about this issue is that neither party is willing to confront the most difficult issue; that of the high rate of default. Neither is willing to rein in the “schools” which are peddling loans to people who can/will never pay them back nor will the borrowers get any education from these diploma mills.
Neither the schools nor the borrowers have any interest in making sure they are paid back.
This is a huge percentage of the problem.
