The responses are priceless:

Well if THIS doesn’t lock up that Senate nomination then frankly what else possibly could?

Missouri. I rest my case.

Vicky, don’t forget about that pesky Ninth Commandment. Oh, let me help you remember: Exodus 20:16 — “Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Neighbor.”

Fuel prices are dropping, shelves are stocked, Xmas shopping done. Hot damn, life is good!!!!

Put Christ back in your Christmas and love your neighbor as He loved the Church. Then, your Christmas will be just fine.

And you’re in Congress??

wow…

Missouri.

Totally not a cult

Bad combover. Check. Too long red tie. Check. Orange spray tan. Check. Tiny hands. Check. Cluelessness. Check…

Well.

At least you aren’t even pretending to care about Jesus anymore.

HO HO HO! At least you are working hard on priorities… [….]

I would rather have a man of faith than a criminal, serial adultery, lying, cheating insurrectionist.

It’s ruined because you are an elected politician and a trumper. I’d rather have Greiten than you and I can’t stand him

That’s a lot to unpack there.

I guess you live in outer space, because in my part of the US, there is no shortage of anything – nice try though. [….]

Do some work for your constituents instead of this crap. What a joke.

You make our state look like a veritable clown car of inbred morons.

GFY, Vick.

This childish, moronic tweet appeals to Rep.Hartzler’s base. No substance, no governance, Hartzler simply panders to low information voters.

‘Tis the season.

The call is coming from inside the house

Petition, religion, war on christmas, White House

In the United States Constitution:

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof….

A new petition at the White House site:

We petition the Obama Administration to:

Keep The Words, “IN GOD WE TRUST” On All American Currency

America is a God-fearing Christian nation; it is now and always has been. I encourage all true Americans to stand up and do what is right. These kind of changes must be stopped before Obama does more damage. This is a stepping stone in the wrong direction and will only lead to much worse things. We have already lost Christmas in this country, soon we could lose our churches and Bibles too. It is a slippery slope my friends. This administration must be stopped at all costs. Keep the words ‘In God We Trust’ on all American currency!

Created: May 23, 2014

Issues: Budget and Taxes, Civil Rights and Liberties, Economy

Signatures needed by June 22, 2014 to reach goal of 100,000 99,780

Total signatures on this petition 220

[emphasis added]

“…I encourage all true Americans to stand up and do what is right…”

Apparently no true Scotsman puts sugar on his porridge either.

A persecution complex with sides of paranoia and entitlement. Fancy that.

Rep. Vicky Hartzler (r): frankly, the importance of being Vicky (December 20, 2011)

Oh, Happy Holidays!

Rep. Vicky Hartzler ‏@RepHartzler

Good news: The House Administration Comm. reversed it’s Scrooge prohibition from Members communicating “Merry Christmas” in a letter. 10:53 AM – 11 Dec 13

Actually, you could always send a letter wishing anyone “Merry Christmas”, as long as you paid for it and it was in your own name. Now it can be at taxpayer expense, right?

Scrooge? Scrooge? I do remember something about a Scrooge character. Oh, yes:

“At this festive season of the year, Mr Scrooge, … it is more than usually desirable that we should make some slight provision for the Poor and destitute, who suffer greatly at the present time. Many thousands are in want of common necessaries; hundreds of thousands are in want of common comforts, sir.”

“Are there no prisons?”

“Plenty of prisons…”

“And the Union workhouses.” demanded Scrooge. “Are they still in operation?”

“Both very busy, sir…”

“Those who are badly off must go there.”

“Many can’t go there; and many would rather die.”

“If they would rather die,” said Scrooge, “they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.”

See, they didn’t see a need for Obamacare either! On the same page, eh?

A bah, humbug reply on form over substance?:

Caleb-Michael Files ‏@cmichaelfiles

@RepHartzler I hope you don’t send me a letter wishing me a Merry Christmas. 10:57 AM – 11 Dec 13

Heh. In four minutes, no less.
