Sadly, yes.

Mark Alford (r) [2024 file photo].

Today:

Congressman Mark Alford
[April 28, 2026]

🚨 Enough is enough. What happened this weekend should shake every American.
A secure White House ballroom is a necessary step forward:
[…]

“Folks, security isn’t a talking point—it’s a responsibility. When threats against our leaders, especially the President of the United States, are rising, we don’t get the luxury of delay or debate for the sake of optics. Building a secure White House Ballroom isn’t about prestige. It’s about preparedness. In this moment, action isn’t optional. It’s overdue!,” said RSC Messaging Task Force Chair Mark Alford (MO-04).

Some of the responses:

We have a mass shootings every couple of days. The violence and violent language has been growing in polotics for decades.
It is not one sided. Denounce it on the GOP side first then denounce across the board. Stop doing it yourself and work on publicly getting along with the democrats.
How many joint appearances have you had with congressman Cleaver?

This is a stupid idea. Donnie, even though he can’t, should delegate stuff like SECURITY to those that would have made a bunch of his appearances safer for all without a bunker/hall at the white house. much cheaper.

Spend, Spend, Spend and keep spending and wasting tax payer dollars on wars, ballrooms and lining a certain family’s pockets. You weren’t great on tv and your worse in congress!

Based on your statement I assume a bill strengthening security at public schools will be forthcoming from your office?

He has no problem playing golf out in the open after a previous “attempt”. So why is the ballroom so important?

Good little parrot [….]

So, it went from no tax payer money to tax payers are paying for it. Screw that ballroom.

What about when the president threatens us? What do we do then?

So is he going to hunker down in his ballroom and stay off the golf course? Cause he golfs every weekend, which doesn’t seem too secure to me. BTW, I think maybe putting some energy and thought into helping the American people might be in order instead of bowing to his every wish. 😡

Has Mexico paid for the wall yet?

Have some more kool aid

You know what was secure? The East Wing of the White House.

Huh? They weren’t at the White House.

How are those kneepads working for ya?

Will his indoor golf course be inside the ballroom too?

And what should we do to protect our school children?

I see you are in on the group texts giving you your talking points.
Maybe you should listen to your constituents instead. We are the ones you represent; not the greedy, narcissistic pres

Wow Mark!
I think it’s an absolutely amazing idea to build a ballroom in every single school in this country. I agree it’s very important to keep American safe. Oh wait… I thought this post was about gun violence. It turns out this is just more propaganda. smh

Cool. Now do schools!

And every school in America should receive the same.

That is just garbage.

I love this, the new Republican talking point is “ballroom security”

you cannot make this up. Anything to deflect.

Build a ballroom in every city in the country, in the off chance the king visits.

“No Kings”

Oh Mark
Will you come build and protect my classroom? Didn’t think so

Look everyone-the newscaster speaks! 🖕😂🖕

Hey weren’t you just clucking about the government having a spending problem? Nothing screams wasteful spending like an unnecessary ballroom.

it’s necessary for him to say they need one so he can kiss Trumps ass.

It would never host a private event…plot cheer boy

Trump said his friends were donating the money foe his ballroom and no taxpayer’s money would be used. What happened? The event was not a Whitehouse event, right?

that’s right.. the WHCA would have no right to hold a private event there. The donors have all signed deals which keeps them anonymous. This is not acceptable. It’s a forum for bribery and eveyone, including this jackass knows it.

How does a ballroom make everyone feel safe?

it makes the master happy, which makes Alford happy.

Can the president play golf in this ballroom? That would save taxpayers a lot of money (140 million spent on golf trips so far this term). Is it big enough for UFC fights or super bowls since he attends those events? Will all private events he attends in the country now be held in this ballroom? Like his fundraisers and crypto bros?
If a ballroom is now considered security, can we also get those for schools and churches? Lots of those in your district…but money is no object, right?

Oh but he can go to a WWF event or rallies, or golf…GTHOH about that damn ballroom. Security was fine. Nothing happened to him. That’s how it works. 🙄

Wait a minute I thought the tax payers weren’t paying for that??

Sadly, no. Kinda happens almost every day somewhere. Hits different when it affects you, huh? Just happened to be the privileged that had security in place to stop the person. What will the cost be for the security that will need to be in place when potus invites hundreds of rando’s onto WH property for a gala?

What happened to ALL the private donors!?! Or weren’t there any?????

I thought the ballroom was already paid for privately. How about focusing on real people with real ordinary issues in your district.

Why are we going to pay for it now? What about all these donations that have already paid for it?

How is this now a requirement for security? He’s still going golfing. And to UFC fights. And football games. And presumably campaigning for people before midterms. None of which happens in that ballroom.

Sorry, not buying it. Security and fancy new expensive unnecessary Ballroom don’t go together.

Grifters

Just Stop!

you want to use tax dollars for a ballroom while Missouri is telling poor kids they can’t have cake and soda?
Is that right?

Not like an entire civilization was threatened.

We see what you did there.

No we should not pay for a ballroom. Fix healthcare first

Tell you what, on behalf of schools everywhere and the children running shooter preparedness drills in them, I’ll send thoughts and prayers your way and you can call them a ballroom

I thought this was going to be privately funded. Meanwhile, you can’t give us healthcare?

Your answer is to build a ballroom.
Will you build a ballroom in every school? Every public place?
Address the real issue with a real solution.
And forget the damn ballroom.

That ballroom will be no match for the November bulldozer that’s coming your way.

Security is a talking point if you’re a little kid in a school.

Let see if I have this correct…in defiance of Congress, and the law, construction was announced and began last July. Less than a year ago. But meanwhile the GOP has had over 15 years to plan a better Healthcare system for the American people, all the while complaining about the program President Obama helped put in place, a program providing health-care to millions, some of whom voted for Trump.
Protection? While protecting the President is important, so are the millions of American children who face the possibility of dying while attending schools. We have lost thousands of children to gunfire at the hands of troubled gunmen. Yet MAGA thinks MORE GUNS is the answer, including arming teachers! Teachers are trained to educate not act as bodyguards or security.
Stop blaming other people for harmful, political rhetoric. The call is coming from inside the (White) House, Mark.

The new ballroom wouldn’t fit the number of people at the WHCD. So…. How’s that going to help?

You do know it was a private invitation only event. Not an official White House event .

You act like this is the first Year this event has been held outside of the White House. It’s been held many times before without incident. It’s not the location that is the issue. It’s the person. We don’t need a change of White House East Wing, we need a change of President

Hitler had a secure bunker that didn’t cost 400 millon.

Mark wants a epstein ballroom not health care for you. [….]

Thoughts and prayers!
That’s what America’s school children get!

Republicans now want to talk about a ballroom instead of Iran, Ukraine, affordability, healthcare, childcare, gas prices, cuts to Medicare Medicaid and snaps.

“Squirrel!”

Oh ffs….here we go.

Is he going to Golf in the ballroom? What happened to the private funding that he said was in place before he just tore the East Wing down?

How would have a Secure WH ballroom stop this guy. President has no control over the press. Why would the American public pay for this private event.
Second does that mean anyone citizen can rent that ballroom just as they could have that hotel banquet room. Why do Americans even chose to believe these guys. Its why we are where we are at..

*shooting occurs*
NORMAL PEOPLE: “This is why we need gun laws”
MAGA: “This is why we need a White House Ballroom”

We were told it was privately funded. Now you want my money???

Are you seriously looking at the prices I’m paying for gas and groceries and telling me I need to dig deeper into my pockets to chip in for the presidents vanity project? Does this seem like the fiscally responsible thing to do?

Who are these past presidents who have been “BEGGING” for a ballroom for “over 150 years???”
Here’s the thing, Mark…
WE, THE PEOPLE, DO NOT WANT A FUCKING BALLROOM. WE WANT OUR EAST WING BACK.
Yes…OUR East Wing! This is the PEOPLE’S HOUSE!!! NOT TRUMP’S!!!

Bullshit……not everyone is buying the crap you keep peddling….

As someone in your district; I didn’t vote for you. Every time you open your mouth, you confirm I made the right choice.

How about, “hang Mike Pence”? You hypocritical sycophant.

They take the American people for fools. And there are a lot of them. Anyone still supporting this administration for instance. But this level of fuckery is so absurd literally ANYONE should be able to see thru it. You are an embarrassment. A boot licker who cares nothing about the people you represent, just filling your pockets and greed. Just gross.

Do you really think we cant see through your bullshit?

Wow, this takes the MAGA clown dissonance to a new level! Great job, Mark, your sycophant POS!

Holy crap dude…the White House was secure before the orange marmalade cut it in half to build his Hobby Lobby reject ballroom.

Wow, Mark. Can’t help yourself can you ?

That doesn’t even make any sense! What the actual hell does the ballroom have to do with any of it? You people are insane!

What an embarrassment you are to Missouri!
Not a single thought in your head that’s original. Just repeating what tRump says.
What a Pathetic little man.

How is the ballroom going to protect him on the golf course or theater or is he just going to stay in there until the end of his term? What happens after his term people might still want to hurt him? Is he going to live in his bunker forever? Wouldn’t it be cheaper to stop being so mean and people wouldn’t want to hurt him? Where did the money go that was donated to build the ballroom? Did he ever really have it or was it a scam from the beginning?

Oh we are shaking all right – our heads wonder how they think we can be so stupid to buy this BS

Mark would rather waste money on wars and ballrooms than help hard working Americans.

Quit trying to sell the ballroom. IDGAF about some room most Americans will never see, much less be inside of.
Had the people in charge of securing the sight done their jobs properly this wouldn’t have been an issue. That’s what happens when putting sycophants in charge of important things. How is it presidents have attended this dinner and this is the 1st time a situation like this happens while attempting to justify an outrageous building expense due to a presidential whim?
C’mon, this reads a lot like “let them eat cake” when people in the state you claim to represent are struggling to just buy groceries and gas.

Ballroom Republicans, tone deaf to the needs of their constituents.

Epstein Ballroom republicans.

What happened to all the rich folks donations for that? Oh….another lie. Smh.

I know what would be more secure than a ballroom for tRump,…PRISON!

You just can’t be that stupid. Please tell me that you’re not.

Just think of all the possibilities for grift.

“Confederates and Nazis: Fucking Losers”

Today:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

Just inspected the site of the new Ballroom that will be built, compliments of a man known as Donald J. Trump, at the White House. For 150 years, Presidents, and many others, have wanted a beautiful Ballroom, but it never got built because nobody previously had any knowledge or experience in doing such things — But I do, like maybe nobody else, and it will go up quickly, and be a wonderful addition, very much in keeping with the magnificent White House itself. These are the “fun” projects I do while thinking about the World Economy, the United States, China, Russia, and lots of other Countries, places, and events. It will all be good, maybe even GREAT, depending on who is the President of the U.S.A.!

But access to healthcare for all is a needless excess. Go figure.
