This morning on the third floor of the Capitol in Jefferson City about ten grim faced individuals exited the Speaker’s office approximately fifteen minutes before the start of the morning session.

Toward the end of the morning session the Speaker walked through a side gallery to the back of the House to speak with the Minority Floor Leader:

He then walked through to House and exited the floor.

There doesn’t appear to be the usual amount of levity on the floor of the House, even for this point close to the end of the regular session.
