Today at the Missouri Ethics Commission for Bev Randles’ (r) 2016 primary campaign for Lieutenant Governor, from a Rex Sinquefield supported PAC:

Not much time left to spend the money.

Bev Randles (r) filed her amended quarterly campaign finance report for her 2016 Lieutenant Governor campaign with the Missouri Ethics Commission on July 16th. We’ve noted a very large dollar contribution from a single individual before. Her statewide campaign is the unique beneficiary of large contributions from Missouri republican donors who actually back rival candidates with their contributions in the republican primaries for other statewide races. That probably doesn’t make Mike Parson (r), her rival for the republican nomination, feel very good.

It was a good fundraising quarter for Bev Randles (r):

C141581: Missourians For Randles
Committee Type: Candidate
Po Box 11099 Party Affiliation: Republican
Kansas City Mo 64119 Established Date: 12/08/2014
[….]
Information Reported On: 2016 – July Quarterly Report
Beginning Money on Hand $616,012.56
Monetary Receipts + $774,230.68
Monetary Expenditures – $854,207.05
Contributions Made – $0.00
Other Disbursements – $0.00
Subtotal ($79,976.37)
Ending Money On Hand $536,036.19

[emphasis added]

Where did the money come from?:

Contributions to Bev Randles' (r) 2016 campaign for Lieutenant Governor - July 2016 Quarterly Campaign Finance Report.

Contributions to Bev Randles’ (r) 2016 campaign for Lieutenant Governor – July 2016 Quarterly Campaign Finance Report.

The contrast is stunning.

$750,000.00 of the $774,230.68 raised in cash for Bev Randles’ (r) campaign came from three entities, two individuals (related to each other) and a PAC funded by Rex Sinquefield. The second smaller contribution for $191,850.00 from the PAC was an in-kind contribution. There were another 139 contributions to the campaign in this quarter. There was one contribution for $2,500.00, one contribution for $1,500.00, four contributions for $1,000.00, five contributions for $500.00, one contribution for $300.00, and five contributions for $250.00. The remainder were for $200.00 or less.

Some of the campaign’s expenditures in the quarter:

7/16/2016 MISSOURIANS FOR RANDLES [pdf]

Eventure Capital Group 543 Huckelberry Ct Union MO 63084 4/4/2016 Fundraising $7,171.36

SRCP Media 201 N Union St Ste 200 Alexandria VA 22314 6/3/2016 advertising $163,739.00

Turning Point 335 Cherry Hills Meadows Dr Wildwood MO 63040 6/5/2016 Strategy & Comm Consulting $13,500.00

Eventure Capital Group 543 Huckelberry Ct Union MO 63084 6/13/2016 Fundraising $4,343.97

Victory Enterprises 5200 30th St SW 7 Davenport IA 52802 6/13/2016 Grassroots & Digital Strategy $12,906.60

SRCP Media 201 N Union St Ste 200 Alexandria VA 22314 6/15/2016 advertising $133,186.00

SRCP Media 201 N Union St Ste 200 Alexandria VA 22314 6/29/2016 advertising $275,926.00

[emphasis added]

Uh, raising $750,000.00 of the $774,230.68 in the quarter from three entities probably means your campaign needs some serious work on its “Grassroots Strategy”.

Okay, that’s a lot of money for a poll. In a down ballot primary.

Advertising. That’s a lot. Think about how much there’d be without those three large dollar contributors.

Welcome to Missouri.

Well, at least some of it.

Bev Randles (r) [August 2015 file photo].

Bev Randles (r) [August 2015 file photo].

Today at the Missouri Ethics Commission for Bev Randles’ (r) 2016 campaign for Lieutenant Governor from a PAC funded by Rex Sinquefield:

C141581 07/08/2016 MISSOURIANS FOR RANDLES Grow Missouri 308 E High St Suite 301 Jefferson City MO 65101 7/6/2016 $250,000.00

[emphasis added]

In 2014:

C141581 12/08/2014 MISSOURIANS FOR RANDLES Rex and Jeanne Sinquefield 244 Bent Walnut Westphalia MO 65085 Self Retired 12/8/2014 $1,000,000.00

[emphasis added]

In 2016:

C141581 06/02/2016 MISSOURIANS FOR RANDLES Missouri Club for Growth PAC PO Box 669 Grover MO 63040 6/2/2016 $500,000.00

C141581 06/24/2016 MISSOURIANS FOR RANDLES Missouri Club for Growth PAC PO Box 669 Grover MO 63040 6/24/2016 $191,850.00

[emphasis added]

So, that’s a total of $1,941,850.00 for one candidate effectively from one contributor and the PACs he funds.

But, wait, there’s an interesting twist.

C141581 01/13/2016 MISSOURIANS FOR RANDLES David Humphreys PO Box 4050 Joplin MO 64803 TAMKO Building Products Executive 1/11/2016 $50,000.00

C141581 06/02/2016 MISSOURIANS FOR RANDLES David Humphreys PO Box 4050 Joplin MO 64803 TAMKO Building Products Executive 6/2/2016 $125,000.00

C141581 06/02/2016 MISSOURIANS FOR RANDLES Sarah Atkins 4713 Rock Spring Rd Arlington VA 22207 TAMKO Building Products Consultant 6/2/2016 $125,000.00

[emphasis added]

That’s another $300,000.00.

The really big dollar republican donors are united in their contributions, unlike the republican Attorney General primary. Mike Parson (r) must feel really special.

Previously:

If there’s a need for more for the campaign the PAC has plenty to work with:

Well, that wasn’t a particularly active fundraising quarter. Then again, it doesn’t have to be if you got $1,000,000.00 from one friend a while back.
