Today, from Mark Alford (r):

Congressman Mark Alford
[July 17, 2024]
Saturday’s attempted assassination of President Trump came AFTER the Secret Service reportedly stepped up its security measures.
How could this have happened?
The American people deserve answers, and they will get them.
[….]

There is much hilarity in the responses:

REGISTERED REPUBLICAN shooter, all is not well in the Republican Party. Not at all.

[….] Father a registered Republican
Mother a registered Democrat. This was going to be the first time this kid voted.

[….] He was a registered Republican.

[….] he could have done that just to vote against someone in the Republican primary.

[….] Pennsylvania has closed primaries, meaning a registered Republican can only vote on the Republican primary ticket. Try again.

[….] exactly. So he was voting for someone else instead of Trump. [….] It’s been done often.

And how would anyone know?

[….] shooter was a REGISTERED REPUBLICAN.

[….] DJT registered as a Republican but is a Fascist.

The FBI and Secret Service are corrupt. Remember the cocaine?

Sure we will. There is NO TRUTH in DC. Only cover ups and lies.

Stepped up security. RIGHT. They gave all the security to Jill Biden. They are not fooling the American people.

[….] So … the beans are spilled on the CRISIS ACTORS in suits surrounding #PutinsBitch!

[….] And 87,000 additional IRS agents armed. Makes sense, right?

[…..] That’s not true. Research it. Those IRS agents due to be hired are replacing retiring staff, and range from desk clerks, to the mail room, to data entry clerks, to actual field agents. There are not going to be 87K armed IRS agents, that’s another Republican lie, and indicative of what is wrong with the Republican party. Learn the actual truth and stop adding to the problem by posting incendiary lies.

Total BS , just another hoax to draw attention away from the real planners of the assassination, the deep state and higher level secret service

Tin foil.

Iran wasn’t behind this. A lonely American citizen that helped old people and saw no hope for his own future did this.
What does American politics say about leaders who do not serve their jobs and roles?

[….] LOL. No. YOU are either shockingly naive or ignorant of truth. It’s not a Party issue. We have a PEOPLE problem. If you look at history (which is amazingly and historically full of people AND weaponry,) you will find that folks didn’t just willy nilly go into schools/places of worship/pick your place, and arbitrarily kill the innocent. This has become a huge issue since we started giving too much credence to people’s narcissistic leanings.

Check out Bill Eigel, Republican candidate for governor in Missouri….he’s using a flamethrower in his ads, and vowed to keep using it, even after that staged event….

[….] she’s an uptight ignorant gash that hates America.

[….] Also, the HATE SPEECH Bill Eigel promotes in those ads is beyond the pale. Openly screaming hate and division. He’s totally unfit to serve in any capacity.

[….] Is that why Traitor Trump supporters fly swastika flags, and Confederate flags? Because they love America?

[….] good as those are the smart ones that love seeing Americans prosper. Unlike you angry liberal fascit dipfocs that hate America.

[….] Ummm, again, fascism is a right-wing ideology….can you dress yourself?

[….] another ignorant post by an ignorant gash.

[….] Cry harder, MAGAt! Your tears are delicious!

[….] you and your liberal douchenozzle will be crying in Nov when your pedophile hero Biden loses.

No chance we are getting any answers. FBI leading the way—they have been trying to get him locked up for a couple of years. SS won’t answer any questions publicly because they know how bad it is. Either they were in on it or it was botched beyond belief. Either way, not good moving forward for the country.

That was a step up? I’m not LE- my husband is and is an FBI Academy graduate and we saw mistake after mistake- his protection wasn’t even close to the protection they claim. This makes me very nervous about our country’s security! Do better!

Protection sucked

JD Vance & Mike Johnson will send weak minded Trump to the golf course and then take over !

If they was stepping it up there would have been drones !!
And a ladder should have been a clue.

We got it. No need to keep up the repetitive posts unless you’re trying to keep people angry.

Defund them like you’re threatening to do to the FBI? Like you did the IRS?

What are Vance’s connections to Peter Thiel? [….]

Well, duh. Thanks Captain Obvious.

I think the Secret Service got some ‘splainin’ to do!

The American people, mentally cognitive ones anyway, already know what happened. For nine years trump has promoted violence, cheered on violence, and reveled in it’s afterglow. And violence answered his call. Had UT been anyone but trump you would have dropped a one time post, maybe offered “thoughts and prayers,” and let it at that.

[….] if it had been biden it would have been derision and jeers, much like when pelosi’s husband was attacked.

[….] I think you mean Biden and all his murderous cronies!

[….] how about all of the calls from the left to assinate Trump, but yeah it was all him you dumb ass! Wake up!!

[….] calling people names is what we expect from Republicans, but that does not mean it is acceptable.

[….] like you guys don’t call us names every single day…..racists, homophonic, etc…stfu

[….] we don’t want him to become a martyr. Out of sight, earshot and mind would be great, just not a martyr for you all.

[….] and he is a racist, misogynistic, a crook, a liar, an adjudicated sexual predator, adulter and a fornicator. He’s not a Christian and he certainly isn’t qualified to lead anything but his cult.

I’d be more concerned with finding out why a Republican, with a legally purchased AR, tried to kill him.
But yeah. It’s the Secret Services fault.

[….] he had ties to Antifa, he had recently donated to actblue, and it was his father’s gun. Yes, it was the Secret Service’s fault.

[….] 2021, 15 dollars to a Super PAC, and actually a 68 year old man in Pittsburgh with a similar name made the donation. The kid was pure MAGA.
Why do you guys never take pride in trying to start your Civil War? JAN 6 was some of your best work. Then deny. At least the Southern Democrats of the 1860’s took pride in their work.

[….] lame! But go ahead and try to use that. He donated to the Democrats before registering as a Republican. What’s the point here? He was a delusional mutant. He took some shots at a former president and murdered innocents in the process. He’s dead and his Creator has judged him. What’s the point in regard to his political affiliation?? There is no point!

[….] I feel sorry for people like you!

[….] because I think the cause should be investigated? I feel sorry for you only wanting to hate.

[…] not hating just wish you would use common sense but I know that is impossible!

[….] common sense? Wanting to know why is as common sense as it gets.
Of course common sense would also imply that you are as purple as I, but we both know you are stuck in a political movement bent on civil war.

[….] yes he registered as republican but he was not a republican. He is not part of the MAGA movement! There is much more going on than we are being told! And yes it was the Secret Services fault for not securing that building! Period!!!

It’s a cult.

[….] that Secret Service detail was hand picked by Trump. Every one a Trump loyalist. They have even been accused of deleting phone messages to help Trump. Now you want us to believe those very same loyalist tried to kill him.
I don’t think you actually know what common sense is.

[…] wrong again! You know what you are going to believe what you want and that is your right! I will pray for you!!!

[….] Father a registered Republican
Mother a registered Democrat. This was going to be the first time this kid voted.

[….] yup. And in MAGA world, a woman’s opinion doesn’t matter. If dad’s republican, so is the rest of the family. It’s those Christian values.

[….] DJT is a Republican on paper, but really a fascist.

[….] and it is – their job is to PROTECT they failed!

[….] if we assume it was legit. Like 9/11, Sandy Hook, Kennedy (J and R).
By the way. I’m still waiting for Obama to take my guns. Or was it Clinton? Carter? Who knows?

[….] I have a question for those agents….Why did they help Traitor Trump stage that? And why were they willing to let a MAGAt with a gun, kill another MAGAt and wound 2 more?

[….] Trump is not a Traitor and did not stage this. There were so many innocence one killed two in critical condition. Only an idiot would think that and I was a Democrat. Shaking my head.[….] The gun mans father was a registered Republican and mother a registered Democrat. This would have been his first time voting for the shooter. ( son )

[….] wait until the investigation is complete instead of making up stupid stuff that’s in your mind. We are all human beings no matter what your political views are. I’m very sorry a husband/father was killed and two others in critical condition. I’m also thankful that Donald Trump was not hurt any worse or killed. Killing should not be condoned for anyone.

That’s wrong….he got 2nds for sure…look at the lady who can’t even holster her gun…or short people….seriously….DEI, and corrupt secret service for sure…prob. Cia and others in involved too…come on….a roof, a ladder, a gun, parked over 1/2 mile away, everyday people saw the guy( not trained) No one is buying this bs

Republican Shooter
Over and over again, here, too, the shooter is the one
Who’s registered Republican, and had a legal gun,
He took some extra magazines, he’s Christian, male, and white,
And thinks that shooting people that he doesn’t like is right.
The magats should embrace this young man in their brotherhood
He got a gun and ammunition as they say he should,
He took a stand, did what he planned, all great right-wing routine
You’d think that they’d embrace him and his black AR-15.
And though he was Republican, this shooter seeking change,
Spent too much time on politics instead of at the range.
Republicans will never vote for any gun control
But here’s a chance to make them show the hardness of their soul:
The Democrats should introduce a bill to great renown
“The Donald Trump Gun Safety Act”, and make them vote it down…..]

[….] just like they did Kyle Rittenhouse, you don’t take an AR15 with you to provide medical assistance. That punk got away with murder. You know your poster boy Republicans!!!

Gosh so many conspiracy theories, how about this one trump and cronies set the whole thing up and holly rollers were the main makers of the plans ,so we can be United as a country that was not never founded by by Christians and want this country was built under a white nationalist Christianity who brought salves over to America then regretted it later and the bible be taught in schools if that child refusing not to go to such a class the gallows will be waiting for him so they are making plans to deport people with all names that sound like they are from anywhere south of the borders housing problems fixed it’s only a conspiracy theory man made ideology the GOP have for us higher taxes for us less for the rich to make the wealthiest wealthier [….]long list 900 pages read it project 2025

Congressman Mark Alford so you blame the Secret Service, solely due to the fact that they are part of the Department of Homeland Security, which is run by Mayorkas? What about the pathetic security from the Butler Police Department? Crooks was on top of the staging room for the Butler Police Department! Here’s video that shows that Crooks was spotted lurking around way before the shooting! You are a complete disgrace to the US House of Representatives!

Deep in the heart of Texas.

Ambassador Alexi de Sadesky

Greg Abbott @GregAbbott_TX
If the public reporting is accurate that Dominion Voting Systems demanded that Tucker Carlson be fired as part of a litigation settlement, then I am happy that Dominion does not operate in Texas, and I don’t think that they should do so in the future. We may disagree with other’s positions, but we should never try to improperly silence views contrary to our own. If Dominion wants to do business with Texas in the future, they should first answer questions about what role, if any, they played in silencing a prominent conservative journalist. The answers to those questions, and other factors, should guide whether we want them to operate here.

Two of many responses:

BlackRock owns a big piece of Dominion. Bush Family and Rothschild Cabal Family are part owners of BlackRock.

blackrock also largest share holder of Fox. Every state should remove Gov pension Funds from BlackRock and form prvt StatePension fund and call it RedRock. Congress should look at antitrust. All they did with Fox is take money out of right pocket and put in left. Leaving small shareholders in right pocket with sinking boat.

I had no idea

Billy Long and Vicky Hartzler sign-on to ho-hum Benghazi conspiracy theory

Benghazi, Billy Long, conspiracy theories, John Kerry, missouri, Susan Rice, Vicky Hartzler

Republican outrage over all and sundry is not only predictable, but downright boring. The example du jour is the ongoing attack waged by John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Kelly Ayotte (and most recently, Susan Collins, proving that being a moderate Republican does not make one a good person) against potential Secretary of State nominee, Susan Rice. Can anyone say mountain out of a molehill?

As far as the Benghazi incident itself goes, the outrage is so drummed up that it practically reeks. As Kevin Drum points out:

As best I can tell, the suggestion from the right has been that Obama didn’t want to admit that Benghazi was a terrorist attack because….well, I’m not sure, exactly. Something about how this would blow a hole in his claim to be decimating al-Qaeda via drone attacks. Or maybe it would remove some of the luster from being the killer of Osama bin Laden. Or something. But one way or another, the story is that Obama was deeply afraid of admitting that terrorists are still out there and want to do us harm.

This has never made a lick of sense. If anything, the continuing existence of terrorists justifies his drone attacks. And it certainly wouldn’t do him any harm in an election. The American public routinely rallies around a president responding to a terrorist attack.

Drum also points out what a yawn the GOP’s feigned indignaton about Rice is:

… there’s considerable evidence that on September 15, when Rice taped her appearances, the CIA told her there had been protests in Benghazi earlier in the day. The CIA turned out to be wrong about that, but it simply makes no sense for them to have made this up. If it does anything at all, it only makes their response look worse.

Of course, the political strategy behind this anti-Rice campaign is now evident: nominate John Kerry as Secretary of state instead and run Scott Brown for his vacated seat – returning a Senate seat to the GOP:

Pressuring the White House into naming Kerry would accomplish two GOP goals. First, it would humiliate Obama by denying him his first choice, Susan Rice. Second, it would open up a currently safe Massachusetts Senate seat.

The next midterm election will be one of the most hazardous ever for Democrats, who currently hold a 55-45 margin in the Senate.

At least nine Senate Democrats are considered vulnerable in 2014, and no incumbent Republicans. If Republicans take control of the Senate, a newly feisty Obama will be totally hamstrung for his final two years.

Although most of the anti-Rice Benghazi outrage has been confined to the Senate which will have to confirm whomever is nominated to be Secretary of State, the peanut gallery in the House has been called into the fray as well. A number of House members wrote a letter (pdf) to President Obama, dated November 19, talking the usual trash about Rice.

Given the general cynicism and dishonesty of the attack, it would behoove Missourians to know which members of our delegation were among the letter’s signatories. It was not, as many might suspect, the entire Missouri GOP House delegation, but only the two remaining tea-party dim-bulbs, Billy Long (R-7) and Vicky Hartzler (R-4). Perhaps the other Missouri House GOPers were just absent the day the letter went around, but maybe, just maybe, some of them actually have some tiny bit of integrity. Who knows?

Would you run that by me again?

conspiracy theories, NRA, Wayne LaPierre

I had to watch the video a few times. Then I checked the basics…pulse, respiration, shadow…all signs indicated that I was , indeed, still an occupant of our mortal coil, so I watched it one more time.

Yes, Wayne LaPierre really did say, with a straight face and in public, that the evidence that President Obama wants to come after my guns is…wait for it…the fact that he hasn’t come after my guns. Seriously.

http://cloudfront.mediamatters.org/static/flash/pl55.swf

Can’t watch video online? Here’s the money-quote:

LaPIERRE: [I]n public, [President Obama will] remind us that he’s put off calls from his party to renew the old Clinton [assault weapons] gun ban, he hasn’t pushed for new gun control laws, and he’ll even say he looked the other way when Congress passed a couple of minor pro-gun bills by huge majorities. The president will offer the Second Amendment lip service and hit the campaign trail saying he’s actually been good for the Second Amendment.

But it’s a big fat stinking lie, just like all the other lies that have come out of this corrupt administration. It’s all part — it’s all part of a massive Obama conspiracy to deceive voters and hide his true intentions to destroy the Second Amendment in our country.

That’s the thing about conspiracy theories…once you give in to that sort of thinking, everything supports the conspiracy, even the things that would appear, to you and me, to prove just the opposite…presumably because “that’s what they want me to think.”
