This piece paid for by the republican national committee arrived in our mail box yesterday:
republicans and jobs?
Really, the republican national committee thinks their party’s been really good at jobs? That’s interesting.
From the White House:
Austan Goolsbee, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, looks back at the President’s record on the economy through the perspective of the last three years in private sector employment.
That graph tells a much different story, doesn’t it?
Meanwhile, the republican national committee shovels bullshit on the “B” side of the mailing:
…unemployment has skyrocketed to nearly 10% – the worst recession in a generation…”
Uh, and when did unemployment skyrocket? Look at the graphs above – it was under the republican administration in power from January 2001 to January 2009.
…has driven the national debt to over $13 trillion…
Uh, we had a budget surplus in 2000. Then republicans took over from January 2001 to January 2009 and broke everything. How much did the national debt grow during that period? Just asking.
And they want to be in charge again, with same policies that got us into this mess. The must think everyone else is really stoopid.
