URGENT: We need you Thurs., Nov. 10 at 10 am in St. Charles for a Mo Senate Hearing on Health Insurance Exchanges!!!
A handful of Missouri Senators are working to block any progress in implementing the new federal law, obstructing even the private market coverage that includes important consumer protections. Most importantly, Missouri has been planning and getting ready for a competitive health insurance marketplace (a health care exchange). This marketplace is critical if we want access to health insurance with affordable premiums and good benefits. The new marketplace will help many small businesses, individuals and families get quality health care coverage with better premium rates. And insurance companies will have to cover us even if we have pre-existing conditions.
Unfortunately several Senators who want to protect insurance companies at the expense of people are blocking this progress. The next hearing in St. Charles is an important opportunity for health care consumers, community leaders and people of faith to make sure our voices are heard!
