Mark Alford (r) [2023 file photo].

Today:

Mark Alford
[October 16, 2023]
In case there is any doubt…. I’m FULLY supporting Jim Jordan for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. Jim embodies the conservative values that I and our district hold dear. I encourage ALL my Republican colleagues to vote for Jim and let’s get on with the business of leading!!!!

Some of the responses:

Does He put God 1st

Does He love God

I usually add a little onion powder to my Mac and Cheese.

Ask the Missouri farmers if they know Jim Jordan has never voted in favor of the farm bill!

“Jim Jordan hasn’t passed a single bill in his 16 years of congress. Who else agrees he’s far too ineffective to be Speaker?

I completely agree. Not sure why anyone thinks he is a good choice.

Gym Jordan are you kidding me. Ask some of the wrestling team in Ohio how they feel.

That’s very promising for a Democrat takeover of the house in 2024. Thanks for all of your effort.

The fact that as a coach he knew about, or at least had enough information to be highly suspicious of sexual abuse happening to his college students, and yet did nothing at all to investigate or prevent further abuse doesn’t bother you one teeny tiny bit? Doesn’t make you question his leadership skills or integrity at all? Or are you willing to overlook that deficiency?

[….] Wasn’t he wholeheartedly involved in attempting to overthrow democracy and trashing the constitution to keep a narcissistic in power also?

Jordan was prolific in the attempted trump coup, and should have been drummed out of Congress Jan 7th. He is completely unqualified to serve in any capacity. Jordan is a traitor to this country.
The fact Mark Alford supports Jordan tells you exactly what he’s going to do in any trump repeat, he’s going to work to overthrow the current democracy. You’re unfit to serve, Mark Alford, you’re a traitor.

Hard no on Gym Jordan, traitorous insurrectionist and known pedophile enabler!!!
Dennis Hastert, Jerry Sandusky and Larry Nassar all agree with you and the Grand Old Party of pedophilia’s choice though.
Because Gymmie also failed the students under his charge. He failed to protect them from molestation and he refused to back them when they asked for his help. It was his JOB to help them and he failed them.
Just like he’s failed in his Committee Chair. Maybe if he’d actually passed the Bar Exam instead of failing it 3 times, he might have been competent enough to run the Judiciary Committee. If he had earned his law degree, he might understand how the rules work. He doesn’t.
Just think about how badly he’ll fail us if Speaker!!!

Insurrectionist can never be trusted again.

I’m very disappointed with this news. He supported the idea that the election was bogus, the January 6 insurrection, where police officers lost their lives due to the attack on the nation’s capitol, and has morals that are not what Republicans used to support. Why not try to get a bipartisan candidate who can lead Congress in the path where our country actually is working for the good of our nation? Very disappointing, indeed. Of course, this path will continue to divide our government and little will be accomplished in the next few years. The US has become the laughing stock of the world for our inability to work for the future of all Americans.

Jim Jordan covered up sexual abuse. He is the perfect fit to lead Republicans in the House. Sexual assault is a prerequisite for Republican leaders these days.

I’m concerned because Jim Jordan isn’t known for passing legislation or working with Democrats or Senators. That’s pretty much the job description of Speaker. How is he going to be at crafting bills that reflect the majority, don’t alienate the other side, and can also pass the Senate? We don’t need a Speaker who just obstructs until the next election.

Mark Alford (r) considers that a feature, not a bug.

When did sexual abuse cover up become a Conservative value?

Not exactly stellar endorsements there.

“…’Absolutely not,’ said Rep. Ann Wagner, a Scalise ally, when I asked if she will support Jordan for speaker….”

That was then, this is now:

Wagner Statement on Speaker Race
October 16, 2023
Press Release
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO) released the following statement on the House Speaker’s race:

“Let me be clear, I am not, and will not, work with Democrats as our Republican Conference comes together to elect a conservative Speaker of the House.

“Too much is at stake to hand control of the House over to radical liberal Democrats, which is why we must elect a conservative as the next Speaker. Throughout my time in Congress, I have always been a team player and supported our Republican nominees out of Conference.

“Jim Jordan and I spoke at length again this morning, and he has allayed my concerns about keeping the government open with conservative funding, the need for strong border security, our need for consistent international support in times of war and unrest, as well as the need for stronger protections against the scourge of human trafficking and child exploitation.

“Jim Jordan is our conference nominee, and I will support his nomination for Speaker on the House floor.”

Today’s establishment GOP, with the principles, fortitude, and spine of a wet noodle.

“Whom do you want to see as the next speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives?”

Hakeem Jeffries (D).

Last night:

[October 14, 2023]
Whom do you want to see as the next speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives?

One of the exchanges:

Why doesn’t Jordan have enough votes? what do we not see about him?

Mark Alford
[….] hi there
Our conference is terribly fractured. Some mccarthy people don’t like Scalise and are pushing for Jordan
Some Scalise people don’t like Jordan
The chairman of the armed services is against Jordan because of his stance on defense spending.
I’m supporting Jordan

[emphasis added]

“…The chairman of the armed services is against Jordan because of his stance on defense spending.

The third senator from Virginia, Josh Hawley (r), has complaints.

Yesterday:

Senator Josh Hawley
[October 13, 2023]
“This is the second time in two years now, Sean, where we’ve had Americans who are stranded in a war zone, and the [Biden] Administration seems to have no idea what to do.”
[….]

Some of the responses:

Bud – you’re a day or two late and a french fry short… just stop.

Josh – You are late in your posting or just working for votes. [….]

Wow joshie is such a fool, I guess he believes that Biden personally attacked Isreal?

Ever notice how we go from 1 crisis to another? House can’t find a speaker? Hamas attacks Isreal this week? It’s because we have no leader to drive this country? He is not even in the back seat…more like the trunk! He can’t even read notes from his handlers? A real President would lock the house in and release them when they come to consensus! A real President would show peace thru strength, not fund and release sanctions to Iran to fund Hamas? We are living thru Chaos thru weakness!

“…A real President would lock the house in and release them when they come to consensus!…”

Ooo, gee, well your hero trump just praised Hamas sooo, I guess it’s time to change your position? It’s sooo hard to take a stand when your leader changes his position on whether they fawned over him enough or not…

Bad combover. Check. Too long red tie. Check. Orange spray tan. Check. Tiny hands. Check. Cluelessness. Check. Arraignment. Check.

Why don’t we have senior military and middle east ambassadors confirmed & working?

You could ask Tommy Tuberville (r).

So Senator what would your solution be to evacuating AMCITS from a war zone? BTW we are talking approximately 500K who live in Isreal, and how many tourists are there? There isn’t enough air or sea lift in the world to evacuate them quickly. They are competing with other nations for the same assets. Where do they go to be processed and tracked where they are not a target? How many teams will be needed to go in and work the processing centers and where do they come from? How do they get food, water, medical, and where do they bed down? What do we do with AMCITS who do not want to leave? Oh and what about the same questions in Lebanon? BTW the DOS and military have been working the problems as immediately directed by the POTUS. Maybe if we had an Ambassador there to take charge which is one of their jobs. Unfortunately that nomination has been held up in the Senate. Leaders come with ideas and solutions, not political theater and sound bites. Maybe we should be trying to work together instead of making more divisive political statements. WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OR SOLUTION SENATOR?

The Fox Noise Machine is fake news and anti-American propaganda, numnuts.

Correct but it is also where Hawley likes to campaign instead of working for people of Missouri and the nation.

Wow Senator, are you seriously this misinformed, or just lying? Iran hasn’t received any of that money and their government will never see a penny of it. And President Biden is sending chartered planes to evacuate Americans as we speak.

RUN JOSH RUN!!!

Run Josh run. Your rioting buddies are getting near. What a chickenshit

These kids listen to marxist teachers/professors and believe everything they are being indoctrinated with. They do not even try to research or go back in history and learn anything. Very gullible very ignorant.

Of course this opportunistic little pissant old fist pump is going to try to score political points off this human tragedy

You are a sick lying fraud and just pathetic. The lies here you tell are not what is happening as we have heard from the people of Israel you sick FIST pumping traitor. You need to be removed from Congress. You are a danger to the truth and the facts. You cult people are just sick.

[….] Hey, manly man, why don’t you go rescue them? You seem to have all the answers.
Go![….]

He’s got chartered flights lined up.
He’s doing more than you seditionists are.

Cue the circus music.

Olivia Beavers @Olivia_Beavers
“Absolutely not,” said Rep. Ann Wagner, a Scalise ally, when I asked if she will support Jordan for speaker.

“Yesterday in conference, he gave the most disgraceful, ungracious – I can’t call it a concession speech – of all time. There were gasps in the room.”
8:33 PM · Oct 12, 2023

….Wagner then recalled another moment that lost Jordan her support. It took place during a private meeting between Scalise and Jordan, less than an hour after the majority leader won the House GOP’s internal speaker ballot. Wagner wasn’t in the room, but she remained outside in Scalise’s office and took in the immediate aftermath.

According to Wagner and other House Republicans briefed on the meeting, Jordan said to Scalise: “You get one ballot. And when you go down, you will nominate me.”

She said Scalise pushed back, arguing he had won by the conference rules, to which Jordan replied: “America wants me,” before storming out the door….

Whatever, Ann (r). You helped build this.

Last week:

[October 6, 2023]
Above the Speaker’s rostrum, and above the flag of the United States of America, are four words: In God We Trust.
I’m trusting God that he is going to raise up the next Speaker of the House.
There is divine providence in all of this and we will have someone who is ready to help us lead the country.
[….]

Mark Alford (r) [2023 file photo].

Some of the responses to Mark Alford (r):

Pretty sad when Republicans are so incapable of functioning they now want to sit around and make God do the work for them.

We don’t need your hypocritical evangelical intervention in government.

[….] I wonder why he didn’t raise up the right speaker the first time

There’s that.

Those words have no business being there. They were adopted in 1956 after the communist witch hunts. They were NOT the words of any founding father. If you’re relying on a deity to make something happen, you shouldn’t be holding your position.
E pluribus unum is wholly appropriate.

There’s that.

Kevin is a traitor he should never have got in the office sent you guys home and then goes and works back door midnight meetings while you’re all away
