2010, Chuck Purgason, missouri, Roy Blunt, Sam Wurzelbacher, Senate

Yeah, it looks like we’re gonna get a lot of mileage out of this type of headline during the primary election cycle.

A hat tip for the catch to our good friends at Fired Up.

Sam Wurzelbacher is fast becoming the Energizer Bunny of video political endorsements for non-establishment republican candidates in Missouri. Do you think he has a place at the lake? Just asking.

Sam Wurzelbacher: Hi, this Joe Wurzelbacher. You might know me as Joe the plumber. A few years ago I asked Obama a simple question and he surprisingly gave me a truthful answer that he had every intention of taking money from hard workin’ Americans and and givin’ it to whoever the heck he wanted. Well, ever since then I’ve made it my mission to stop politicians like Obama. Missouri has a choice for U.S. Senate on August third between Washington insider Roy Blunt and a man with character, Chuck Purgason. Chuck Purgason has served in the Missouri House and Senate with integrity. And believe me, it’s not an easy thing to do. He stuck to the budget and saved Missourians over a billion dollars. But hey, don’t take my word for it. Find out for yourself. Go to Purgasonforsenate dot com and see what a real American looks like. Remember, you do have a choice on August third – Washington or a man who’s proven he can be trusted, Chuck Purgason.

Announcer: Paid for by Purgason for U.S. Senate, because integrity really does matter.

Chuck Purgason: I’m Chuck Purgason [and] I approved this message.

Where to start?

“…I asked Obama a simple question and he surprisingly gave me a truthful answer that he had every intention of taking money from hard workin’ Americans and and givin’ it to whoever the heck he wanted…”

Not exactly. Senator John McCain used these words in a presidential debate on October 15, 2008:

“…MCCAIN: You know, when Senator Obama ended up his conversation with Joe the plumber — we need to spread the wealth around. In other words, we’re going to take Joe’s money, give it to Senator Obama, and let him spread the wealth around….

[emphasis added]

Interesting. That was Senator McCain’s spin. And he wasn’t present for the original conversation.

Somebody with a camera was.

Obama said (at the end of the original conversation with Sam Wurzelbacher):

…If you’ve got a plumbing business, uh, you’re gonna be better off if you’ve got a whole bunch of customers who can afford to hire you. And right now everybody’s so pinched that business is bad for everybody and, and I think when you spread the wealth around it’s good for everybody….

[emphasis added]

Back to Senator Chuck Purgason’s (r) campaign video.

“…He stuck to the budget and saved Missourians over a billion dollars…”

Balancing budget is a true group effort

By CHRIS KELLY

Sunday, April 4, 2010

In a recent editorial, Hank Waters wrote “Missouri law demands a strictly balanced budget.” That is not accurate. The Missouri Constitution is vague on the subject – never saying the General Assembly has direct responsibility to balance the budget. Arguably, only the governor has that duty. In practice, though, generations of Missouri legislators have operated on the premise that we all share that responsibility, but it is not explicit in the constitution….

“…see what a real American looks like…”

Wow. And to think that’s all there in one candidate’s campaign website.

Joe the Plumber supports state auditor candidate Icet in latest ad

Why it should matter to anyone, I have a hard time understanding, but in the latest commercial from the Allen Icet for state auditor campaign, Joe the Plumber, who has taken his 15 minutes of fame and stretched it beyond all reason, declares his support for Icet and compares him to a glass of “iced tea…

[Allen Icet, Auditor, Protecting Our Tax Dollars!]

Sam Wurzelbacher: To get our nation back we must elect honest leaders that will hold our government and themselves accountable. That is why I am proud to support Allen Icet for Missouri Auditor. I know Allen and he’s an honest man that you can trust to protect your tax dollars. But don’t just take my word for it, do your own research and I think that a little ice tea is exactly what you need.

[Allen Icet, Auditor, Protecting Our Tax Dollars!]

Ice T. Icet. Now I get it. I should have gone into political communications when I was fourteen.

Okay, they did that last one just to see if we were paying close enough attention.

Because nothing says republican establishment candidate like a seemingly endless series of $10,000.00 campaign contributions. Doesn’t that just give you grass rootsie chills all over?

They’ll definitely be able to hire a more expensive band.
