Twitter has started a truth in labeling campaign:
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
There is NO WAY (ZERO!) that Mail-In Ballots will be anything less than substantially fraudulent. Mail boxes will be robbed, ballots will be forged & even illegally printed out & fraudulently signed. The Governor of California is sending Ballots to millions of people, anyone…..

What you need to know
– Trump falsely claimed that mail-in ballots would lead to “a Rigged Election.” However, fact-checkers say there is no evidence that mail-in ballots are linked to voter fraud.
– Trump falsely claimed that California will send mail-in ballots to “anyone living in the state, no matter who they are or how they got there.” In fact, only registered voters will receive ballots.
– Though Trump targeted California, mail-in ballots are already used in some states, including Oregon, Utah and Nebraska.

I’ve been voting by mail in California for ten years, and let me tell you a few things about why it’s a better way to vote.
First, it’s secure, your voter registration number is on the ballots (meaning you can later check online to make sure they were counted), and your signature on the mailing envelope gets matched with the signature they have on file for you (mine is from my state ID card, would come from my driver’s license if I had one).
Second, when you have your ballots in your living room and all the time you need to mark them, you cast higher quality votes. Every initiative or down ballot race that I don’t really know that much about I look up online before I mark my ballot.
I suppose one could do this at the polling place with their smartphone, but even so, there would likely be someone waiting for you to finish so they can vote so you would be less likely to check a second source for your information, and I find doing so crucial to obtaining the truth.
And third, it doesn’t feed the “horse race” media presentation that has so skewed our entire campaign process. So the votes might not all be counted on election night.
Remember in 2018 how in the days after election day the continuing vote count toppled Republican after Republican in the conservative areas of southern California? The news just kept getting better and better and kinda made the election night reporting look silly. I fucking loved that.
