I live in the KC metro area in a rural town about the size of La Grange and Canton put together. We do not have a grocery store in town but we do have two Dollar Generals. The eggs there are over 8 and over 6 for a carton.

Sen. Schmitt, the outrage isn’t faux. It is sincere. I don’t see why a senator who is supposed to represent all the voters in a state is working to keep a divider between people with differing political outlooks. Surely, that carries on under its own momentum.
Yes, the price of eggs is a kind of barometer for the economy and I’m glad the bird flu is winding down. More normally priced eggs will be one less distractor.
The outrage, though, is caused by the way the executive branch is pushing the limits on all sorts of boundaries. The extreme readings being made of the Constitution, the laws, the responsibilities of the branches of government, and the appropriate political disagreements are the cause of the outrage and made worse by no pushback from Congress.
Yes, the price of eggs is a daily reminder of the state of the economy, but as for outrage? That’s down to egregious executive overreach with Congress silently watching it happen.

Perhaps you should, because he sounds more insane every day. Now he is trying to negate President Biden’s pardons because he used an ‘auto pen’?? And it also sounds like he would imprison his political rivals if allowed to. He and his sidekick are slashing through government agencies with no forethought or a staff that is professional and knows what they are doing. And we know that Musk targeted agencies that had had cited issues with him, including safety issues with Space X. You know, the one that sent up the rocket that exploded and rained debris down on populated areas?
