One of the responses:

That’s appalling. Have you read the House Committee report — written and endorsed, as you well know, by many members of the GOP?

Ann Wagner, Donald Trump, Doug Libla, Eic Greitens, Gary Romine, Rob Schaaf, Sex scandal

Are Republicans cynical, confused, or just outright hypocrites?

Cynical: The White House spokespeople, folks who work for Donald Trump, P****-grabber and sexual predator extraordinaire, who are claiming that they find the abuse allegations against the Missouri Governor, who is, compared to Trump, a junior-grade sexual predator, “very concerning.”

Confused: The three Missouri legislators, Republican Senators. Rob Schaaf, Doug Libla and Gary Romine, who are appealing to the same White House predator – who will never in a thousand years resign himself – to force Greitens to go gently into the looming political night. I guess our state-level pols just haven’t been paying attention. Read their letter – except for the parts that glorify Geitens’ Navy SEAL past, it could be describing the antics that have been imputed to the Orange Buffoon himself. Of course, the fool in the White House could end up doing just about anything, depending on the state of his “gut,” so maybe their gambit will pay off.

Outright hypocrite: Then, finally there’s the case of Rep. Ann Wagner (R-2). Wagner couldn’t wait to declare that when it comes to Greitens, she is “disgusted,” and asserts that he “is unfit to lead our state.” But I’m betting that a few of you remember when, in the wake of the Access Hollywood tape, she called on Trump to withdraw and labeled him “predatory and reprehensible.” Didn’t take her too long to reverse herself, though, when she realized which way the wind was blowing among the crazy reds in the Missouri GOP base. Nor is it surprising that she’s spent the last year kissing up to the Orange Buffoon who has showered her financial industry patrons with goodies. So much for her country-club rectitude.

Don’t ever doubt that our Annie will do whatever it takes when it comes to going along to get along. So we’ll wait and see if Greitens manages to hang on whether or not, in the end, all will be forgiven.

Senator Denny Hoskins (r-21) issued the following press release today:

State Senator Denny Hoskins
District 21
For Immediate Release:
April 12, 2018

Capitol Building, Room 227
Jefferson City, MO 65101
[….]

Statement from Sen. Denny Hoskins Regarding the Findings of the House Special Investigative Committee Report

JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Denny Hoskins, R-Warrensburg, today issued the following statement relating to findings released by the House Special Investigative Committee Report:

“First of all, I feel sorry for the lady involved, her family and the first lady. None of them deserved or wanted any of this.

That being said, I wholeheartedly support the efforts of House leadership as well as the report issued by the House Special Investigative Committee and its policies and procedures used during its investigative process. I previously served alongside many members of House leadership as speaker pro tem, and I know each of them to be individuals of the highest integrity. I also have the utmost respect for each member of the committee, and I support their continued investigation. This is a serious matter, and it is anything but a political witch hunt.

While I’m still trying to wrap my mind around the disgusting content included in the report, at the end of the day, I want to be able to look my 11-year-old daughter in the eyes when she asks about the governor, tell her I love her and tell her this type of behavior is not okay for someone to do to her or anyone else. I will tell her not to let anyone bully her or touch her without her consent. I will reaffirm to her that she is a strong, smart young lady and she deserves better treatment than what was described in the report. Whomever she dates or marries one day, they should treat her with dignity and respect. She and all women deserve to be treated with nothing less.

With that being said, I now believe the House has sufficient information to pursue Articles of Impeachment. Missourians deserve a leader with strong moral character. The acts described in the report are appalling and bring up more questions about his ability to lead. I’m asking the House to evaluate all of the information they have received and pursue Articles of Impeachment.”

Eric Greitens (r) [2016 file photo].

Just go away.

Look, you can afford to walk away. One of those billionaires you know could be good for any right wingnut welfare you’d get for being on the letterhead and not showing up at your office at a cleverly named D.C. beltway propaganda concern.

Instead, be with your family. Tinker in your garden. Work out (it’ll make you feel better). Write a book about your experience. It’ll sell. Your base will plunk down good cash for something like that. Make motivational speeches. There’ll be a market for your individual, though not quite uncommon, perspective. Even if you end up serving time.

What you shouldn’t do is feel entitled to remain as Governor of Missouri. We read the report [pdf]. Oh yes, it’s credible. Five Republicans and two Democrats on the Missouri House Special Investigative Committee on Oversight heard the testimony, reviewed the documents and evidence, wrote the report, and signed it.

We read the report. No person should treat another that way. Ever.

Just go away. But, you won’t, will you? Because you’re that much of an arrogant narcissist. Which is what got you into this trouble in the first place.

As an obvious understatement we would call that a disqualifying character flaw.

You probably still believe that you’ll be president. The sad thing for everyone else is that you’re probably right. The bar is so low these days.

Ladies and gentlemen, Eric Greitens (r), the Governor of Missouri:

Eric Greitens (r) [2016 file photo].

There were five Republicans and two Democrats on the committee.

REPORT OF THE MISSOURI HOUSE
SPECIAL INVESTGATIVE COMMIITTEE ON OVERSIGHT
[pdf]

[….]

SENSITVE CONTENT WARNING

This report contains content of a sensitive and sexual nature…

[….]

FINDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE
A. Conduct in Relation to Witness 1
Based on the testimony and evidence received by the Committee to date, the Committee finds reason to believe the following:

1. The Committee finds Witness 1 to be an overall credible witness.

2. Witness 2, a confidant of Witness 1, testified she has known Witness 1 for ten
years.2

3. Witness 3 authenticated a surreptitious recording of a conversation with Witness 1 that took place on March 25, 2015, approximately four days after Witness 1’s sexual encounter with Greitens.

4. Witness 4, a confidant of Witness 1, testified that she has known Witness 1 for thirty years, dating back to elementary school.3

5. Greitens declined the opportunity to testify and failed to respond to the Committee’s request for production of documents and sworn answers to written interrogatories.4 The Committee notes that Greitens has the constitutional right to so decline, and that the Committee has treated this process as if he also has the right to testify at this point in time.

[….]

35. Witness 1 testified that Greitens then said, “You’re not going to mention my name. Don’t even mention my name to anybody at all, because if you do, I’m going to take these pictures, and I’m going to put them everywhere I can. They are going to be everywhere, and then everyone will know what a little whore you are.”39

36. Witness 1 explained her reaction:

I just stood there, because I was like What the fuck? He doesn’t have feelings for me, he just wants to fuck me. So anyways, I was completely silent. I didn’t say anything, especially – so I didn’t even – my husband traveled for a living, and I didn’t even let him get pictures of me. So I just stood there quietly, and then he came up close to me and he said, Are you going to say anything? Are you going to mention my name? Of course, in my head, I was screaming, Fuck, all I want to do is tell people right now. I’m dying. This is the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to me. So I just didn’t answer at all, and then he spanked me and said, Are you going to mention my name? And I said – I just gritted through my teeth and I said, No. And he’s like Good – now that’s a good girl and was, like, back in his – whatever – you know, the thing that he had in his mind, the thing that he was going to do with me.40

37. Witness 1 testified that Greitens began kissing down her stomach again, and “as soon as he got, like, low on me, I just started freaking out and I started ripping down my hands. I was like, Get me out of here. I’m not ready for this. I don’t want this. I don’t want this.”41

[….]

Read all of the documents. Some old media (television) in the Kansas City media market are already doing a both siderism he said/she said schtick.

“…The Committee finds Witness 1 to be an overall credible witness…”

“…Greitens declined the opportunity to testify and failed to respond to the Committee’s request for production of documents and sworn answers to written interrogatories. The Committee notes that Greitens has the constitutional right to so decline, and that the Committee has treated this process as if he also has the right to testify at this point in time…”

Want to bet whether this report in it’s entirety is going to become a campaign literature drop in every state Senate or House district with an incumbent who refuses to act or continues to enable him?
