The 30th Legislative District in Platte County, northwest of Kansas City (Legislative District map detail via the Missouri House of Representatives).
In the 2008 general election republican incumbent Jason Brown bested Democratic challenger Mary Anne Baier in the 30th Legislative District taking 62.8% of the vote while significantly outspending his opponent. Brown is term limited out for 2010 (he has a committee raising money for a state senate race), so the 30th will be an open seat race in 2010.
Democrat Alexia Norris has formed a committee and has started raising money. At this point there doesn’t appear to be a republican candidate who has actively started the fundraising process.
