To amend chapter 170, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the 1619 Project
in school districts and charter schools.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Sect ion A. Chapter 170, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to beknown as section 170.352, to read as follows:
170.352. 1. As used in this section, “1619 Project” means the 1619 Project initiative of the New York Times.
2. No school district, charter school, or personnel or agent of such school district or charter school shall:
(1) Teach, use, or provide for use by any pupil the 1619 Project as part of any curriculum, course materials, or instruction in any course given in such school district or charter school; or
(2) Teach, affirm, or promote as an accurate account or representation of the founding and history of the United States of America any of the claims, views, or opinions presented in the 1619 Project as part of any curriculum, course materials, or instruction in any course given in such school district or charter school.

It’s all about the details. You’d think there’d be something about purging any of those same materials in associated libraries. Publicly burning them is the customary method.

If a society is afraid of words written on a page it has much bigger problems than those words written on a page.

“For the past nine legislative sessions, first as an advocate and then as a legislator, I have had the privilege to work and push for public policy that improves the lives of Missourians across our state. I first got involved in Missouri politics in 2013 while working for Planned Parenthood and transitioned to working with the Missouri Rural Crisis Center organizing in support of Medicaid Expansion. Over the last five years as a State Representative, I have dedicated myself to advancing policy to support families with low incomes, people struggling with the disease of addiction, and many other priorities that reflect an agenda to promote social and economic justice for all Missourians.

“I am very proud of the priorities I have been able to shepherd into becoming law over the last five years. In 2018, I worked with colleagues to pass legislation to provide substance abuse & mental health services for new mothers suffering from the disease of addiction. In the 2021 legislative session I passed a bill to allow families who qualify for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) to receive vouchers to utilize at their local farmers market. This bill was a win for families, farmers, and our local economies. Governor offers false excuse for pulling LGBT exhibit

“The Parson administration’s removal of an exhibit on LGBT history from the Missouri Capitol Museum was disappointing. That the governor lied about his reasons for doing so is indefensible. The statutory procedure the governor says wasn’t followed for approving exhibits does not exist. State law authorizes the Board of Public Buildings to allocate space to the museum but gives the board no power to determine the content of exhibits, and there is no evidence the board has ever done so. The governor had no justification for removing this exhibit and no excuse for not restoring it.”

Emergence of delta variant behind latest spike

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — While new cases of COVID-19 dropped in Kansas for the seventh consecutive month in June, the emergence of the delta variant in Missouri sent cases soaring.

There were more than 15,000 new COVID-19 cases in Missouri in June based on data from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services along with local health departments.

Researchers say the strain [delta variant] is more contagious and more virulent than the original COVID-19 virus, meaning it spreads faster and easier and leads to a higher rate of hospitalizations, especially among younger — usually unvaccinated — segments of the population.

For one thing, animal drugs are often highly concentrated because they are used for large animals like horses and cows, which can weigh a lot more than we do—a ton or more. Such high doses can be highly toxic in humans.

Moreover, FDA reviews drugs not just for safety and effectiveness of the active ingredients, but also for the inactive ingredients. Many inactive ingredients found in animal products aren’t evaluated for use in people. Or they are included in much greater quantity than those used in people. In some cases, we don’t know how those inactive ingredients will affect how ivermectin is absorbed in the human body.

Think about that social media conversation for just a brief moment. Tested vaccines in hundreds of millions of people worldwide are not good, the untested veterinary version of an anti-parasitic drug is a winner.
