, to serve as Special Counsel to oversee two ongoing criminal investigations. The first is the investigation, as described in court filings in the District of Columbia, into whether any person or entity unlawfully interfered with the transfer of power following the 2020 presidential election or the certification of the Electoral College vote held on or about January 6, 2021. The second is the ongoing investigation involving classified documents and other presidential records, as well as the possible obstruction of that investigation, referenced and described in court filings submitted in a pending matter in the Southern District of Florida.

“Based on recent developments, including the former President’s announcement that he is a candidate for President in the next election, and the sitting President’s stated intention to be a candidate as well, I have concluded that it is in the public interest to appoint a special counsel,” said Attorney General Garland. “Such an appointment underscores the Department’s commitment to both independence and accountability in particularly sensitive matters. It also allows prosecutors and agents to continue their work expeditiously, and to make decisions indisputably guided only by the facts and the law.”

The Attorney General also stated, “Although the Special Counsel will not be subject to the day-to-day supervision of any official of the Department, he must comply with the regulations, procedures, and policies of the Department. I will ensure that the Special Counsel receives the resources to conduct this work quickly and completely. Given the work done to date and Mr. Smith’s prosecutorial experience, I am confident that this appointment will not slow the completion of these investigations. The men and women who are pursuing these investigations are conducting themselves in accordance with the highest standards of professionalism. I could not be prouder of them. I strongly believe that the normal processes of this Department can handle all investigations with integrity. And I also believe that appointing a Special Counsel at this time is the right thing to do. The extraordinary circumstances presented here demand it. Mr. Smith is the right choice to complete these matters in an even-handed and urgent manner.”

Special Counsel Smith has resigned as the chief prosecutor for the special court in The Hague charged with investigating and adjudicating war crimes in Kosovo.
