Today:

Rep. Vicky Hartzler @RepHartzler
Experts have long urged schools to #SafelyReopen for our children, but Dr. Fauci is now moving the goalposts.

With over $60 billion for schools still left unspent from previous COVID relief packages, are we listening to science or politics?

As always, there’s much hilarity in the comments:

I absolutely hate it when science continues to move the goalposts as new data is made available. I want to go back to a time when Earth was the center of the universe and blood letting was a common practice.

Let’s make vaccinating teachers in Missouri a priority. What can you do for 4th District teachers? Step up to the plate and do something.

Unfortunately our esteemed Representative doesn’t really care about this issue. She seems to be completely oblivious to the fact schools in her district have been opened since August.

You are just misinterpreting the guidelines like so many others politicians , the facts are and haven’t changed whether schools can open fully depends on virus spread in the community and the schools ability to meet mitigation requirements.

No, Vicky, science is at work. We on the Left believe in science. We know that as new information is derived via the scientific method, plans change to reflect the new data. Now, PLEASE stop politicizing the pandemic!

Most of the things that need to be done in order to safely reopen could be accomplished, but many of them would take time. You can order PPE and tech quickly, but ventilation and cramped classrooms won’t be solved so fast.

Prioritize vaccinating teachers should be your message. Followed directly by vaccinating library workers. Quit playing political games and get to work to help your state.

Do you have a brain or do you just do what your GQP handlers tell you to do?

We see what you did there.

We listen to facts and science unlike the MO GOP.

You only listen to politics. So I know better than to listen to you.

The Trump Party Doesn’t believe in Science.

Dr. Fauci is an expert. YOU are not. Why are you so surprised goalposts are moving?? Virus with new variants that has the entire world stumped and trying new things. I would be shocked if goalposts were NOT moved. Follow the damn science. Which is why we are in this situation!

Bullshit. He isn’t moving anything. He has ALWAYS said as long as it can be done safely. SCHOOLS NEED THOSE FUNDS TO DO SO. Stop the lying. It’s tired.

What experts? Provide your source?!

Yet, you seem to be completely unaware that most schools in your home district are in fact open. You also don’t seem to care that the teaching and support staffs of those schools continue to show up every day without being vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.

Was it science or politics that drive your party to consider masks as unconstitutional? Because that line of thinking killed hundreds of thousands of hard working Americans. The @housegop is the party of contradiction, partisanship, and division

You’re an idiot.

We’ll leave it at that.
