This is only a temporary measure to try to get truckers to keep being suckers and keep voting Republican. Watch, the new supply will run out the day after the election.

what will happen is that everyone will scream blue murder at the end of the year when the relief stops, thinking that by then they are entitled to it. If the Democrats prevail in the midterms, I have no doubt it will be spun as a Democrat failure when the relief terminates. If they don’t prevail, it will simply be removed anyway, because it is time limited.

But it doesn’t help us farmers in running our tractors and combines. The tax break doesn’t work on the fuel we use for harvest. We run off road in these machines to start with. One day during harvest I can put over 1000 gal in one setting. Yes I can save running it in my trucks hauling to the elevator but my farthest distance is 10 miles. Give us some kinda break on the off road fuel that’s not taxed to start with. I am one of the small farmers in my area some guys are burning 3x what I burn a day. So don’t say he is helping the farmers.

Truckers save 24.4 cents per gallon buy red die diesel avoid federal road tax. Farmers are already able to buy red die diesel for off road use no savings there.

It doesn’t lower diesel prices for farmers. It allows truckers to use lower priced diesel that farmers have always had access to. If it has any impact for farmers, it’ll be that they now can’t get fuel because truckers already used up the farmer’s supplies.

Why is diesel so expensive? What event this year made it skyrocket? Has that event ceased or is there an exit strategy for nullifying it? Who is responsible for this event unfolding the way it has and why would any sane person vote for the person responsible or any of that person’s enablers?

’30 to 50 cents a gallon cheaper’ according to something I read. So,, it goes from around 6 bucks a gallon to 5 and half… Less than 10% cheaper–and that’s just the fuel…not to mention the cost of maintenance, drivers, insurance, vehicle itself…. Yep, that’s better than nothing, but still ain’t cheap enough to really reduce costs for the transportation companies, and therefore, for the rest of us–or the drivers and farmers…

It’s deck chairs on the Titanic time…don’t forget the fact that the $1+ billion “saved” by truckers, which actually goes to highways, bridges, and other critical infratructure maintenance and construction, will need to be paid for from somewhere else…like yer DOGE, tariff, and vote purchase checks…which would be from taxes you paid (note: those checks aint coming, so it’s more tax all around)

It’s like putting a sticker over a crack in a window. If anything, lowering the price at the pump may decrease stockpiles faster causing a bigger problem down the road. Short term relief for long term pain unless a fundamental solution comes soon.

Red dye diesel is cheaper than on road diesel because the red dye is exempt from highway tax. Who’s going to make up the lost tax dollars?
The tanks will be dyed red after the exemption has passed. How will the dept of transportation know if the trucker is using the correct fuel if the tank is red?
Once again the government is going off half cocked with no real plan in place.

You have to find Off road diesel. And many farmers will be harvesting very soon so when all these city folks with their big diesel pickups that have never seen dirt full up with dyed diesel, suddenly the farmers that already got screwed by tarriffs not have to buy higher priced fuel to harvest.

The vast majority of diesel used in farming is already untaxed ie tillage, planting,and harvesting. Of course you already know that.so therefore you are trying to give yourself a pat on the back for leaving crumbs under the table. If you had exhibited a spine, all this grandstanding would be unnecessary?

So he mangles a dumbass war and it raises the price of diesel and then he signs an EO to remove the taxes from diesel 8 months later to lower the prices for 2 months. That means the truckers will still have lost thousands of dollars due to this orange turnip. You Republican representatives that still lick his boots are just embarrassing.
