Day three still no change to grocery prices, car insurance premiums still not cut 50 %, and housing costs still rising? But my prescriptions have gone up. What a lie!

I follow this page because Alford is the representative for my district and I want to stay informed. Except for about 18 months, I am a lifelong Missourian. This is my home and I love it. I know there are plenty of people here who care about their neighbors, no matter if that person looks like them, lives like them, or comes from a similar background. I know there are other Missouri natives following this page for the same reasons I do, to stay informed.
I would encourage those who want to counter the hate and disinformation sometimes put forth here to use those posts to spur you to action. If Alford singles out a certain vulnerable group, for instance, log off of FB for a bit and find something you can do to support that group to help counter the effects of his rhetoric. Donate to an organization working on their behalf, or volunteer, or even just write a note of support to anyone in your acquaintance who is targeted to let them know they are not alone, that they are loved. Something I can do right now to counter this bit of division he’s trying to foment is support an author of color by buying one of their books. Also, his constituents should contact his office about specific pieces of legislation, even if you know he’s going to vote the other way. If nothing else, it won’t allow him to claim honestly that nobody in his district disagrees with him. If each one of us who cares takes one positive action for each of his negative posts, it will make a difference.
