Emanuel Cleaver, Hillary Clinton, Kansas City, missouri

This afternoon in Kansas City approximately one hundred fifty supporters and volunteers attended the opening of Hillary Clinton’s campaign headquarters. The building at 1901 McGee will serve as a campaign office, phone banking location, and volunteer staging location for Clinton campaign activities in the metropolitan area.

Representative Emanuel Cleaver (D) speaking at the opening of Hillary Clinton’s campaign headquarters in Kansas City – September 25, 2016.

He had a thing or two to say about the republican nominee:

Representative Emanuel Cleaver (D): ….Look, Donald Trump….this is personal, this is personal. Let me say this so I can get it, get through with it and have a nice evening [laughter]. When I hear Donald Trump say that African Americans are worse off than they have ever been in the history of this country, uh, I am just angered, uh, to the bone. Uh, because Frank Harrison Cleaver, uh, my great great grandfather who died when I was four, who had been in slavery, uh, would, would be insulted, uh, that, that, you know, that somebody could be so ignorant, uh, in twenty sixteen….

Sorry to lose your vote, but on behalf of our volunteers, thank you for putting on pants.

Drew Stuart @woodave41
Definitely not voting for Jason Kander. One of his minions came to the door, which forced me to put on pants in order to answer said door…

3:19 PM – 24 Sep 2016

Were the minions wearing blue overalls and goggles? Just asking.

Why would anyone feel the need to directly contact a candidate with a complaint and confession like that?

July in west central Missouri.

July in west central Missouri.

The last complete campaign finance report for RSLC [Republican State Leadership Committee]-Missouri PAC, via the Missouri Ethics Commission:

C051039: Rslc-Missouri Pac
Committee Type: Political Action
1201 F Street Nw Ste 675
Washington Dc 20004
Established Date: 02/10/2005
[….]
Information Reported On: 2015 – January Quarterly Report
Beginning Money on Hand $84.75
Monetary Receipts + $500.00
Monetary Expenditures – $113.00
Contributions Made – $0.00
Other Disbursements – $0.00
Subtotal $387.00
Ending Money On Hand $471.75

[emphasis added]

$84.75? You’ve got to be kidding. The reports filed since this one were “limited activity” reports.

Then, today:

C051039 09/23/2016 RSLC-MISSOURI PAC Republican State Leadership Committee 1201 F Street, NW Suite 675 Washington DC 20004 9/22/2016 $200,000.00

[emphasis added]

And quick as that:

C091129 09/23/2016 PARSON FOR MISSOURI RSLC – Missouri PAC 1201 F Street NW Suite 675 Washington DC 20004 9/22/2016 $200,000.00

[emphasis added]

Who’s paying for this?

There’s an RSLC PAC listed at the Federal Election Commission with the same address which hasn’t filed anything since 2012.

So much for transparency. And because there are no limits in Missouri, evidently republican PACs just like to dump their money here.

Hoover: Kent is a legacy, Otter. His brother was a ’59, Fred Dorfman.
Flounder: He said legacies usually get asked to pledge automatically.
