Yesterday, on social media, from Kara Joy:

i went down quite a little rabbit hole earlier, so now you get to, too.

some rich dude recently bought a piece of art, a banana duck taped (no, i will never spell it duct) to canvas. or something. i’m assuming. for 6.2 million bucks. anyhoo, that happened.

then some reporters tracked down the vendor that sold the banana to the artist. told the vendor. the vendor, who sold the banana for 35 cents, broke down. said he’s poor. that he’s never had or seen that kind of money.

then the dude that bought it (it has to be refreshed/replaced every few weeks), had a press conference in hong kong. where he ate the banana. oh, rich people are just so clever and have such silly little funsies!

meanwhile, i keep thinking about how i don’t think that all these peoples out there truly realize all of the nuances and trickle downs and details of what america is going to look like when the republican party, when trump and musk, tanks the economy. they hear, “it’ll be a rough few years, and then everything will be fine,” and they agree. they defend it. they welcome it. and they have no idea of the mass destruction on every level of life that ensues. food, healthcare, jobs, housing… or that they’re not going to be exempt, from the blowback. no matter how strong their allegiance. they have signed up for their oppression. and that is so damn wild to me.

we’re all the banana.

or the vendor… at least for awhile. until we’re all eaten.
