On Thursday Trudy Busch Valentine, the Democratic Party nominee for the open U.S. Senate seat in Missouri, was in Kansas City for a number of campaign events. One stop between events was at Gaels Public House at 55th and Troost.
Valentine (D) spoke with individuals in the room, grabbed a bite to eat and a Busch beer, and listened to the introductions before speaking to the crowd.

She’s nothing like her opponent. Her kindness, interest in others, and empathy is easily apparent.
In a phrase, let the welfare of the people be the supreme law. That should be the norm for Missouri politicians.

Trudy Busch Valentine (D) is the Democratic Party nominee for the open U.S. Senate seat in Missouri.
Around 100 individuals attend her campaign office opening in midtown Kansas City this afternoon.

After greeting people as she entered the campaign office Valentine was introduced by former Kansas City Mayor Sly James.
Valentine made extensive remarks on the challenges facing Missourians which they have expressed to her as she has traveled across the state.
Missourians in cities, suburbs, and rural communities are worried about their livelihoods, their health and access to healthcare, their bodily autonomy, their safety, and their quality of life.
Valentine spoke personally and elequently of the tragic consequences of opiod addiction for individuals and their families.
At the end of her remarks Trudy Busch Valentine (D) remained to greet everyone in attendance:

In the past ten days there have been a number of pro-choice demonstrations across Missouri in reaction to the U.S. Supreme Court’s gutting of Roe v Wade and bodily autonomy. The demonstrations continue.
At 5:00 p.m. today around fifty individuals showed up in Mill Creek Park for a pro-choice rally and march through the Plaza.
In Mill Creek Park, Kansas City, Missouri.
“Our daughters deserve choices”
“Equal rights for all”
“Pro-life is a lie, you don’t care if women die”
“If I wanted politics in my pussy I would’ve fucked a senator”
“My body, my choice”
“My uterus, my choice”
“My body, my choice”

“Today, staring before 11:00 a.m., in high humidity and with the temperature in the 90s, hundreds of individuals gathered in Mill Creek Park near the entrance to the Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri to rally in support of reproductive rights.
Several hundred lined the sidewalks facing the streets with their picket signs. Hundreds more constantly, also with signs, streamed further into the park for a rally and to hear speakers.
The reaction from passers by was overwhelmingly supportive (this is Kansas City). There was an unending chain of car horns and shouts of solidarity and raised fists from those in the passing cars.
There have been a number of similar demonstrations scheduled across Missouri over the past few days.
There were, of course, scores of creative and informative protest signs…”
