Congressman Mark Alford
[December 20, 2024]
5 days ’til Christmas, not a lawmaker was resting—not even their spouse.
A CR stalled, a shutdown looms.
Let’s fund defense, aid farms, and protect Americans.
This Christmas, give the people their due: a funded government. America first, & to all, a good night.

The vote:

FINAL VOTE RESULTS FOR ROLL CALL 517
H R 10545 2/3 YEA-AND-NAY 20-Dec-2024 5:59 PM
QUESTION: On Motion to Suspend the Rules and Pass
BILL TITLE: American Relief Act, 2025

Some of the responses:

Hey, all you Alford voters here dependent on disaster relief, farm bill funding, Social Security checks, Medicare, Medicaid, and more. DEMOCRAT LEADER HAKEEM JEFFRIES AND THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY WILL SAVE THE DAY WHEN IT COMES TO KEEPING THE GOVERNMENT OPEN – AGAIN.
THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IN THE HOUSE: WORKING FOR YOU!

We see what you did there.

[….] republicans just cut a measly $190 million for kids’ cancer research. You think they’re NOT going to cut SS? They’re coming for your or your granny’s social security next, PAL. Enjoy your beans and rice 7 days a week.

Wow, how desperate for attention can one man be? Let’s hope some of these paid representatives are actually earning their salaries and working on legislation instead of sound bites.

[….] made a fool of himself with this jingle on the House floor this afternoon.

We The People deserve to know what exactly is in this CR !! We demand transparency and if you voted it in we’re COMING FOR YOUR SEAT ! btw I live in your district

All bills are available online. He already did. You won’t. That doesn’t really matter to him.

A bipartisan agreement killed by an oligarch.
No cutesy rhyme needed.

An incoming president threating, his own party to do his bidding, does this sound like America, or Germany?

In the 1930s.

Talk to President Musk.

President Musk, everyone! [….]

And the DEMOCRATS came through for the PEOPLE again!
Republican infighting will be the ruin of the next Congress- par for the course.

In the end, the Democrats saved the day. The GOP could not have passed the bill on its own. Every member of the Democratic caucus (save one) voted in favor of the CR—which is the only reason the bill passed. (One Democrat voted “present.”)
In contrast, 34 Republicans voted against the bill—which means that Republicans needed Democrats to reach the two-thirds majority to pass the bill under “suspension of the rules.” Indeed, Republicans could not have passed the bill on a simple majority vote even though they hold the majority in the House!

Stop putting all the pork in these bills!

Go ahead, take this one.

Right .. 1)Paying people to DO THEIR JOBS is “pork”? 2)Sending a Rep to DC to represent this state’s “interests”, i.e. bring Fed $ HERE – but everyone ELSE is “pork”??? 3) This was a REPUBLICAN BILL… 4) WHAT “pork”?? – air traffic controllers? paying the troops?? kids with cancer?? — EXACTLY WHAT PORK are you whining about??

Is it A REPUBLICAN BILL OR A DEMOCRATIC BILL CONGRESSMAN!?? PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT IT IF IT’S NOT FOR US!!

So much confusion.

Funny? or Embarrassing.

Shut this down vote NO

Outstanding. What remarkable and lyrical eloquence supporting socialism.

Bah, humbug.

Alford votes to cut kid cancer research and told farmers in Missouri’s 4th to fuck off.
No farm assistance for farmers.
No Social Secuirty for granny.
No cancer treatments for kids.
Merry Christmas from mark alford and president musk.

What is wrong with you

So dum

[December 19, 2024]
On Tuesday, I was angry and fed up with the same DC games.
But YOU, the American people, stepped up.
Your calls and voices helped stop the CR in its tracks.
It’s a Christmas miracle. [….]

How seasonally appropriate. Bah, humbug:

Republicans Cut Child Cancer Research From Funding Bill After Musk’s Meddling
The House GOP has been in a state of chaos after the billionaire led a campaign to kill a bipartisan funding bill

Some of the responses to Eric Burlison (r):

Unelected Elon and not yet president Trump stopped it. That is wrong.

I really hope that the next 4 years aren’t a dumpster fire. Also, you realize that more people voted for “somebody else” than voted for Trump, so that big mandate everyone is talking about doesn’t exist.

Last night, news broke that congressional leaders had struck a bipartisan deal to keep the government from shutting down. The proposed 1,500-page measure extended the farm bill for a year and provided about $100 billion in disaster relief as well as about $10 billion in assistance for farmers. It also raised congressional salaries and kicked the government funding deadline through March 14. It seemed like a last-minute reprieve from a holiday government shutdown.
So you think you deserve a raise but don’t support the farmers in MO.
You shut down the government then you shouldn’t get paid until you take care of your constituents.

“””Oooohh.. Elon Musk re-tweeted me ..!!! “””
Sad!

Donald Trump added more debt on there than anybody.

AND wants to add more by making the 2017 tax cuts permanent.

You are not God’s gift to the planet. Your imagined entitlement is destroying the USA. Funding the government is the minimum job of Congress, and you are happy/celebrating that you cannot do the minimum required of you in your job. You are an embarrassment.

President Musk requires you to kiss his ring, peasant. And you did.

This evening:

Congressman Mark Alford
[December 19, 2024]
Just spoke truth to power on the House floor and the progressive Democrats can’t handle it!
If a shutdown occurs, it will not be a Republican shutdown—this will be a DEMOCRAT SHUTDOWN.
[….]

Oh, really?

House rejects Johnson’s plan B to prevent shutdown
[….]
The measure — which Johnson rolled out hours roughly three hours before the vote — failed to clear the chamber in a 174-235-1 vote, falling short of the two-thirds threshold needed for passage under the fast-track suspension of the rules process.
[….]

Some of the responses to Mark Alford (r):

Mark Alford It Will Be President Trump/Musk’s Shutdown ! Please Pay Attention ! Tell Speaker Johnson To Cut The Pork Out of the Bill “Pay Raise for Congress” ! Congress Doesn’t Deserve a Pay Raise ! ! Congress Deserves a Pay Cut ! !

Who is president now?

Sadly It Looks Like a African Billionaire “Elon Musk” ! [….]

Heh.

I hate to break this to you, but your orange shitstain is personally responsible for well over 35% of that number, and experts have been warning for months that the orange shitstain’s plans will add another $10 Trillion to the debt – and in just a few years. Google it. Read about it. Learn. Catch up with the #FACTS

Bad combover. Check. Too long red tie. Check. Orange spray tan. Check. Tiny hands. Check. Cluelessness. Check…

And the almost only trillionaire in the world is pulling all the puppet strings and making the GOP jump thru his hoops …. so, your point is?

There was a bipartisan bill and that was knocked down because REPUBLICANS do not want compromise. They want it all their way. Well then have it your way. It rests on Republicans. As long as Republicans hold the majority, no one and nothing is safe. Unless it is billionaires.

Shut down killed our business [….]

Why the theatrics?

Hey farmers in the 4th—Mark Alford just took away money from the Farm Bureau because President Musk said you have to suffer. There you go farmers–MARK ALFORD JUST TOLD YOU TO FUCK OFF. Alford only cares about what President Musk wants.

Eight people in the room between your tv clown shows.
You are an absolute embarrassment. You can stand up there and lie all you want. Your so called party is in shambles. Trump is answering to Musk and you are on tv all the time.

Trump sucker Mark

BS President Musk shutdown

Congressman Mark Alford. Democratic shutdown? My ass. You are a very small man telling vrey big lies. Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire. [….]

Actually, it is very, very clear, and has played out on the airwaves, (just like Jan 6th did) showing the entire country exactly who is to blame for this – and this rests completely on the GOP. It’s another shining example of the fact the Republican Party simply cannot govern.

Alford speaks. Hilarity ensues.

But, wait, there’s more:

Congressman Mark Alford
[December 19, 2024]
A picture is worth a thousand words. Today, I proudly voted for President President’s [sic] version of the continuing resolution (CR). This bill keeps the government running, addresses the debt ceiling, extends critical provisions of the Farm Bill, and delivers much-needed disaster relief for our farmers.
For too long, Washington has been plagued by reckless spending and broken promises. President Trump is already proving his commitment to restoring fiscal responsibility and putting the needs of everyday Americans first. This CR is a lifeline for our farmers, who have endured devastating natural disasters and four years of hardship under Biden’s policies.
We stand with President Trump in his fight to end business as usual and ensure that hardworking Americans can thrive in the face of adversity. Together, we’re working to secure a stronger future for our nation.

More responses:

President President’s version of the CR??? So the president has a president.
Looks like you are acknowledging Musk.
It’s become quite obvious, Trump is not going to be in charge. You lied to everyone. You did it again.
How many tv spots do you have lined up for tomorrow????

You like to reference “We”. Are you referring to to the house majority that didn’t pass it?

Good boy per President Musk

Correct me if I’m wrong. This bill did not pass the house correct? The house is Republican majority, correct? How is this a Democrat problem?

Alford never fails to embarrass

Mark Alford (r) [2024 file photo].

“President President”??? Is that Elon Musk’s new name?
Reckless spending like $1600 for water? $120k for office rent in your district? $55k to host Zoom meetings?

Mark Alford (r) [2023 file photo].

What’s faith got to do with it?

Yesterday on social media, from Mark Alford (r):

Congressman Mark Alford
[November 15, 2023]
As I’m sure most of you know, last night, the House of Representatives voted on a continuing resolution that would extend current levels of federal funding through January and February.
While I do support our new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, I could not in good faith support this legislation.
[….]

There was much hilarity in the responses:

Your Party initiated the mess long before this extension.
You can’t govern when the Party in Majority can’t get their act together and get their job done!
Quit making excuses for your failing Party .
Once again, the Democrats come through for their Constituents.

again, not thinking this through, but you’re a college dropout and a former Faux Spews local anchor! That says it all. Your no vote would have delayed funds for Israel, delayed salaries for border employees, delayed salaries for FAA employees during Thanksgiving and on and on! Here’s a tip Marky! Raise the corporate tax rate and wealthy tax brackets to get more revenue into the system? Don’t you think lowering the corporate tax rate from 35% to 21% permanently wasn’t a smart move Marky?

Hey…

May I ask which programs you recommended cutting and by how much as part of your committee assignments (defense, agriculture, and small business)? The salami slice percentage funding cuts discussed as part of the continuing resolution process are the least effective way to cut budgets.

You mean roll back the Bush and Trump tax cuts for the rich?
We dont have a spending problem. We have a rich dont pay their taxes problem.

Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! If the Republicans would quit giving tax breaks to the wealthy, paying for wars on a credit card, putting tariffs on imports, and then bailing out farmers because the tariff war hurt the farmers’ income,
the deficit would be considerably smaller if not erased altogether.
But hey, let’s shut the government because of your party’s failures.

The GOP has put into spending bills amendments to reduce pay of 3 Biden Admin officials to $1.
All 3 are LGBT.
What next LGBT people will have to wear pink stars?

“…Man, that’s just mean. That’s mean, man.,,,”

Some sent you to congress to use common sense and to do what is beneficial to the country. You can’t just shut down the country as the world leader with two main wars going on and so many needs of our country. Please compromise and not side with the ultra right wing of the Republican Party. They, along with Trump are trying to destroy our country by lies, deceit, and false narrative that Democrats are socialist
I could hardly believe what I saw happen on January 6,2021. This just doesn’t happen in USA, I thought.

Partisan Hack. Missouri deserves better.

So let me get this straight. The GOP got rid of their Speaker, Kevin McCarthy, because he dared push through a continuing resolution on the budget with the help of mostly Democrats. So after cycling through four possible other leaders, they pick a guy with zero experience and tons of skeletons, who then proposes and pushes through…a continuing resolution on the budget with the help of mostly Democrats. Genius.

the first thing that should be done is to pass the bill to tax the extremely wealthy so that they pay their fair share. Then vote against defunding the IRS so that they can continue to collect money from the tax cheats. The finding for the IRS pays for itself 3 fold!

So you favor unpaid border patrol agents?

just look at how your republican party is functioning together. They act like morons fighting each other.

Tell us you don’t understand math and honoring commitments without telling us.
How much debt was run up and remains due and payable from trump, tax cuts and losses incurred because of a poor response to a pandemic? How much time have republicans wasted by Not putting forth an Immigration policy overhaul? How much will continue to rack up at increased interests because of republicans infighting, kidney punching, go no where investigations, loss of Military advancements because of one wacko, and costly repairs to diplomatic relationships and busted trade agreements by trump and republicans?

On Monday, from Mark Alford (r):

Congressman Mark Alford
November 13 at 4:20 PM
We were so excited to be back in Raymore today for Mondays with Mark. We are always happy to discuss the things that matter most to you!
[….]

There was much hilarity in the responses:

How about talking about Trump’s Nazi rhetoric?

Rump doesn’t respect the military. Why do you support him Mark?

Congressman Mark Alford maybe next Monday you can talk about how Jenna Ellis just cooked your idol Don the Con’s goose? How about you getting spending bills passed? [….]

How bout you go back to work and pass a spending bill

Alford voted against it. [….]

Chalk one up for chaos.

Did any of your visitors have a budget proposal for you, perhaps? Someone needs to do the work and it doesn’t appear as though you’re the right person for the job.

maybe next time, y’all can elect someone who knows how to prepare an actual budget and not risk a government shut down?

Rescinding the Trump tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations and clawing back PPP funds (or at least making them taxable) would be good first steps to balancing the budget.

So Alford demonstrates how he is working for 4th District constituents by waving around the letter he wrote to FEMA regarding hospital reimbursements and follows it up by voting against the CR that would fund the FEMA payroll for the FEMA workers who would process the reimbursements.
A real smart feller!

you were one of the 95 that would rather see the Government have a shutdown right before Thanksgiving? 336 voted to pass the stopgap bill, but you’d rather side with Boebert, Gaetz, Greene and other wackos? Even Scalise and your recent guest Scott voted in favor of the bill! You’re a disgrace to the US Congress! [….]

This shows just how incompetent our representative is. Encountered means the CBP is doing their job. Alford’s continual bashing of our CBP agents is unacceptable. These agents put their lives on the line every day while Mark Alford posts on Twitter and Facebook , does TV, radio, and his little YouTube shows. The Govt shuts down the 17th and this is what our tax dollars is doing. Notice his little repost of him getting thanked for doing more media BS.

You forgot to mention his letters.

of course. How could I forget the strongly worded letters!!

That paper is sharp! The way he waves it around with such fury and flourish, someone’s gonna get a paper cut from it!

Did you see any “Vermin” there? Are Vermin allowed to voice their opinion? How do you feel about the rhetoric spurting out if it’s mouth?

Trump is literally quoting Hitler and Mark Alford remains silent.

Maybe Alford could write a letter.

There you go.
