Usually, members of BOTH PARTIES (known as the Gang of Eight) are notified, regardless of party affiliation, BEFORE the president orders any major military actions.
By not briefing top Democrats, or asking for their opinions, Trump made the escalation with Iran an extremely partisan issue, and an extremely unconstitutional act.

By not involving the Democrats he eliminated the leaks that ALWAYS try to derail EVERYTHING President Trump does. He is to be praised for this. Great decision President Trump👍

The painful irony is, when we went into Iraq one of our goals was to create a democratically elected government to bring stability to the Middle East, if we hadn’t fucked it up in the first place in 1953 we might’ve been there already!
It is our choices as a nation that inflames and aggravates the conflicts in this region.
American politicians using the pretense of threats from Iran to distract the American people from the reality of the situation, and our wrongful acts as a nation have a long history.
maybe, just maybe, if we had a leader with the courage to admit what we did to cause this situation, we could begin the effort to heal the damage and create a better future instead of a permanent state of conflict with Iran.
