The investors?

At the Missouri Ethics Commission:

C221794 08/02/2022 Missouri Common Sense PAC Faith, Family & Freedom PAC PO Box 172 Jefferson City MO 65102 8/2/2022 $125,000.00

[emphasis added]

Well, that didn’t work out very well.

It did for someone else.

C190908 07/29/2022 417 PAC Gladius PAC PO Box 771 Branson MO 65615 7/29/2022 $42,000.00

[emphasis added]

C222160 06/23/2022 Gladius PAC Rex Sinquefield 244 Bent Walnut Lane Westphalia MO 65085 Retired Retired 6/23/2022 $75,000.00

[emphasis added]

C222160 07/29/2022 Gladius PAC Rex Sinquefield 244 Bent Walnut Lane Westphalia MO 65085 Retired 7/28/2022 $25,000.00

[emphasis added]

What did they get?:

Rep. Curtis Trent, a Republican, represents Southwest Springfield and the City of Battlefield in the Missouri House of Representatives. Curtis was elected to his first term in November of 2016…

[….]

Sponsored Bills

[….]

HB 836 – (1803H.01I)
Establishes provisions for the appointment and duties of commissioners to attend an Article V convention

[….]

HCR 17 – (1882H.01I)
Calls for an Article V convention of the states to propose amendments to the United States Constitution placing limits on the federal government

HJR 48 – (2142H.01I)
Proposes a constitutional amendment on voting rights

And.

….As a champion for southwest Missouri values, Curtis is committed to defending the constitution and he will secure our right to bear arms as well as protect life from womb to tomb. Curtis will support small businesses and keep taxes low….

The big money was spent years ago. Now the right wingnut campaign finance industrial complex is just snarling over the remaing scraps.

Follow the money.

$150,000.00 in “network television”:

In opposition to:

Someone really doesn’t like this candidate.

…This primary is for all the marbles, there’s no opposition in the November General Election…

Pass the popcorn.

Today at the Missouri Ethics Commission:

C222160 07/29/2022 Gladius PAC Rex Sinquefield 244 Bent Walnut Lane Westphalia MO 65085 Retired 7/28/2022 $25,000.00

[emphasis added]

Where did the money go?:

For who?:

In support of:

“…As a champion for southwest Missouri values, Curtis [Trent (r)] is committed to defending the constitution and he will secure our right to bear arms as well as protect life from womb to tomb. Curtis will support small businesses and keep taxes low…”

Meh. The usual superficial right wingnut boilerplate.

Opposed to (in the republican primary):

[Brian Gelner] “…I am running for State Senate as a dad who wants to make sure my kids inherit a safer and stronger country, and as a small businessman who wants to bring my experience and conservative common-sense principles to state government…”

Meh. The usual right wingnut pseudo-populist “I’m not a career politician” boilerplate.

This primary is for all the marbles, there’s no opposition in the November General Election.

I’m rooting for a scoreless tie.

It fits, if the object is to repeal progress.

Yesterday, at the Missouri Ethics Commission, for a brand spanking new PAC:

C222160 06/23/2022 Gladius PAC Rex Sinquefield 244 Bent Walnut Lane Westphalia MO 65085 Retired Retired 6/23/2022 $75,000.00

[emphasis added]

It is new:

Apparently the cost of doing business is getting cheaper.
