There’s plenty more where that came from.

Today at the Missouri Ethics Commission for Catherine Hanaway’s (r) 2016 gubernatorial campaign from two Rex Sinquefield funded PACs:

C141055 07/01/2016 HANAWAY FOR GOVERNOR, INC Great St Louis 308 E High St Suite 301 Jefferson City MO 65101 7/1/2016 $395,162.36

[emphasis added]

That’s a lot of money.

Well, somebody has to pay for all those campaign commercials. Too bad they didn’t sink some of that into production values or any relevant public policy content.

As if the former Speaker of the Missouri House is, somehow, a political outsider?

Just saw LG PAC ad against John Brunner. I would bet some serious money that came from the Greitens camp. Just sayin. #MOgov 9:14 AM – 26 Jun 2016

Wouldn’t it be easier just to write the check directly to the campaign? Or buy the state? It’d eliminate the middleman and save on media buys.

campaign finance, Catherine Hanaway, Chris Koster, Eric Greitens., governor, John Brunner, missouri, Missouri Ethics Commission, Peter Kinder

Candidates filed their second quarter campaign finance reports with the Missouri Ethics Commission on Friday. There are quite a few people running for governor who have raised a lot of money.

Chris Koster (D):

C031159: Koster For Missouri
Committee Type: Candidate
Po Box 440173 Party Affiliation: Democrat
St Louis Mo 63144 Established Date: 08/12/2003
[….]
Information Reported On: 2016 – April Quarterly Report
Beginning Money on Hand $5,786,701.77
Monetary Receipts + $2,169,808.82
Monetary Expenditures – $506,354.62
Contributions Made – $0.00
Other Disbursements – $3,796.17
Subtotal $1,659,658.03
Ending Money On Hand $7,446,359.80

[emphasis added]

Well, that was a really good quarter. That’s a really, really good cash on hand.

The republicans:

C151077: Missourians For John Brunner
Committee Type: Candidate
Po Box 144 Party Affiliation: Republican
Jefferson City Mo 65102 Established Date: 04/02/2015
[….]
Information Reported On: 2016 – April Quarterly Report
Beginning Money on Hand $3,600,196.70
Monetary Receipts + $158,057.54
Monetary Expenditures – $486,953.60
Contributions Made – $11,480.00
Other Disbursements – $24,006.04
Subtotal ($364,382.10)
Ending Money On Hand $3,235,814.60

[emphasis added]

John Brunner’s (r) campaign spent a lot of money. But, then again, it has a lot of money to spend and knows where to get more.

C151053: Greitens For Missouri
Committee Type: Candidate
4579 Laclede Ave #138 Party Affiliation: Republican
St Louis Mo 63108 Established Date: 02/24/2015
[….]
Information Reported On: 2016 – April Quarterly Report
Beginning Money on Hand $3,434,231.61
Monetary Receipts + $1,015,988.85
Monetary Expenditures – $294,425.02
Contributions Made – $0.00
Other Disbursements – $25,498.65
Subtotal $696,065.18
Ending Money On Hand $4,130,296.79

[emphasis added]

That’s a lot of money. And still, a lot of it from out-of-state.

C141055: Hanaway For Governor, Inc
Committee Type: Candidate
7509 Nw Tiffany Springs Parkway Suite 300 Party Affiliation: Republican
Kansas City Mo 64153 Established Date: 02/14/2014
[….]
Information Reported On: 2016 – April Quarterly Report
Beginning Money on Hand $1,534,554.66
Monetary Receipts + $254,251.00
Monetary Expenditures – $176,246.77
Contributions Made – $0.00
Other Disbursements – $31,094.35
Subtotal $46,909.88
Ending Money On Hand $1,581,464.54

[emphasis added]

Meh. A million from one source at the beginning of the process certainly helps that bottom line.

C151161: Missourians For Peter Kinder
Committee Type: Candidate
Po Box 712 Party Affiliation: Republican
Jefferson City Mo 65102 Established Date: 08/25/2015
[….]
Information Reported On: 2016 – April Quarterly Report
Beginning Money on Hand $445,268.86
Monetary Receipts + $328,295.33
Monetary Expenditures – $113,230.91
Contributions Made – $0.00
Other Disbursements – $35,811.72
Subtotal $179,252.70
Ending Money On Hand $624,521.56

[emphasis added]

Not a bad quarter. There’s always name recognition.
