Everyone’s a critic, right? This evening:

The Movie Industry in America is DYING a very fast death. Other Countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away from the United States. Hollywood, and many other areas within the U.S.A., are being devastated. This is a concerted effort by other Nations and, therefore, a National Security threat. It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda! Therefore, I am authorizing the Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade Representative, to immediately begin the process of instituting a 100% Tariff on any and all Movies coming into our Country that are produced in Foreign Lands. WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!

Anti-Nazi League Protest to Hollywood Visit of Leni Riefenstahl

HOLLYWOOD, Nov. 30. Advertisements bought by the Hollywood anti-nazi league today blared in big, black type: “There is no room in Hollywood for Leni Riefenstahl.” Miss Riefenstahl is the darkhaired German actress frequently mentioned as “Hitler’s girl friend.” She is in Hollywood for her first look at the American film studios. Hardly had Miss Riefenstahl settled her bags and given out another interview denying anything beyond a “business relationship” with Adolph Hitler, when the antinazi league went to work. It bought space in the Hollywood trade papers and urged the film colony to give the German actress a cold shoulder. The same kind of snub was given Premier Mussolini’s son, Vittorio, when he visited here last year. Young Mussolini went home abruptly, and reputedly angrily.

Apparently, Leni Riefenstahl and her dining party of twelve were refused service at a “Cabaret”. For being Nazis.

Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.

At the White House petition site:

We petition the Obama administration to:

Urge Sony pictures to release the film “The Interview” and protect our 1st Amendment.

We the people of the United States of America feel that our 1st amendment is under attack by a foreign government. Our right to produce comedy motion pictures that depict anyone or anything is greatly at stake. We want our government to defend our first amendment by urging Sony to release “The Interview” and offer protection to movie goers as well as those involved in the production of the movie.

Uh, it’s a violation of the First Amendment if Congress makes a law restricting access to the film. That hasn’t happened, has it?

We petition the Obama Administration to:

Encourage Sony to Distribute “The Interview” to Those Americans Who Wish to See the Film.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” – Thomas Jefferson

If the people of the United States of America think seeing “The Interview” will make them happy, they should be allowed to do so from the safety of their own homes.

Sony should be protected and allowed to digitally release “The Interview” for purchase as a digital download immediately.

We cannot allow a foreign nation to terrorize our citizens out of seeing a harmless, satirical film.
