Donald Trump (r) wants to burn it all down, apparently.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran. Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn’t compare to American made, conceived, and manufactured “stuff.” Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA.

We know exactly where the so-called “Supreme Leader” is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

4th Congressional District, Belton, former newsreader, Mark Alford, missouri, right wingnut, that ridiculous hat, town hall

Mark Alford (r) [2024 file photo].

Mark Alford (r) held a ticketed town hall in Belton, Missouri yesterday evening. It was apparently moderated by Steve Kraske (KCUR).

KCTV5 News Kansas City
[June 16, 2025]
It was a split crowd at a town hall on Monday with Missouri Congressman Mark Alford.
[….]

Some of the responses to KCTV5:

“The conservatives got me into office, so that’s all I’m going to listen to.” – MAGA Mark Alford Congressman Mark Alford

He is scared

MAGA MARK. what a joke

Just another ring kisser Trump puppet.

He made time for photo ops of course and spewed the same old BS and praised the BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL, that CUTS NPR and PBS , Medicaid, SNAP plus supports all the jobs that have been terminated by his orange GOD, wannabe !

An individual’s post on social media:

Seems like every damn day I’m making Good Trouble. Tonight it was Mark “Awful” Alford…another 90 minutes of mostly lies, obfuscation, and Republican buzz phrases that I will never get back in my life. My favorite Alford quote? When asked about the disconnect between him voting against NPR/PBS funding and that the local NPR station was hosting this “town hall”, Mark stated that it was time for Big Bird to grow up, and when he was watching Sesame Street, they taught the ABC’s, not the DEI. Oscar the Grouch was not pleased.[….]

KCUR:

KCUR 89.3
[June 16, 2025]
Missouri Congressman Mark Alford was met by a large crowd of constituents — and protesters — at a town hall tonight in Belton, Missouri, hosted by KCUR 89.3 and Up To Date’s Steve Kraske.
Alford answered audience questions about tax cuts, tariffs, ICE and immigration, small businesses, veterans and more. Hear the full conversation on Up To Date later this week.
[….]

Some of the responses:

And, he said he wants Big Bird to get out of the basement.

what does that even mean? 🤣

Hi KCUR 89.3 small correction, the protestors are his constituents too!

Nice job to the protesters!

Well, at least he showed up … and he actually lives IN Missouri.

I doubt he ever watched one public television program in his life.

“Audience questions” from a carefully selected audience guaranteed not to expect much, perhaps?

yes, the tickets were sold so quickly and to so few. Little suspicious to me. Can’t wait to hear it. I have my doubts about the range of questions, but I’m sure he’ll have his “prepared”, parroted, MAGA answers all ready to go.

KCUR 89.3- disappointed you said “constituents and protesters “ What makes you think the protesters were not constituents? Choosing a tiny venue allows you to select your indoor audience rather than addressing ALL constituents who wish to speak.

and there were more constituents outside than inside.

The community center in Belton, the location of the town hall, is a big space. It appears from the photo of the crowd on the KCUR post that seating area was limited to a smaller part of the venue and that it would have been possible to accommodate more people.

I find it very ironic that he’s appearing at an event sponsored by a radio station he wants to get rid of.

Grow a spine Alford. Open your eyes. You are part of the problem.

After all those years of bs on tv y’all still elected him and how y’all like him now?

If the folks with the signs would have been in the room, I GUARANTEE he would have been condescending and mocking. He’s just like Hawley, just like Joni Ernst, and just like the rest of them – ignoring those with genuine concerns while pandering to his base.

Be sure to listen to the KCUR stream, so you can hear him disparage every Missourian who isn’t a MAGA. He only represents them…even though we all pay his salary with our taxes.

yea with local police, State Police, Special Security and oh, don’t forget the DRONE Much needed 🤣🙄🙄Yea, he’s brave 🤡🤡

He’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.

He doesn’t represent his constituents. I sent him a message weeks ago via his website expressing my displeasure with what’s happening to our country and his absolute silence when the national guard was federalized and Marines used on US soil which is absolutely not in line with states rights or fiscal responsibility.
Crickets.
He’s unfit for office.

Congressman Mark Alford is a kept man who pushes lies and misinformation. It’s a pretty low bar to give him kudos for simply doing part of his job. Although I guess the bare minimum is all a Republican will do, beyond throwing children, vetrtans, and the elderly off of Medicaid, Medicare, & SSI so they can give more money to their billionaire owners.

As a man once of the “unbiased” media, Mark should know well that his hard line views now don’t represent extreme right wing agenda.

Puppet.

He isn’t going to do anything. He is just as worried about his money as the rest of rich in this country. They don’t care about you. They only care about keeping their hefty bank accounts and they don’t care who they starve to death or take the healthcare from. Bottom line. They would rather see people die and starve then let a poor or old person live in dignity. The only money the rich is worried about is their own.

I watched it on YouTube. He lied, lied and lied some more. Oh, and he’s not an expert on taxes, USAID, Medicaid, VA Healthcare, why ICE needs masks and a pandemic is a joke, and women’s health, well he just don’t understand. Hes pathetic. He needs to go back to faux news.

It was by invitation only. KCUR, i’ve called this man’s office numerous times, and only get the same scripted reply basically saying that he doesn’t want to work with the Democrats and it’s just it’s that plain. He has no interest in working for the betterment of citizens of the state, he’s a full-blown Trumper and willing to put our democracy up for sale.

Kudos to HIS CONSTITUENTS WHO ARE PROTESTING HIM because he is doing such a terrible job and refusing to represent all in this state. He needs to follow the Constitution And Rule Of Law instead of just his cult leader.

Alfird is a clown. He doesnt know what he’s doing. He’s a misogynist piece of shit. I say this having had multiple in person experiences with him in his news days. He was terrible at the news, why did anyone think he’d be a good congressman.

Republican congressmen don’t represent their constituents. They represent Trump. Everything they do is at Trump’s beck and call. They are all cowards and are afraid to stand up to him.

What gets me is rich republicans want to say that our economy is in such trouble. What they don’t say is, they are not worried about us or whether we have medical or enough to eat, they are only worried about themself and they don’t want their large bank accounts dropping and they don’t want to live in the same manner that they are forcing the old poor and sick in America. If the economy crashes, they will get to join us and see exactly what they did to us. And that especially goes for the top billionaires. Their fear doesn’t seem to me to come from the state of the overall economy. Their fear is that if it all goes south with the economy, they will have to join the rest of us and live day to day instead of controlling us. People need to wake up and let the chips fall where they may and if we can’t survive, then let them go under too. Just saying that’s my opinion because they aren’t worried about anyone but themself or they wouldn’t be cutting Medicare and Medicaid and world aid and killing the poor by starving them. They would be taking some of their greedy money and helping those in need.

Why weren’t the people outside protesting against him…be able to go inside??

Idk if this is right spot to post this but there’s going to be Anti Trump protests happening nationwide Saturday and one is IN warrensburg! Is there any motor cycle or truck groups that’d want to park in front of our towns business on the main strip to help protect them and fly US flags?? These people are being bussed in from out of town to protest and one of the sponsors is BLM. Between what’s currently happening and prior protests, I’m concerned bout them destroying property and hurting people.
[….]

There have been at least four large rallies and/or marches in the same location since January.

The responses are educational:

They are blaming the wrong president. President Biden is the one who lied to these people by telling them to ignore our laws and come on in. President Trump is only enforcing the existing laws.

They literally stated they are doing this because Trump is having a military parade for FLAG day and it just so happens to be Trump’s Bday too!

I’m really hoping that this group decides our town is too small and goes to the city or better yet stays put of Missouri all together.

I also bet that it won’t be peaceful by the time they get here…. I’m keep an eye when they are in lees summit

Well, Lee’s Summit can do that to some people…

yeah I head they’re ginna bus protesters in so It could get violent I hope the local organizations that invited thos group are ready for the backlash if damage is done to our town.

No, really, you’ve already done enough yourself.

I’m going to be hanging out with the Trump Store Ladies tommorow and we will celebrate Flag Day if y’all wanna join! Bring your lunch n we will listen to music

Yes, there actually is one in town.

Is there a place we are meeting to arrange where we stand? I’d be in favor of trying to protect our local shops as much as possible.

Oh, FFS.

Stay awake in school, kids.

Spoiler Alert: On June 14th in Warrensburg a bunch of people gathered on the Johnson County Courthouse lawn, celebrated the First Amendment, waved American flags, listened to speeches, then, after an hour and a half, they all went home.

The Clinton, Missouri “No Kings” march (I’m now seeing a reported head count of around 180) was completely organized by a self-organized group of people who are not the usual activist suspects. The march was scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. It was sunny, with the temperature in the high 80s.

In April, their first march: March – Clinton, Missouri – April 26, 2025 (April 27, 2025)

I can’t overemphasize how good they are. Before the march they signed in participants at their starting location. They’ve pulled in/included young and old. They planned for every detail, passed out straightforward written instructions (“rules”, de-escalation, rights, route), and arranged for an escort by the Clinton Police Department (albeit a single officer). They had an individual pulling a cart in the march for any trash, so that no one could later complain. There were no issues.

The Clinton march organizers had a post-march picnic, grilled hotdogs and and hamburgers, side dishes and desserts to pass, in a celebration of Pride. I had a nice conversation with a charming and bright 96-year-old Clinton resident at the picnic. She grew up during the depression, her late husband had been through all of the European battles in WW II. I asked her if this was the worst time she had witnessed in her lifetime. “Oh, yes, absolutely, this is the worst.”

Going over de-escalation and the march route:

“Fighting MAGA misinformation one unpaid protest at a time”

“Diversity equals Strength”

“Fuck Trump”

“Patriot protesting pro bono”

“No King”

“Respect Existence or Expect Resistance”

When cruelty becomes normal, compassion becomes radical”

“Are we great yet?”

“My first protest in seventy-five years”

“Now you’ve done it, you pissed off grandma”

Staging for a pair of MAGA SUVS, apparently to cruise the car show on the town square or something:

The Warrensburg, Missouri “No Kings” demonstration was scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. downtown on the lawn of the Johnson County Courthouse. We arrived on the lawn about 30 minutes before the official start. By the end of the rally there were approximately 500 in attendance, with people with signs facing Holden Street. The sky was sunny, the temperature was in the 80s, with many seeking the shade.

There was no march (it was too hot), there were speeches. There was no sound system.

There were several Warrensburg Police officers keeping watch. There was a significant amount of supportive horn honking from passing vehicles. There was one passing “smoker” truck displaying the frustration of an owner who was probably upside down on his payments.

“The Constitution is not a suggestion”

“Resist!”

“We have a Constitution, not a king”

“No Kings or tyrants in America!”

On Saturday hundreds of thousands of Americans will take to the streets across the country to protest the travesty which is the second Trump Administration. You can find a location near you via No Kings. At last word there were close to 2000 scheduled events.

The “No Kings” event in Warrensburg, Missouri will start at 1:00 p.m. downtown at the Johnson County Courthouse.

Yesterday:

Johnson County Missouri Democratic Central Committee

STATEMENT FOR PUBLIC RELEASE – JUNE 12 2025

Protests – Exercising your rights and staying safe

The protests in Los Angeles for the past several days and those anticipated nationwide this weekend, Saturday June 14, raise our awareness of First Amendment speech, personal constitutional rights and the role of the government(s) – national, state and local – to maintain law and order.

First, the JoCo Democratic Central Committee believes that the protests which have occurred in west central Missouri are vitally important to draw attention to the conduct of those who continue to ignore the rule of law, especially related to immigrants. We have participated in these events, gratefully exercising one of our most fundamental rights – the right to speak our minds even if critical of government action.

Second, America was and is made better by the vast majority of immigrants — and all of us, except Native Americans—descend from immigrant ancestors. Our diversity for 250 plus years has made the U.S. (to quote a former President of the other party), a “shining city on a hill” for the rest of the world.

Protesting is good and sometimes necessary, just like our founders believed.

Breaking the law and/or engaging in violence is wrong and distracts from the message we are trying to send the American people—that message: You can and should stand up for your own rights and that of other people in this country.

This weekend, if you choose to protest – and please do -, please be aware of your surroundings to keep yourself and your cherished friends safe while protesting. Show respect not only for those whose rights are at issue, but also for law enforcement – they have a job to do too and need your cooperation to do it.

We will participate in a peaceful protest at 1 pm on the 14 June at the Johnson County Courthouse, 300 N. Holden Street in Warrensburg.

Finally, remember our fellow Americans in Los Angeles and support them in whatever lawful way you choose —as we hope and try to avoid major violence there, in other major American cities and in our own backyard this summer. Stay strong and be safe.

Hawley Introduces Trump-Backed Legislation to Increase Penalties for Criminal Flag Burners
Thursday, June 12, 2025

Today, U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) introduced the Enhanced Penalties for Criminal Flag Burners Act, which would enact sentencing enhancements for individuals who burn the American flag in the course of committing a federal offense. Just this week, President Trump called on Congress to support Senator Hawley’s bill and send it to his desk. Senator Hawley is currently circulating the bill and inviting other Senators to join. Senators Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) are co-sponsoring the legislation.

“Committing a crime is not protected under the First Amendment. If you are putting people and property in danger and burning our flag in the process, you should serve extra time in prison,” said Senator Hawley. “I encourage all of my Republican colleagues to join President Trump in supporting this legislation. It’s time to restore law and order in America and demand our flag be treated with respect.”

Rioters continue to escalate violence and set fires in major cities putting the public in danger, attacking federal buildings and destroying property. Their goal is violence—not speech, and these crimes are not protected behavior.

The recent Los Angeles riots have featured a host of criminal activity—assaults on law enforcement, vandalism, theft, and more. Hundreds have been arrested. And during the commission of these crimes, many rioters have burned the American flag. This is arson masquerading as expression.

If signed into law, the Enhanced Penalties for Criminal Flag Burners Act would:

Ensure that criminals who burn flags to further their criminal schemes serve an extra year in prison
Recognize the danger to people and property posed by criminals who burn flags while committing federal crimes
[….]

###

“…Committing a crime is not protected under the First Amendment. If you are putting people and property in danger and burning our flag in the process, you should serve extra time in prison…”

However, apparently, supporting insurrectionists who assaulted law enforcement at the Capitol on January 6, 2021 is perfectly okay. Right, fist pumper?

Ironic.
